Putting Powerpoints into Imovie

I am attempting to put students Powerpoint project into an iMovie for Parent Teacher conferences. I ca save the Powerpoints as QT movie but can not insert them into an iMovie project. Any help would be welcomed, under a tight time frame of coarse.

Try saving the Powerpoint as a quicktime movie. In the QuickTime options, be sure to make it a timed presentation, not a manual advance presentation. A manual advance would cause the inclusion of an extra track into the QuickTime file that iMovie cannot edit.

  • Excel graphs in powerpoint into imovie

What is the best way to put excel graphs into imovie? I need to put 2 graphs together on one sheet, so I have aranged them in powerpoint, and saved the powerpoint as a JPEG, and as a powerpoint movie but when I import these into imovie, the quality is really bad, and the text is blury when its desplayed on a larger screen. Any ideas, on how to put a powerpoint into an imovie? Thanks!

iMovies goal is "projection" on TV - in PAL countries that has a screen resolution of 768x576 (.. and that is max, in real life it is less...)
second, a computer has no interlacing - that is a good trick for moving images on TV, but that "blurrs" any detailed content...
    sooo....
you charts will be minimized & blurred. in case you used any serif-typo, the tiny lines will vanish/flirr.. that isn't iM fault, but due to TV standards....
    I would:
use Excel to export directly into some pict format (tiff isn't bad, because no compression); I don't see any need to make an inbetween step in some slideshow app ... (???)
and I would "tune" in Excel the formats: not too much content, san-serif typo, no bright colors (as pure red), no 1pix lines etc....
    best practise:
re-create new, "video compatible" charts in some pic maker (e.g. Photoshop) by using the correct settings from the beginning - you instantly see what you get...
don't forget: judge pic quality of iM projects only TV screen!
    besides:
dpi is an internal-file-info just need for PRINTS... a 10x10pix picture is displayed as 10x10 pix on every computer's screen... independed of 72dpi, 120dpi, or 2400dpi... bigger dpi's make file size larger, but not better for monitor use....

  • Taking clips from itunes movies and putting them into imovie

I'm doing a school project and making a movie trailer and i need to take clips from a movie on my itunes and put it onto imovie so i can take clips from the movie. HELP PLEASE!!!

How did the movie get into iTunes? Does it have digital rights copy protection? I guess you're not seeing the movie when you look in music in the iMovie media browser, is that right?

  • Putting videos into imovie

how do i pull videos from my hd on my sony camera into iphoto. I copied them onto my hardrive and they will not go into imovie

Very interesting...what the heck is a "tween" track? and why is it necessary?
Basically, a "Tween" track is a "Media Handler" which allows/performs a "Tween" operation. "A tween operation lets you algorithmically generate an output value for any point in a time interval. The input for a tween is a small number of values, often as few as one or two, from which a range of values can be derived. You can use output from a tween either to modify tracks in a QuickTime movie or to perform actions unrelated to movies." -- Introduction to QuickTime Media Types and Media Handlers Guide
In the case of the iPhoto slideshow, the "Tween" track interpolates (i.e., creates/generates) the changes rendered in each of the individual frames between one still image and the next. (I.e., it is what creates the frame level "morphing" action along the time axis.) Once created and used to generate the "in between" frames, the "Tween" track is no longer needed but, unfortunately, is not removed from the final MOV file container which is what seems to cause the problem in iMovie '08.
Seems like a natural upgrade to iPhoto would be to have an "export to iDVD" feature.
A "Send to iDVD" option is available for Events, Albums, Slideshows, etc. under the "Share" menu.
Very convoluted to export and then have to re-encode, just to get it into iDVD. But...this wasn't a problem in some previous versions...I definitely recall going straight from iPhoto with an export, right into iDVD.
This problem is only associated with iMovie '08. iDVD and previous versions of iMovie are not afflicted with this problem.

  • Just recently, when I put clips into iMovie, the audio and video are not in sync. How can I fix this problem?

Whenever I try to make a video on iMovie, the audio is not in sync with the video. This just happened recently. I have no clue what is causing the problem, or how to fix it. What should I do?

  • Can't import MP4s into iMove '08

I recorded some videos on my Nokia N95 and wanted to put them into iMovie and export them onto YouTube after some editing, but iMovie won't import my MP4s! Are there any free and painless ways to convert MP4s into more compatible formats for use with iMovie '08?
    Any help greatly appreciated!

Oh sorry!! It turns out that when you import movies into iPhoto '08, when you export them they come out as images, instead of movies; how strange!! :S You can view movies in iPhoto but you can't get them out of there, thanks for your help anyways , you can drag and drop movies from iPhoto into iMovie so I'm all sorted now.

  • Import Quicktime movie into iMovie

i need to import a movie that is in quicktime at the moment, i need to put it into iMovie. how can i do this.
    jack

Normally, you just drag it in.
FYI: QuickTime files are just containers. They can contain a variety of different kinds of video and audio. You need to know EXACTLY what's inside the container for a better answer.

  • Is there a way to get a powerpoint to imovie?

I am doing a project where i have to make a video on imovie and i want to have this intro from a powerpoint i made. is there any way i can get the powerpoint into imovie and still have the animations??
I know how to screen capture and i have still pictures of each slide, but i was wondering if i could keep the animations.

Here are a couple of examples using the Centered Title in iMovie '11. By changing the font size, style and colours and pressing the Return key you can fit quite a lot of information on the screen. The text will move up the screen each time you hit Return on the keyboard. Note that the stills here were taken from a 4:3 project (an edited 8 mm movie from the 60's). On a widescreen project you will be able to fit even more text.
If you have Keynote, you can prepare slides containing text, then export for use in iMovie. Other text editing programs would also do the job. But I've found that simply playing with the Centered Title gives acceptable results, as shown in my examples. What do you think?

  • How do you download a photo from Microsoft Powerpoint and put it into Iphoto?

I'm editing a video for my youth group and I can't get the photo from the powerpoint my youth minister emailed me to upload to iphoto, thus not letting me put it in imovie. I've tried having both windows open and just dragging the photo from one to the other and that didn't work. I tried copying and pasting it into iphoto, but when i right-click in iphoto the option to paste doesn't even show up. The photo is a .tiff, so could that have something to do with it? Any help is appreciated, and a prompt response would be greatly appreciated as we are plannign on showing the video tomorro morning.
    Thanks!

For the one page in the ppt presentation that you want to get into iPhoto do a Print ➙ PDF ➙ Save PDF to iPhoto.
This creates a 200 dpi jpg image of whatever you're "printing" and imported it into iPhoto.  You can do it from any application.

  • Importing a powerpoint/quicktime movie into imovie

can someone tell me what i am doing wrong: when i import a powerpoint/quicktime movie into imovie the background goes orange... and i cannot get it to go white again... help! please!

Thanks for the link. We still had a the problem, but we found a woork around. It seem that if the power point has any sound in it then it only imports the sound. So we took all the sound out and then it imported fine. Then we put the sound back in and imported that so that then we had the sound effects. Any way it works! Thanks!

  • Convert photo in iphoto to put into iMovie project without affecting quality

Hi, hope someone can help. I am trying to put a photo from iPhoto into an iMovie project, but no matter what pixel change i try, whenever i put it into the iMovie project I get black bars each side of the photo and the photo doesn't fill up the full movie screen. Does anyone know if there's a way to do this without affecting the quality of the photo?

This happens because the image is a different aspect ratio from the movie, so make sure that you're cropping to the same dimensions.

  • Recording from isight into imovie during powerpoint slideshow?

I'm setting up a visual perception experiment in which people see objects presented during a powerpoint slideshow. I would like to use my iSight camera to record their faces (their eye movements actually) into iMovie during this task without the iMovie window interrupting the powerpoint presentation. Is this possible?

Although the idea of starting a recording behind the Presentation seesm good.

  • Is there a way to put a video from facebook into imovie?

Is there a way to put a video from facebook into imovie?  The facebook video is on my friends wall. Draging it does not seem to work.

You won't be able to drag and drop it, I think the workaround would be to try and 're-record' it using QuickTime. There's a screen recording ability that will record your hold desktop. My suggestion is to launch QuickTime. Under File Menu > Screen Recording. Get that all setup and ready to hit the red record button. Open Facebook. Playback full screen if possible, then pause it. Start the screen recording, then play the Facebook video. By default, the video will be saved into your Home folder>Movies folder. Open iMovie, go to File Menu > Import > Movies... and then navigate your way to your Movies folder and import that clip into an iMovie Event.
