  • Possible to put DVD's on IPOD VIDEO

I am wondering if it is possible to upload a DVD you own onto your IPOD....If so please help me
    Please...
    Thank you

first you need to "rip" the dvd to your computer.. then you need to convert the file to mp4 so it will be able to play on your ipod. Ipod supports mp4.. you can find both third party porgrams at www.versiontracker.com
some programs will rip and convert all in one.
    good luck.

  • Dvd ripping to put home dvds onto ipod video

ok so i was told to use "decrypter" and so i went to google and typed it in and it came up with a few results
    the first one was:
    DVD Decrypter
so i click on that and this is what it says:
"This software is no longer available, this page is stored for archival puposes only.
On 24th of November, 2005, Macrovision Europe contacted AfterDawn.com, notifying us that they have acquired full rights to the DVD Decrypter software and have changed its licensing terms. Effective immediately, they have decided to withdraw all distribution rights from all third party companies, including AfterDawn.com. Thus, distributing DVD Decrypter is now as illegal as it would be to distribute cracked copies of Windows operating system or pirated copies of games."
ok so first off what does my trying to put dvds on my ipod have to do with pirated movies and games?
    anyways
    the second result was:
    DVD Fab Decrypter
so i click on that and this is what it says:
"This software is no longer available, this page is stored for archival puposes only.
On 1st of January, 2006, a new copyright legislation came into force in Finland that made it illegal to distribute tools that allow circumvention of technical copy protections. The legislation was approved by Finnish parliament and was based on European Union Copyright Directive, a law that each EU member state has to implement to their national legislations"
So basically how the heck do i get dvds on my ipod using decrypter if it's now illegal to use it?

  • Non-protected DVD content onto iPod

Obviously with copy-protected content, we can't bring it into iTunes, but for other non-protected DVD's (training videos, my wedding video, etc), is there a simple way to compress and convert these to play on the iPod? I obviously would want it compressed to not take up space, since you shouldn't notice on the small screen...

  • DVD movies to iPod video format

I often travell on official business, I am trying to rip a DVD to my ipod. My friend told me that Sothink ipod- converter can convert DVD movies to IPod video format. I have downloaded and try it,I think the Sothink IPod Video Converter is designed to be an easy company for my IPod.

If you want a really organized package for ripping your dvds into .mp4 "ipod" format use the dvd Decrypter and Videora ipod conveter. They are very organized and they put you in control of the video/audio settings... And it couldn't be easier. Here are the links if you wanna give these FREE programs a shot
    Videora ipod converter - http://www.videora.com/en-us/Converter/iPod/
    Dvd Decrypter - http://www.mrbass.org/dvdrip/
ps... You need both because after ripping your dvd it becomes a .vob file..Ipod cannot read this so you must use videora to make it an .mp4 "ipod friendly" format.. Reply if problems occur please!!! Thanks...

  • Watch your DVD's On Ipod Video

    Hi everyone!
I found a great program that allows you to put your DVD's in IPOD VIDEO format. I took my favorite movie, Oh brother where Art Thou, and can now watch it while I'm running. On a tred mill of course. The program is called Handbrake. You can download it here:
    http://handbrake.m0k.org/
Here's a tutorial on how to use it:
    http://howto.diveintomark.org/ipod-dvd-ripping-guide/
It's alot faster then QT although QT seems to come out better. It's hard to tell the difference though.
I love my new Ipod. It's awesome!

If all you want to do is trim a clip or merge a couple of clips together, QTime Pro can do it quick and easy. However, it is not a true editing tool and the result may or may not suit your purposes. Final Cut Pro, Final Cut Express, and even iMove would provide the best result especially if you wish to add transitions, titles, A/V fades, and/or a whole host of other things. You would, however, be much better off starting with a good video source at normal video resolution here. Most common QTime can simple be dropped into say, iMove, and the application will automatically convert it to the DV format used for editing. Once finished the output can be re-coded in your preferred format at various preset sizes or you can use the expert mode to output a custom combination.

  • Putting dvds to my ipod

i need help really bad! can someone suggest a free program that i can use that will put dvd movies onto my ipod and that is relatively easy to use? like is there a program where i put the dvd into the computer and then like click a button and it saves it to my computer in the right format and puts it in my ipod. thanks to all that help me

You have to decrypt the DVD. Google DVDFab Decrypter. As for converting the DVD to iPod compatible format, Google Videora iPod Converter.
Hope this helps. (Sorry, I was a bit lazy on this post, but I'm really tired, and just wanted to attempt to help one last user before I went to bed.)

  • Can i watch whole movies(dvds) in my ipod video?

i would really like to watch whole movoes (dvds) in my ipod video but i don't know if its possible?

Yes it's possible but I'm still playing with geting it to work. As I understand it, you need one peice of software to rip the DVD to your PC, and then the Videora software to convert it to the mp4 format that the iPod can read. www.videora.com (I think that's the site) has a walk through on the process there.
My first attempt works find for the video but I didn't get sound, so I need to figure out what I did wrong.

  • How do I put DVD's onto my iPad?

I am wondering if there is a way to put DVD movies onto my iPad. Apple Support said there were some apps that could do it but he could not advise me beyond that. It seems like if you can put your CD's on there, then why would you not be able to with DVD's? I don't want to have to rebuy Toy Story, etc. for my kid for a trip we are going on when I already bought the DVD!

Toy Story etc. are commercial DVDs. The process is not the same as ripping a CD. This process involves breaking the encryption and that is not legal. Regardless discussion of such is not permitted on these forums

  • Help putting dvd onto ipod video

  • Putting DVD's into IPOD?

Am I able to put a DVD's content into my IPOD? I tried placing a DVD (from a DVD ROM drive). I downloaded the content onto my Laptop (INSPIRON 8500 - I know, I should of bought the Mac) I can play the DVD on my lap top, but when I put the content onto the hard drive- I can't read it.
    HELP
    Thanks!
Inspiron 8500, G3   Windows XP Pro

Quicktime or Quicktime Pro (which iTunes uses) don't convert "muxed" ( muxed means multiplexed where the audio and video are stored on the same track) video files properly. It only plays the video and not the audio. DVDs will be muxed.
You need a 3rd party converter to convert the file with both audio and video.
See this for help: Guide to converting video for iPod (Mac/Windows).
