Putting Music on nano

Hi Guys - I bought my first ipod today (begining to wish I hadn't bothered)
I followed all the instructions installing the itunes software on my pc (windows Xp) then connected my ipod the music in my itunes library was set to update automatically which it did, however when I looked at my ipod there was no music on there though it had taken 870mb of space!!!.
I can't delete anything on the ipod (tried restoring etc)
I have uninstalled and re-installed itunes software with updates, I have followed all instructions that I can find and still nothing - any help would be appreciated before I throw it on the fire
Cheers

  • Putting music from nano onto iTunes

I recently got a new hard drive but wasn't able to save my iTunes before my old one died. How can I register my nano with the new iTunes so I can put my music that is already on my nano on the iTunes?

    Hello,
Before you do anything, please download and install the following 3rd software, uses it to copy the music from your Nano to the iTunes on your computer
    http://www.yamipod.com/main/modules/home/
Once it has been completed, do a Restore for your Nano, your iTunes will ask you to register your Nano with it.

Try putting it into "Disk Mode" http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93651
Then with it in this mode connect it to the PC and try to run the latest iPod updater to do a restore and update software if you have the option. the latest iPod updater is 2006-03-23 and can be downloaded here http://www.apple.com/ipod/download/

  • Is there a way at all to put music videos in your ipod nano?

Is there a way at all to put music videos in your ipod nano?

No. The nano is not capable of video playback. You would need the fifth-generation full sized iPod for that.

It sounds like you would like to transfer music to your iPod nano.
Use the steps in the following article to sync content from iTunes on your computer to your iPod (I wasn’t sure if you were using a Windows computer or a Mac, so I included the respective articles for each):

Hello and Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Try using a USB2 port. If you are already using a USB2 port disconnect any USB1 devices on that port (i.e. if it's got a hub on it).

  • ITunes doesn't put music on my iPod, or load the Store. . .

    My iTunes is ridiculous.
Basically I can't do anything but import music, for the longest time it hasn't been able to put music or anything else on my iPod Touch. So when I had to get a replacement iPod because of a cracked screen and permanent LCD damage, I thought maybe it would fix the problem, because my brother's iPod Nano downloads and syncs music just fine, while mine doesn't do either of those.
So I came home with my new iPod Touch ready to set it up and load it with songs and podcasts and videos. But since the store won't load I can't access my Apple ID, so I can't set up my iPod.
So it sits there in the Device Manager section, it just says "iPod Touch", and when you click on it, it has a white screen with "iPod" written in the middle. No options, nothing.
Same thing if you click "iTunes Store", it pops up, but this time it's just a white screen. And it looks like it's trying to load, with the stripes in the status bar at the top, before it actually loads, then it just stops, and I'm looking at a white page.
My house does not have Wi-Fi to set up my iPod to see if any of iTunes is functional at all.
    Any ideas?
    I've already tried:
    Uninstalling
    Reinstalling
Completely Deleting iTunes from my Computer (PC: Windows Vista)
    Downloading Older Versions of iTunes
Completely Updating Everything, iOS Software, iTunes, QuickTime

Try to install the latest version of your iTunes and be sure that do a fresh install for that. Apple store works fine.

  • Putting music from Media Player into iTunes???

So....I just recently bought my Nano. I have lots of songs on my computer (that I put on there from my CDs) in Windows Media Player 10. When I connected to iTunes (to put music on my iPod) some of my previous songs from Media Player were put into iTunes, yet there are still LOTS of songs not in the iTunes Library. And I don't think that they didn't transfer because they are "protected", it has to be something else. I've tried dragging, copying, nothing is 'allowed'. I've gone to about every window, menu, and help/support site in both iTunes and Windows Media Player. This is almost a last resort.
Thank you SO much if you have ANY information at all!!!

I'm having the same problem, can someone help us?????

  • How can I transfer music from nano to a new computer.  Old computer is gone.

How can I transfer music from nano to a new computer?  Old computer is gone.

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer files/docs/pics/music/etc.
Use your backup copy to put everything on the new computer.
If for some reason you have failed to backup ( not good), then you can transfer itunes purchases from your ipod.  Without syncing:  File>Transfer Purchases

However, after your remove the Apple software components also remove the iCloud Control Panel via Windows Programs and Features app in the Window Control Panel. Then reinstall all the Apple software components

  • I want to put music onto my partners phone from my Mac computer. The message comes up that her phone is synced with another iTunes library (not in use anymore) and do I want to erase this iPhone and sync with this itunes library.

There is currently no music on her iPhone and all the apps are already in the iTunes library on the mac that I want to sync it to so its not a problem, the apps won't be lost.
My question is are photos and messages and contacts classified as iPhone contents? Because I don't want those to be wiped. So can I sync her phone to this iTunes library? I have not been able to find online whether or not photos and contacts will be lost.
Also her phone is already backed up on this computer because it gets plugged into it all the time we have just not tried to put music onto it yet until now.
Thanks for any help clarifying this
