Pw for messaging server o9iASwireless 2

I'm using o9iASwireless 2 beta4.
I have configured the following instance:
System Manager > Wireless Server > Messaging Server > messagingservertest
Now I have to insert a password and a username for the Pushdrive instance:
System Manager > Wireless Server > Messaging Server > messagingservertest > Driver Instances > PushDriver Instance
Can anyone tell me the default password for the messaging server at the following adress:
http://messenger.oracle.com/push/webservices
There are two messages in the queue but they couldn't be send. My log shows the following error:
11/23/02 12:09:49 PM ERROR : [Thread-12] messaging.transport.driver.push.PushDriver.init(PushDriver.java:108)
User name missing.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Thomas

It's working now. Thank you very much (also for the link). So I assume that the limited amount of messages will count for all the different types (email, fax, sms, WAP push etc.). To my opinion, messaging (and pushing information in general) could add a lot of surplus value to wireless services. So let's work on the development of killer apps now ;-)

STATUS_MAIL_RECEIVE_TIME (Integer) : Specifies, in minutes, how long to wait to receive the SMTP response to a sent MAIL FROM command. Can I set up mutiple instance of messaging server in
one physical server ? The purpose is to separate
domain to use difference resource, configuration. Now
we use JES verion 6.While I don't know if it supported(I think it wasn't but we needed to make it work while JES is still in transition about HA strategy), I did an installation of 3 JES2004Q2 messaging instances on 3 different hosts that were all in the same Veritas Cluster. With this configuration, we were able to have any messaging instance run on any host in the cluster (and could shift them so all 3 instances were running on a single host without problem, which we did several times)
Each host had a SAN partition mounted as
    /usr/iplanet-$host
    such as
    /usr/iplanet-host1
    /usr/iplanet-host2
these partitions were able to be moved between hosts as needed by the cluster software.
On each host, I made sure it had the SAN mount in place, then installed messaging as:
    /usr/iplanet-$host/msg61
    (instead of /opt/SUNWmsgsrv)
    and when I ran /usr/iplanet-$host/msg61/sbin/configure
I said that the data directory should be:
    /usr/iplanet-$host/msg61/msg-$host
I installed the admin server as:
    /usr/iplanet-$host/admin5
On each of the messaging instances, I ran the ha_ipconfig script to lock down the IP address that the server processes bound to (and also had to lock down the ens daemon using a separate configutil variable, it still listened on the wildcard address).
When I was configuring the admin servers, I made each instance's run on a seperate port number so I didn't need to worry about locking down the IP. We also had to make a slightly customized version of the VCS agent that Sun supplies to work with the model we decided on.
There are still some issues, such as with performing patches. To patch an instance, you would need to make sure it is running on the host that it was originally installed on. If you only have a single host, I don't think the technique I used would work for you (unless you are able to use Solaris 10 beta and the zones functionality, and I am not sure if the JES packages play well with it yet)

  • FPN configured for message server port

    Hello,
I would like to configure my Consumer Portal to connect to my Producer on port :8101 (the default message server port of the Producer).  However, each time I try with this conifguration FPN breaks and nothing works - can't browse the PCD or see remote roles via Identity Management (when I switch the config back to point to port :50000 in the Producer object on the Consumer it works fine again).  I'm not using a SAP web dispatcher between the two portals but Producer portal is indeed listening on port :8101 since I can hit it directly.  Is this a limitation of FPN?
My http trace shows an ABORT message when trying to connect with the :8101 configuration.
The 8101 port is necessary to be configured in order to leverage our clustered load balanced environment which has the 8101 message server port listening and redirecting to a cluster of servers.
    Patrick

When using Remote Delta Links one can configure the SAP Message Server's RMI-P4 port (3901 by default) for RMI-P4 communication.
For the HTTP load balancing you cannot configure it to point to the HTTP port of SAP Message Server (8101 by default) only the application server's HTTP port on the Central Instance (e.g. 50000) can be used.
But don't bother yourselves with this, because SAP recommends using SAP Webdispatcher for HTTP load balancing in FPN scenario, so don't use SAP Message Server directly for HTTP load balancing in the FPN connection setup!

  • Anti-Virus Software for Messaging Server

I am new to Java System Messaging Server. I would like to know that what is the Anti-Virus Software that can be use with Java System Messaging Server. (Symantec is the one but I dont know about the other)
And I would like to ask that can I use NOD32 (ESET) with Messaging Server ?
    Thank you very much.

Ok. NOD32 runs as smtp filter. That's easy to configure with Messaging Server, using the 'aliasdetourhost" keyword.
In the comparison test they show on their website, I note that they don't compare against ClamAV. ClamAV has no license fees. It's open source. It runs on Linux and Solaris. I'd go there, first.
Since you're sensitive to costs, I'd suggest you have a look at running your system on Solaris X86. It's free, too.
Messaigng Server, SpamAssassin and ClamAV all work very well on Solaris.

  • User Access for Messaging Server and Calendar Server

This is the first time i have setup JES. What i did was install Messaging, Calendar, Directory and Administration server. I did a configure after install option and followed the post install instructions for all of those servers.
I then started the administration console and added a user via the crete user option under "users and groups". Next i tried to logon as the user i just created via webmail and pop (exchange) and get an error message stating that the user does not exist. I did a search on the user via that admin server console and i did find the user and the "mail account" option was selected. I also verified the password was correct.
My main question is what am i doing wrong?
My goal is to create a email and calndar server using JES. I also want webmail.
Do i need to configure Identity Manager to create users for mail / calendar? Or do i create the users using the directory server / administration console?
Also i didnt setup delegated administrator. I didnt think i needed it becasue i will configure all of this using on administrator. If i dont need multiple administrators do i need delegated admin.
    Here is some background information.
    Sun W2100Z
    4GB RAM
    Solaris 10 01/06 x86
    JES 2005 Q4
    Thanks for any assistance.

You can not use the Administration console for creating Messaging users. Look-up "provisioning users" in the Messaging admin guide. If you're using schema 1, use Delegated Administrator. If you're using schema 2, use commadmin.

  • Messaging Server and Calendar Server Mount points for SAN

    Hi! Jay,
We are planning to configure "JES 05Q4" Messaging and Calendar Servers on 2 v490 Servers running Solaris 9.0, Sun Cluster, Sun Volume Manager and UFS. The Servers will be connected to the SAN (EMC Symmetrix) for storage.
    I have the following questions:
    1. What are the SAN mount points to be setup for Messaging Server?
I was planning to have the following on SAN:
    - /opt/SUNWmsgsr
    - /var/opt/SUNWmsgsr
    - Sun Cluster (Global Devices)
Are there any other mount points that needs to be on SAN for Messaging to be configured on Sun Cluster?
    2. What are the SAN mount points to be setup for Calendar Server?
I was planning to have the following on SAN:
    - /opt/SUNWics5
    - /var/opt/SUNWics5
    - /etc/opt/SUNWics5
    3. What are the SAN mount points to be setup for Web Server (v 6.0) for Delegated Admin 1.2?
    - /opt/ES60 (Planned location for Web Server)
Delegated Admin will be installed under /opt/ES60/ida12
Directory server will be on its own cluster. Are there any other storage needs to be considered?
Also, Is there a good document that walks through step-by-step on how to install Messaging, Calendar and Web Server on 2 node Sun Cluster.
The installation document doesn't do a good job or atleast I am seeing a lot of gaps.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    There are basically two choices..
    a) Have local binaries in cluster nodes (e.g 2 nodes) ... which means there will be two sets of binaries, one on each node in your case.
Then when you configure the software ..you will have to point the data directory to a cluster filesystem which may not be neccasarily global. But this filsystem should be mountable on both nodes.
The advantage of this method is that ... during patching and similar system maintenance activities....the downtime is minimum...
The disadvantage is that you have to maintain two sets of binaries ..i.e patch twice.
The suggested filesystems can be e.g.
    /opt for local binaries
/SJE/SUNWmsgr for data (used during configure option)
This will mean installing the binaries twice...
    b) Having a single copy of binaries on clustered filesystem....
This was the norm in iMS5.2 era ...and Sun would recommend this...though I have seen type a) also for iMs 5.2
This means there should no configuration files in local fs. Everything related to iPlanet on clustered filesystem.
I have not come accross type b) post SUNONE i.e 6.x .....it seems 6.x has to keep some files on the local filesystem anyway..so b) is either not possible or needs some special configuration
so may be you should try a) ...
    The Sequence would be ..
After the cluster framework is ready:
    1) Insall the binaries on both side
2 ) Install agent on one side
    3) switch the filesytem resource on any node
    4) Configure the software with the clustered FS
    5) Switch the filesystem resource on the other node and useconfig of first node.
    Cheers--

  • IPlanet Messaging Server 5.2 (for Solaris 8 and 9) with patch 5.2hf2.13

    libimta.so 5.2 Patch 2 (built 19:30:12, Jul 14 2004)
I heard that SUN have released security vulnerability in Sun Java System or iPlanet Messaging Servers that may allow remote unprivileged users to craft specific messages which contain Javascript to be executed in the end user's browser.
The problem can be solved by using iPlanet Messaging Server 5.2 (for Solaris 8 and 9) with patch 5.2hf2.13 or later..
where can I download patch 5.2hf2.13 for messaging server 5.2 ?

    Hi,
If you have a support contract with SUN you can log a service request to get a copy of the patch via:

There is NO ONE messaging server configuration file.
The store configuration is read from the configuration ldap server on startup, and cached in temporary files, msg.cnf and local.cnf. Do not attempt to edit these files, as that won't work.
Use the configutil utility to see what the store configuratin is

  • Can MoveUser move a user's mailbox from an installation of Mail Server 2.X to Messaging Server 3.X?

Can MoveUser move a user's mailbox from an installation of Mail
Server 2.X to Messaging Server 3.X?
    <P>
    Yes.
The 2.x server allows the postmaster to login to a user's account.
    Try running MoveUser as follows:
    MoveUser -u uid -s host -xPostmaster:uid -p password
    -d desthost -a proxyuser -v proxypassword -m mailboxpath
    Notes:
Mail Server 2.x uses a local database and not an LDAP server
for account information. The -l option
specify ldap URL and the associated bindDN password,
therefore, are not valid when moving from
Mail Server 2.x to Messaging Server 3.x.
    "Postmaster:" is case sensitive.
The -a and -v options are for Messaging Server 3.x
    ProxyAuthUser credentials.
We do NOT allow this login to a 3.x server
    (use PROXYAUTH instead).

    Additionally
When I type in fasn26p (machine name) the Oracle Application Server Welcome page displays.
I can get to the Enterprise Manager via the link on the page.
On the All Programs menu, under Oracle - OraDb10g_home1 I can access the Datbase Control page and login. The line for Database Instance: Orcl is -
    http://fasn26p:1158/em/consol/database/instance/sitemap?event=doloa&....
One last thought. I installed this with this on my network at home and I now have it disconnected from the network. So no IP address for the adapter and I wonder if that can cause a problem with Apache?

  • System log error message when try to connect to message server

    Hello,
There is a syslog entry, " Q0X Connection to client C of msg server closed as time exceeded". Research on SAP suggested a old note 73936. I am trying to find the root cause and resuire some guidance. The entries in dev_ms file shows the message:
    ***LOG Q0X=> MsSConnCheck, timeout (CX) [msxxserv.c   8032]
    ERROR => No MS_LOGIN within 300 seconds [msxxserv.c   8039]
    ERROR => Close connection to CX (XXX.XXX.X.XX), [XXX.XXX.X.XX] [msxxserv.c   8042]
How to narrow down whether it is caused by an incorrect client program or network issue? the ip address displayed in error message in dev_ms file is not listedin /etc/hosts files. Will that be causing the issue. Any help would be appreciated?

    Hi,
That timeout message occurred due to inactivity from the client side. First you need to identify what application is connected to your message server. May be it's not a problem at all and this application just doing nothing and since message server is terminating a connection between them. Then, if you want to increase the time for message server to wait for activity from the application part, increase ms/conn_timeout parameter (set to 300s by default).

    Hi Denis,
The below is the Wiki which i have created, please go through the notes.
Configure SLD for JCo and Creation of JCo Destinations
To create JCo connections you need to configure SLD (System Landscape Directory) first and then create JCo destinations.
First let’s see as how to configure SLD.
    Start Visual Administrator.
    To start it
    1)     Go to Server Installed path i.e. usr\sap\<systemid>\<systeminstance>\J2ee\admin
    2)     Choose go.bat and start it.
    3)     Under Global Server Configuration, choose <Serverid>.
    4)     Choose Services under it.
    5)     Find SLD Data Supplier.
    6)     Under System Landscape Directory select HTTP Settings.
    7)     Give all the required fields like Host Name, Port Number, User Name and Password.
    8)     Similarly choose CIM Client Generation Settings and give Host Name, Port Number, User Name and Password.
    9)     You can test the SLD is configured properly or not. Just click CIM Client Test.
    10)     Save the settings and close Visual Administrator.
Now that you have configured SLD through Visual Administrator, we can create JCo Connections. To create JCo connections
    1)     You will need Super Administrator permissions to create JCo’s.
    2)     Log on to the Portal.
    3)     Go to Content Administration &#61664; Web Dynpro
    4)     Since we have configured SLD, now we can see a button to “Create JCo Destination”. Click it
    5)     Now you can observe Create new JCo Destination on right side panel.
    6)     Give the Following Details.
    a)     General Data:
Name: Give the name of JCo
Client: Give the Client number to which system you want to create JCo for. Click Next.
    b)     J2EE Cluster: Check the Use Local J2EE engine. Click Next.
    c)     Connection Type: Select Dictionary Meta Data. Click Next.
    d)     Application Server Connection: Select the existing Message Server and Logon Group.
It might sometimes happen that Message Server and Logon Group is not configured to configure them, follow the process
    For Message Server:
    i.     Log on to SDL through portal i.e. http://<servername>:<portnumber>/sld
ii.     Choose Technical System. Click it.
iii.     You will observe New Technical System button, click it.
iv.     System Type: Select Web AS ABAP , if you want to connect to R/3 System and incase you are using Java application use Web AS Java
    v.     General: Log on to R/3 System through SAP Log on pad. Go to System &#61664; Status, check for SID, Installation Number and Database Host Name.
vi.     Central Servers: Give Host Name and Port Number and Instance Number.
    For Logon Group:
    i.     Click on Add New Logon Group, this will open a row in the table.
ii.     Log on to R/3 through Logon pad and get Logon Groups ids and the transaction code is “SMLG”.
vii.     Application Servers: Click on Add Application Server and then give Host Name and Instance Number of R/3 System.
viii.     Clients: Give Client number (System id) and Logical Client Name (which we can get from SMLG code). And click finish.
    7)     Message Server Connection:
    i.     Name: Give the logon name of R/3 System
ii.     Password & Confirm Password: Give appropriate password of R/3 System.
    8)     Click Finish.
    regards
    Anil
