Pvii jazz pagepack question...

...playing around with the jazz pagepack, i notice that the
repeating
background image in navbar only appears across the
maincontent div in
firefox and chrome. in ie7, the space not used by menu items
is empty,
showing the main background colour? any clues?

  • PVII Image Gallery Question

    Hi,
Just purchased Image Gallery Magic. Since it's overwhelmingly
praised on this forum, I am hoping someone here can quickly help me
with a couple problems. First - here's the link:
    www.intelligentbydesigngraphics.com/transcendingtime/weddings.html
    Questions:
    1) I've inserted the gallery into an existing site that has a
black background. There must be a way to change the background
color of the thumbnail panel to something other than white, but
    how?
    2) As you roll your mouse over the thumbnail panel number
boxes they get smaller, why and how do I fix it?
Thanks in advance for any advice!
P.S. I am a novice, so please take that into consideration
    before replying! ;)

Can you post this on the PVII support forums?

Please note - no page titles, and no meta descriptions, yet.
    Also note - I
am aware of the sensitivity of the tab names to font sizing.
Several things I am particularly interested in - can anyone
    tell me the
    following?
    1. Why am I seeing a horizontal scrollbar on the FAQ page in
    IE6 ONLY? (I
see no such on any other PC browser, Safari/FF on the Mac, or
    Konqueror)
    2. Do any of you see 'float drop' on the subscription page
    for the form?
    Thanks for looking!

  • I have a question about iMovie?

I have a quick question about Imovie and I hope someone can please please please give me an answer, I want to hear lol. Is there any way i can get more transitions or titles on Imovie? or would I need to invest in photoshop or something that would give me more of a variety, because I use power point sometimes to jazz up my videos; but I can't convert powerpoint transitions into Imovie. so thats why i am curious. I look on youtube and some of these people transitions and stuff is a little more advanced than what imovie have so i am sure theres something out there. I just dont know what.
Please help. Thank You in advance.

You can add transitions using iMovie > iMovie '11: Add transitions between video clips

  • Two questions: editing info and capacity info

    I have two questions:
    1) I edited some artist/album info, but after synching it with my classic (80gb) the info hadn't changed on the Ipod. It did on Itunes, but not the Ipod. Any thoughts?
    2) As I put more music on my Ipod it increased the number of songs and the approximate # of days that this represented at the bottom of the Itunes screen. But then the days changed dramatically (and inaccurately) and now I have about 2500 songs, but it says that represents 250 days of music, which clearly isn't right. Any ideas on fixing this?
    Thanks

Thank you for answering the first question - it worked!!!
As far as the other question,
When I create a playlist, for example, Jazz Tunes...and then I create another playlist titled Sarah McLachlan, etc., etc.,
I will eventually have a list of playlists that are titled either as a specific artist or genre. And so, when I look to do a search on genres...I have to also look over the artists, making it confusing... Is there a way to seperate the two? Still not making sense? : /

  • PVII accordion panel

I have posted this question in the PVII forum but not received a reply as yet, hopefully someone here can help.
    http://www.mariagrist.net/dev/pardoe/opalandbeyond.html
I have put some markup (span styles) within the header bar of APM on this page. It works just fine. However it breaks the extension in that I have to remove all of these markups before I am able to access the extension interface from within Dreamweaver, in order to add new headings.
Is there a better way to add markup within the header bar? Is this even possible without breaking the extension?
    Thanks!

  • Beginer in css, hope you can understand my questions..... mayday

    Hi
I am not at all a pro in creating web pages, but have got by
most the time... i'd like to update our intranet site as its roten,
using the default options in dreamweaver.
When selecting a new file, then Page design CSS and with a
    menu on the left.
I'd now like to modifiy a link in the menu on the left, and
for it to open in the main frame... but i have no idea how css
works... so i'm lost... i used to have to create frames, that was
easier for me... but it seems css doesn't need frames.
    so my QUESTION is :
When i add my hyperlink in the menu, how can the page display
itself in the main section of the site. keeping the top, left, and
    bottom intact....
THANKS A LOT for any help in advance
in case my msn is [email protected]

Yes. I do this because a) I have taken the time to look at
    the layouts and
how they are done, and deemed them substandard, and b) I have
    seen the
number of beginners who use them thinking exactly what you do
    (in the

    frustration. It's

If your pages are well built, your graphics are cached, then
    you will not
even be aware that the entire page is redrawing as you link
    from one page to
the next. It will happen faster than you can detect.

I'm more than happy to try to help you, and that's why I
    suggested that you
give the DW layouts a 'thanks but no thanks'. If you want a
    good layout,
start here and see what you can find -

  • Newbie question on ActiveX

    Hi,
I am new to web design and have alot to learn, which may be
obvious by my phrasing of terms in my questions.
My question has to do with ActiveX in IE. Is it possible to
make a drop down navigational menu in Fireworks8, put it into
Dreamweaver8, and not have it trigger the ActiveX control on a
client's browser when they are using IE? Is there a code that I can
add to the javascript that can bypass this trigger? It seems even
the 'starter sites' in DW8 will activate the ActiveX in IE.
    Thank you,
    -Tony

It will never trigger that alert when browsed from the web -
    only when
    previewed locally.
    http://www.projectseven.com/support/answers.asp?id=153
And you wouldn't want to use the FW menus or FW HTML, anyhow.
    There are
    much better methods -
Check the uberlink and MacFly tutorials at PVII -
    http://www.projectseven.com/
and the Navbar tutorial/articles at Thierry's place
    http://tjkdesign.com/articles/dropdown/

As you described I went to Settings>Display Settings and the same four "old fonts" were still the only Fonts  there.  BTW, they were:  Default Font, Choco cooky, Cool jazz, and Rosemary.  NO Vector Fonts.
Thanks anyway for trying and I am happy to report that it's not the "end-of the-world" because they are not there!  If you ever hear anything more regarding Vector Fonts please let me know.

PS,  Re your question, both my i510 Charge phone and my Wife's have been running very well...thank you.

  • A developer question from a newbie

    hi there!
i'm trying to improve my geek skills and could use some direction from smart people like yourselves.
all i know is some very basic html and photoshop that i learned 10yrs ago.  think of me as a young grandma in terms of ability.
my goal is to be able to create my own website from scratch, or heck, even jazz up my posterous/ tumblr blogs.  i know, how lame/ quaint.  but we all start somewhere.
    so, question: where to start?
i've been thrown all these acronyms, php, mysql, css, javascript -- and then html5 and css3!  me no understand!
my computer genius brother tells me that i should learn the basics before learning dreamweaver...but i haven't a clue what that means.  do i take a css class?  an html5 class?
i'm in nyc and would ideally not like to spend a fortune on a class.  i also do want an instructed class b/c i'm definitely one of those obnoxious kids that asks a bazillion questions to clarify.  and bonus points if it's an intensive class b/c i'm impatient.  wah wah.
    many thanks,
    steph

You have plenty of resourced available to you on line, without paying a penny.  I guess though, it depends how quickly you want to get going and how best you learn.
If you search this forum there will be heaps of suggested links to help you brush up on the grand themes, specific techniquies and of course, Dreamweaver.  In my mind the areas that you mention are all important, interelated but quite distinct.  HTML and CSS are the building blocks of any web page, PHP/MySql are about building dynamic sites and Javascript helps add functionality and whistles and bells to the design.  You can certainly get going with HTML and CSS and then add some of the other stuff without really knowing that much about them.
A good place to start is http://www.w3schools.com/

  • Question to all: Using Templates?

    Guys/Gals
In the past, I have purchased templates online on sites such
templatemonster.com. They are Photoshop document that you slice and
    import in DW. Pretty easy.
To your knowledge, are there any other sites selling
    templates that are pretty good?
Which one do you go to when you purchase your templates?

Those are far from "pretty good". I wouldn't touch template
    monster with a
    10 foot pole.
    > Which one do you go to when you purchase your templates?
    I usually don't, but when I do, I use a DW-specific and very
    excellent
    PagePack from PVII -

  • Question for Murray

    Hi Murray,
First off I apologize if I am not supposed to direct a
question to an individual person. I see you point people to the
project 7 software when they ask about menus. I bought three
programs from them. One that I bought it called menu magic 2. Are
you familiar with this software? I am unable to get an answer from
them with a question. For the life of me I can't figure out how to
change the name of the buttons or enter a link location. Would you
    know how to do that?
    Thanks.

Al, are you using chicagowebs? experiencing similar issues.
