Putting Movies on iTunes?

I have tried everything to try and put movies on iTunes so I could put them on my iPod Touch. I do not want to download any new applications on my computer to burn DVDs to my computer. I am trying to put a DVD movie on my iPod and I had searched up help many times on the Support part of the site and the search engine but I cannot find the right thing. If anyone could possibly help me with this, I would be very grateful.
Thank you.

  • Put movies in itunes on one computer why does it not show up when i access itunes from other computers or ipad2?

put movies in itunes on one computer why does it not show up when i access itunes from other computers or ipad2?

i just purchased a file that had videos in it. i put them in the itunes library on my pc where i first downloaded them. i was able to transfer them to my other pc, a laptop, through my home network. i am now trying to get them on my mac pro desktop and my ipad2. my mac pro can see the other computers on my home network but i cannot get it to connect to them. i know the operating systems are different but was hoping i could transfer pictures and files from pc to mac this way. haven't been able to get it to work yet. the videos i am trying to get my mac to see came in a folder with both mac and pc versions. i thought if i got the videos i purchased into itunes that i would then be able to get them to my mac pro and my ipad2. i am new to mac/apple and have always been pc-centric so trying to marry it all has been difficult. i speak pc pretty well but am just learning apple. am i trying to do things that are not possible? i sure could use a knowledgable friendly soul to walk me through my issues of having pc and mac on the same network. i have been able to get all computers and ipad to print on my network. thanks.

  • When will apple put movies on iTunes Australia?

cmon i have been waiting for ages for apple to put movies on australian iTunes. When will the do it?

The lack of Movies and TV shows is not unique to Australia by any means. The reason that stores for different countries have different content is due to restrictions placed on Apple by the record companies, film companies, TV companies and other copyright holders. These are quite often completely different from country to country and therefore all require their own individual contract negotiations. The varying content is not imposed by Apple, who would have a much easier job if they only had to maintain one multi-national store and deal with one set of licensees. However I believe the plan that was announced when the Movies were introduced is to roll them out to other stores sometime this year. However whether or even if the Australian and UK stores etc. get them in 2007 will depend on the negotiations with the film distributors for each region.

  • How to put movie in itunes

I have a dvd that I imported to my computer using handbreak, but it wont open in itunes. How can I put it in itunes so that I can sync it to my iPod Touch?

Sounds like an issue you may need to take up in the Handbrake forums, then, presuming other videos work in iTunes without problems.

  • How do i put movies from itunes on my ipad, but keep them off my ipod?

I'm sort of new to this whole ipad thing so please be patient with me.  I have been using itunes for my ipod for years now, but just recently purchased a new ipad.  I have alot of digital copy movies that i would like to put on it, but i dont want them to automatically transfer to my ipod also when i plug it in.  Can someone please tell me what needs to be done for this?

Simply configure the iPod to not sync movies by disabling the Sync Movies option from under the iPod's Movies configuration tab in iTunes. To access this tab, plug your iPod in and click on it from Devices in the left hand pane of iTunes. Over to the right in the main iTunes window section, locate the Movies tab along the top and select it.  At the top of this tab is the option to Sync Movies.
Make sure it has NO check mark and apply the changes if necessary by clicking the Apply button in the lower right hand corner.

  • Putting Movies in iTunes

I'm able to put small movie clips in iTunes from another music downloader, all I do is open it up with iTunes but I recently tried adding episodes of Soth Park and The Simpsons to the iTunes video but it won't do it. Is there any other way to add these files to the video section?

    I would...
    Send Apple Your Feedback
But no, the iPod will organize the videos into Movies, TV Shows, Music Videos, or Video Podcasts.
Hopefully Apple will get a glitch fixed that prevents videos you set as TV Shows (that were not purchased) from getting onto your iPod.
Then you would be able to go to Videos-->TV Shows-->Seinfeld and select the episode you want.
Music Videos are organized by artist though.

  • HT2729 how do i get the old itunes back as i can not put movies into itunes now that i have loaded the new itunes

i used to hold down alt whilst draging the movie into the menu at the left side of itunes now that menu is no longer there

the movie file now shows up in home videos within the movie folder so all my movies are in the movie file in itunes except the new ones now go into movie/home video itunes since i updated itunes
As implied above, if you do not use a metadata tagging utility and share or import your files directly to iTunes the new files are automatically tagged as "Home Videos" during the import process but you can still use iTunes to make them appear in the same directory as your other movies just as you always could chage their display directory. Simply...
    1) select the "Movies/Home Videos" tab in the main window,
    2) select any/all of the videos you want moved,
    3) select the "File/Get Info" menu option (or press "Command-I") to open the "Information" window,
    4) select the "Options" tab in the "Information" window
    5) Select the "Movie" option in the "Video Kind" pop-up, and
    6) Press the "OK" button to move all items selected in step #2 above to your "Movie" directory and close the "Information" window.
If you use a metadata tagging utility to add tags to your videos before import to iTunes, then pre-assign the "Movie" Media Kind tag to your files before import to iTunes. If you use a metadata tagging utility to tag files after import to iTunes, then manually set the "Movie" Media Kind option in that app and let it update the iTunes "Movie" directory. If the metadata tagging utility has not yet been updated to recognized files pre-assigned to the "Home Videos" directory, then manually tag the Media Kind in iTunes as described above before using the metadata tagging utility. If you don't like having iTunes automatically assign the "Home Videos" tag to untagged videos during import, then use the iTunes Product Feedback form to request an iTunes "Preference" enhancement option be added to the application allowing users to select a default "Media Kind" to be assigned to "untagged" video files during import.

  • HT4528 when i first got my iphone thru verizon, i had 2 movies, and numerous songs that came from my cd's i owned already. or from music that i already had on my computer. however, i didn't think i would be chgd for putting them on itunes,i pd more doing

the 2 movies on itunes i purchased, and put on itunes, for travel. i also added music that i also had to my itunes on my computer. heck, i was charged more for the movies, than i paid for them on my original purchase of them when i put them on itunes. the music on itunes was also music that i purchased the cd's, myself, and loaded onto my computer so that i would be able to carry it with me when i went on a trip..but when i got my bill, i was being charged for purchasing them again...is that how itunes works? if it is i will not be adding any more of my movies, or music on it at all. iphone or computer? by the time i got the bill it had added allmost 40+ dollars to my bill. and no i was not over my space i had for my phone, and definitely had room on my computer.  so please. if thats how it works tell me and i will not add any more to my itune acct. i was quite stunned to see what additional charges i was paying again, and even worse more than i'd paid for it all the first time when i purchased....i have sent an email upon figuring out what had  made my bill so high, just as i am now. as of today i have not gotten any response from customer support. if this is the case i will not only not use itunes on any of my devices but i will see that upon renewal of my contract. i will NOT purchase any device that you have to use iturnes on it....i have spoke to several people and they had the same thing happen to them. so do we have to pay JUST to add our own movies music etc to itunes. cause if thats the case i will go back to other phones and won't have to deal with itunes.i didn't PUCHASE any of it from itunes, and if i had i would have done it only with an itunes card just to avoid and have control of my bill, as i thought that i would..so please let me know if i have to pay again for my OWN items,i put on itunes. i had plenty of space on my computer, the cloud, dropbox etc. that wouldn't even make any sense for anyone to do it....please respond, it has taken a while to send again due to several very personal tragedies i have been a bit behind in getting this cone again but i would love to get or have someone explain WHY i am paying for music and movies that i had and thought it was a good idea to put on my computer for travellimg purposes. i hope and would appreciate an acknowledgement of this letter, and also a response...because if that's the case i won't be using itunes any more for adding movies or music to itunes, and on top of that paying for it all a second time, and it also being more than i had originally paid for them when and where i purchased them..i have been please with all my apple products till that happened, now not so sure....i have to keep up with all of my expenses for medical reasons..i hope that i get a response this time. i also have 2 other email addresses, [email protected], and [email protected],i used them to try to use them to set up my acct., but for whatever reason said they were invalid and i have had them for several years, no problem with any one else......

if i buy a movie from itunes store how can i put it on my new ipad

Assuming it's in a supported format (which is likely), simply sync your iPad to iTunes on your computer.  Make sure you have specified that you would like to sync movies on the "movies" tab on the top right of the iTunes display (when your iPad is plugged in and its row highlighted).

  • Putting Movie not purchased on itunes onto iphone

    Hey
Im having trouble putting a movie on my iphone from my computer. It says that the movie cannot be played on this iphone
Any ideas how to fix this?

The movie needs to be in one of these formats: Video formats supported: H.264 video, up to 1.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Low-Complexity version of the H.264 Baseline Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; H.264 video, up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Baseline Profile up to Level 3.0 with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; MPEG-4 video, up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats.
If you have your movie in iTunes, use the advanced menu to create iPod or iPhone version.
Otherwise, do a Google search for "convert movie for iphone".

  • Every time I put a movie on itunes then it comes to home movies. Howe can i solve this?

Every time I put a movie on itunes then it comes to home movies. Howe can i solve this?

In iTunes 11 that's the default behaviour. You can change this by right-clicking a title in iTunes, choosing 'Get Info' and changing the Video Kind field to "Movie" or "TV Show". You can also change it to "Music Video" but then the video will be moved to the Music section.
You can also select multiple video titles simultaniously and do the above step for all videos at once. This will save a lot of clicks if you have a long list of videos.
