I have a MacBook OSx 10.5.8.  Because the MacBook software is so old there's no more updates so my iPhone 5 & laptop are no longer compatible.  How can I put music onto my iPhone from my laptop, when iTunes won't recognize it?
Any & all comments/ suggestions are welcomed and appreciated!

That's the problem, my MacBook does not have enough RAM to be updated.  Is there another way?

There is a "processing" window that opens for a split second then disappears. That's it. I read through the manual and tried "advanced-getr CD track names", but that option is greyed out. Wife thinks I'm an idiot...please help. kroger

yep...it's there---Audio CD (D:). I've tried several different CDs and do not get the itunes to list the tracks. Thanks for the help.

  • Putting Music On Your iPhone

I just purchased my iPhone today and down loaded some CD's into iTunes. I can not get those songs on my iPhone? With an iPod you just select and drag, but this iPhone won't let me do that?

If your iPhone has the current version installed which is 1.1.3, under the Summary tab for your iPhone sync preferences, select Manually manage music and video.
To create an iTunes Playlist, select Music under Library and at the iTunes menu bar go to File and select New Playlist. Enter a name for the Playlist. I named mine iPhone.
A song cannot be available in a Playlist unless it is available in your iTunes library which is represented by Music in the iTunes source list. Select the songs you want in the Playlist by clicking and dragging the songs to your Playlist and then release. This does not duplicate the songs.
Under the Music tab for your iPhone sync preferences, select "Selected Playlists" instead of "All Songs and Playlist" and then select the Playlist that you created and then sync.

  • Is there a way to put a large amount of music on your iPod without having to keep all the files in iTunes on your computer as well? I want to put my entire music collection (including cds) on my iPod but don't want to take up the space on my computer.

is there a way to put a large amount of music on the ipod without having to keep all the files on itunes as well? I want to use my ipod as an externa drive and put all of my music on it without taking up the space on my computer. I also don't want to lose all my files everytime I plug ipod into my computer. Is this possible? Is there a way to avoid using itunes and only use the ipod as an external drive?

You cannot put music onto your iPod without using iTunes, that what iTunes is for.
It's also not a good idea to wipe the music from your computer and having it only on your iPod. We see countless posts here from people who have done just that - and then lost everything when the iPod needs a Restore. Even if you never need to Restore your iPod, what happens when you eventually replace the iPod? You'll be back here asking how to get the music from one iPod to another. That's not easy to do, we see countless posts about that too!
A much better idea is to buy an external drive (a proper external drive, not simply an iPod) and put your large amount of music onto that drive. Then point your iTunes Library to that drive. However, you need to remember two things:
You still need a backup of that Library.
Using an external drive as your iTunes Library means that the drive must be connected and ready to read before starting your iTunes programme. If it isn't, then iTunes will look on the C: drive - and you will find no music in your Library. (Once again, lots of posts about that as well!)

  • Putting music on Iweb, also where is the counter on my homepage like Imovie

two questions for the wizards..... how do you put music into your Iweb page. I DO see the audio tab (similar to Imovie), I picked the music.... no what (short of putting some ugly tab on the picture page.
2nd questions...... where is the counter on my homepage to keep track of views. I could do it when I published Imovies to the web.... but there is no edit button for the Iweb pages.
    thanks is advance

    Micahel:
Question #1: In the Media pane where you select audio and then see all the tracks in your iTunes library, select a track and drag onto the page where you want it. You can then add a photo to the area, i.e. like the album cover, or just leave it as it is an in the published page all you'll see is the controller with the play/hold button, etc.
Question #2: You have to add the Hit Counter by going to the Insert->Button menu and selecting Hit Counter.
    Do you Twango?

  • How to put music into iphone 5 with another Itunes 11??

I have a computer back at home which i originally used with my Iphone 5. Im at college right now and i just bought a laptop, downloaded Itunes 11, and have some music i want to put on to my Iphone but i cant. I just realized that you cannot put music into your Iphone without the original computer you synced it with. Even though i have authorized this laptop; this laptop being the second authorized, cant seem to put music into my Iphone. I then tried to check off the Manually manage music and videos box and it prompted me by saying i have to delete everything in my Iphone and get it synced with the itunes on my laptop in order to put in music and videos. I dont want to do this. Does anyone know another way around this???? I know with an Ipod you dont go through this kind of crap. Any kind of help would be appreciated! My IOS for my iphone5 is 6.1.4. I dont know if this effects anything.

There's the easy way and the hard way. The easy way is to copy the backup that you should have kept of your old computer to the new computer's iTunes (see: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527). Then just sync the iPhone. The hard way is to extract the data from your phone. The phone was never intended as a backup device, so you will not get everything back perfectly, but it's as close as you can get. See: Syncing to a "New" Computer or replacing a "crashed" Hard Drive

  • HT1386 How do I copy music from an old iPod?  Why do you have to make things so difficult?  These are my files that I paid for but once I put them on your devices, I no longer have control over them.  I've wasted so much time on these stupid problems.

Thanks, Deggie. I thought Apple would see my feedback.  I would just like to know if there is a simple way to copy just a few music files from an old iPod.  I saw instructions on how to copy all of them from the iPod but it was complicated and I really didn't want to copy all the songs.  I guess I could delete all the songs but the ones I want to copy then go through that process again.  Do you know how to back up music to my computer?  I don't want to have to go through this again and possibly lose music.

  • Is there a way at all to put music videos in your ipod nano?

Is there a way at all to put music videos in your ipod nano?

No. The nano is not capable of video playback. You would need the fifth-generation full sized iPod for that.

Add the music from your flash drive to your itunes media libary, then sync your phone to itunes.

  • Putting music videos on your iphone

I'm not having any problem with putting music on my iPhone, its the videos that are giving me a hard time. Even the music videos which I purchased through iTunes Store. What am I doing wrong? The videos show up under the purchased tab but thats about it. I cant seem to get the video onto my iPhone.

For music videos, connect the iPhone and in the tabs in the main winndow, click on the music tab. Make sure sync all music videos is checked.
Now go to the videos tab and here you can select what movies get synced. You can select individual as well as all and there are some other options as well.
