Putting A Playlist in a USB Drive

Hello, I was wondering how I would export a playlist onto a USB drive. I tried to just copy and paste all of the songs onto my USB drive, but then when I went to go upload my songs onto my Xbox 360 hard drive, there were no songs that I purchased, and the songs that weren't purchased didn't have an artist, album, or any other information other than a random number, then a hyphen, and then the song name. I have a 4 gigabyte USB drive, 12 gigabytes on my Xbox 360 hard drive, and the playlist I want to put on my Xbobx 360 hard drive is 634 megabytes. Please help!

When I want to move all the songs in a playlist to my thumbdrive, I just select all the songs in the iTunes playlist (Ctrl-A), then drag them to the thumbdrive window. The first time I tried this I was surprised and pleased that iTunes copies the underlying FILES, not just pointers to those files. An iTunes playlist window, in other words, behaves like a Windows Explorer window.

  • Can copy an Itunes playlist to an USB drive

How do I copy an Itunes playlist to an USB drive?

If you just want the collection of tracks you can drag & drop the tracks from iTunes to an open folder in Windows Explorer.
Do you need the tracks to play in their playlist order? If so you can save the playlist as an M3U file in addition to copying over the files, then use my script LocaliseM3U to make the playlist "portable". Drag & drop the M3U file onto the script and it will convert the absolute file paths to relative ones that should work from the memory stick.

  • Copy iTunes 9 Smart Playlist to External USB Drive

Is is possible to copy iTunes 9 Smart Playlist to an external USB drive without burning CDs/DVDs? I have about 1TB of iTunes Purchased content that I have in a Smart Playlist (Kind=Purchased, Kind=Protected) that I would like to backup to another external USB drive. Apologies if I have missed a posting of how to do this, I did search. Thanks if you have a solution.

  • How do you put a playlist on a flash drive.

How do put a iTunes playlist on to a flash drive.

If this is a regular commercial music CD, the first step is to get the songs from the CD into your computer's iTunes library.  That is called "ripping."  This article seems to do a good job of describing how to do that step.
    http://www.macworld.com/article/1156861/howto_rip_cds.html
NOTE:  If you don't see the iTunes sidebar (along left side of window), from the menu bar, under View, select Show Sidebar.  The sidebar is what the article calls the "source list."
Once the CD's songs are in your computer's iTunes library, they are like any others songs you already have.  You can sync them to your iPod in the same way.

  • X1 Carbon Recovery - USB Drive - Can't get it to work

I just created my recovery disks on my X1C. I put them on a 16gb USB Drive.
Everything proceeded fine but I wanted to test them out before I went any further. I put the USB drive in, pressed F12 at bootup and then proceeded to select the USB drive as the boot drive.
The screen flashes and then takes me back to the boot menu.
    Any ideas?

  • Cannot emtpy trash containing a file from FAT32 USB drive

    Hi
I had copied a .app file from another mac over a network to my FAT32 USB drive. I then deleted the file from the USB drive per normal it went to trash. The problem is that i cannot empty this one file out of trash.
    What iv tried thus far:
    - I tried restarting.
    - I tried dragging it back onto the USB and deleting again.
    - I tried dragging it onto my desktop, upon which it asked for my system password, and then deleting again.
    - I tried putting it back on the USB drive, restarting in windows XP, and tried deleting in windows.
None of the above has worked. The file is Zero KB. Windows gave an error with something about the file is not completed...?
    Thanks in advance
    cheers

  • Accessing usb drive from a connection kit

I have a thing called 'HDMI & AV Connection Kit for iPad' I plugged it into my iPad 3 and put a USB flash drive into the USB hole. How do I access the USB flash drive from the iPad? I cannot find a way to navigate to it.
If anyone knows what I do, or what app I need to get to do this I would be very grateful
    Thanks
    Dave

You can't. Not in the way I think you want it.
The CCK will only work to import photos and videos. You could put some photos on a USB drive and then import htem into your iPad. Those photos must follow a very rigid naming convention (be in a folder named DCIM and have a file name of exactly 8 characters, like DSC_4483, same with movies)
there is no protocol to import documents or the such. and there is no protocol to export anything with the CCK.

  • Need to put playlist on USB drive

I'm thinking about replacing my car stereo with a digital media reciever instead of using cd's. Can I burn my playlists to a USB thumbdrive or SD card anf, idf so, how do I do it. I can't find anyway to accomplish this in iTunes.

There is nothing to burn. You simply copy the files from your computer to the thumb drive or SD card.
To do this, insert the drive in your computer and open it so it looks like a folder. Highlight the songs you want in iTunes, and drag the files to the open folder.
(If you run iTunes in full-screen mode, make it smaller before you start, or else you will not be able to do the drag.)
This makes copies in the drive and does not change anything in the library.
Make sure the files you are copying are in a format that your car player can handle. MP3s are good just about anywhere, but if you have other formats, check for compatibility.

  • Copying a playlist onto USB drive rather than burning to CD

    Hi,
I've created a playlist of tracks which I want to load via USB stick into my car.
iTunes appears to only give the option of burning the playlist onto a CD or DVD.
Any ideas on how I can save the files direct to USB rather than creating a DVD and copying that to USB????
    thx

Drag the tracks from iTunes to the stick drive.  This will put them on the drive in whatever format they are in iTunes.  Not all car players play AAC format so you may need to convert them to mp3 in iTunes and then drag those files to the stick drive.
When you put them on the USB drive they won't be in playlist order.  Your car player will likely play them in alphabetical order according to how the copied files are named.  If you want a playlist you will have to read your car's manual because there isn't a standard for creating those for cars players.  It may use m3u which iTunes can also create in the File > Export menu, or it may use something that is more Windows-ish since usually the manufacturers  only cater to the larger Windows community.

  • I would like to take a iTunes play list and put it on a USB drive for my car radio to stay in my car. Is there a way to do this through iTunes so you have all the song info and there's no number in front of the name of the song? Is there a program?

iTunes only syncs to Apple devices.
Assuming the media is not DRM protected, any of the media can be dragged and dropped from iTunes onto other drives (external, flash, etc) as the user chooses.

  • ITunes will not allow me to drag files onto my desktop or a USB drive. The files still come up in finder and I can drag from there but I need entire playlists transferred. It started this when Yosemite went public and I updated out of BETA.

Songs and Playlists cannot be dragged from the itunes app onto desktop or usb drives.
Files can be dragged from Finder but only one at a time.
The issue started when I updated Yosemite out of BETA.
    I am running:
    OS X Yosemite 10.10
    2013 Macbook Pro
    iTunes 12.0.1

Hey! I had the same problem you did just today when I was trying to get my second iPhone to sync. What you need to do with music or anything extra that you doing you have to creat a second playlist or picture or anything that you would like to use, so that you can add to the second device that you are going to be using. I am not sure if that will help but it helped me out a lot!! Good luck!

  • Can't move playlist onto USB drive

Have an Itunes playlist of about 800 songs. I've tried time and again to drag the songs onto a USB drive, to no avail. Most of the time either nothing happens, or I see the songs "return" to the itunes window. Sometimes it works if I only select about 15-20 or so of the songs at a time. Is there any easier way to do this??

it is possible that the USB drive doesn't have enough space for all 800 songs. most drives don't have enough space. if you are intending to transfer them to another computer, you might just have to take 15-20 songs at a time, which can be tedious, but at least it gets the job done. another option is setting your iTunes to share your library, then you can pick and choose certain songs from your library to transfer to another.
    hope that helps!
