anybody got any tips about putting lyrics under a melody line in score view. i have to notate a few songs for a publisher with lyrics.

The Music app on iOS 6 doesn't support lyrics (it was removed in iOS 5 for some reason) - you can try leaving feedback for Apple id if it's something that you'd like to have back : http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html
In the meantime, there may be third-party music apps in the store that support lyrics.

The Music app on iPads doesn't currently support lyrics, so you will need to find a third-party music app in the store that does support them.

Lookout 6.02 stops putting alarms in the alarm window after running awhile

This system has worked fine for a couple of years (well except for not being able to print alarms -but we will tackle that later)
What appears to be happening is that on restart everything looks good and we have alarms visable in the alarms window. But, after awhile say an hour or so, the alarms stop showing up in the window.
I believe this has slowly crept up to this point as the Customer has on occassion stated that an alarm was not in in the window even though you could see it on the main system screen.
Running Windows Xp Pro.

After an hour or so, do all alarms stop showing up in Alarm Window?
Could you let the customer check the alarm database by MAX? Create an Alarm Viewer and check if the missing alarm is in the database.
The customer can also follow this KB to check the settings.

Score window in page mode shows only part of the composition

I have an on going issue in Logic X: The score in page mode mostly refuses to show more than a couple of pages.
There does not seem to be a logical reason for this. Deleting the score window and replacing it by another one shows the same issue,
but on a different page.

Based on your description, it may be a compatibility issue. I suggest that you first check the issue in IE Compatibility View mode. Please refer to the following steps to troubleshooting this issue:
1. Launch the IE, and press Alt+T to select the Tools.
2. Click Compatibility View settings.
3. Check the “Display intranet sites in Compatibility View” option, and click Close.
Alternatively, please to do this, click Alt+T and select Compatibility View or add the http://<ServerName> URL to the Compatibility View list.

How do I put lyrics on my creative z

I'm pretty sure you can because there is a guide on how to do it, but I tried what they said to do with windows media player and it's not working. So how do you put lyrics on the creative zen mp3 player?
Unless I'm trying to view them wrong?If?you attach them to the file using windows media player, how would you view them?

For reasons unknown to me, iTunes does not support pasting into the Lyrics field by means of right-clicking.
What you have to do after copying the text, is go to the Lyrics field and press
b Ctrl
and
b V
together. That should take care of the pasting.

How can I put favicons on the bookmarks bar?

I am used to seeing favicons next to my bookmarks--in fact, I have several that have favicons only (such as Google Reader, ESPN). Can this happen with Safari (Windows)? After favicons, seeing all text bookmarks on the bookmarks bar is so 2000s.

Read the response by Jim VanLeeuwen, but I might add a few comments:
(a) Lyrics on the Touch are only supported if you have firmware 2.0 or later.

Must be a bug in the Score display

This is a continuation of my exploring the problem previously posted re the display of all instruments in a 2 track score (see previous topic).
I tried a new experiment and am now convinced it is some kind of bug. Here is what I did:
1. Closed LE8. Trashed the Logic Express preferences in Home/Library/com.apple etc. Emptied trash and restarted LE8.
2 Started a brand new composing project: 2 software instrument tracks. Chose from the library: flute for track 1 and classical guitar for track 2.
3. Entered a few notes in each track using the step input keyboard. I then opened the score view and voila! there were both tracks. The All Instruments dropdown menu was showing as selected.
4. Then I selected one of the tracks to view the settings, and the score view reverted to a single staff again! I changed NO preferences or selections, other than clicking on Track 1 or 2.
5. This has got to be a bug. Any ideas???

Err, so where's the problem, Herb?
It's normal that Logic just displays one staff if you select a track. Just double click somwhere on a "blank piece of paper" inside the score window, and you'll be switched back to all instruments.

In need of putting lyrics over video..

I posted a discussion yesterday, and I need to know pronto this is for a friend's assignment that is due Monday...I need to be able to put lyrics at the bottom over video, I've tried doing this with titles but it won't let me put them for short enough and close enough together so I can have a continuation of lyrics (that obviously change/not the same words over and over) throughout the whole video,
any help would be very much appreciated!! I'm using imovie '08.

The card is PCI Express 2. Your Mac Pro has just standard PCI Express. However, that doesn't matter , since PCI Express 2 was designed to be compatible with standard PCI Express. Any PCI Express card (2.0 or not) can be used in any PCI Express slot (2.0 or not). Of course you only get 2.0 speed if the card and slot are both 2.0.
PCI slot 1 (the lower slot) in your Mac Pro is a 16x slot, and will provide plenty of speed for the card. It is unlikely that an older Mac Pro could send data any faster than that slot could handle. The new Mac Pros have faster memory, and might be able to use the extra speed of PCI Express 2.0.

Urgent Request: Unable to view staves in score window

Hi, sorry this is a very newbie question, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to get the staves to show up in the score window. I want to be able to manually type notes in but no staves show up until I actually hit record and play on the keyboard. I'm still quite new to Logic and coming from Cakewalk Sonar. I have to have a piece done very soon and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Use the pencil tool to create an empty MIDI region on a suitable track in the Arrange window. Drag the right-hand edge to size it to approximately the length of the music you intend to enter. Then, with your new (empty) region selected, open a linked Score window.

Can i edit a synched video from plural eyes in the source window first?

I synched my audio and video files in plural eyes which gave me a synched fill or sequence which is great, but I really want to edit it in the source window before putting it into the Program window. How can I edit it in the source window first?

You mean trim it? Like grabbing a certain section of the syned clip?
If so, bring it up on the source monitor, go to your in point and click "I" and then go to your out point and click "O". Then grab the preview image and drag it to your timeline. You can also press "," or "." to bring it down there.

Score Window: Thru Instrument no longer changes when changing tracks

Today is my 8th day working in the score window and all of the sudden the thru instrument no longer changes to the track (stave) selected in the score window.
What button/key command did I press and how do I get the previous behaviour back?

some of theswe 'inconsistencies' are there for a reason:
- because that is the way the program evolved
- because they are not inconsistencies on another level or work flow.
also you should be aware that logics philsophy is to be customizable. in general it is almost always possible to set something up so that it behave you would like or expect it to. there problems inherent with this kind of philosophy, but it is what makes logic unique and very flexible.
i would strongly advise you to start perusing the ley command list at every possible moment. reassign key commands so that they behave more consistently for you. for example i have developed my own heirarchy of key commands:
- single strokes for all the most commonly invoked key commands and opening of editors.
- any other editor or subeditor i will use the 'shift' modifier (ie for me shift means open...)
- then complex modifiers for actions that are quite drastic, such as merge etc.
i try to keep all KCs relevant to their function...so for example
c = convert
m = mute
q = open event editor (ok not that one so much)
finally, when in doubt customize, customize, customize.

Score Window goes back to full

Ever since i have owned 7, i have never figured out how to solve this annoying new problem. Among others, i like to have a score window open along side of an arrange window. With the chain link on, i click on a lick i just recorded , but unless i DOUBLE click the object, i often see the FULL score instead. Even when i fiddle with different chain configs, it always sneaks into this mode where the score window wants to display a FULL score. In thick arrangements with a lot of unmerged licks, the result has even crashed the song on some occations. If this is solvable...then WHY didn't i seek help before? Please help.

Make sure that you have the Yellow (Show Contents) link enabled, not the Pink one and lock the screenset.

Default sharps in score window instead of flats?

Hi,
Can I change the default notation( in Preferences?) in the score window in that way that when inserting "notes-in-between" they get a sharp symbol instead of a flat symbol. f.e. a G sharp instead of a A flat? Now the dfault notationis in "flats"

All I can find relating to this is to do an enharmonic shift to convert all the flats to their equivalent sharps:
To enharmonically change the root of chord symbols
Select the chord.
Do one of the following:
Choose Attributes > Accidentals > Enharmonic Shift: # (or use the Enharmonic Shift: # key command, default assignment: Shift-Page Down).
Choose Attributes > Accidentals > Enharmonic Shift: b (or use the Enharmonic Shift: b key command, default assignment: Shift-Page Up).

Trigger a applescript or Quickeys event from a Logic Express SCORE WINDOW

I am using a wireless bluetooth midi device that sends a note on C60 midi command to logic express. I have the automation set to trigger the next note in the score window by just having a note on C60 trigger the RIGHT ARROW key. I want to trigger a Applescript, Quickey or start a video when the SCORE reaches a certain point. It could also be at the end of that score as well.
I am really stuck and ANY help would be greatly appreciated.

Have partially answered my own question- have worked out how to change note sizes to the smaller cue-type display, not quite sure how to designate them non-playing though still appearing in the score though.
