Putting stuff on screen
k no one has been able to help me with this but i don't think its really a difficult question. i am making an application that takes the text from an email being composed. my app will pick out specific words from the email and i need it to bold/italic/highlight the specific word ON THE BLACKBERRY SCREEN. can someone help me out please....
I'm assuming you're talking about MIDP in which you have a few options.
If you are using a form, String Items can be used for this purpose. You have to use StringItem.setFont(...) to change the font. afaik, this can only be used to bold/italic or underline it.
If you want to play with colors, you'll have to use a canvas or a custom item, and handle the writing of strings in the paint() method. The only problem with this solution is that you have to cut the text in all the appropriate places because the text does not wrap round automatically. So you'll have to write each line of text manually.

I recommend users to put their computers into sleep mode to save energy, and also, they won't waste time turning on their computers. You should only turn off your computer if you aren't going to use it for a very long time, but sleep mode is perfect. If you just turn off the display, your computer will still be working, so you mustn't do this unless you are going to use your computer in a short time

The option to take apps full screen is still available. Here are the steps on this feature in Yosemite.
Take apps full screen
In many apps, you can expand the window to fill your entire screen. While in full-screen view, swipe to see another app’s full-screen window, to see your desktop, or to see a space you created.
Expand to full-screen view: Click the green full-screen button in the top-left corner of an app window, or press Control-Command (⌘)-F.
Move between windows in full-screen view: Swipe left or right on a trackpad or Magic Mouse. For more information, see Learn trackpad and mouse gestures.
Return to standard view: Move the pointer to the top-left corner of the screen, then click the green full-screen button again, or press Control-Command (⌘)-F.

i just got my macbook pro 3 months ago, when i got it at the authorised dealer store i ask them to put on a screen protector and there's a small crack on my screen. what should i do?
When it gets bad enough, you will need to replace the screen.
Your warranty covers defects in material and workmanship.
That sounds like accidental damage -- glass does not tend to crack spontaneously.
Check your homeowners insurance to see if there might be coverage. -

I have an external hard drive. How do i put stuff on it?
Yes i have an external hard drive a iomega. I have stuff already on it , from when i used to have windows. I have tried to put some files onto it but it wont accept. I tried doing it through the Time machine option but it is saying it will wipe out all previous stuff that is on there. How can i go about putting new stuff on there without having to erase whats already on there. If that makes sense.

RAY.If the drive is formatted fat32 you can copy files to and from that drive. If it is NTFS you cannot write to it (unless maybe you install macfuse), only read.
You don't want to use (can't use) Time Machine since it would want to write to the drive using its own file format and wants an entire volume. And using standard backup programs to copy entire drives are problems too. But you could copy files and folders by explicitly dragging them to that drive (assuming it is fat32). Backup programs like Carbon Copy Cloner could be used so long as you limit the backup to a specific folder.
Frankly you would do better just to get another drive if you want to leave that windows drive alone. That or back up the stuff to a dvd or whatever and then reformat the drive to use on your mac. -

I bought an ipad2 for Christmas, a small crack started near middle of the screen, I put a screen protector on but it spread the length of the screen. It is barely noticeable and everything else is fine. What can I do to get it fixed? Is it under warentee? The store I bought it from said call the apple store. I called the apple store and they said bring it in but store is a 80 minute drive and they might fix it for at least $200 more. I described what happened and employee said that was impossible or basically I am a liar. Any thoughts out there? I just find it hard to believe that with all iPads sold none have had an imperfection with the glass. Mean it still works but why do I neen to pay hundreds of dollars to fix this?
The technician apparently doesn't believe, or at least isn't sure, that the crack would have appeared without some sort of impact to the iPad. I have no way of knowing whether or not the crack in your device appeared spontaneously nor not, but what I believe really doesn't matter; it's what Apple believes, and if they believe that some damage occurred to the iPad, due to a drop, being hit, having something dropped on it, whatever, If you can't convince them that the crack occured spontaneously, then the problem will not be covered under warranty and you have to pay for the replacement. You can try going to the Apple Store, explaining the situation, and hope that the technician agrees that the problem wasn't due to user damage, but no one here can guarantee that. You'll just have to try.
And yes, sometimes people do lie. I'm not saying that you did, but the Apple technician has I'm sure heard a number of lies from people in similar situations.

Custom IAC applications the best way to go for putting R/3 screens on web?

I am trying to figure out whether a Custom IAC would be a best way to go for putting custom developed R/3 transaction on the web. We want to put the R/3 transactions on the web but want to completely customize the look and feel of it. Is IAC the best way to go for it? will this work with any kind of transactions?

The ITS might not be the "best" way, but it sure would be an easy way. If the transaction and screens are already created in the R/3 then you could just go to SE80 and create HTML templates to see if it will do what you want. Steps:
1. Transaction SE80
2. Choose "Internet Service"
3. Type in a custom developed z* name
4. Right-click on the z* name and choose Create > Theme
5. Create theme 99 (standard theme)
6. Right-click on the z* name again and choose Create > Template
7. Type in all information, theme number, program name and screen number. Play with the "Generation Style" to see which one would better fit your transaction.
After creating the screens you can publish to your ITS and give it a test. Maybe this is all you need, if so, it would be fast and readily available.

A way to put stuff on ipod without also having it on my computer?

I'm eating up my computer's memory with albums and pictures and such that I only need on my ipod. I realize that I need to put it on my computer to get it onto my ipod but is there a way that, once I have sync-ed everything from my harddrive to my ipod, that it could stay on my ipod and be removed from my computer? Can I just transfer it or move it to my ipod from my computer instead of synching it?You can certainly erase your iTunes library or your photos or whatever else after you sync your iPod. Just realize that when, not if, you lose everything on your iPod, you'll need to get everything back on your Mac in order to get it back on your iPod. If they don't exist on your Mac, you can't put them back on your iPod. Also, if you add music or photos after erasing the other stuff, and you sync your iPod again, you'll only get the new stuff - the old stuff that you've erased will be gone. You simply need more storage space if you have a lot of stuff to store.
One possibility I can think of would be to get an external firewire HD. You can store all the stuff in your iPhoto Library and your iTunes Library on that. To do this, go to your home folder. Open the Music folder and locate the iTunes Library folder. Drag it to the external HD. Wait for it to copy. Then, after your sure it copied correctly, delete the iTunes library form your Macbook. Next, create an alias (File-Make Alias) of the iTunes Library of the iTunes Library folder on your external HD. You can then move the alias to the Music folder in your Home folder on the Macbook's HD. Remove the "alias" part form the name on your Macbook HD. When iTunes launches, the alias on the HD will point it to the actual folder on the external HD. You can repeat the process with your iPhoto Library and any other folders you need.

Put iPod Touch screen to sleep, leave accelerometer on?
I know that it has not been possible to put the screen of the iPod Touch to sleep but leave other parts of the Touch on. I don't know why Apple designed it this way since it is possible to do this on the iPhone. I have tried to determine whether this was remedied in the iOS4 update, but I can't find anything about it so I'm guessing no. I am specifically hoping that it is now (or will be soon) possible to use the app "Sleep Cycle" on the iPod Touch, which would require the accelerometer to stay on while the screen is off. The app's creators currently say it's not compatible with the Touch because of this problem. Any insight?

OSX AIR publish puts Simulator off screen (inaccessible)
I'm using OSX with multiple monitors. I have Flash CC on my main monitor. When I publish (test movie) for AIR it displays the adl window just fine, but it puts the Simulator way off screen somewhere. I can see it if I use expose to reveal all windows (F3), and the window according to expose looks like a large transparent area with a little panel in the top left. When I click it, expose just puts it back off screen somewhere.
Any idea how I can get Flash Pro CC to put the simulator somewhere I can access it?
I also tried unplugging all my external monitors and just using my laptop, and it does the same thing.
