  • Putting movies and tv shows onto my iphone in Canada

    I live in Canada.
I am having trouble putting videos onto my iphone. The computer will allow me to select the tv shows that i want to transfer to my iphone, but will not move them over when i sync them.
Using the advanced menu, the "create iphone version" is greyed out and not available. There is a "create aac version" available. When selected, itunes informs me that it cannot convert protected videos into other formats.
Is there any way that i can watch videos i bought on itunes on my iphone? I have only had one computer and one iphone. They have up to date software. This glitch does not occur with all videos, only certain ones. For example, "Air farce" will sync, but "CSI miami" will not.
I can still sync movies to "sparky", my 5 year old video ipod with a 1/2 hr battery life.
The movies and tv shows were formerly able to sync to my iphone and i last did so in August.

  • How can i make apple tv 3 store all my purchased movies and tv shows onto a hard drive somewhere in my house

Currently my apple tv 3 downloads movies/shows when I want to watch them.  I'd prefer if it downloaded everything already and it is all available locally without having to download gigabytes from the internet.
Q: How can i make apple tv 3 store all my purchased movies and tv shows onto a hard drive somewhere in my house?
    a) Impossible
    b) Link my apple tv 3 to a computer running itunes
    c) Link my apple tv 3 to my Apple Time Machine
    d) purchase an external USB drive and plug it directly to the apple tv 3
    e) purchase a NAS drive and configure the apple tv 3 to use it
    f) [your answer here]
    Thank you,

    Hi! Dwagner, once again ...
I've just got my Mac last friday ... i'm still getting amazed with this new world to me ... eehe .. quite different ... but
... "i can do it, i can do it" eheeh
i'm in that period that a new question appears at almost every mouse click ... lol
so ... can you help me (once again) ..
you said you had your hard drive with this settings...
"You can partition for OSX (extended Journal) - read/write by only OSX or read only by Windows via BootCamp
You can partition for Windows (NTFS) - readable by only Windows
OR - you can format with ex-FAT and this is read/write capable for both operating systems."
how did you formated the partition in NTFS ? ... on the mac? using the "disk utility" ? or did you use another program to do so ...?
i hope i'm not "bugging" you ... this might be a silly question for most of people ... but right now ... it's a major question for me ... ehehe
    once again Obrigado (Thank You)

  • Itunes 7.1 deleted all movies and tv shows from ipod!

Just updated Itunes to 7.1 - and found out too late that both movies and tv shows were suddenly unchecked for the sync. I've always had them on auto sync before this and did not change any settings.
So when I synched for the first time with 7.1, I lost my 20gb of videos from the ipod (60gb). Extremely annoying.
They're still in the library but it will take hours to get them back to the ipod.
Anybody else got this? Is this a bug on 7.1 or did I just do something wrong?

  • Can "New" Corner Banner Be Removed From Movies and TV Shows?

After loading 7 seasons of The Big Bang Theory on iTunes 11, I see that iTunes has now slapped a Blue "New" banner on the upper right corner of all my new season titles of The Big Bang Theory (see attached photo) …. and I also see that after loading the TV Shows to my iPhone, that now the iPhone TVShow listing has a little blur indicator, showing the number of "New" episodes in each season.
The question is …. is there any way to eliminate the iTunes Blue "New" banner, thus also eliminating the blue oval notices on my iPhone as well?

I am not sure how to do that. I have it only in itunes at present. Can I access it other ways?
You burn them as you would any other data file on your computer. I'm using a different OS version than you so specifics probably won't help. Therei's probably a way in finder to create a burn folder, add items to it, then burn them to disc.
Also - how do I burn movies and tv shows onto disc to watch on a dvd player in our lounge room? help please
Niel answered this one already. You can't. They are protected against being played any other way than Apple approves.

  • How can i add videos, movies and tv shows episodes to my ipod nano?I want to know whether i can directly add them through my pc or not without downloading them from i tunes store?

how can i add videos, movies and tv shows episodes to my ipod nano?I want to know whether i can directly add them through my pc or not without downloading them from i tunes store?

Yes, you can add your own videos to iTunes, then sync them to your nano, subject to supported max resolution limit and file type.  The specs for the 7th gen nano says (I don't know which nano model you have), Video Format Support
"H.264 video: 720 by 576 pixels, 30 frames per second; Baseline, Main, and High-Profile level 3.0 with AAC-LC audio up to 256 Kbps; 48kHz; stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats
MPEG-4 video: up to 2.5 Mbps, 720 by 576 pixels, 30 frames per second; Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 256 Kbps; 48kHz; stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats"
    http://www.apple.com/ipod-nano/specs.html
(earlier nanos have lower max resolution limits)
So, "HD" video is too high resolution, so iTunes will not sync such videos to the iPod (although they play in iTunes).  If you are asking how to set up iTunes to sync videos in general (regardless of source), please post back.

  • Movies and TV Shows Missing form iPod menu -- what's up with that?

I purchased my fist movie and TV episode last night to see how well I will like them on my iPod classic. I am connecting to the most up to date version of iTunes on my IBM/Win XP computer.
I watched the episode (Journeyman's first episode -- missed it on Monday...it's not bad) and was pleased. Then watched Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy -- also enjoyable even at the small size (especially the opening sequence which emulates "home movie" style in a very small frame).
Near the end of the movie, my iPod battery was giving up the ghost, so I paused the movie and plugged in. After waiting out the "Do not disconnect..." syncing process the main menu finally appeared on the iPod -- but the Movie and TV Shows selections were conspicuously missing from the menu! I have not seen my Movie/TV episode since.
They are in the iTunes library, obviously, but they simply never show up in the iPod menu. So far I have sync'd a number of times -- the sync settings were originally set by default to sync all songs, podcasts, TV Shows, Movies, Songs, etc... I tried "tweaking" these but to no avail. All syncs result in no Movie or TV Shows on the iPod menu.
Most recently I tried deleting all material from the iPod and then re-syncing all material back to the iPod (no help) and lastly I tried resetting to factory default settings (which originally seemed to work just fine) still to no avail.
When I select Settings >> Main Menu ... from the iPod main menu, the configuration screen also does not contain options for Movies or TV Shows.
It all makes me say "Hmmmm...." and leaves me reluctant to waste money on video media (though thank god my Tiki TV podcasts are still coming through just fine ... no Lala? I don't think so!). Nope, check that! video podcasts are not coming through either. GEEZE!
Has anyone experienced this before? Again, I've updated all iPod and iTunes software. Nothing "funky" seemed to happen to cause the problem, other than it conincided with plugging my iPod in (which kicks off the blasted sync process -- geeze these settings are a pain...I'd prefer the blasted thing to just sync on demand) >:-( Any help/suggestions would be most appreciated. Without a solution, I'll never be able to keep up with Journeyman!
    Thanks

I can't remember exactly what I did. I do know that when I started it up, I couldn't find the Setup Assistant on the hard drive,
No, once a user has been created, you can't run Setup Assistant  (without erasing and reinstalling).
What do you recommend for fixing this?
    Here's what's happened:
When you first start up a Mac and create the first user account, OSX assigns it UID (User ID) #501.  The next one gets #502, etc.  Those UIDs (not the user name) are what control permission to files.
You can see those numbers via System Prefs > Users & Groups;  click the padlock and enter your Admin password, then select an account and right-click it, and select Advanced Options.  Do not change anything on that window.
So . . . assume your old iMac had a user 501 with the data you want; it's identified that way on the backups.
When the Apple Store started up your new Mac, and created their account, it became #501.
When you used Migration Assistant to transfer the 501 account from the iMac's backups, OSX copied everything there "as is" except it had to change the 501 to 502.
The new 502 account has all the right permissions to things now in it's home folder, but the backups belong to user 501.
Have you added much to the Mac since you did the migration?  Have you done any new backups?  If not, while it's a bit of a hassle, one fix would be to create yet another user account temporarily.  Make it an Admin account.  Log on to it and delete all the other accounts.  Then migrate the accounts from your backups; this time there won't be a conflict, so OSX won't have to change the UUID(s).
But if you have done new backups, this won't work, since Migration Assistant automatically uses the most recent backup.  There's a way around that, but it's a bit (or more) tedious.
    Clear as mud?

  • My new Ipod touch will not sync movies and tv shows from Itunes

When I try to transfer movies and tv shows I bought from Itunes I get the message saying that my device is not compatible.
I have been on the phone to Itune support for about 30hours++ . I have been reissued a new Ipod touch but this problem is reoccuring.
I registered my new Ipod touch under another account but I have activated home sharing on my computer.
Can anyone suggest anything that Apple support cannot solve Thanks

What happens when you try to connect to the Wi-Fi? Any error messages? Have you tried a hard reset of the iPod?  To do this, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.
Otherwise, work through the remaining troubleshooting suggestions in this Apple support document.

  • How do you move just your movies and tv shows to an external hard drive and have iTunes recognize that that is where that media is (keeping music on the internal hard drive itself and putting only movies and tv shows on an external hard drive)?

I'm not sure about how to get iTunes to recognize that my music is in one location (on my MacBook's internal hard drive) and my movies and tv shows are in another (on an external hard drive I purchased).  I know how to make iTunes recognize that all of my iTunes files are on an external hard drive, but not only some of them.  Please help me out.  Thanks.

While you can do that, it is not a feature of iTunes.  Put your movies on the external drive, then add them to iTunes by dragging the files to iTunes while holding the option (alt) key down so it leaves the files where they are located.  There are other ways to move them if they are already added but they can be more involved and tricky.  If it's just one or two try:  http://dougscripts.com/itunes/scripts/ss.php?sp=relocateselected

  • Problem syncing TV shows onto iPod

I can sync my movies and music all onto my ipod, but I cannot sync my TV shows, even ones that I purchased. The TV shows have a little blue circle right next to each episode. I can watch the show on my computer and access the file on my computer, but cannot load them onto my ipod.

I had auto sync on lol!

  • HT1329 Moving movies and tv shows to new computer.

If I move my iTunes library to another computer using my iPod in disk mode, will it move my movies and tv shows as well? Any help would be appreciated.

They should be under the same iTunes folder as your music, in 'TV Shows' and 'Movies' sub-folders - you can find the exact location by doing 'get-info' (control-I) on one of them and the file location should be shown on the bottom of the Summary tab, or just right-click on a film or tv show and select 'Show In Windows Explorer' from the pop-up.
You can then copy them to a CD, DVD, flash drive or external drive and copy them onto your new computer and into iTunes (films and TV shows can be copied to a DVD for backup purposes but you won't be able to play them in a normal DVD player). If you have a wifi network in your house you might also be able to copy them via home sharing over your network (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527), but depending on how many films and tv shows there are it might be quicker via a disk or external/flash drive.

  • Downloading movies and TV shows

How do you download free movies and TV shows to rent onto an iPod Touch? I can't find it in iTunes...

When I try to sync tv shows to my Ipod touch I'm only given options such as "most viewed" "most recent" "least 3 watched" etc. Is there a way to pick exactly which TV shows I upload when syncing. Thanks
_Apologies..this shouldn't have been a response but a new post._

  • Backing up movie and tv shows I purchased

I know that I can burn songs that I download from Itunes to cd, but what about movies and tv shows that I buy? Can those be burned to dvd for back up, in case of computer crashing and such?

When backing up videos from itunes, it has to be burned as a data file.
You cannot put the tv shows or movies onto a dvd so they can be played in a dvd player.
Also, burning as a data file takes less space so you can put more files on a disk.
The best way to do this is to create a playlist to add your movies or tv shows to.
Then you can burn the playlist to a cd or dvd.
    Hope this helps.

  • Can't Find Movies and TV Shows From iCloud in 11.1.1

Before the recent update to iTunes 11.1.1 I had undownloaded the movies and tv shows that I purchased in iTunes on my account, under the premises that I could retrieve them via iCloud (I tried this and it worked). After the update to 11.1.1 iTunes no longer shows any of the movies or TV Shows that I had purchased and and it shows the value of the movie/tv show when I go to the itunes store in an attempt to redownload those that were purchased. My account details show my past purchases and the movies and tv shows are there, but the ghost files that were supposed to represent the movies and tv shows I undownloaded are not there. Maybe I am not finding where they are, but I would like to be able to view/download them so I can put them on my iPod.
I also recently bought a new iPod and it has all of the movies and tv shows that I purchased available on it, but not downloaded to it (I can watch them from my iPod). Can someone explain to me how this works and why my purchases are not showing up in my iTunes library on my Macbook Pro? I am logged in on the account that I purchased everything with.

    iTunes prefs > Store.
Tick Show iTunes in the cloud Purchases.

  • ITunes Videos (Both Movies and TV Shows) are skipping/ studdering.

iTunes Videos (Both Movies and TV Shows) are skipping/ studdering.
These videos were taken from my hard drive, converted with Format Factory, then placed in itunes.
ON ipad the videos playback perfectly, but in itunes itself it fails drastically.
Same problem happens with quicktime. If i open these videos up with quicktime, it studders and skips, while if i open it with VLC, it works fine.
I have already disabled 3d acceleration, which helped a very small bit.
The Rest of itunes runs smoothly, just video playback is screwed

Intel i5 quad core processor 2.53 ghz
    6 gb ddr3 ram
    Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
    Itunes 10.5.1
    Quicktime 7.7.1

    Update
It turns out that the reason for not playing TV shows and movies is not the network.
Something happened with the files while copying them from the Macbook to the NAS station.
I noticed that after copying a TV show from the NAS Station back onto the Macbook Air drive; it was not possible to import that file into iTunes. iTunes ignored importing that file.
On the other side the TV shows will be played by Quicktime, either from the NAS station or from the Macbook.
It might be important to mention that the NAS station is not OSX formatted.
Does someone know what happened ?
