Putting Photo's on an iPad2

We store our photos on our iMAC and my partner wants to put some on her iPad2. But her Apple ID is ifferent to mine so we don't seemt o be able to use Photo Stream. Also when we connect the iPad to the iMAC, we can see it mounted but can't drag and drop photos onto the iPad2. Can anyone help. We're running Lion on the iMAC and iOS5 on the iPad2. Is it possible for people to share cloud information across differet

When connected to your Mac you sync photos to the iPad via iTunes - select the iPad on the left-hand side of iTunes and on the right-hand side there should be a Photos tab : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4236

  • Can I load photos from iMac onto iPad2 model A1395?

Can I load photos from iMac onto iPad2 model A1395?  The model A1395 is described as "wi-fi only" and has a 30 pin connector for charging.
[By contrast, this is NOT the iPad2 model A1396, which is described as "Wi-Fi/GMS/GPS AT&T" or the Model A1397, which is described as "Wi-Fi/CDMA/GPS Verizon". Nor is it the model A1337, described as "Wi-Fi/3G/GPS (Original)".]
Wi-Fi only seems to me to have an ominous ring to it.  I am synching with my iPhone through the iCloud, if that is of any use.
In addition, I should note that the photo files I want to look at in the iPad are large files, a little over 100 MB in JPEG format.  The desire is to display the whole image (these are archival photos of heirloom quilts) and then be able to focus in on specific details (by enlrging them so that the stitching and other details can be seen).  I mention this because I tthink there may be some 30 MB limit on the size of a file that the iPAD can handle.  Would I be able to examine a larger file (but perhaps npot as large as 100 MB) if I had 64 MB memory in the iPad?

WiFi only refers to the fact that the iPad connects to the Internet via WiFi because it does not have cellular capability. That has nothing to do with the ability to put photos on the device.
Sync the photos from the Mac via iTunes.
Connect the iPad to the Mac and launch iTunes.
Click on the iPad name on the left side under devices.
Click on the Photos Tab on the right.
Select the folder from which your photos are located in the Sync Photos From Heading. If you use iPhoto - select that or navigate to the specific photos folder on the Mac.
If you use iPhoto, select all of the albums, or events that you want to sync. If you use another photos folder, you can select one level of sub folders within that main folder.
Click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes
Having 64GB of storage also has nothing to do with the ability to view the photos on the iPad since that refers to storage capacity. However, the larger the storage capacity, the more photos the iPad will be able to hold.
I know of no limit on the size that a photo needs to be in order to be viewable on the iPad.
If you use iCloud, you can sync photos that you shoot on the iPd and iPhone across devices via Photo Stream, but it just be turned on for this to work. Settings>iCloud>Photo Stream on. Any photos that you take on one device after photo stream is turned on, will sync to the other device.

  • When I send a photo directly from iPhoto using the Mail app on my iMac, the wrong photo appears on my iPad2 Mail app.  However the correct photo shows if I log into gmail on the iPad2.  I assume there is a glitch with my "Mail" app on the iPad2.

When I send a photo directly from iPhoto using the Mail app on my iMac, the wrong photo appears on my iPad2 Mail app.  However the correct photo shows if I log into gmail on the iPad2.  I assume there is a glitch with my "Mail" app on the iPad2?  Any suggestions for getting the correct photo to show on iPad2?

Update:  I was able to have the correct photo show in my email as received on my iPad2 by changing a setting on my IMac prior to sending the photo on the email.
On the iMac, I went into iPhoto > Preferences > Email photos using > Mail (in lieu of "iPhoto").  This seems to have corrected the issue.  I'm not sure why.  Now the correct photo shows up when received on my iPad2.

  • How do I transfer photos from iPad to ipad2.

How do I transfer photos from iPad to ipad2?

    With your computer.
Photos transferred from your computer to your iPad via the iTunes sync process should remain on your computer. You transfer these photos to your iPad 2 in the same way - via the iTunes sync process which is selected under the Photos tab for your iPad 2 sync preferences with iTunes.
For any photos on your iPad that were saved from a received email or from a website or that were imported from a digital camera with the iPad Camera Connection Kit, these photos can be imported from your iPad by your computer as with any other digital camera.
Import these photos from your iPad with your computer, and then transfer the photos from your computer to your iPad 2 via the iTunes sync process.

  • With iLife/iWeb '06/.Mac :    can I put photos in a Photo Gallery?

If a person has iLife '06 and the iWeb that came with it (and the update)
    and belongs to .Mac:
    1) can s/he put photos up in the Photo Gallery?
    2) Or must one have iWeb '08 to put photos onto the Photo Gallery?
I plan to get the Intel iMac when it arrives and I hear that iLife '08 will come installed.
    Thank you,

Dear Quictime Kirk — You are thinking as I do about those purchases, except that I also want to buy iWork so that I can have Pages. (Keynote will be a nice extra.)
My website is large and I do want to shift it all into iWeb '08 because I believe (tell me if I'm wrong) that it will have a nicer look. I am not necessarily meaning those widgets.
I intend to delete some of the pages which time has shown I have less interest in, but there are additions that I want to make....... and I want to do it all with the new iWeb in iLife '08.
I still remember that awesome page of yours, the fires of Malibu, and the music.

  • Error -1401 while synchronising photos from PC to iPad2

I get error -1401 (unknown) while synchronising photos from a PC to the iPad2. The photo album on the iPad is then empty except the photo tooken from the iPad2
    - I do exactly the same thing from the same PC, same iTunes, same USB, same cable but to a 3G iPhone with its latest iOS (4.2.1)
I have no problem to sync lets say 20 photos from the PC to the said iPhone
Again, exactly the same procedure does not work for the iPad2 (the iPad and iPhone are just one above the other within iTunes, I can switch cables).
iPad2 has been just completly restored with the newes iOS 5.0.1
    I work with iTunes 10.5.2.11
on a PC XP SP 3
    Any hint, experience with that?
    thanks

Are you selecting all of the folders to sync?
Note that if you deselect a folder it will be removed.

If you haven't tried re syncing the apps using iTunes..
Connect the iPad to your computer. Select it under Devices left side of the iTunes window. Select Apps from the menu, make sure the boxes next to those apps are selected then click the Sync button bottom right side of the iTunes window.

  • When i put photos from my iphone to the stream

when i put photos from my iphone to the stream, can i delete them from the phone?

No, the Stream is used to sync photos from one device to another, not to store them long term.  Always sync photos to a computer to archive them.  Once there, you can delete them from your device.

  • Making a book, this time cannot put photos on page 2, why do I have to waste this page now?

I have made a number of books, this time am using the large book format (2nd time I have) Cannot put photos on page 2, it remains blank and lay out doesn't offer an option. I seriously do not want to start book with page 3, page 1 being script. Cannot over-ride current option. When and why was it changed? Is there any way to overcome this?

What theme are you using?  In the themes that I've tested the first page, 1, is the page right after the blank inside cover.

I'm using iPhoto 8.1.2.  If you're not getting this try the following; make a temporary, duplicate copy of the library and try the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
1 - delete  the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your Home/Library/Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.
3 - reboot, launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding the the Option key.  You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
    Fix #2
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys depressed and follow the instructions to rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot and the option to rebuild the small thumbnails.
See if the book numbering changes.
