Putting text or date on picture on a calendar date

When placing a picture on a calendar date, the date disapppears. Is there a way to allow for the calendar date to appear or to add text to the picture?
I know you can caption the picture and the text shows on a date above the picture. Not the best solution.
In regard to my question I found this answer that was posted in 2006. I can't get it to work.
"You can get text over the pictures.
The trick is to cntr-click the picture and send it to the back. One would think this would be enough. However, you now need to cntr-click in the LOWER part of the square and select bring to front TWICE.
Using this recipe, I can consistently get text over pictures (and even change the color of the text for more contrast). However, this change does not seem to hold once you quit and restart iPhoto, at least for me. I am looking for confirmation of this fact in another message before I submit a bug report."
I have iPhoto9 on one computer and iPhoto11 on another. I don't know what version was used in the above suggestion.
Sure would be nice too if you could save all the data (like birthdays) from the calendar of the previous year and import it to a current year calendar.
Three Apple technicians have told me - Great Idea - but it never gets done.

It's not possible to get that day's date to show over the photo. Send a feature request to Apple via http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphoto.html.
You can use a 3rd party editor from within iPhoto as the external editor to add a date to the photo before adding to the calendar.

You could create your text page as a PDF file and convert it to a JPEG or PNG file in Preview. Then add this image file instead of a photo to your calendar. But I see no way to remove the dates from the page.

Right - you can not add text to photos with iPhoto - you must use an external editor

Select all the photos that you need to change, then click the "Photos" menu and choose "Adjust Date and Time".
If you add a year, it will adjust all the photos that you selected by adding a year (so if you accidentally select one of the photos that already has "2012", that will change to "2013").

I am trying to make a photo book thats i can put text over a picture

I am trying to create a photo book that allows me to put text over a photo.
The only book that kinda allows for this is the photo essay book but the text box is really small and cannot be adjusted.
The older version of iphoto allowed you to plave a pictures behind a text page and fade the picture into the background.
Can anyone help???
do i need to revert to the old iphoto or is there a way to have a picture in the background with a bigger text box on one of teh photo books now avalaible?

You can still have a photo for a text page background. Go to the layout pane for the text page and click on the photo background icon:
Then drag the photo you want as the background into the page.

Putting time and dates on pictures

does anyone know how to put time and dates on pictures that are being taken?

Without knowing what exactly is the difference it is difficult to "advice on what PSE9 is doing". Can you post what is the "correct" date on the photo in the camera and what is the date now in PSE. I would expect some time difference between the two because the timezone may be different in the camera and the timezone on your computer might also be different but correct t because of auto-update in computers using the Internet.
To give you an example, if your timezone is Central Time (US and Canada) then 10:00 hours on your photo will have a different time when moved to a computer with timezone set in Dublin, London, Lisbon or Edinburgh. the difference will be 6 hours. Apart from this I can't think of anything else.

Hi all
i am creating a report in 10g.. in which i want to convert Emp_lump_sum (number) to character .I have created a formula column in which i have written a function in the formula column and assign that formula column to the text field in which i want the result.
when the report run i get the following error....
ORA-01830: date format picture ends before converting entire input string..
i have tried with a attribute EMP_NO (Varchar2(30)), it shows the result but when i add EMP_LUMP_SUM (NUMBER) , it show the above error. on the database side i get the same error.
Database : 11g
OS :     Windows server 2003
reports   : 10g
any help will be thankful..

I am using apex_item.date_popup for a custom tabular form.
When I load the form with the default sysdate it works ok. However when the user submits an invalid date I get: ORA-01830: date format picture ends before converting entire input string.
Ex: apex_item.date_popup (2, NULL, ac.my_date, :f_date_format, LENGTH (:f_date_format), LENGTH (:f_date_format),NULL)
Where f_date_format is 'DD-MON-YYYY'...
If I enter 'abc' in this field and click submit, my validations find that it is an invalid date, so I reload the page with ac.my_date is the value that the user entered (ex: 'abc'). This will cause the error...
I understand why the error occurs, but is it correct that it does happen? Any ways around this?

I want to put picture on item master data. I'm already set up picture folder on General Setting in C:/SAP Images.
If I'm uploading the picture on C:/SAP Images in my computer, another user can't see the picture.
I'm trying to upload in the server (C:/SAP Images) but the problem still happen. Only SAP on server that can see the picture.
So where do I have to put the picture ?

The Client should Connect to the Server automaticaly rather giving User Name and Password.
In User Machine > Go to RUN >
Server name
1. it should connect without asking password, to attain this each client should be register in SEVER Machin. (Take a help of IT ADMIN)
2. That Picture folder should be shared and tht folder should have full access to the user.
3. Define Picture Folder Path in SAP as
Server Name\Path...

Printing the date the picture was taken

Does version 5 of Elements enable the printing of the date a picture was taken on the picture itself? I know that information is included in the picture file, but do not know how to access it for printing on the photo itself.
It would be most convenient if Elements would allow the positioning of the date on the photo - especially if it has been cropped.
I currently use version 4 and have not been able to accomplish this task. If it can be done in 4, please let me know how.
Incidentally, I am not interested in typing a text field on the photo type of solution to this problem.

1. Set up a new document, 1000px x 300 px, resolution 300 ppi, white background
2. Make sure black is the foreground color, then click on text tool
3. Type text. Size will vary depending on the font that you use; try starting with 36-48 - - you can always change it later. The text need not be centered as the large canvas gives you room to play with. You can drag the text into position if it runs off the edge of the canvas, or move it with the move tool.
4. After you have typed the text, CTRL+click on the text layer in the Layers palette. This will select the text only, without the background.
5. Go to Edit>define brush. At this point the brush will be added to the currently active brush set
6. To save the brush in the new set, employ the preset manager.
It has been my experience that a customized brush can be stylized to look quite elegant as we have discussed in several recent posts and that placement can be effected to preserve the aesthetics of a nice picture, albeit within limits.
