  • Is it possible to use an iTunes gift card to purchase in app items such as gems in knights and dragons?

I'm curious if it possible to use iTunes gift cards to purchase in application items such as gems on knights and dragons and if so how?

    Hello Rhicks636,
Thanks for the question. The following resource may provide an answer to your question:
App Store Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2001
    Accepted payment types
Shopping the App Store requires an iTunes Store account. When you create an iTunes Store account, you must provide a payment method for your purchase. The available payment methods vary by country, but typically you can use credit cards, gift cards, store credit, or PayPal.
In countries where the iTunes Store only sells applications, the accepted payment methods are Visa, MasterCard, and American Express. Other payment types such as gift cards, store credit, monthly allowances, and PayPal are not accepted. Depending on your App Store country, prices are listed in either US Dollars or Euros.
With the above information kept in mind, if you have a gift card balance on your Account, the purchased content (in this case, and in-app purchase) will be debited from the balance.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

The old rule of thumb was to keep 10-12 GB free. Any lower than that and you will start to have trouble. I was very close to that for a long time and never had any complaints. Now, Lion "encourages" 20% free space (on my newer 250 GB drive) so I try to keep it with more than 50 GB free.
Do you still have the original memory in that machine too? The metal plate you have to remove in the battery compartment also provides access to the RAM. Your machine will take 2 GB of RAM, possibly 3. You definitely want to max that out too.
Regardless, you definitely need a new hard drive. When Apple switched to PC components, they had to take a quality hit. These 2.5" notebook hard drives are not very reliable. I'm surprised your hard drive hasn't died by now. I usually get a new hard drive with every major OS upgrade. A $ 50 investment every couple of years is no big deal.
Unfortunately, you (and I) suffer from being an early adopter in 2006. Those 32-bit machines only accept 2 GB RAM (maybe 3) and are only 32-bit so they can't be upgraded to Lion. Because of this limitation, you won't see as dramatic an improvement as you would with a 2007 machine. If you run more than a couple of applications, your hard drive is always going to have to be doing some VM work. My 2006 machine has even lost its bluetooth. I gave it to my brother. My very similar 2007 Macbook is still running great.
So, you must get a new hard drive because your old one is likely on death's door. If you don't have at least 2 GB - get it. If you can't afford a new machine, you might want to consider an SSD. That might help mitigate your RAM limitations. You can spend from $ 100 to $ 350 and get a dramatic speed improvement.

  • Macbook Pro and Dragon Dictate 2.0

Anyone have Dragon Dictate 2.0 on their Macbook Pro? I'd like Dragon Dictate 2.0 but not sure if my computer would handle it without freezing up or even run it at all. I don't have Snow Leopard but the system requirements don't say I need it (although I have seen reviewers state you do need it).
I have Macbook Pro with Mac OS X 10.5.8 and...
    Model Identifier: MacBookPro3,1
Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
    Processor Speed: 2.4 GHz
    Number Of Processors: 1
    Total Number Of Cores: 2
    L2 Cache: 4 MB
    Memory: 2 GB
    Bus Speed: 800 MHz
    Boot ROM Version: MBP31.0070.B07
    SMC Version (system): 1.16f11

    From the vendor's web site:

  • Microphone jack and Dragon Dictate

    Hello,
I occasionally use Dragon Dictate and yesterday I turned it on and it can't find the microphone.
When the mike is pluggrd into the USB adapter there is indication it is working but no indication that it works when plugged into the Audio line-in port.
Either way the dictation software no longer finds the mike.
    Thanks,
    Garrett

Then you must have a microphone that outputs line level. No Mac has had a true microphone input in many years.

  • OSX 10.8 and Dragon Dictate

    From JohnG49 (Sydney Australia)
I have upgraded to OSX 10.8 so that I could use Dragon Dictate 3 ($200.00 Australian) which is not supported on Snow Leopard.  BUT have discovered Mountain Lion has lost expose and spaces which I use(d) all the time for report writing.
Does anyone have a work around to get expose and spaces onto Mountain Lion, so far it looks like Snow Leopard was the better OS for work.
    Regards
    JohnG49

A lot of people complain about the same feature. You can't recover Spaces and Exposé as they were in Snow Leopard because Mission Control has replaced them > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4689?viewlocale=en_US
However, you can modify some settings to make Mission Control more similar to Exposé (unfortunately, you can't modify Spaces). For example, if you want that windows show in Mission Control in the same way as they did in Snow Leopard, open System Preferences > Mission Control, and untick "Group windows by application"

  • App Volumes and Dragon Dictation

I work at a hospital, and some doctors need Dragon to dictate notes.  ThinApp was a failure.  I did get this working with Unidesk, but we own App Volumes so I'd like to use it.  In my testing we can install it, and it runs, but it keeps wanting to run the Audio Setup Wizard every time the user logs in to View (we refresh desktops).  Has anyone out there had a successful deployment of Dragon with App Volumes?

Immidio is a profile management system, sort of like AppSense Personalisation. It only records information that would normally be written into the roaming profile but instead records it when using an application (roughly though, not an expert on Immidio).
My thoughts will be that Immido will not be sold as a stand alone product but either be integrated into the writable volume option of AppVolumes. My guess would be that it is rather easy to install Dragon into an appstack (just the base application), the trick will be how to set license information (single user licensed, isn't it?) and user configuration. This part i guess could be handled by Immidio but as said, my bet would be on Appvolumes Writable volumes Profile option.

  • N570GTX Twin Frozr II OC and Dragon Age 2 (driver has been recovered).

    Hello,
Just got the beauty about a week ago and while the card runs quiet and cold I'm having problems while playing Dragon Age 2.
Once every so often, the image will freeze and I can see "Drivers has been recovered" message popping from system tray. The first thought that crossed my mind is that core voltage might be insufficient for factory OC (786/2100), so I dropped to 760/2000 using Afterburner and it went fine for couple of days without any issues through several long play sessions 5-6 hours each. I decided to play it safe from this point on and dropped to default GTX570 frequencies of 732/2000 (just in case) and played it like this for 2 more days without a single issue, but last night it happened again on stock frequencies now... It only happens in DX11 mode, DX9 mode is very stable, but doesn't look too good. It will still lock in DX11 with any combination of following High/Very High settings, with/without HQ textures, with/without any SSAO, HQ Blur.
I don't have any issues with factory OC in any other game (Dragon Age 2 is the only DX11 game I have so far though), played plenty of Crisis and stressed the card for several hours in 3d mark 11 loop mode on extreme settings, that provided close to 100% GPU load and had no problems whatsoever.
Is it the common issue or it's just me being unlucky? I weren't much into MSI products before, but the first image of cooling system of Twin Frozr cooling system made want to try it. Now I'm questioning MSI quality control as result...
I know Dragon Age 2 is quite buggy still and a lot of people having difficulties running it, but the fact that the core frequency affects my stability make me think I should ramp up core voltage a bit. So the question is, is it worth putting core voltage to something like 1.0v, will it void my guarantee, can it lead to VRM damage (a lot of 570 are dying because of it, but mostly when going over 1.1v). Any other options I might consider?
Running Forceware 267.24 beta drivers that promise better compatibility with Dragon Age 2.
    Thank you in advance.

This sounds like a driver problem for the GPU, Are you using the supplied driver from the install disk? or are you using the driver from windows update? I would try the latest beta driver from nvidia and see if that resolves your problem. Use driver sweeper in safe mode to uninstall the bits of the old driver before installing the new one.
