Putting big files onto your zen tou

Hey there,
yesterday I installed the zen touch playsforsure firmware & explorer and of course tried to get some files onto the zen. Pictures and small files worked, but when I tried to put a file of 3,5 GB on it, the zen gave an "unknown error" and it didn't do anything. Why isn't this possible?
(And, no, the zen is not full , i've got 5 GB left)
Greetings!

Although I'm not sure about what the exact size limit is for the file system I take it its 2gb , but if you haven't already done so Microsoft has a hotfix, for MTP players, for files which encounter an error when attempting to transfer it from the player to the computer.
Download it <a href='http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;89536' target=_blank>here[/url]
Files will transfer fine to the player but encounter an error going the other way, download the hotfix and you should be fine if you encounter that problemMessage Edited by DM on -2-2005 09:3 PM

  • Putting MIDI files onto an Ipod.

Is there a way to put MIDI files onto your Ipod?

One option is to load the midi file into iTunes (via "add to Library..." menu), and then "Convert Selection to MP3..."
Then you can treat it (the MP3 copy) the same as any other MP3 tune.
At least this works for me, with with MacOS X v.10.4 and iTunes 7.0.2.

  • Putting CD files onto my windows

A few months ago, my iTunes library crashed and all my music went missing. I recovered nearly all of it (my dad did it somehow) but I'm still missing my CDs. I have most of them, some were borrowed from friends, but seeing as how I purchase most of my music in CD form and not by digital download, I'm lost. I can import the CD into iTunes, but the files are not on my hard drive. Is that supposed to be happening? Is there a way I can put the files onto my computer somehow?
    thanks,
    amylynne

Make sure you do all the steps of importing. Following is the article from iTunes Help.
    *Importing songs from CDs*
You can import songs from your CDs into your iTunes library. Imported songs are stored on your hard disk so that you can listen to them without having the original CD in the disc drive.
To import songs from CDs into your iTunes library:
    - Insert an audio CD into your computer's internal CD or DVD drive.
    - When the list of songs appears in the iTunes window, deselect any songs you don't want to import.
    - To add the selected songs to your library, click the Import CD button (at the bottom of the iTunes window).
To cancel importing, click the small X next to the progress bar at the top of the iTunes window.
When the songs are finished importing, click the Eject symbol to the right of the CD or click the Eject Disc button (shown below) in the lower-right corner of the iTunes window.

  • Can you put any MP3 onto your phone?

I've asked someone with a 4S this, and they so far are having big difficulties.
On my phone (not an Apple device), I can use an MP3 I made.  It's made using audio editing software, and it starts with the Thunderbirds are go, and then merges into another track.  So it's rather amusing and lightens my day when I get a call and I hear it.
But I want to know if I could put that track onto an iPhone, and use it as a ring tone.
A friend has tried with her cable and with iCloud, to no avail.
With Windows/Android/Blackberry phones, doing this is truly simple.
How do you do this on the iPhone - if possible at all?

That is correct. Ringtones cannot be more than 30 seconds.

  • Cant put H264 files onto my iphone or into itunes for playback?

Im using beyond TV DVR software, they released a new feature which will convert my DVR recordings into H264 mp4 files.
    ok, that sounds awesome.
so I convert them, and just import them into itunes. easy enough!
but quicktime cant play the files it creates... when I click them, I just get a solid green image, not flashing like a google search turns up solutions for, and disableing directdraw does not fix it.
but none the less I push on. Ill just put it onto the iphone and see what it does.
no dice, when I try to sync it, I get a "this file format is not supported for playback on iphone" or something like that.
    errrr ok...
well there is that fun little option in the drop down "convert selection for ipod". figure that cant hurt right?
well when that finishes I get a new file, but this one plays back with an all white screen and gives me clear audio. this one will sync to the iphone, but it plays an all black image with audio.
    so... wth.
I want to assume the file that beyond tv is creating is incorrect right? but windows media player has no trouble with it at all. if I right click on the file properties, it is mp4 H264 codec.
having this ability sounded like the best thing since sliced bread, but I cant get it to work for the life of me...

there is not a way to transfer those playlists to that itunes library from your phone, but heres an idea to help you out.
take screen shots of the playlists on your phone then when they get deleted after the sync you'll have to re-create them but at least you'll know what was in them

  • Getting a general error message in FCE when putting .mov file onto timeline

Putting a .mov film onto the timeline above a moving image so we see the mov file playing in a reduced size in the background of whats going on ( a window). Don't know why this is happening but any advice would be appreciated!
We are really stuck so any help would be so appreciated!
    thanks.

Its converted to an mpeg4 file but i think it may be the fact it is running at 30fps as oppose to the rest of the project which is 25fps. When I try to put it on the timeline it gives me the general error and then the footage which was on below it on timeline no longer exists. Very strange.

  • Putting QT Files onto a DVD?

I have 4.7 gig, 120 minute DVDs, and need to compress 1 hour and 40 minutes of footage (I want to put the footage on my DVD as a QT file). Is MPEG4 the best way? If so, what settings do you recommend?

I am off-loading some editing work to another editor. I have about 10 hours of documentary footage and want to give the editor QT files on DVD, rather than the original tapes. He is using Premier and doesn't, I don't think, have QT7. One suggestion was to create data DVDs, i.e. just drop the QT files right onto a DVD. Is the best thing to make sure the sequences I export are under 120 minutes and 4.7 gigs? Thanks.

  • How old is your zen tou

Yeah touch owners... I was just wondering a few things...
    How old is your touch?
Have you ever had to send it in for a new battery?
The reason i ask is because i just bought a new 40 gig touch, but i'm woried because you can't replace the battery as easily as my micro battery.

Ive had my Zen Touch for about 2 months and the battery has been good...but its yet to face its biggest test of lasting throughout my 2 hours and 30 minutes of a plane trip to Hong Kong also it has to last an extra 3 hours for my time at Heathrow..so lets hope it can last 5 hours and 30 minutes at least!!! But i never get 24 hours more like 8 realistically maybe even less...but no battery problems and the sound has been great!!!

  • What is best way to put keynote files onto Apple TV?

I'm trying to get some Keynote presentation files to appear on my Apple TV (I'm studying for a test, and the material is all in Keynote files).
I recentely figured out how to impor/export the Keynote presentations into an iPhoto format, and I've been able to keep the "builds" intact, which is necessary (most of the slides are in question-answer format).  So far, I've just turned them into .tif files.
There are two problems I'm encountering:
The very top of the slide doesn't appear on Apple TV (and it's usually the top of the slide that has the "title" portion).  Can I adjust the image size when importing/exporting?
The images look a little bit blurry.  Would it work better to make then .jpg files?  (remember - I still need the "builds" to be intact)
If anybody has any ideas, please let me know.  Thanks!

The simplest way would be to use AirPlay mirroring from your iPad 2, assuming you haven't used any complex motion, transitions or builds, you won't have to do any worrying about it working.
If you still want to use photo slides, convert your presentation to one with a 16:9 aspect ratio, the jpg's you produce will then not have the top and bottoms clipped.
I'm not really sure why it's blurry for you, your text may simply be too small, the resolution is only 720p

  • Putting photos back onto your ipod (4g) using itunes windows?

Hi, I have been having troubles putting photos back on my ipod (4g). Its easy talking them off I just plug my ipod into my computer and go into the folder and copy and paste my photos onto my desktop. But I have been having a diffecult time putting those same photos back on. I Go to Itunes, click on my ipod, go to the top and sync my photos from my folder, but when I go on my ipod the photos are in there twice in two different albums and I cant delete them. Is there anyway that I can put these photos back into my camera role.

You are doing it the right way.  I think yuare seeing the photos twice since one album on the iPod contains all photos on the iPod and ther are then individual album for photos such as synced photos (you can have more than one alubum if you used subfolders in the syncing folder), the Camera Roll album, ones you created on the iPod

  • Putting .avi files onto DVD

I'm not sure if this is the correct forum for this question (and I can't seem to find any other threads about it), but I have a bunch of TV Shows in .avi format on my computer. I'd like to be able to place them on a DVD where I can simply watch them on my TV or through a DVD drive. Is there a way to do that with iDVD or is it iMovie that I need? Thanks for any help!

I might be able to help...
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=2091550&#2091550
a post discussing playing .avi files. Download the divx component to enable Quicktime to play majority of .avi files. Anything that Quicktime still can't play can be played in VLC.
I had 3 .avi movies, one widescreen, and couldn't burn them in iDVD. They previewed, tho, so I converted the widescreen into .mov using Quicktime (Pro only?). Quality was still good. Without converting the other 2 .avi files, I easily burned all 3 (1 .mov and 2 .avi) using iDVD.
My theory is that iDVD can burn .avi files, just as long as 1)they play perfectly in Quicktime and 2)at least one .mov file is included in the burning.
But I've no idea why this worked, and it was the only time I tried it, so it might not work. Although the 3 .avi files were exact same format (DivX 6.0)
You can use an iPod converter, like iSquint, to convert any .avi file into iPod format, which obviously plays in quicktime. Just make sure H.264 is unchecked, since it degrades quality for TV viewing.
oh yeah, iDVD burning and Quicktime converting takes really long! I had to leave my iMac on overnight once for each.
    Hope this helped
    peace

  • Putting files onto the remote server vs. the testing server

I have a testing server defined in my site that can only be accessed internally within the company. When I preview my pages, it automatically loads them onto the testing server and when I ask opinions about the changes I have made, my co-workers can go to that web address on our internal FTP site.
But when I want to take those same files and put them onto our live site, I can't figure out how. I also connect to that site through FTP and have defined it in the remote server location. How do I put these files onto our real, live website?
I've been reading tons of help topics about this, but still can't seem to figure it out

    Hi There:
It is an easy step by step do that. Here are some really good help for you on the same:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kJhL1d9D2R4
    http://www.bgsu.edu/downloads/cio/file17760.pdf
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/Dreamweaver/10.0_Using/WSBE25912D-A9DE-4ba1-9F85-4C692F5C14ADa .html
And by the way why can't your colleagues see your site internally? if you have a testing server (is it IIS or WAMP?)  ...all you need to give them is something as following so that they can view it..
    http://yourmachinename/index.html
    or
    http://yourmachineIPAddress/index.html
I believe you all are on the same network at workplace.

  • Dragging files onto a disc

I have recently got a new lap top. This one is a MacBook Pro, my previous one was a Power Book.
With my power book, if I wanted to put a file onto a disc I would just drag it.
When I do this with this computer it only drags a thumbnail of the file, not the file itself and it's contents.
    Please help!

Thanks very much for your reply.
    Still confused though, I'm sorry.
I'm putting movies onto a DVD to burn.
With my powerbook, with each movie I dragged onto a disc the file would show up on there with the amount of MB / GB it had.
Once the disc capacity was full it would indicate that no other files could be added to the disc.
Now any file I drag on only has a thumb nail at 48KB, regardless of how big the actual file is.
Is the disc capacity filled as it is burned then?
Would I 'manually' look up the file size of each movie and add them up so I know how many can fit on the disc, or is there an 'automatic' way of knowing this as there was previously?
ETA. Oh, and just in case it makes a difference my Mac is a 10. 5.8, so not actually a 10 . 6
