Putting videos back on iPhone?

I've been carefully backing up all of my camera roll onto an external hard drive so I can remove the larger video files once I'm done editing them in iMovie on the phone. I thought I could move them back via drag-and-drop on my laptop. But no go.
Any suggestions how I might get a saved native iPhone video back onto my iPhone? They are too big to e-mail.
Thanks in advance.

From page 58:
"You can also sync photos and videos from any folder on your Mac or PC that contains images."
This was the first thing I tried. I created a folder specfically for this, put in the videos I wanted back on my phone and selected this folder in the Photos tab. When syncing was done, it showed a (0) after the folder for the number of images synced, and that folder did not appear on my phone at all.
Hmmm. I think I'll call Apple tech support. I'll report their response.

  • Put videos back into Photos app??!!!!

Here's the thing... I take random videos now and again when I'm out with friends etc just silly stuff really, but I love looking back at these videos months later. I'm finding with my iPhone that I delete most of my videos say from a weekend away leaving 1 or 2 on there, but even this takes up quite a bit of space over time and I have to delete some more later on to have room to shoot new ones.
I want to be able to put videos back into the photos section of my iPhone 4 in native format (no conversion) and I'm pretty sure they can only be put in the videos section of itunes and synced to videos section of iPod on iPhone (I tried adding to an iphoto album but it didn't transfer to photos section)
Does anyone know if dropping videos into itunes in HD as they are will allow them to sync back to iPhone without conversion?
Does anyone know of a way of adding HD videos shot on iPhone back to iPhone without having to double them up by putting them through iTunes?
I have all my videos stored in a folder on my imac so I can move them around easily, play on my different computers etc but having to add a few to itunes just to watch them on my phone again seems like such a pain.
    Ideas welcome
    Cheers

In the photos section of the iPhone sync page, there is an option to sync videos as well I believe?
    Have you tried that?
(I don't have iTunes with me at work so can't remember for sure)

  • I can't put video on my iphone

I have some music videos and movies that I can't put on my iphone. I had the music videos on there before and then I bought a tv show off itunes. When I went to sync up the show it said it would delete the videos. I didn't think it would be a problem but now I can't get the videos back on there no matter what I try. My husband says it's because we updated the phone and we can't do it anymore. Can someone please help me?

*Make sure the videos you are trying to sync can be found and played in your itunes library first and foremost.*
Next go to the video/movies tab in itunes and uncheck the box to sync that media and hit apply to stop syncing that media. You should get that nasty message saying that it will delete the media off the phone. Click ok. Next check the box that you just unchecked and click apply again.
See if that brings over the video to the phone.

  • Cannot Sync iPhone Video back to iPhone

Alright, so I took some video on my iPhone 3GS. As part of my normal archiving process, I have all photos and videos from the iPhone automatically imported into a specific album ("iPhone Album") in Adobe Photoshop Elements 7 upon connecting my iPhone to my PC.
When the importing is done, I have it set up to automatically delete the pictures out of the Camera Roll (since I now have a copy of them in Elements).
Then, when I sync via iTunes, I have it setup to sync the iPhone Album back to the iPhone.
The net effect of this is to move all of the Camera Roll pictures and video to the "iPhone Album" where it joins some pictures that come from elsewhere and exists in duplicate -- one on the iPhone one in Elements.
The problem is that when you sync a PSE Album to the iPhone it DOES NOT sync videos contained in that album -- EVEN VIDEOS ORIGINALLY TAKEN WITH THE IPHONE.
Any workarounds for this? I'm assuming this is a bug and that it's not actually intended to work this way, correct?
    Thanks!

I don't think this is a bug - I think it's by design. The iPhone has always synced video via iTunes to the iPod app - that's the model. And it's always stored anything captured with the camera to the Photos app.
I agree it's illogical (and annoying) that, on the phone, video captures got to the Photos app. Maybe there should be a separate Videos app to make more sense.
I'm not defending it - simply saying that it probably isn't a bug

  • Putting videos back on to the Bloggie

I have a Sony Bloggie and love it. I have taken videos OFF the camera successfully and stored them on the computer. My question is, I would like to put a video BACK on the camera to show it. I have tried using Windows explorer to copy it to the camera [camera when USB attached is recognized as "mass drive"]. That's how I have removed the video in the first place.
Can't get video back on the camera. Any suggestions??
Thanks in advance for your advice.

Thanks for the reply, however, that wasn't the problem. What happened was:
I removed the videos OFF the camera on to the computer desktop and renamed them. I wanted to put one of them BACK on the camera but the Sony Bloggie is "fussy" about naming nomenclature and would NOT accept the new name for the movie. The little txt file created with the movie gives a thumbnail on the camera for you to ID it. I had deleted that too.
I download the movies using the explorer directory and moved them to a folder on the desktop. I could "add" the movies back to the camera using the explorer but the camera did NOT recognize them because of the naming nomenclature. It will ONLY recognize the file if it is named "MAH00###.MP4" [#'s = number of image / movie <> but what's important is the MAH00.
I hope this helps all of us. Discovered this on my own <> always experimenting and that's how I discovered my mistake. So if after you remove movies from the Bloggie and you want to put them back on make sure you "retain" Bloggie's naming nomenclature.
Hope this helps everyone with this problem!

  • How to copy photos/videos back to iPhone's Camera Roll?

Genius bar told me to reset my 3GS to try solving an unrelated problem, but they mentioned I should save my photos first. I copied the photos and videos from the Iphone/Internal Storage/DCIM/100Apple directory onto my PC's hard drive.
However, after I reset the iphone, I found that I cannot copy the files back into the iPhone's /100Apple directory. What gives? The device/folder is not listed as read-only, but I'm still not allowed to copy the photos back.
I should note that I am not interested in syncing the photos as an album through itunes, I want the iphone photos and videos back in the Camera Roll. Is there a way to do this?

A reset is just holding the power and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and ignoring the slide to power off screen. This is mearly a reboot like a computer. A restore wipes the phone, reinstalls the OS and the native apps. If you restore from a backup, it then takes the backup it made of the phone and resinstalls all of that data. If you restore as a new phone, all it does is reinstall the OS and native apps and the phone is like it was when you bought it, except it will have the latest OS if there has been a change since you bought it. Many times, if someone has some type of problem with the phone,it can be traced back to corruption in a file, and restoring from a backup will just restore the corrupted file. Restoring as new allows to start fresh.
As I mentioned earlier, leaving photos in the camera roll can be dangerous as you run the risk of losing them, as you have seen. The ability to copy items into the camera roll folder is like copying material into the OS, and Apple has not allowed that in the past. That is why they designed the syncing of pictures to the photo library. Another issue that has cropped up lately is the fact that some pictures saved from the Internet, MMS or email into the camera roll has caused some issues with the iPhone being recognized by the computer as having pictures on it. It becomes necessary to delete those photos to enable photo importing again. Something else to be mindful of until they fix it. Just a good idea to import the photos so you have them in case of a failure on the phone.

  • Syncing Video back into iPhone

I took a video with iPhone, loaded into iPhoto, put in a picture folder, but when sync that folder back onto phone, the video isn't there, just the stills are.
So how do I do that?
    Thanks!

Did you check the "Include videos" checkbox in the "Photos" tab of the sync window in itunes.

  • Copying videos back from Iphone 4 to laptop

I have few videos that were copied to Iphone through iTunes using my laptop. Now the laptop HDD is gone bad and i had replaced with a new one. I want those videos copied back to my laptop from IPhone. How do i do that.

One of the link says as below,
You can import only photo and video content taken with the built-in camera or captured on the device. You cannot import photo or video content synced from iTunes.
Isnt there any way to copy the video content synced from iTunes????

  • Put ringtones back onto iphone 5s

I have about 25 ringtones I created.  They disappeared from my iphone 5s recently.  I cannot figure out how to get them back onto my phone.
In iTunes, when I plug my phone into my computer (Dell laptop-Windows 8.1) and click on my device, I can see a Tones folder with my ringtones listed there, but they will not play so somehow those files are empty.
When I look in iTunes-Music-Tones, they are there and will play.
Why did they disappear from my phone and how do I get them back onto the phone?
    Thanks.

    Nevermind.

  • Getting videos onto ipad/iphone/ipod

So, I have a series of videos that are in mp4 format and are inserted into itunes and are rigged to play using itunes.  I can find the videos in itunes under home videos, and they play in itunes with no difficulties.
I recently upgraded my phone from the 4 to the 5s.  I also own an ipad mini, an ipod touch, and an ipod classic.  I was able to put videos on my iphone 5s really easily, and they are fully functional.  However, this is not where I want to store the video as I do not wish to use my active phone, potentially draining the battery and leaving myself without access to a phone.  I want the videos on my other devices.
I have updated all of my devices.  I cannot seem to get the videos on my other devices.  Why can I not get the videos on my other devices?  WHY DOES APPLE NEED TO MAKE THIS SO BLOODY DIFFICULT?!!!

  • How do i transfer a video back onto my iPhone in the Photo app where it originally was and can be shared from (NOT the video app)

I have a video that i originally took using my iphone but then transfered to my PC.  I want to put it back onto my iPhone in the photo app (NOT video app) so i can share it straight from my phone.
Since one of the iphone updates enabled the volume button as a camera shutter button and i was shooting the video one handed, i held the camera with the volume buttons on top.  Unfortunatly, the phone still saves it in such a way that only the iphone and itunes recognize the proper orientation intended and when it's opened with any other device or program, it automatically makes the part of the video that's against the smooth side of the phone always the top side (regardless of if that makes the video sideways or upside down).  I was able to get the video back onto my phone as a "video" where it shows up in the video app as a "movie" and there are no options to share via text, email, youtube (which were options when the video was still in the photo app).  I need to be able to share the video with family

Have you transferred photos from your computer to your iPhone which is selected under the Photos tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes?
If so, you can place this video in the folder of photos on your computer that is selected to be transferred to your iPhone via the iTunes sync process. Under the Photos tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes, select Include Videos.

  • Syncing videos taken with iPhone 3GS to iPhoto and back to iPhone again!

    Sorry,
I know this has been asked and answered many times over on this forum I still don't understand why these won't sync back?
Videos taken with iPhone 3GS. They will play on iPhone. Now synced back to iMac. Videos will play on iPhoto. They will not sync back to iPhone. Yes, the option under the iPhone in iTunes (Photos>Sync Photos From [iPhoto]>All photos and albums>Include Videos is checked.
    Any ideas?
Thanks in advance for your help!

    Thanks,
I will give that a try. But why in the world did they put that option in the iPhone Sync menu in iTunes under the Photos tab if it does nothing at all??
