  • I am lost. I put photos from a DVD into organizer?

I put images from a DVD into Elements 9. My images show up in my catalog and it allows me to edit and to print. It never asks me to put in the disk. BUT once I got a message that elements could not do something because the image is on an external disk.
How do I check where they are?
If they are only on the external disk, why did it let me print and do some editing?
Is it using just the thumb nail? Wouldn't I lose a lot of quality. I have only done 4x6 prints so far.
I can't find the answers in the manual.
If they are only on the DVDs, what I guess I am asking is, how do I manage them if they stay on the dvds. I have one to three DVDs for each year.
    Thanks for any help,
    confused and bewildered

Thanks, I lost the side panel. I begin to understand. I see my photo files and they are all within the c drive. They must all be imported otherwise it would show F (DVD) drive wouldn't it?
Elements created a folder and called it "photos from removeable media" and all my photos from DVDs are within that folder. To me 'from removeable media" seemed to indicate that they are thumbnails only but I guess not. There is a message that says "No files from this folder have been  imported into the organizer. To add any files right click on the folder  and select 'import to organizer'  Do I read this that Elements does not  see any files in the master folder since there are only folders in the  master folder?
All my file organization is gone from the files imported from removeable media. The whole year is just blobbed together. What is the best way to put the pictures back into the subfolders I had on the disks. For example, I create a master folder (Boston trip) and then within it subfolders (A at hotel, B tours, C people) Should I delete everything and start again. First copy to the hard drive to keep my folders? Then import to Elements? I have 2 or 3 DVDs per year.
I appreciate your help. Thanks again,
    Linda

  • Unable to view photos burned to DVD from Elements 11

I burned some photos (jpg and tiff) from Elements 11 to a DVD.  When I tried to open the disc on the same computer, it didn't show any files.  However, PSE.VolInfo.dat showed on DVD.  I tried to open with Windows Explorer and with Photoshop Elements.  When I put that same DVD in a different computer the pictures are all listed and open fine.  I am wondering why no files are showing and why  I can't open the pictures on the computer I used to burn them with and where the PSE.VolInfo.dat came from?  How can I burn the photos to a DVD and be able to open them?  Has anyone experienced this type of problem?  Burned them to a CD also and experienced the same problem.

Well since nobody here responded, I called Verizon Tech Support directly.  I was instructed to remove the battery while leaving the power on (that's important--do NOT power off!).  Then depress the power button in succession twenty (20) times.  Replace the battery cover and power up as normal.  All fixed!!!    Thanks to "Julius"  at VZW.  Obviously, this is some type of reset sequence for the Charge.
Depress the power button 20 times with the battery still out or after putting the battery back in?

  • What i have to do if i Wang to put photo in my MBA

How i can put photos in my MBA

Which photos do you want to transfer? Are they in a digital camera? a Dvd? What Macbook air model do you have?
If they are on a digital camera, just plug it to the usb port, turn it on and a window should pop up asking you if you want to import them.
If I recall correctly some macbook air models have Card readers on their side, you can use that to read the card on your camera.
In case you have them on a DVD you should use an external DVD drive or use the Remote Disk utility to borrow one from another computer.

  • Burn I Photo pictures to DVD or CD

How do I burn an I Photo album of photos to a DVD or CD so that someone can view them on their non Mac computer or watch them on their DVD/CD player?

I basically understand what your are suggestingbut would like bit of clarification creating the disk of images.
I have an album in I Photo which consists of 200 photos. I want to put them all on a disk. When I sent them to my desktop I wound up with 200 individual photos. I dragged each one to the disk on the desktop but when I tried to burn the disk it would not burn. I got an error message which said that the original item could not be found. By way of background once I dragged the image to the disk I put it in the trash to clean up the desktop. Is there an easier way besides moving each element one by one? Anything more automatic?

  • Putting photos on to a disc

I am having trouble putting photos to a disc from iPhoto, an error message keeps appearing. Can anyone help please. I want to view our holiday photos on the DVD player.

1 - if you want help you need to share information - what version of iPhoto? What OS? exactly error messages? What you are trying to do?
2 - putting photos on a disk is easy - select the photos and export to a desktop folder - in teh finder select tah tfolder and drag it to the mounted disk
3 - playing photos on a DVD player is not nearly the same uness you have a DVD player that can read a simple photo disk - for the standard DVD player you have to Author the disk correctly for the DVD format the player requires - iDVD can do this - Toast and other programs can do this

  • TouchSmart 300. Will not run either a photo CD or DVD, why?

Unit just out of warranty. Did not have reason to use DVD-RW drive. Have some photo CD's and DVD's from WalMart I'd like to load into my Pictures folder. Insert disks and nothing happens except finally a window saying Insert 'Disk in E' for the DVD's or a window asking how I want to Burn a disk for the CD's. What is it that I don't understand (have struggled with understanding this TouchSmart system as well as Windows 7).

    Yes, it is inserted correctly.
Went through the HP "Drive Cannot Read Discs in Windows 7" process. Plays music CD's ok. Just cannot not read a WalMart photo CD or DVD. I can process the photo disk on my old HP desktop with XP. I ran all the troubleshooting steps for the TouchSmart and the DVD-RW (a CDDVW TS-t633P SATA CdRom Device) appears to be working properly. When I put the WalMart CD or DVD in though nothing happens except the bar at the top of the My Computer window eventually turns green, the disk ejects, and I get a window to Insert Disk into E (after it eventually ejects the WalMart photo disk). Again, the Walmart disk works OK on two other HP PC's running XP. Am at wit's end!!!
I have the  Autoplay checked in the AutoPlay window and Choose a Default for all the options except the music CD. The WalMart photo CD or DVD just won't work on this machine or with Windows 7 whichever is the case.
    Help!

  • I copied a lot of photos from an iphone to a DVD using a Windows 7 laptop, now I cannot access those photos on the DVD. HELP!

I copied a lot of photos from an iphone to a DVD using a Windows 7 laptop, now I cannot access those photos on the DVD. HELP! In Windows Exlporer I can see the data on the disk in the details but when I click on it nothing appears as if there is nothing on it.

It should. So they aren't shown in the Last Import smart album, right? Try the following:
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
2 - Run Option #4, Rebuild Database, followed by Option #1 if needed.

is there any way to import the photos from a DVD slideshow I made in 2007? they are set to music and there are quite a few photos on the slideshow. I didn't back up the photos on a separate DVD/CD so the photos are all there but i don't know how to import them from a musical slideshow. Help!

Unless you opted to add the source image files to the DVD's ROM  Contents the answer is no.

Rather than burn directly to disk follow this workflow to help assure the best quality video DVD:
Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the File ➙ Save as Disk Image  menu option. This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
To check the encoding mount the disk image, launch DVD Player and play it.  If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding is good.
Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality.  Always use top quality media:  Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.

  • With iLife/iWeb '06/.Mac :    can I put photos in a Photo Gallery?

If a person has iLife '06 and the iWeb that came with it (and the update)
    and belongs to .Mac:
    1) can s/he put photos up in the Photo Gallery?
    2) Or must one have iWeb '08 to put photos onto the Photo Gallery?
I plan to get the Intel iMac when it arrives and I hear that iLife '08 will come installed.
    Thank you,

Dear Quictime Kirk — You are thinking as I do about those purchases, except that I also want to buy iWork so that I can have Pages. (Keynote will be a nice extra.)
My website is large and I do want to shift it all into iWeb '08 because I believe (tell me if I'm wrong) that it will have a nicer look. I am not necessarily meaning those widgets.
I intend to delete some of the pages which time has shown I have less interest in, but there are additions that I want to make....... and I want to do it all with the new iWeb in iLife '08.
I still remember that awesome page of yours, the fires of Malibu, and the music.

  • HT201788 How do I burn photos onto a DVD from iPhoto?

I am trying to burn photos/folders from iPhoto onto a DVD/CD but when disc utility opens I am unable to burn any of the items or folders onto the disc.  I thought that my optical drive was perhaps malfunctioning so I purchased a SuperDrive.  However, I am running into the same problem. The folders or pictures within, that I want to burn remain inactive.  How can I burn these pictures onto DVD/CD?

What kind of DVD disk do you want to create?  A data disk that just contains the image files or a video DVD disc that can be played on a DVD player on a TV set.  They are two entirely different types of disks and require different workflows.
If you're running Yosemite then you have iPhoto 9.6 or 9.6.1.
    For a data disk:
1 - select the photos to be burned to disk and export to a folder on the Desktop File ➙ Export ➙ File Export menu.  Set the Kind = what you want, the original file or the current, edited version.
2 - insert a blank DVD in the optical drive.
3 - drag the folder of photos onto the DVD disk's icon.
3 - drag the DVD disk icon to the Trash Bin in the Dock which turns into the Burn function:
    For a video DVD disk:
Export the slideshow out of iPhoto as a QT movie file via the Export button in the lower toolbar.  For iPhoto 9.5 and later selct 480p.
Open iDVD, select a theme and drag the exported QT movie file into the open iDVD window being careful to avoid any drop zones.
Follow this workflow to help assure the best quality video DVD:
Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the File ➙ Save as Disk Image  menu option. This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
To check the encoding mount the disk image, launch DVD Player and play it.  If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding is good.
Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality.  Always use top quality media:  Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.
If iDVD was not preinstalled on your Mac you'll have to obtain it by purchasing a copy of the iLife 09 disk from a 3rd party retailer like Amazon.com: ilife 09: Software or eBay.com.  Why, because iDVD (and iWeb) was discontinued by Apple over a year ago.
Why iLife 09 instead of 11?
If you have to purchase an iLife disc in order to obtain the iDVD application remember that the iLife 11 disc only provides  themes from iDVD 5-7.  The Software Update no longer installs the earlier themes when starting from the iLIfe 11 disk nor do any of the iDVD 7 updaters available from the Apple Downloads website contain them.
Currently the only sure fire way to get all themes is to start with the iLife 09 disc:
This shows the iDVD contents in the iLife 09 disc via Pacifist:
You then can upgrade from iDVD 7.0.3 to iDVD 7.1.2 via the updaters at the Apple Downloads webpage.

  • I am unable to download photos onto a dvd from my iphoto.  Any ideas?

Since I downloaded Lion OS I cannot burn photos to a DVD anymore.  Either from my Superdrive or to a peripheral that has worked before.
    Any help is appreciated.

I thought now that you could directly edit iCloud docs would mean the same as editing on an iDevice.
Apple really needs to improve on this...
