  • Putting video from TV onto iPod

I want to record live TV and put it on my computer so I can then put it on my iPod.
What can I do to record live TV and what do I need to buy to put it on to my computer?

For starters, it is outside of the scope of this discussion forum to be able to tell you how to record live television. As much as I can say to that you may be able to find some third-party software which will link between your television and PC or use an existing PC/TV tuner card to capture video. Again, it is simply outside of the scope of discussion.
However, I can tell you about the next step after you figure out how to get video from your television to your computer. You will need the following items: a fifth generation iPod, a high-powered USB port (USB 2.0 recommended), iTunes 6 or later to transfer video to the Fifth Generation iPod, and lastly, video content that is in an iPod compatible format I believe you can use Quicktime Pro 7 or above to 'convert' the video into an iPOD-usable format.
Now as for what type of video content should play on your iPOD here are some suggestions for use: video content purchased from the iTunes Music Store, videos that have been converted for iPod with QuickTime 7 Pro using the Creating Video for iPod tutorial, and videos that have been converted for iPod with iMovie, Final Cut Pro, and others.
Below are some additional and helpful video-related guidelines and formats that the Fifth Generation iPOD should be able to play:
    H.264
File formats: .m4v, .mp4, and .mov
Video: Up to 768 kbits/sec, 320 x 240, 30 frames per second (fps), Baseline Profile up to Level 1.3.
Audio: AAC-LC up to 160 kbits/sec, 48 Khz, and stereo audio.
    MPEG-4
File formats: .m4v, .mp4, and .mov
    Video: Up to 2.5 Mbits/sec, 480 x 480, 30 fps, Simple Profile.
Audio: AAC-LC up to 160 kbits/sec, 48 Khz, stereo audio.

  • Putting Photos from computer onto iPad

Why can I not add more than one folder of my photos from computer to iPad. used to be able to have multiple folders, now if I add one it removes the one that's one there. Want to be able to have a few different folders of my photos on iPad. How do I do this

Another way. You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive (works the same with an SD card) into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)

  • Error message when try to sync a video from computer to ipod.  Help?  ;)

The video plays fine in my library but when I try syncing it to view on my ipod touch I get the following error....
video1.mov was not copied because the video format is not supported by the ipod
Anybody be able to help me out here? Thanks.

    Hello seamas08,
    And welcome to Apple Discussions!
Was this video downloaded from the iTunes store or imported from elsewhere? If you imported it into iTunes from elsewhere, try using iTunes built in converter to convert the video to an even friendly iPod format. To do this, locate the video in iTunes and highlight it. Then choose "Create iPod or iPhone version" from the Advanced drop down menu. Lastly, try syncing the newly converted video to your iPod.

  • How to put video from camera onto itouch

Hi. How do I transfer video/movie files taken with my camera, from My Pictures to my itouch? I've tried opening them with itunes, but no success. I've also put them in a folder and tried to sync with photo folders. Again no success. Obviously I'm not doing something ..... but don't know what!! Any advice? Thanks

Hi .. I've downloaded videora, and it works well ... in spite of the watermark .. .
The problem with converting the video with itunes is that I can't get the video INTO itunes until it has been converted. Anyway, videora converts them quickly, but they're only short clips ... I certainly wouldn't convert hours of video!

  • Putting videos from dvds onto itunes

how do i do it, cause i want to put my rolling stone conserts onto it.

search on tucows.com/softpedia.com/download.com for ripping software and also you'll need software to convert to mpeg4 format. I got it to work though I can't recall the name of the software that I used. I had to try a few before I found one that worked.
You may need to purchase software to put a whole dvd on there...
    take luck!

  • Putting photos from mac onto itouch or iphone.

I am anew user in the mac world and would love to find out how to put photos from computer onto my Itouch and Iphone. Help me please.

As with all other data you sync or transfer via iTunes. When you connect your device then select it from iTunes' sidebar you can click on the various tabs in the main window where you can configure what to sync to the device. One of those tabs is 'Photos.' You have the option of transferring all the pictures in your iPhoto library if you use one. If not, then put the pictures you want transferred into a separate folder and select that folder in the iTunes 'Photos' tab.
I do believe you will find this explained in the user manual for the Touch and the iPhone. If you don't have one then you can download a PDF copy from support.apple.com/manuals/.

  • Problem transferring video from iTunes to iPod

I can't transfer video from iTunes to iPod. DVD movies converted to MP4 using Cucusoft software and a TV show purchased from iTunes Music Store won't transfer. The only video that has tranferred successfully is a video podcast called "Tiki Bar". It did ok.

Connect the iPod and go to edit-->preferenes. Click the iPod tab. Click the videos tab under that. Make sure automatically update all videos is selected.
Note: Your preferences may look slightly different.
Also, try playing the video you purchased from the iTunes Music Store for a few seconds on your computer.

  • Cant put songs from itunes to ipod

Cant put songs from itunes to ipod, i have itunes on my computer at my house and i have i tunes on my computer at work.
It will only let me have songs either from my house or my work not both, if i try to drag the songs into the ipod symbol it wont let me put it in my ipod
anyone know what the problem is???

If you want to connect and use an iPod on more than one computer (As in your case where you have one at home and one you use at work) you can change the update preference to "manually manage songs and playlists. By doing this, you can listen to your iPod at work where you may have iTunes but no songs or a different set of songs on the computer.
See these links for more detail:
    Using iPod with Multiple computers
    Managing Your Songs Manually
    For info: iPod 101
The iPod offers three ways to transfer music from your computer. You can select one of the following update modes from the iPod Preferences menu in iTunes (Edit=>Preferences=>'iPod' tab):
    1) Automatically update all songs and playlists. This is the default mode, in which your entire music library, including playlists, is automatically synced to your iPod. If the music library on your computer exceeds the iPod storage capacity, you are prompted to select a different update method.
    2) Automatically update selected playlists only. With this option, iTunes automatically copies the playlists you have selected to the iPod when you connect it to the computer.
    3) Manually manage songs and playlists. You can also choose to transfer music to the iPod manually. This allows you to drag and drop individual songs and playlists from iTunes to the iPod.
