PVDM + Bri Dialin problem

Hi everybody, i configured a c2811 with 2 bri and a pvdm module to accept incoming data connection via modem. Everything is ok except that after user is authenticated suddenly router disconnects connections with irregular time; it could be 2 mins, 5 mins etc... Anyone has an idea about? What it could be? Or if you see something wrong in configuration.
Thanks in advance, Fabio.

Please configure network-clock-select 1 bri 0/0/0 and network-clock-select 1 bri 0/0/1.
Hope this helps, please rate post if it does!

  • Dialin Problem

I'm having a problem with PPP dropping connection. I have Solaris8 - (Intel) Everything is going fine then all of a sudden I get this "process_ipd_msg: interface ipdptp0 reports an error " message in the logs and it drops the line and reconnects. (I've included part of the log below)
This problem has been giving me problems for days. I've tried everything I can think of... Anyone have any ideas what is going on here or how I can fix it? How do I find where this "reports an error" is coming from? (ie what the error is)
    Any help please.
    Thanks,
    Michael

    Hi,
On a similar occassion wherein I was trying to get Aux Port configured for Remote Dialin (for exec access and not for data) I tried almost 4 USR modems and everytime all the modems would get stuck at the handshake and never be able to complete the process.
However when I changed the modem to a simple make and model, it did work!
I guess its a problem with USR, have you ever tried with some other brand?
    Kind Regards,

  • Modem dialin problem

    Hi,
Hope you can help me with this, Im stuck.
I have a 2500 router with several external modems (US Robotics 56k) connected over asynch cables. the line config is setup to autocommand telnet to a backend server.
When I attempt to dial in, whichever modem answers, it seems to pick up the call, but then it drops almost immediately. The router log shows the same debug message each time:

    Hi Bris,
The problem is that the MyProducer.jsp cannot be found (this has absolutely nothing to do with EPCF). Probably you have put it into the wrong path: "This path is relative to the private resources (in PORTAL-INF in PAR) of the portal application", see http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp2004/helpdata/en/16/d12c413894f823e10000000a155106/frameset.htm
I.e., if you have put it under .../PORTAL-INF/pagelet/MyProducer.jsp, the corresponding portalapp.xml entry must read:
    <property name="JSP" value="pagelet/MyProducer.jsp"/>
    Hope it helps

  • BRI problems / layer 1 deactivated

    Hi there
I could really use some help for this issue. I need to implement a BRI line for voice as backup for a SIP line.
However I cannot make layer 1 come up as active. I know for sure the line is working as attaching a phone to the ISDN2 line makes me able to receive and make calls. So the line is ok from teleprovider side. Must be cable issue, makes a cable according to Cisco doc. "When the ISDN BRI port on the router is configured as an NT port, you must use a "rolled" cable (one with the transmit and receive leads swapped) to connect to a TE interface." But this does not help me still same outcome.
    Any help is much appriciated.

I had this problem a few months ago and it took several days of investigation and research to figure it out but I got there in the end.  Hopefully this will save someone else a lot of frustration!
In short it was mainly sorted by adding the bearer-cap Speech command to my extra voice-ports.
This command specifies whether the 'call' will initialize for voice or data during the setup and can cause the line to drop/disconnect if it is set incorrectly.

My client was using a UC540W-BRI-K9 with 2 phone lines coming in over a single ISDN device connected to a voice-port.  They had purchased a plug-in 2-port voice-board to allow them to utilize another 4 phone lines via an extra 2 ISDN devices, however the company who installed this had failed to configure the system properly so even after I activated the extra lines they would always fail to dial-out as above.
The first step was to tell the plug-in voice-board to use the network-clock and set the ISDN-connected BRIs to use the network-clock:
    network-clock-participate wic 1
    network-clock-participate wic 2
    network-clock-select 1 BRI0/1/0
    network-clock-select 2 BRI0/1/1
    network-clock-select 3 BRI0/2/0
I spent time investigating the BRI configuration, adding a few bits which I think helped activate the lines, although I still had the outgoing call failures on the new lines:
    interface BRI0/1/0
     no ip address
isdn switch-type basic-net3          <--- Copied this command to the other BRIs
isdn tei-negotiation first-call   <--- Added this to all the BRIs
     isdn point-to-point-setup
     isdn incoming-voice voice
     isdn sending-complete
isdn static-tei 0                          <--- Added this to all the BRIs
trunk-group ALL_BRI 64                <--- Copied this command to the other BRIs
I then found the voice-ports had a separate configuration independent of the BRIs and the newly connected voice-ports required a couple of commands to be copied from the original, working voice-port.  The problem was fixed once I applied the bearer-cap Speech command to the extra voice-ports, along with compand-type a-law (for a European system).
voice-port 0/1/0          <--- The original voice-port connected to the primary ISDN
     compand-type a-law        <--- Copied to the newly-connected voice-ports
     bearer-cap Speech         <--- Copied to the newly-connected voice-ports
    voice-port 0/1/1            <--- Connected to 2nd ISDN
     compand-type a-law
     bearer-cap Speech
    voice-port 0/2/0            <--- Connected to 3rd ISDN
     compand-type a-law
     bearer-cap Speech
    voice-port 0/2/1            <--- Unused
The compand-type command is used to convert signals from analog to digital and is normally compand-type u-law for North America systems and compand-type a-law for European systems, as explained here:

  • Problem connecting isdn bri voice interface to pstn

i'm trying to configure my ISDN BRI NT/TE voice interface card (VIC-2BRI-NT/TE) on router 3825 to link to my PSTN provider. This must allow my Cisco IP phones to pass call to the PSTN through my call manager 4.1.
I suscribe to two isdn line. The provider told me that the SWITCH TYPE is VN6 (COTE d'IVOIRE or Ivory Coast).
For my bri configuration, see file "interfaces configuration..."
My problem is that when i pass call from my Ip telephony network, the first call goes well. But after this first call, when i type the command isdn status, i can see that the layer 1 of my isdn interfaces are DEACTIVATED, and after a few minutes, it turn back to ACTIVE. During these minuite, i can't pass any call through my isdn interface.
for outputs of show isdn status command, and isdn debug q931 commands
see file "show isdn status and debug..."
Notice: when the status of the isdn layer is in the deactvated status, i can receive call from the pstn, but i can't passe call to pstn (the state changes to ACTIVE when incomming call from pstn arrive, but still stay DEACTIVATED when outgoing call is initiated)
    Please help me

I've entered the "isdn transition-delay 1" interface command and things seem to work well.According to the IOS help on my router, this command clears the ISDN D-CHANNEL after a delay of 1 second.
But i would like to get more information on this command, and also on the isdn layer 2 and 3 timers, and even possible on all the "isdn" interface command option.
    THANKS

Although you may manually configure dial peers to work with the MLPP for Analog and BRI Endpoints on Cisco IOS Voice Gateways feature, we recommend that you use Cisco CallManager autoconfiguration. Refer URL

  • Problem with unicast videostream using ISDN BRI between 2 876 routers

    Hello,
I have two 876 routers with the proper IOS. I configured the ISDN line. It's working fine. Pinging and telnetting vice versa.
On one end there is a videocamera with the encoder (Bosch) connected to the Vlan-side of one router. On the other side of the ISDN line there is a decoder (with monitor) connected to the VLAN side of the outher router.
The encoder is configured to send a videostream to the (ip-address) of the decoder, unicast and 64Kb.
The problem is that the decoder doesn't seem to pickup the MPEG4 video-stream I
t does see the video stream( it shows a jpeg-snapshot which refreshes after several seconds).
Has anyone any idea what the problem could be?
    Help appreciated.
    With regards,
    Jaap Laaij

    Hi P?,
Yes i do see an increase in packet counters.
What did suprise me today when I changed the network setting, both on encoder an decoder, from udp to HTTP (80). On the monitor the MPG4 stream appeared !?!?!
Although delighted, I don't see why UDP is not recognized by the encoder.
Or, am I fooled by the counters and is the rise of counters due to other traffic and UDP is not let through and HTTP (80) is.
Is it possible UDP goes for another subnet than I put in a static route for and therefore doesn't cross over?
If I seem confused, than your right :( :)
    Any thoughts?
    Thanx
    Jaap

  • 4FXS-DID configuration problem using BRI to receive/send calls from/to PSTN

    Hi to all.
Follow is the partial configuration of my CME.
It has a 4FXS card to use analog phones and faxes, and 4 ISDN Basic Rate interfaces.
On each port of the 4FXS DID card happens the following:
    If I enable direct-inward-dial
I can receive calls from PSTN.
Off hooking the analog phone I cannot hear any free line tone. I cannot make any call from that phone.
    If I disable direct-inward-dial
I cannot receive directly calls form PSTN.
Callers on PSTN after typing my number, they hear a free tone. Then just typing the extension desired the phone ring.
Off hooking the analog phone I hear a free line tone. I can make normal calls to everyone.
I have half the configuration working.
    Where am I wrong?
    I really appreciate your help.
    Thanks to all.

    Hi Paolo.
Sorry for the delay. I was on holiday.
I would like to keep separate incoming calls from outgoing calls.
So I decided to keep two dial peers for every BRI interface.
I followed your suggestion on eliminate commands:
    "incoming called-number" on FXSs,
    various "progress_ind" on BRIs
Also I eliminated  "direct-inward-dial" on FXSs,
Today I reconfigured and right tested the dial peers as following:
    !   Bri Interfaces
    dial-peer voice 1001 pots
description **Sends call to PSTN line 1-2**
    destination-pattern 0T

  • Layer 2 BRI Problems

Hi, I have configured a VIC2-2BRI-NT/TE in a 2801 Voice Gateway (IOS 12.4(11)T4) placed in Lisboa (the operator is TELEPAC), and I can't make inbound/outbound calls. The interface config is:

Hi, I don't know the lines features of de BRI. How can it influence in the configuration?
I have made the change in the interface (isdn static-tei 0), and now the layer 2 shows multiple_frame_established:
    Global ISDN Switchtype = basic-net3
    ISDN BRI0/2/0 interface
    dsl 4, interface ISDN Switchtype = basic-net3
    Layer 1 Status:

    Layer 3 Status:
    0 Active Layer 3 Call(s)
    Active dsl 4 CCBs = 0
    The Free Channel Mask: 0x80000003
But when I do a call I can hear a very noisely voice (I think it is an autoattendand console, but I can not understand anything). This is the output of the 'debug isdn q931' command:

When the call is connected, the telnet window to the router stops working, and when the call is finished it works again. How can I solve that?

  • C40 isdn Bri problem

    Hi all
Now my Cisco C40 use two BRI Europe isdn lines to connect the another site's tandbeg system.
The C40 can connected the remote site successful, but the remote site's screen is so small.
    is there anyone konw it?

Note: Your question would be better placed in the TelePresence section of the forums where these devices are more actively discussed than in the Conferencing section you've posted in - I'd suggest you move your discussion via the Edit button at the top of the page.
Can you please describe a bit more what you mean by the "screen is so small".  The fact that you are using ISDN should have no impact on how the screen displays.
Can you also provide more information on how your C40 is configured - ie, what is the output device, what resolution is it set to on the C40, are you specifying a non-default layout?  Is the other end presenting and hence you're seeing a presentation layout?
    Wayne

  • Problem whit cisco 2921 + EVM-HD-8FXS/DID whit CUCM

    Hello everyone.
I have the following problem that I am not able to resolve. I define a new connection BRI.
I can make calls seamlessly between the Cisco Unified Communications Manager (version: 8.5.1.10000-26) and Cisco 2921 (CISCO2921-V/K9).
But when you receive calls from BRI Cisco receives the call but the Cisco Unified Communications Manager does not tranfere for Ext
And I can not understand why. In other BRI interfaces do not have this problem.
This configuration here that I'm using.

  • VIC2-2FXS problems

    Hi,
we have ISR 2801 router with 2xVIC2-2BRI-NT/TE, 1xVIC2-2FXS and PVDM2-8, IOS ver.c2801-spservicesk9-mz.124-9.T7.bin. We can see ISDN BRI ports but cannot see FXS ports.
    Any help?
    here some outputs from router:
    sh ver.
Cisco 2801 (revision 7.0) with 235520K/26624K bytes of memory.
    Processor board ID FCZ121412Q8
    2 FastEthernet interfaces
    4 ISDN Basic Rate interfaces
    2 Voice FXS interfaces
    1 DSP, 4 Voice resources
DRAM configuration is 64 bits wide with parity disabled.
    191K bytes of NVRAM.
126976K bytes of ATA CompactFlash (Read/Write)

    0/1/1 1 bri-voice up dorm none none y
    0/1/1 2 bri-voice up dorm none none y

I found out a solution. The problem is generated by insufficient DSP resources (PVDM2-8, I need more...).I had rearranged the position of the card and of course I've lost one ISDN BRI port. The result is as follow:
    sh voice port summ
    IN OUT
PORT CH SIG-TYPE ADMIN OPER STATUS STATUS EC
    ============== == ============ ===== ==== ======== ======== ==
    0/0/0 1 bri-voice up dorm none none y
    0/0/0 2 bri-voice up dorm none none y
    0/0/1 1 bri-voice up dorm none none y
    0/0/1 2 bri-voice up dorm none none y
    0/1/0 -- fxs-ls up dorm on-hook idle y
    0/1/1 -- fxs-ls up dorm on-hook idle y
    0/2/0 1 bri-voice up dorm none none y
    0/2/0 2 bri-voice up dorm none none y
    voice-port 0/0/0
    voice-port 0/0/1
    voice-port 0/1/0
    voice-port 0/1/1
    voice-port 0/2/0
I hope that this will help anyone with this situation.
