Putting Webdynpro ABAP application on portal

Hi all,
We have SAP ECC 6.0 as the ABAP system and EP 7.0 SP 6 is the portal. I want to show a Webdynpro ABAP application on the portal which I have created in the ECC system.
I have an created an application in the back end with the following parameters :-
Webdynpro Component name :- ZTESTWEBDYNPRO
Webdynpro Application name :- ztestwebdynpro
I then created a Webdynpro ABAP iview with following parameters :-
Application name :- ztestwebdynpro
Namespace :- sap
System :- SAP_ECC_SERP (this has been tested and is working).
We also have SSO configured with logon ticket to the ECC system.
But I am getting a "Page cannot be displayed" error when I execute the application.
Any idea why this can occur?

Hi Hari,
So assuming you have tested the connection to the system,
perhaps another service, BSP, ITS , whatever
and that it is creating WEB DYNP ABAP iviews that is the drama.
Under EP 7.0, be sure to choose Iview type WEB Dynp ABAP.
the properties page with application parameters is:
SYSTEM -> As created to access system, available in dropdown
Namespace - > sap
Application name -> <your WDA> case as created in SE80
So it looks like you have entered correctly to me.
Perhaps the portal Forum has more info if you have continued issues.

Hi Kundan,
First create a WD abap component and then you have to integrate in the portal.

Apply custom themes to WebDynpro ABAP application in Portal

Hi,
We have just upgraded the E-Recruitment to EHP4. We have two instances of ECC in which one acts as HR instance and the other one for E-Recruitmet. We have created custom themes for portal and need to apply the same for the WebDynpro ABAP applications for E-REcruitment. I have downloaded the theme and from portal and uploaded the same in MIME folder using SE80 transaction. I have also added the parameter sap-cssurl=/sap/public/themes/<my custom theme folder name>.
Also tried giving the url in application parameter as
SAP-EP-THEMEROOT=http://<hostname>/irj/portalapps/com.sap.portal.design.portaldesigndata/themes/portal/customer/<custom theme>
Is there any other way to apply themes for WD ABAP applications. I dont want to customize the standard applications and just want to apply the themes.
Any suggession on this is highly appreciated.

to create theme for webdynpro abap application, use Eclipse Plugin. Please remeber to check the version of theme file before using theme.

Exit from Webdynpro abap application in portal environment

Hi,
I created one custom service in Webdynpro ABAP in ESS and also integrated in the portal environment
I need to put Exit button in every page ( OVERVIEW, EDIT, REVIEW). When user click on 'EXIT' button from any one of page , it should return back to PERSONAL INFORMATION in ESS Homepage.
I have used Exit plug in window , but i read in SAP Library Exit plugs will not work in portal environment.
Let me know which way i should proceed to acheive the Exit functionality.

Debugging the webdynpro abap application from portal.

I developed a WebDynpro application and integrated in portal. I have to catch some portal events.For that i have written some code in my application. I tried to debug the application from portal by using all the available break-point types.but we could not .
Anybody have an idea how to debug a WebDynpro application from portal.

a) Check on number of R/3 sessions opened at a time.
b) Check that user ID configured in portal using System Mapping Under 'Delegate User Administration' is the same user for which you are setting external breakpoint in backend system.

WebDynpro ABAP application opening blank in portal

Dear All,
There is a strange issue which is being faced by one user. when the user tries to access a Webdynpro ABAP application in Portal then it opens in new window but nothing is displayed in the tray. Now when the user right clicks on the opened window->properties and copies the url from properties and pastes it in new tab (IE 8 is used) then the application opens and works fine.
The portal and backend roles are fine for the user as he can access/work when the application is opened using the copied url.
Please suggest what could be the problem for the user. For other users the issue mentioned is not there.

Calling Portal iView from a WebdynPro ABAP application

I have a requirement where I need to call an iView in my portal from the Webdynpro application also existing in the portal.

Well, I think you can go for Portal Navigation concept.
Please check the required source code in WDR_TEST_PORTAL_NAV Web Dynpro component. That will illustrate both Page based Navigation and Object based Navigation.

WebDynpro ABAP application issue from Portal after ECC 6 upgrade to SP14

Hi,
We have recently upgraded the Kernel, ABAP and Java stack of ECC 6.0 system to SP14. After the upgrade most of the WebDynpro ABAP applications doesn't load and just flickers when run from Portal as a WebDynpro iView, but they run perfectly fine when accessed directly using URL. These were running fine prior to the upgrade. Can someone suggest what can be going wrong.

Hi Mukesh,
As Gajendra said, restarting the service in SICF sometimes works for us, but not always. We have also had to deactivate the entire Webdynpro node, and then reactivate it and all of the services below it.
Obviously something changed in the SP, given that we now have to do this every time we create a new WDA application.

Above it, the examples of SWDP will not work if you test them from SE80-ABAP WAS...I suggest you to create a WDA IView in Portal and test it in Portal itself.

[HELP] Webdynpro Abap application keeps refreshing on Portal

Hello Gurus,
Im facing a really annoying and weird problem, i've created a screen exit on the transaction IW21, on this screen i have a custom container, and im using the class cl_gui_html_viewer to show off a webdynpro abap application on this container. If i access IW21 via SAP GUI everything works fine, no problema at all. But once we've published this transaction IW21 on Portal something very weird happened, the webdynpro application keeps refreshing on every action done in the screen. I've entered on debug mode to verify if the program is performing the code to create the html object again, but the program pass in the perform only once. An example: when i click in save the program pops a screen to choose some characteristics and i can clearly see the webdynpro application refreshing under this screen, like if i press F5 on browser. As i said everything goes pretty much fine in SAP GUI, but in Portal keeps refreshing.
Anyone have any idea how can i solve this?

Deploy Webdynpro ABAP application without logon portal

We have a Webdynpro ABAP application bulit in ECC to deploy. User wants to access the application via an URL on their webpage instead of logon SAP portal. They do not want the application to show the portal header and navigation area.
With the help of portal support, we created an URL iView to access the application with parameter NavMode=3 (e.g. http: //portal.xxx:8280/irj/portal/index.html?navigationtarget=roles://portal_content/mycompany/application.iView
/WDApplication&NavMode=3). This method can fulfill user's requirement. However, we have to hardcode the Webdynpro ABAP application URL in the iView (e.g. http: //devep.xxx:8000/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/WDApplication). This will be a disadvantage because the URL will be http: //qasys.xxx in QA environment and http: //prodsys.xxx in production environment.
Can someone suggest a solution to me? We do not use NWBC. Thanks.

I think only after moving to PRD., the client will use the application rite.!! so u can directly give PRD url in ur iView.,
If it is in application ., we can get Host and Port., but we have to hardcode the url., So I am thinking better to give PRD Url in iView.

Webdynpro abap application attached to SWFVISU is tested from se80

when webdynpro ABAP application is attached to workitem in SWFVISU the the workitem id is passed via url when calling the application. (though the url seen in the application in se80 in the webdynrpo abap component does not have workitem id paramter)

I am running this application from se80 - application - right click - test. (this is required to troubleshoot one of the issues.)
at this time it does not ask for workitem id and directly runs the application . It picks the same workitem id everytime. I tried doing this with a couple of different user ids. but I cant figure out from where it picks this particular workitem id. the status of this workitem is complete in the system.

It is required to have a parameter WI_ID (as an Application parameter) in your WDA. And via this Application parameter WDA will receive the workitem id, when the task is exceuted from UWL (provided configuration is done in swfvisu)
Could you confirm, there is no Application parameter (WI_ID) in your WDA?
It picks the same workitem id everytime. I tried doing this with a couple of different user ids. but I cant figure out from where it picks this particular workitem id
If you defined WI_ID in Application parameter and there is an option to provide value and it seems, you have defined some value over there or other way might be in your method (inbound plug), you may gave default value to WI_ID in the parameter
If your application is working properly from UWL and for testing purpose, you could put a breakpoint and change the workitem id, when executing from se80

Webdynpro ABAP application on MSS Overview screen

We are having a customized Overview screen in MSS which is all Webdynpro Java application.I am trying to add Webdynpro ABAP custom application link on the overview page.I created a IVEW ,then PAGE, assigned to Workset and then to role .
Copied the PCD location and assigned in the Resources of Homepage framework.
When I do preview it is fine but when I run it through Overview..I am getting 404 page error.
Again its webdynpro ABAP application in the Overview page..What are the steps for it ..I created Area,Subarea ,Services and assigned Resources which has the PCD location with ROLES:// ...
Also in Services I mentioned it as WEBDYNPRO ABAP application.
Please suggest me ay steps I may be missing.

Issue on Creating RFx in webdynpro ABAP application - SRM Business Package

We are in to SRM 7.0 with the same version of Business Package in SAP Portal also.
I am trying to create a RFx from Portal which in turn calls the webdynpro ABAP application (Strategic Purchasing->Strategic Sourcing->Create Documents->RFx)
sap/bc/webdynpro/sapsrm/wda_l_fpm_oif.
This Application has some button called "Tech RFx", "Permissions" etc., When I click on those buttons it throws the error as below :
"There is no iView available for system "SAP_SRM": object "TechResp". For more information, contact your administrator."
Please let me know where we are missing. I have checked all the Portal permissions. Even I can able to access all other iviews except this two buttons.
Any settings or parameters required on webdynpro ABAP side.

Dear Raja,
this behavior occurs if the IView com.sap.pct.srm.gp.iv_tech_resp
is not assigned to the role which is assigned to the user.
Please assign this IView to the desired user.
Here are the steps to follow in your systems:
STEP 1: Login to the Portal with Content Admin Authorization.
STEP 2: Navigate to Portal Content -> Content Provided by SAP ->
specialist -> SRM7.0 -> Core -> Roles -> Open the desired role and
choose Navigation Folder.
STEP 3: Now navigate to Portal Content -> Content Provided by SAP ->
specialist -> SRM7.0 -> PPS -> iViews -> Tendering -> Select Tech
Responses (Technical name is iView com.sap.pct.srm.gp.iv_tech_resp) and
right click and choose 'Add iView to Role' -> Delta Link and save.
STEP 4: Log off and login with the user and check the issue.
