Putting purchased songs on a different PC

Hi all.
I recently bought a few tracks from the iTunes store - this is the first time I've ever used the store.
However, I have my iTunes on my laptop rather than my normal pc for space reasons and I don't have internet access on my laptop. When I copy the songs over to my laptop, it wants to verify them which I can't do as I don't have internet connection.
Is there another way to do this?? Why do I need to verify it again when I've bought it already??
Can anyone help please? Thanks in advance.

Hi
Thanks for letting me know.
Guess I'll just have to put it on a CD-RW and take the songs off the two separate computers then download it that way and see if that works.
Hmmm. That's a pain, but never mind.
Thanks gain.

You can transfer iTunes content from an iTunes library on a single computer only.
Since these songs were purchased with the same iTunes account, you can download the song that is not in your iTunes library on the computer you will be syncing your iPhone with. Or you can download the song or songs direct on your iPhone.

Transfer the song files from one computer to the other manually, and then drag them into the open iTunes window. Except for applications, one purchase only entitles you to one download; if you don't have the files at all, fill out and submit this form.

  • Cant put "purchased" songs on "iPOD"

Im sure its just because of this new version of iTunes I can remeber several updates where one was messed up and giving various errors. I think it was 6.2 to 6.5 and then a week later an update came out and fixed it.
I was using 7.0.2 and it was working fine. I recently purchased "korn unplugged" and "sevendust alpha" Now I can not manually move the songs to my iPOD.
I tried moving from one playlist to the other and that odly put the songs in the playlist on the iPod but the song count didnt go up and the songs didnt appear under IPOD>Music. When i click on the songs in the playlist i get an exclaimation point on the left like it cant find the file. Oddly enough the songs plays fine in iTunes, they just don't transfer to the iPod.
I deleted a song on the iPod, reset it and tested it, the song was not a newly purchased song and it went right on to the iPOD so i tried a "korn unplugged" song. Same thing happens, same results, cant transfer one of my newly downloaded songs.
Updated to 7.1.1 (which installed fine), but....same thing, old songs transfer fine new songs wouldnt transfer. My software for the iPOD is 2.3 and that is the latest version. I reloaded the software and that made no difference.
I know the 5 Rs and the hidden folder fixes, those didnt do anything.
I have never had a problem with my iPOD, but cant seem to quit having problems with iTunes and purchased music. All those filters to keep the RIAA happy are really messing stuff up, authorizing, protected aac's are annoying, they never used to be 'this annoying'
I have come to the conclusion this is another bad update for iTunes and next week there will be a fix. But if someone can persude me otherwise, im all ears.

How can I load purchased songs from my iPad to my daughters iPod?

You can either sync them to her iPod using iTunes, or sign into your Apple ID in Settings>iTunes & App Store on her iPod and download them as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519.  If she is already signed into a different ID, tap it, sign out, then sign into your ID.  (Note: If she has already enabled automatic downloads or downloaded previous purchases on her iPod using a different ID, she will have to wait 90 days before she can switch IDs to yours.)

  • How do I download my previously purchased songs (on a different computer) on a PC running XP? I have followed the instructions but none of it allows me to download my songs. I deauthorized all computers and authorized this one only but it didn't help.

I had to change computers and cannot access my old drive. iTunes shows me the list of songs but I cannot get most to play. Instead I get a message saying "cannot locate"
I have tried following the support tutorials but it still does not allow me to download my previous purchases.
I tried de-authorizing all computers and then re-authorizing this on but it still doesn't allow me to access most of my songs.

It sounds like you might have broken links to your content. Either repair these by putting the files you've recovered where iTunes expects to find them or delete the broken entries then go to iTunes Store > Purchased > Music > Not on This Computer, and click the download links.

  • Will iCloud sync which playlists I put purchased songs in?

If I purchase a song in iTunes on my computer, then put it in a playlist (not a smart playlist), will iCloud sync that into the same playlist on another device?

No (do correct me if I'm wrong). iCloud only allows you download your past purchases or automatically download recent purchases on your associated devices.

  • Purchased Songs on Two Different Computers

I have two computers, one at home and one in my office. I have purchase about 30 songs on the computer in my office using the same itunes account I use at home. When I open itunes at home, I only see the two songs I have purchased at home. Once I buy a song, shouldn't I be able to access it on both computers? Do the songs get saved to my account on only the computer used to make the purchase? Thank You for your help...not crazy about itunes support. Danielle C.

To transfer, I would just save the songs to a folder and send them to my other computer for download?
Right-click an item, locate it, copy that file as well as any others in the same area of the hard disk to the new computer, and then drag them into the open iTunes window. Alternatively, back up the library to CDs or DVDs and restore the backup on the other computer.

  • How can I purchase songs from a different country

I have a USA iTunes account but when I change the country to Brazil, I am able to preview the albums but not able to purchase there. It says "This Apple ID is only valid for purchases in the US itunes store".

You can't. To buy from another country's iTunes store you need an account in that Store. To have one you need a billing address in that country to setup your account.

  • Two different apple ID's with purchased songs in one library

I have a user who had an ipod. Had several disks and 100 songs or so purchsed under email lets say [email protected], He then purchased an iphone and setup the phone under [email protected] on his work computer. He wanted his music on his work pc so I copied his files from that machine to a portable HDD. Copied the data back to the work PC under the ipod music directory. Selected add folder to library and thye showed up. It asked him for the login for that apple ID and all seemed to work. Just recently it keeps asking for the login and then pops up with the old ipod account as the name. We eneter the verified working password but nothing happens. it just asks again. Those files are sync to the iphone and play from the phone but do not play from itunes. I think the current I tunes version is from an update about 2-3 weeks back, so semi current. The iphone is a 3g and on the latest software. Any known issues with this ability being disabled or suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Brian

    Thank You,
The majority of the songs are playable. I think these were all imported / purchased on the newest account which works fine. It appears he purchased music from 3 different accounts. The newest and some with [email protected] and others with [email protected] When I go to retrieve the password from the apple site it says the other two do not exist. These email accounts are long gone as well. I also tried entering the other two addresses under the field that is given for old accounts. Any ideas on who I can call to see what that password is still available from Apple. If not those songs which were purchased are worthless at this point. Well they do still play on the Iphone just not from Itunes which seems weird. What / who decides to close these old accounts with Apple?
    Thanks,
    Brian

  • HT1296 I recently purchased songs from my iphone.  All good...  But I then went to put them on my ipod touch.  They seemed to have downloaded but the songs wont play and the song title/the text, appears in a grey colour.

I recently purchased songs from my iphone.  All good...  But I then went to put them on my ipod touch.  They seemed to have downloaded but the songs wont play and the song title/the text, appears in a grey colour and there is a downlaod symbol in front of the song title.  what do i do next??  They play on my iphone and from the itunes library but not from my ipod touch.

If the songs are still on your ipod, make sure autosync is disabled in iTunes on your computer, connect and right click on it in the device list, then choose "transfer purchases" to copy all bought media and apps from your ipod to your computer.
If the songs are not on your computer and got deleted from your ipod as well, you can't get them back, unless you have a backup of your iTunes library as part of your computer backup.

Open iTunes and plug in your iPod. On the left sidebar there should be your iPod name (If you can't find the sidebar, go to iTunes menu bar, under View, select Show Sidebar), go to your iTunes playlist and drag the songs you want to your iPod. For all of the songs, go to your iPod music library, even if you don't have songs, and on the bottom there should be a blue-ish bar. There might be a box saying "Autofill from iTunes library" click that ONLY if you want ALL songs from your iTunes to your iPod.
