Putting Spelling Lists on iPod

Aloha, What's the best, easiest way to put homemade audio onto the iPods mini and shuffle? I would like to record spelling lists, vocabulary words, and short stories, such a me reading a book. I was thinking garage band but I heard that it's a lot of converting here and there to get the result. (Plus, I haven't figured out how to do that yet anyway.) So I'm asking if anyone has a simpler solution. The iTalk, I read, doesn't work with the two iPods I have, so I guess I can't use that. Thanks in advance,
Joy, a homeschooling mom

You must have iTunes set up to encode music in MP3 rather than AAC, that is fine, it's just a different type of encoding, both will work on your iPod.
Try these for getting the sound in to the PowerBook:-
Here is a USB Microphone :-

This will let you connect a standard Microphone if you have one already :-

The Microphone on the PowerBook is on the left hand side and it is in side the speaker grill if you have a 15" or 17" PowerBook. On the 12" it is the tiny little hole near the hinge on the left.

  • I had rented some movies, put them onto my Ipod, watched them but now they will not delete from my list and also have expired I want to deleat them, what should I do?

I had rented some movies on Itunes put them onto my Ipod classic, after I had watched them although they had expired they did not delete form the rentals list and almost one year later they are still there. The movies can not be watched and I have tried every thing I can think of, other than restoring the software ( that will probably be the answer ) What should I do?

That is stealing. Your friend has no right/licence to give the songs to you. It violates copyright law.

  • HT1296 I recently purchased songs from my iphone.  All good...  But I then went to put them on my ipod touch.  They seemed to have downloaded but the songs wont play and the song title/the text, appears in a grey colour.

I recently purchased songs from my iphone.  All good...  But I then went to put them on my ipod touch.  They seemed to have downloaded but the songs wont play and the song title/the text, appears in a grey colour and there is a downlaod symbol in front of the song title.  what do i do next??  They play on my iphone and from the itunes library but not from my ipod touch.

If the songs are still on your ipod, make sure autosync is disabled in iTunes on your computer, connect and right click on it in the device list, then choose "transfer purchases" to copy all bought media and apps from your ipod to your computer.
If the songs are not on your computer and got deleted from your ipod as well, you can't get them back, unless you have a backup of your iTunes library as part of your computer backup.

  • I made 2 playlists on Itunes and put them on my Ipod.  How do I get the songs to play consecutively and not keep playing the same song over and over again???

I'm a new Zumba instructor and have to come up with playlists for my routines.  I made 2 playlists on ITunes and put them on my Ipod.  Everytime I want to play it, only one song from the list plays over and over.  The other songs do not.  How do I get the songs to play the way I have them set up??

You can redownload iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
For other music you need to get them from where you got them before.

  • I Can't Put Songs Onto My iPod Touch!

whenever i go onto iTunes and try to put songs onto my iPod using the click and drag method i get this message - 'the iPod "George's iPod" cannot be synced. The disk could not be read from or written to'. What can i do? Please, anyone, even a guess will do...
By the way i have the latest version of iTunes and the latest system thing on my Touch.

I have seen this article listed on many requests for help. I have tried these fixes but the iTouch will get about 200 songs into the sync and then will give the same message. I have successfully synced the iTouch to my laptop (Vista system)but that is not the primary computer for the touch. Are there any other ideas/solutions?

  • Putting pics on my ipod nano (2nd gen)

How do you put pics on your iPod nano?

Here's a simple "How To" on downloading photos from a folder on your hard disk to an iPod:
1 Create a folder on your hard drive to hold the photos you want on your iPod. Call it iPod Photos for example
2 Drag the photos you want from your usual picture folder into the folder you just created
2 Open iTunes, select your iPod in the iTunes Source list.
3 Click the Photos tab and select “Synch photos from.”
4 Choose “Choose Folder” from the pop-up menu and select the iPod photos folder you created.
On a small device like the 2GB Nano I would tend to leave the "Include Full Resolution photos" box unchecked as these will take up a lot of space on the iPod and are only useful if you want to copy photos from one computer to another. iTunes will add "optimised", small TV quality versions of the photos to the iPod for you to view.

  • Why can't Apple put 3G on a iPod touch?

Apple Inc. should put 3G on a iPod touch its similar to the iPad but smaller. Teenagers and kids always try to use the Safari but can't cause they don't got Wi-fi connected and when there on the road or on a trip they would love to have 3G on there iPod touch and they wouldn't be bored.

You're saying then, they they have no Apps (games) on their iPod already that will stave off the boredom.
Perhaps they need to get the right Apps before the trip. iBooks, games, note takers, -  the list goes on. Oh, and presuambly the music on their iPods is boring too.
    Sigh.

  • HT1296 How do you put all music on Ipod back onto a previously crashed computer in which the original music files were not able to be restored?

Hi, HOW DO YOU PUT ALL MUSIC FROM IPOD BACK ONTO A PREVIOUSLY CRASHED COMPUTER IN WHIHC ALL MUSIC FILES WERE UNABLE TO BE RESTORED.
My computer crashed a few months ago and my IT guys were not able to restore my music files.. at least I can't find them. When I log into Itunes, all of my music and play lists appear but when I click to play a song in Itunes on computer, it says the files can not be found. My Ipod obviously has all of my music but I'd like to add more (without deleting what I've got on there) and to copy back whats on my Ipod back to my computer. If I plug together and my computer sync then I will loose all music... needing detailed instructions please.

from what i understand, the procecess is similar on both mac and pc, so i'll try help you here. have you set your preferences to "automatically update all"?
    Yes i have.
if this isn't working, maybe try moving one that you are certain is in the correct format, manually. import it from scratch to your itunes, and then copy it to the ipod.
If i click 'import files' the only files it comes up with are text file. Should it be doing this?' So the only files i can import are written documents :/
If i select 'add files' it dosnt add them to my libary at all.
I tryed what you said, i deleted my movies then loaded one into my libary which i no is in the right format but it still said that it is unable to put into my ipod.
Thanks for trying to help by the way :]

  • How to delete playlists listed under iPod on the Preferences panel?

I have a pesky problem. When I synced my iPod, I got all sorts of playlists of CD's I've added to iTunes in the past (dozens). So, I deleted them in iTunes and re-synced my iPod, only to find the lists there again. I noticed that those old playlists are listed on the iPod panel in Preferences. I suppose I could solve the problem by manually managing my iPod, which is what I normally do, but from time to time I'd like to do an automatic sync without all those old playlists getting put back on my iPod.
The question is: How can I delete the playlists listed on the iPod panel of Preferences?
    Robert

    Hi Robert,
    Welcome to Apple Discussions
So you had playlists in iTunes and the synced to the iPod.
You then deleted then from iTunes but they still appear in the iPod Preferences.
I guess they must be unselected or you would get an error trying to sync the iPod.
I don't know how to get them out of the Preferences.
Maybe you need to ask Apple unless anyone else knows?
    Regards,
    Colin R.

To load full-resolution image files onto iPod:
1 In iTunes, select iPod in the Source pane and click the Photos tab.
    2 Select “Include full-resolution photos.”
    3 Click Apply.

I have not tried this yet, but try making a slide show in iPhoto - then see if it shows up in the source list in iTunes... you may be able to sync it... not sure :%

    Chris CA wrote:
there is not a setting to show compilation artist is my generation
Yes, this setting is on the iPod classic.
On the iPod, go to Settings -> Compilation, set to On.
These will show under Artists -> Compilations.
That sounds like instructions for the 5G/5.5G iPod. For the Classic, the Compilations ON/OFF is kind of subtle ... it is actually part of the +MENU settings+ where if you add it to a menu it is ON and if you hide if from all menus it is OFF. Go to:
    Settings/Main Menu/Compilations
    -or-
    Settings/Music Menu/Compilations
If you select either of these, it will not only put "Compilations" on the appropriate menu as a selectable item, it will turn Compilations ON by removing Compilation Artists from the Artist listing. To turn Compilations OFF you have to have both menu selections de-selected.

  • Dvd ripping to put home dvds onto ipod video

ok so i was told to use "decrypter" and so i went to google and typed it in and it came up with a few results
    the first one was:
    DVD Decrypter
so i click on that and this is what it says:
"This software is no longer available, this page is stored for archival puposes only.
On 24th of November, 2005, Macrovision Europe contacted AfterDawn.com, notifying us that they have acquired full rights to the DVD Decrypter software and have changed its licensing terms. Effective immediately, they have decided to withdraw all distribution rights from all third party companies, including AfterDawn.com. Thus, distributing DVD Decrypter is now as illegal as it would be to distribute cracked copies of Windows operating system or pirated copies of games."
ok so first off what does my trying to put dvds on my ipod have to do with pirated movies and games?
    anyways
    the second result was:
    DVD Fab Decrypter
so i click on that and this is what it says:
"This software is no longer available, this page is stored for archival puposes only.
On 1st of January, 2006, a new copyright legislation came into force in Finland that made it illegal to distribute tools that allow circumvention of technical copy protections. The legislation was approved by Finnish parliament and was based on European Union Copyright Directive, a law that each EU member state has to implement to their national legislations"
So basically how the heck do i get dvds on my ipod using decrypter if it's now illegal to use it?

  • HELP! iTunes won't let me put music on my iPod

I need help, whenever i try to transfer my music on to my iPod, for itunes, it won't let me put it on my iPod.
    I NEED HELP!!!!!
      Windows XP

    Okay, I see.
That's most likely because you are automatically syncing your iPod.
If you click on your iPod in the Source List of iTunes, and go to the "Music" tab, you are probably selected for "Sync", and either selected playlists, or all songs.
On the Syncing optoin, you cannot drag files to your iPod without setting up your iPod for manually managing, perhaps just temporarily.
See this for details on manually managing your iPod:
