Putting ActiveX(packager) in CTabCtrl will cause CPU increase up to 100%

Putting ActiveX(packager) in CTabCtrl will cause CPU increase up to 100%, and the whole system hangs.(When the test application loses its focus).
Could you tell me why?
Thanks.

How I wish I had followed my usual rule and waited until at least OSX 10.7.1 before installing.
How did you "reinstall?" Others are reporting that installing from scratch is working better. If you're going to keep trying with Lion, I'd recommend posting in the Lion forum: https://discussions.apple.com/community/mac_os/mac_os_x_v10.7_lion (wow, I almost said "Windows forum," hmmm ).
I may get in at 7.1, more likely at 7.2, but only if things look like they've changed enough. This appears to me to be on par with the change from 9 to X, and I waited until 10.2.3 with that one. If/when I do change, I'll have an up to the minute SL clone ready to reinstall if needed, and even then, I'll probably put 10.7 on an external HD.

  • Verity on MX7 causing CPU to spike to 100%

We have just migrated our sites from CF5 to CFMX7. I
recreated the collections on the new server and everything appeared
to be fine. Now seeing CPU utilization spike to 100% when a search
is run. Any ideas as to what to look for or why this would be
happening? Thanks in advance for any help.

mDNSResponder is a process that searches and publishes content automatically. It's normal for it to be going non-stop in scanning IP networks. However, it should never take more than a 2-10% of your total CPU.
The MDNSResponder is just doing what's being asked of it. In short, there's an appllication/widget/etc. that's working at elevated rates. I was surprised, for example, that by signing up for Veoh, a small amount of bandwidth was being used - continually, without my knowing it - to support their whole network. The MDNSResponder helps achieve that. A network filter does the same thing. There is some service which is doing the same thing with your computer. It's magnified if you operate in Low Power Mode, since the stream of data just doesn't stop. It operates at elevated levels when an application (like iTunes) boots.
Find the application, and then decide if you're paying a fair price. You can do your own policework by playing around with Activity Monitor (which also uses it).

  • Firefox causes CPU to go to 100% for 30 seconds...

    Help!
I have an iMac G5 running 10.4.9 , 2GHz processor and 1.5GB RAM with a USB Lacie external hard drive attached...
I'm running a fresh install of Firefox 2.0.0.4
I've had this computer for about three years and during the past few months I've noticed that whenever I use firefox, when it is loading a page or waiting for a site/transfering data or even somtimes when I'm typing text into a web form, the CPU will go to 100% and stay there for like 20-30 seconds, I'll get the rotating pin-wheel and the browser is just locked up.
It becomes like every operation, every page I switch to has this processor load and performance hit!
I can switch to other apps, but the CPU is pegged!
Safari does not have this problem. I've installed Netscape and it seems to have the problem too.
I have cleared all of the browser caches and logs, cleared the system logs.
I've uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled it from scratch. Nothing has helped.
No other apps other than those two browsers cause this problem.
When I look in the activity monitor at what is happening, it shows firefox using like 75-80% of the cpu and it shows it as: "not responding", then it comes back and is using like 10% of the cpu. It is like it is waiting for somthing to time out and just peggs the processor until that happens.
I sure hope someone has run into this, I feel like I'm crazy, it is making the computer very un-usable for me.
    Thanks. -Donovan

I have noticed the same thing before on other CRIO systems - no idea what is causing it. I'd vote for the elfs...

  • MDNSResponer causing CPU to run at 100%

For a while now (ever since upgrade to 10.5) my computer seems to be always running its fan. It's very sluggish and many other problems. So, today I finally decided to start the activity monitor and take a look at things. Low and behold my processor is pegged out at 100%. The guilty parting seems to be a process named "mDNSResponder".
Anybody know what this process is and why it constantly has my computer CPU running at 100%, and what to do about it?
    Thanks,
    Rich

  • Clicking on certain links will cause Firefox to crash on exit. These are normal links, not malformed or maliciously constructed links

Any link of the following form will not execute the link: http://www.unmannedspaceflight.com/index.php?act=attach&type=post&id=23352. After attempting this, exiting Firefox will cause CPU to go to 50% on a dual core machine. This is confirmed on 3 separate machines. Links of the following format will work: http://roadtoendeavour.wordpress.com/2010/12/18/how-oppy-rolled-up-to-santa-maria. This bug is present on at least the last two to three revisions of Firefox. It is necessary to manualy kill the firefox process after exiting when a link as described is used.

Problem appears to be incompatibility with the Java Console. Deleting the Java Console eliminates the problem. This also eliminated the problem with Firefox developing blank drop down menus.

  • Which will cause a higher cpu load, the sampler instrument or the original audio tracks?

I have some piano that I wanted to loop. I had no problem using the convert track to sampler instrument.  My question is about CPU performance. Which will cause a higher cpu load, the sampler instrument or the original audio tracks?

    Hi Mesaboogiewes,
    Welcome to Apple Discussions
Ableton.com recommends disabling Energy Saver, fullscreen mode, and Exposé. I would recommend putting the 1Gb of RAM, you will find a better result. I suggest going to the Ableton.com website and looking for more troubleshooting issues.
    I hope that helps,

The mdnsresponder will not quit.  Consumes above 100% CPU and kills my battery.  Also causes my fan to run constantly and my computer to get extremely hot.  Force quitting doesn't work.  It just comes back.   I posted about this earlier and never got an answer.  Somebody, please help.
    Thanks.

mDNSResponder is a background process that runs all the time. If you kill it, it's relaunched automatically.
Please launch the Console application and select "system.log" from the file list. Enter "mDNSResponder" (without the quotes) in the search field. Post a sample of the log messages in the Console window -- only one example of each repeated message, please.

  • Does debug ip OSPF adjacency will cause high CPU

    Hello All,
We are finding a OSPF flapping issue on Cisco 3750x switches. To isolate the issue TAC has suggested "debug ip ospf adj"
Does this command will cause high CPU utilization?
There are 12 OSPF neighbours connected to that switch and we have the hello interval of 1 second.
Any of your help would be appreciable.
    Regards,
    Thiyagu

It may do... But unlikely. There is always a risk with debug commands that have large output. Especially that you have hello intervals set to 1 second. I would advise to do out of hours if necessary to mitigate risks of impacting production.
What version of ios are you on and show the output of 'show proc cpu sorted'
I have had a similar experience and multicast was the problem. It was high CPU and dropping ospf adjacencies. We downgraded to 12.2 55 SE 8
It helped the problem for CPU utilisation but didn't fix it. Since then we are using 6509Es in VSS

  • Out of order when put /take packages in/from a blocking queue

    Hello all:
I put multiple packages in a blocking queue in one thread, and take them out from another thread. The in sequence is 1-2-3, the out sequence becomes 3-2-1. This is NOT a FILO pattern, there is no pattern: it could be 3-1-2, etc.
The question is: can out-of-order issue even take place when put()/take() operations impose on a blocking queue? If it's not possible, which I believe, I'll look elsewhere for the cause. Otherwise, why and how to fix it.
    Thanks,
    John

Please provide an [url http://sscce.org]SSCCE that demonstrates this.
Unless you're using a PriorityQueue or some other specialized implementation, it should be a FIFO order. Check the docs for the implementation you're using.

  • Weird Title and other errors concerning the ActiveX Packager Screen

    Hi,
Here's what I get when I run the Packager (using both 1.1.1 and 1.3 instructions)
The window pops up, saying something like "JavaBeans Bridge for ActiveX Packager version null", with the title of the frame being "frame.title".
For some JARs, I get the NullPointerException after the first step. For others, it works fine, but after I place the control in my VB Project and try to save or run it, the program crashes.
As well, when I tried to add the "beans.ocx" control back into my list of Components (it was already listed, I don't know why), I get an error saying that my ActiveX Control has not been registered as an ActiveX Control!
I also cannot locate swingall.jar. I don't think I have it and I don't know where to download just that JAR file.
Any help will be gladly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    cindybubbles

Well, here's an update: I was able to load an ActiveX Control made from simple Java code that took no files.
However, I am still having problems with integrating that OCX with the MediaPlayer from javax.media.bean.playerbean and Player from javax.media.
I am also having problems with incoporating sound from java.applet. I am, therefore, left with no choice but to leave the file handling to VB.
I'm going to test this theory by displaying images now.

I have a mid-2009 MBP and I've been using my BOSE Companion 20 with it for about half a year now. It was fine until recently, when i want to adjust the volume using the pod on the BOSE Companion 20, it will cause like a surge in volume, spiking it up and down. It will not stablise itself! It's very fustrating. Anybody with the same issue?

I have the BOSE Companion 5 speakers and have had the same problem. I've searched everywhere and gotten nowhere. My speakers are way past their warranty, so calling Bose would probably get me no where either. Only thing I can think of is that the speakers overheat which causes the spikes in the volume. I've tried unplugging them for a few minutes and then plug them back on. The problem does go away, but after about 5 minutes, same problem.

  • Links to web page in any mail message will cause Mail app to hang, and won't open Safari.

Repeatable problem on iPhone or iPad.
Any link to a web page will cause Mail to lock up and become unresponsive, and won't open the web page in Safari.
The only way out of this is to back out to the home screen, double-click on the home button, then select the Mail app icon, holding it until I can "close" it. I can then relaunch Mail and look at any message I want just like normal.  But if select any link, whether a text link or a picture in an email, the whole thing happens again.
Occurs on both my iPhone 5 and my iPad both running iOS 6.0.1.
Any suggestions that will allow me to go directly from a mail msg to a linked web page embedded within?

You ran a defective third-party "utility" that purports to "clean up" "junk" files. What it really does is to corrupt the operating system and many applications.
The first thing you need to do is remove that software according to the developer's instructions. Never install it, or anything like it, again. Then see below.
If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data, then reinstall the OS.* You don't need to erase the startup volume, and you won't need the backup unless something goes wrong. If the system was upgraded from an older version of OS X, you may need the Apple ID and password you used.
If you use FileVault 2, then before running the Installer you must launch Disk Utility and select the icon of the FileVault startup volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name.) It will be nested below another icon with the same name. Click the Unlock button in the toolbar and enter your login password when prompted. Then quit Disk Utility to be returned to the main screen.
There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
If you installed the Java runtime distributed by Apple and still need it, you'll have to reinstall it. The same goes for Xcode.
*The linked support article refers to OS X 10.9 ("Mavericks"), but the procedure is the same for OS X 10.7 ("Lion") and later.

  • A cycle is detected in the object graph.  This will cause an infinite loop.

    People,
Looking for a little guidance.  Please point me in the correct direction if I am mistaken.  I am using Jersey 2.11 and generating JAXB definitions from XSD.
I have a periodic exception that seems to be timing based.  If I change the timing of the message sent in anyway the error does not occur.  The other issue is that the cycle reported in the error changes some times, however, the cycles reported can not occur based on the XSD definition.  I have also dumped the message before sending and it definitely does not contain the cycle reported.
In this specific scenario, I am sending a message of NotificationType which contains a list of DocumentType, however, DocumentType can never contain NotificationType so the following cycle is not possible:
    net.es.nsi.pce.discovery.jaxb.DocumentType@24d793f3 -> net.es.nsi.pce.discovery.jaxb.NotificationType@7f06bc07 -> net.es.nsi.pce.discovery.jaxb.DocumentType@24d793f3]
I am wondering if there could be a different reason for receiving the following exception?
    Thank you for the help,
    John

Nonsense, and very misleading advice.  I've updated iPhone 3G, 3Gs,and 4  through itunes many times, never had a problem once, not with one single update in nearly 5 years of iPhones.  Of course, I've never jailbroken my phones either.  Hack your phone and have update problems?  I've got news for you, the problems are not a result of iTunes or Apple's updates.
