  • Video wouldn't play on iPod; Used Videora & still won't work

Hey guys, I have a 30 GB Video iPod, and I'm a bit new at this. I have some videos I downloaded and when I tried putting them into my iPod, it said it could not be played, since it was in .avi format.
But then, I found out about Videora, so I decided to try to convert my videos in Videora so it can play on my iPod video. Now, if anyone has used Videora before, they know that they have alot of options like MPEG-4/320x240/768 kpbs Stereo/128 kbps to H264/320x240/16:9/640 kpbs Stereo/128 Kpbs. When my video finished converting, I tried putting it into my iPod again, and it said it could not be played, even though it was in .mp4 format.
Could someone please tell me which one I should use, MPEG-4 or H264 ? And tell me what I'm doing wrong? I used Videora once to download a video, and now I can't seem to remember what I did. PLEASE HELP!?

  • Can transfer videos to iPod via Videora: SOUND but no MOVIE!!!

I have been able to transfer videos (after they were converted using Videora iPod Converter) to iTunes and then to the iPod. But when I go to play it, I hear the sound but I don't see the movie. I have the tv out feature set to OFF as well. Can anyone help me? Anyone who solves this has just about solved the video problem for hundreds of others as well!!! Please help.

Hmmm that is weird. Have you gone into your Ipod options and made sure under video, that you DO NOT have "do not update videos" selected. If that is not the problem then try this.
Make a new playlist to hold your videos in your Ipod. Then under "videos" in your Ipod options select "Automatically update selected playlist only", and then select the playlist that you created to hold your videos and click "ok". After you do that put the videos into your library, then from your library click and drag the videos into the playlist you created to hold your Ipod. Then update your Ipod and you should have them on their.

  • Help with putting videos on Ipod

Hey all. I'm a little new to this. I'm having trouble putting videos on my Ipod. When I try to put them in i get a message saying "Some of the songs in the Itunes music libary, including the song "...", were not copied to the IPod because they cannot be played on this IPod.
Maybe they're the wrong file type? It does this for every video I have. How can I solve this problem? Thanks for your help!

you need to convert the videos either to .mov or .mp4. either will be compatible for the ipod. you need to use 3rd party software not supported by apple.windows users have had trouble or success using this software.

  • How to Put videos in ipod nano 5th gen

Can anyone help me how to put video here i what do i need to insltall or what should i do????its my first time having ipod so dont know what to do i can sync music but i cant sync videos can anyone help me...

The nano can be used as a flash drive by going to My Computer then opening the ipod.Once in you will find a file called DCIM. Inside that file you should find a file called 000APPLE that is where video is stored onto your nano. You can just drag and drop it onto your computer. And if you computers players are up to date you should just be able to play them like normal on your computer then. Other wise you have to find out what software on your computer works with the sync option in itunes. I do not know what PC software that is because I have only pulled video off my nano and dont need to sync.

Go into your ipod preferences and check the box that will automaticly add the videos to your itunes video library. This is, if you are transferring a home video or a movie. After the movie has been saved to your libraryI, just drag your selection to the ipod icon. If you are buying a video off of itunes, it should save to your itunes library anyway. Hope this helps.

  • Compressing video for iPod using QuickTime 7 Pro ("expert")

    Hi all,
I purchased QuickTime 7 Pro thinking I would be able to compress 640x480 H.264 video for an iPod. I have a specific application that requires precise control over the compression -- that is, the no-option "Movie to iPod" export setting ain't gonna cut it.
I have tried many, many different setting combinations using "Movie to MPEG-4" and "Movie to QuickTime Movie" under "File" --> "Export" in QuickTime, and I have been careful to limit sizes and bitrates per iPod tech specs as published on the Apple Web site. However, while all of the H.264 files I have output will open in iTunes, none of them will sync to my iPod. Videos I output using standard MPEG-4 compression will sync to my iPod (and look awful), but videos using H.264 will not.
Does anyone know what settings I can use to export 640x480 H.264 video to my iPod, and how I can have more control over the process than just "Movie to iPod?"
    Thanks!

What I got (the technical details):
WinXP Pro with all the latest updates on Intel
    5G 60GB iPod w/ firmware ver 1.2
    QuickTime 7.1.3 Pro
    iTunes 7.0.1.8
multiple Wintel machines   Windows XP Pro

    Welcome to the discussions, Joeysirmons.
The developer that created VisualHub (Only for the Mac) has discovered how to create iPod compatible 640x480 video where the user has full control over the compression. The changes he made were to some public libraries so these methods should be finding their way to the ffmpeg based tools for Windows soon.

  • Can't put videos on ipod

i have bought a ipod video 30gb. but when i try to copy any videos into my ipod. there is a message that is doesn't works. at this site they say that i have to convert my video with iTunes. and when i do this, i can copy the video into my ipod, but there is no sound. what is wrong?
    thank you

Quicktime, Quicktime Pro and iTunes don't convert "muxed" ( muxed means multiplexed where the audio and video are stored on the same track) video files properly. It only plays the video and not the audio.
See:iPod plays video but not audio.
You need a 3rd party converter to convert the file with both audio and video.
See this for help: Guide to converting video for iPod (Mac/Windows).

  • The hardest task to date. putting videos on Ipod.

30 gig Video Ipod. I have tried all weekend to put my downloaded scrubs episodes on to my new Ipod. No luck.
I tried ffmpeg first, then movie to go, then QT7, then pqdvd, I can't use handbrake because I downloaded these from bittorrent.
Using QT7 I could add to itunes library and watch and listen to the show, but I couldn't get the show on to the ipod.
I finally tried another exporting idea mentioned in this discussion forum, however I can not see or here anything. What an I doing wrong? see a whote screen and have no audio, but I can get the file on to the Ipod. Earlier, again, I could see the show and hear it in Itunes but could not get the file onto ipod.
    Some on please help. Please.
    thanks.

There is more than one AVI format out there. If you have QT Pro and the conversion is not working, then you will likely need either the DivX or 3ivX component for QT. Unfortunately, DivX has yet to get its v5 component to work with QT 7 and v6 for Mac has yet to be released. (Not sure about the status of 3ivX.) Of course, you can always look for a third party standalone application or use QT 6 (if available on another computer) with older component to perform the conversion using manual settings with MPEG4 preset. (Don't forget to turn off streaming settings.)

  • I can't put videos on ipod 30g

    Hello:
I have an ipod 30g but I can't transfer videos from my computer to the ipot only the videos that I buy from itunes, and I bought the quick time 7 pro to convert my videos but it dosen't work or maybe I don't know how to do it, can any one help me with that?
    Thanks

As Jeff pointed out, the Videora iPod Converter (free) is a Windows specific application that you should probably install if for no other reason that to convert "muxed" (single audio/video stream multimedia) formats. However, since you have already paid for QT Pro, I don't suggest you simply toss it away. While QT Pro is very slow when using the dedicated "Movie to iPod (320x240)" export option, it can also be used with the "Movie to MPEG4" manual preset collection to enter settings which can be much faster. In addition, QT Pro employs a gernerally "tight" compression strategy which may come in handy with some movie content. Basically, different converters work somewhat differently and sometimes one works better than another with a particular movie or if a single application is used, will need to be "tweaked" to operate at its best. So it is always a good idea to have more than one converter available if needed. After a fair amount of use you will likely gravitate to one application for general use based on the file types you use most often and their content.
