Putting photos on the Nano

I cannot get pics on the Nano for the life of me. When I first plugged it in after i bought it, It put EVERYTHING on it. now after deleting all the pics from it, I cant it to put some of them back on. all the manuals and "how to's" dont work.

Jason, I made a folder in iPhoto and put my photos I wanted on the Nano in it.. Then I plugged the Nano in and opened iTunes then preferences.. Then clicked on the iPod icon then the photos tab and checked the folder and the Nano downloaded them.. I'm on a mac, don't know if your on a windows box... If so I don't know how it works for that...

  • I figured out how to put photos onto the Apple TV Screen-Saver

I was having trouble using photos with the Apple TV screen saver.
I got as far as putting them into the photo stream, but some photos were crooked, with no way of editing them.
I called Apple, they didn't know what to do.
I am submitting this after calling Tech Support at Apple, wanting to give them the information...don't know if they really took it to heart.  I figured this out myself with the help of my son.
I want to share it with others.
    So, let me begin:
I texted my son, he had set it up once for me, but I deleted the file.
So he told me to edit the photos on my iPhone, in my photostream.  Well there wasn't any to edit.  The file was not there.
So going through my PC, I clicked on "My Computer"
    I clicked onto "iCloud Photos"
I get what looks like the above photo.  Click on "New photo stream"
You will then get this screen.  In the "to" field, send it to yourself.  And then name your file, click "next".
It will then give you this screen:
When all the photos load, click done.
THEN, go to your Apple TV.
    Settings:
    Click on "Screen Saver"
    Click on "Photos"
    Click on "iCloud Photos"
Click on the file you named on your PC.
Now you will find, like me on "previewing" that some pictures were not straight.
Go to your iPhone, click on your "Camera Roll"
    Click on "Photo Stream"
Then you will see your file that you created for your screen saver.
Click onto your file, from there you can click on the crooked photo and click "Edit", it asks to save it to "Camera Roll".  Click there.
What I did then was delete the crooked picture and at the bottom of this file within your "Photo Stream", go to the bottom of the photos, it will have a tile with a plus sign in it.  Click on that to add from your "Camera Roll" the corrected picture.
Do this for every crooked photo.
    ALL DONE!
When done, go to your "Camera Roll" and delete these photos.

This issue is resolved, through the generous advice of folks on this page.
See my reply to Apple (2nd gen.) photo shuffle.  The Fix that I posted works for Apple 3 Gen, which was just purchased Dec. 27,2013.

  • HT4906 I just upgraded to Mountain Lion.  Do I need to upgrade iPhoto to put photos on the iCloud??

Using Photo Stream is the same as putting photos on iCloud?  Not sure of the terminology?

PS is part of iCloud. PS requires iPhoto  9.2 or later. Other iCloud features have different requirements

To load full-resolution image files onto iPod:
1 In iTunes, select iPod in the Source pane and click the Photos tab.
    2 Select “Include full-resolution photos.”
    3 Click Apply.

I have not tried this yet, but try making a slide show in iPhoto - then see if it shows up in the source list in iTunes... you may be able to sync it... not sure :%

    Welcome to Apple Communities.
You need to migrate some files to your Mac using Windows Migration Assistant. Migrate your Music folder and the folder with the photos. Then, in your Mac, you will have iTunes as you have in your old computer. After that, open iPhoto and drag the photos to it. Finally, connect your iPad to your Mac and sync it

  • Put photos in the wrong desitnation

I imported photos and forgot to update the last desitnation to the new one I created for the new photos. So, they got imported into the last folder I imported the previous set to. I want to move them to the proper folder, but I am afraid to use the "move" option because it says it will move the photos and then delete the previous folder. The folder has the previous set of pictures that I saved there and I don't want to lose them. How do I move a selective set of my photos from the folder to the new on I want them to reside in without losing the set that were in that folder previoulsy and were saved properly?
    Thanks,
    Jim

Sorry I don't know your name, but that worked just fine. I realy appreciate your help. Thanks very much.

  • How do I put photos in the iPhoto Library onto my external hard drive?

I used an old iMac for years and I would go into the hard drive in the Originals folder and drag each folder onto the external hard drive. That way I could easily find the different shooting sessions. Now with my new Mac I find an iPhoto Library folder but none of the pictures are there. In asking other questions over the last 6 weeks I've learned that if you click certain keys on the keyboard you can bring up the folders to view. Am I supposed to do this or is it asking for trouble? What is the best way to get my individual folders in iPhoto onto my external hard drive? Thanks so much.

*It is strongly advised that you do not move, change or in anyway alter things in the iPhoto Library Folder as this can cause the application to fail and even lead to data loss*
That way I could easily find the different shooting sessions.
The Events feature will do that for you now in the iPhoto Window.
There are many, many ways to access your files in iPhoto:
For 10.5 users: You can use any Open / Attach / Browse dialogue. On the left there's a Media heading, your pics can be accessed there. Apple-Click for selecting multiple pics.
    Uploaded with plasq's Skitch!
To upload to a site that does not have an iPhoto Export Plug-in the recommended way is to Select the Pic in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export and export the pic to the desktop, then upload from there. After the upload you can trash the pic on the desktop. It's only a copy and your original is safe in iPhoto.
This is also true for emailing with Web-based services. If you're using Gmail you can use THIS
If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto. With 10.5 you can access the Library from the New Message Window in Mail:
    Uploaded with plasq's Skitch!
If you use a Cocoa-based Browser such as Safari, you can drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Attach window in the browser.
Or, if you want to access the files with iPhoto not running, then create a Media Browser using Automator (takes about 10 seconds) or use THIS
    Other options include:
    1. *Drag and Drop*: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
    2. *File -> Export*: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
    3. *Show File*: Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.
You can set Photoshop (or any image editor) as an external editor in iPhoto. (Preferences -> General -> Edit Photo: Choose from the Drop Down Menu.) This way, when you double click a pic to edit in iPhoto it will open automatically in Photoshop or your Image Editor, and when you save it it's sent back to iPhoto automatically. This is the only way that edits made in another application will be displayed in iPhoto.

  • Putting Photos IN the iPod

Im trying to actually get the photos in the ipod and i really dont know where to start. I searched all over the forums for any tips but i cant find anything
    Help!

Have a look at the tutorial, it's slightly outdated as it describes iTunes 6 but the principle is the same with 7 : Transferring Pictures to Your iPod
You can also read a bit more here: iTunes and iPod: Frequently asked questions (FAQ) about Photo Sync
Once you've had a look at that a good tip to prevent all your photos going on the iPod create an album in iPhoto called "iPod Photos" or something similar. Under the photo preferences for the iPod, point iTunes to "copy from selected albums only" and update from there. If you keep a dedicated album like this, you won't need to edit your normal iPhoto collection just for the iPod and you can add and remove picture from it whenever you need to.

  • How do I put photos in the cloud?

I was wondering how to upload my photos to the cloud

Go to Settings>iCloud, sign in with your Apple ID to create your account, and tap Photos in Settings>iCloud and turn on My Photo Stream.  After that, new photos added to your camera roll will automatically be added to your photo stream when your iPad is connected to wifi, has the camera app closed and has at least 20% battery life remaining.

  • Using I-photo with the nano..

Just got my Ipod 4 gen nano. I have up loaded photos but would like to create several separate folders to put different photos in. Is this possible to do..? And if so can I create a folder that is private and password protected..?

Are you on Windows? Best to post on an iPod for Windows forum. This is the iPhoto forum which is a Mac only photo organiser.

  • How can I put photos in the layers palette so I can put one over the other.

How can I take 3 photos that are in the project bin and place them in levels so that I can use portions of each photo, and layer them?

Open a blank, new file from the File menu (File>New>blank file). Enter the width & height of your paper stock, resolution 300 px/in, background white, or any other color.  This will be your canvas. Ideally, the resolution should be the same value as that of your 3 pictures.
Open picture #1, and with one of the selection tools, e.g. selection brush, lasso tool, select the object that you want
Go to Edit menu>copy to place it on the clipboard
    Go back to the canvas
Go to Edit>paste, and the object will be on its own layer.
Use the move tool to position the object, and to resize with the corner handles of the bounding box
    Repeat for pictures 2&3

    This is what I do:
Right click on the iPod nano icon in iTunes.

A Window will appear with several tabs.

At this point it is intuitive.
    ..."Sychonize photos from"...
You don't need any Adobe software, as you can upload
