Putting films and tv series on the iPad

Hello,
ive downloaded a few tv series to watch on my iPad whilst im away travelling.
I'm just wondering what the best way to reformat them is an how to put them on the iPad?
Also if i can download them in mp4 format is it simple enough to put them on that way?

I'm going to go off that they are from iTunes. And there many ways you can move music and videos to your device.
One way is to 1sy have your device already plugged into the computer that your getting the videos from. Ones int plugged open the devises infor from the left side of iTunes. Ones that is dones on the top you will see the tabs for your music, videos, and photos. Go to the videos and check the sync box. Ones that checked if you want all videos ln your computer just click sync on the lower right. If you want just a selected ones check off what you want to download.
If you have custom manage music and videos. Then fallow this step. Still have the device plugged in. On the left on iTunes. Go to videos. Click and slide the movies you want ontop of your apple device.
If you videos are not showing in iTunes the the video are not compatible with apple devices. If that's the case you need to get a program to change the video format.

The Photos tab doesn't appear there. If you are on iTunes 11 on your computer then you may want to re-enable the left-hand sidebar via View > Show Sidebar (option-command-S on a Mac, control-S on a PC), which might make it easier to navigate and my instructions may make more sense.
To sync photos, connect and select your iPad on the left-hand side of your computer's iTunes (if you've enabled the sidebar), and on the right-hand side there should be a series of tabs, one of which should be Photos e.g. :
If you select that tab you can then select which photo folders to sync to the iPad. There is a bit more info on this page. You will need to sync all the photos that you want on the iPad together in one go as only the most recent photo sync remains on the iPad - synced photos can't be deleted directly on the iPad, instead they are deleted by not including them in the next photo sync.
If you haven't enabled the sidebar, then from your library click 'iPad' at the top right of the screen and you should get a series of buttons along the top of the screen, including one for Photos

As a Quadriplegic I keep dropping my mouth stick on the ground and I fumble for my phone when it rings the table on my wheelchair is cluttered with my iPad iPhone mouth stick and TV and AC remotes I want to be able to put my iPhone in my bag and receive calls threw the iPad.
All new electric wheelchairs allow you to pair the joystick or chin control of the chair to only one device so currently you have to sacrifice your use of one to use the other if we can pair the iPhone and iPad by wifi we can then sit the iPad in a mount on our wheelchairs and pair it ia bluetooth and operate them with ease .
Can anyone out there help me or pass on my needs to a development team within Apple, please help as I don't want to have to buy the ASUS tablet/phone

I would like to be able to do this also but, i'm not sure how to set my iPad to manually sync for one thing and also, when I connect my iPad to my new (recently purchased,first time,new to this) iMac it only gives me the option to either set up as 'new' or 'restore to my recent iPhone back up'. Went to Settings where?
If you want to use your exisiting Apple ID on your iPad, you need to:
1. Go to Settings>iTunes & App Store and sign out the new ID, and then sign on the old one
2. Go to Settings>iCloud, scroll to the bottom and delete the iCloud account, and the sign back onto iCloud using the old ID
You still have not indindated why you are saying that using your old ID originally "didn't work". What do you mean by that? Did you get some sort of error when you tried to sign on with your exisiting Apple ID?

You can't use an external hard drive like you would with a computer.
You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)
When you first connect the USB flash drive, you will only see thumbnails of the pics on the iPad; you have to import the pic file to see the full size. With your large library of pics, you will have to do this repeateably and then delete pics so you don't exceed your memory capacity.

In the manual it says "log in to your computer user account before connecting iPad". I am the only user of this PC...does this mean some other user account. I am confused. If you are the only user on your computer you probably don't have multiple user accounts set up and can disregard that. If you are using iTunes 11 go to View>Show Sidebar. Now see if your iPad appears under Devices on the left side when you connect it. If it does, click on the name of your iPad on the left side and your iTunes sync settings options will appear in folders with tabbed headings to the right.

Those are the instructions for your computer's iTunes (i.e. using the Store menu at the top of your computer's iTunes and selecting 'View My Account' on it). If you are doing it on your iPad then are you following the instructions for iOS devices :
To unhide your purchases
Depending on the content type, open the App Store, iBooks, or iTunes Store on your device.
Scroll to the bottom of the main page.
If you're not already signed in, tap Sign In.
Tap your Apple ID name, then tap View Account.
Scroll down on the Account pane, and tap Hidden Purchases.
Locate the item you would like to unhide then tap the Unhide button.

I just got the iBooks update and that fixed the problem, except the book covers look like they were done in a government printing office.

But I must point out that leaving the iPhoto Library on the external is worth considering. Your internal drive would be better off without having to carry the photos.
When you booted with the external connected and you were asked for the library, did you try navigating to the Library in on the external drive?

Apps are only tied to one account... You can set up two iTunes accounts on your computer, however, and let his iPad sync to his account. If he has never backed up his apps to a computer, however, he will have to redownload all the apps. Afterwards, he can backup to iCloud instead of your computer.

no, there currently is no way of doing this. You can only create a second Apple ID.

I need to find away were my students that are working on a project can export the files and save them somewhere, so when they 7 days later open Garage band can import there song with all the correct midi-tracks. When I export the song to Icloud the song become an Mp4 file (I think). And I can import the files via Icloude.
This is because too many times the song has been sabotages during the week

your students could store their projects in iCloud, only you would continously have to change the AppleIDs of the iPads, so each student could store the songs with their own AppleID. I don't think this will be feasable.
The other possibility would be to share the projects to iTunes and to download them to iTunes on a Mac at the end of each lesson. Does your school have Macs? This will not work with PCs.

Have you tried resetting your iPad?
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10-15 seconds).
No data will be lost.
