PWA 2013 - tasks.aspx - cannot enter actual work hours

In Project Server 2013, after assigning tasks to a project member, the member can log on to the PWA and see all tasks which has been assigned to him. But the member is not able to enter actual work hours, the corresponding fields are disabled.
Additional information: it's a project which has been migrated from PS2010 and the member I am talking about has the 'Administrator' role and the 'Team member' role

what type of project tracking was defined for project as?  If the project was done as "Percent of Work COmplete" and it was migrated.  It will maintain that Tracking Method.
Cheers!

The work center might start work from 10:05 and finished at 14:30 or any other case.
I need to deduct the break hrs & get the actual hr worked
Is there any function to calculate the actual work hours base on the daily work schedule & break schedule ?

    1) Is this working hours including the leaves ( emergency sick leaves, absences)
    2) how can i get this data in ECC in hours of actual working
Please give let me know if you any details on this

    HI GAJESH,
Actual working hours info is fed from many HR sources including attendances/absences/personnel work schedules/holiday calendars, etc. In BW system, actual working hours data is fetch using the function module HR_BIW_GET_DATA. Please examine this FM more closely.

  • Allowance calculation based on Planned & Actual working hours

    Hi,
Please advise how to calculate an allowance based on employees Planned working hours & Actual working hours for a particular work schedule rules.
Example A – Employee on Work Schedule for the Whole Month Employee has a 0007 infotype record that has them on Work Schedule SC112 for the whole of April 2008. System pays 100% of the allocated payment of $166.67 per month
Example B – Employee on Work Schedule for part of the Month, Employee has a 0007 infotype record that has them on Work Schedule SC112 for the part of April 2008 as they only started on 14th April 2008. Planned Hours for April for SC112 are 180 hours and this person has worked 108 hours which is 60% (=108/180). System should pay 60% of the allocated payment of $166.67 per month which results in a payment of $100.00 for the employee.
Your help would be really appreciated.

    Hi Manoj,
Suppose ABCD is the wagetype for xyz allowance. I hope you are getting this 1000 amount from T510.
This is the logic of PCR for your requirement.
    ABCD
      NUM=TKAU**        --> Getting Unpaid Absences (Suppose 2)
      RTE=KCONS2        --> Maintain CONS2 constant in T511K Table with 200
MULTI NRA            --> Multiplying No.of Absences with 200.. that is 400
ADDWT &BUFF     --> Saving that in one Variable
FILFF NRA            --> Restoring Actual values
AMT- &BUFF        --> Subtracting from 1000 and you will get the 600
      AMT?0
         ADDWT *
       <
AMT=0             --> if amount is less than 0 then amount will bocome 0
    Hope this helps.

  • Query: Cannot extract resource working hours&price at phase level together

    Dear PP Guru,
I am working on a query to satisfy business requirement: resource working hours - meaning "activity type quantity" (PLPO table field VGW01, 02, 03 ...) together with activity type price at phase level.
    I combined following tables together:
    PLPO --> CRCO --> CSSL --> COST
Now the issue is: resource hours - meaning "activity type quantity" at phase level cannot be extracted. The reason is that "Object ID" - PLPO table ARBID field is only assigned to Operation level, not Phase level.
    My question are:
    1. I have to go for ABAP development to do such modification to extract resource hours at phase level?
    2. What is the reason that "Object ID" is not assigned at phase level but operation level in PLPO table? Shall I raise a question to SAP to get further detail?
Many thanks in advance for your prompt feedback!

  • Inaccurate Actual Work hours in the Portfolio Analyzer Cube Report

I am trying to create a report that will show all resources and the status of their timesheets. For the sake of this picture I removed the project list and resource list from my pivot table. I am using the Portfolio Analyzer cube for creating this report.
My question is why when using Actual Work is it showing the same hours for timesheet status? I would think the columns would each have different hours based off which stage of the time approval process the resource was in.
    Thanks,
    B

No.  It is only showing hours from project status and not timesheets.  Timesheet is a completely separate bucket of time.
    Cheers!

  • Project Server 2013 Task Reassignment Privileges Off? (Works in Timesheet)

    Version: Project Server 2013
I'm trying to give our users access to reassign tasks.  I turned on "Reassign Task" on the Global Permissions and gave them security to "Assign Resource" on all their categories.
I've tested this, and the "Reassign" feature is available and working then they are on the "Timesheet" page, but it is grayed out and gives the message:
"This control is currently disabled.  You might not have the right permission level to use this, you might need to select an object or item, or the control might not work in this context."
Again, the same task is available to be reassigned in Timesheet though.
My guess is that this is a Security Permission issue, because my account which I am the Administrator and Owner of the project, I can reassign tasks on both pages.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Justin
    It's me

    Hi Justin,
Just for your information, as far as I know, the "assign resources" is not necessary for using the "reassign task" feature. The "reassign task" global permission is enough.
To be sure to understand your issue, the "reassign task" button is available for you as admin or project owner, but not for users which you granted the "reassign task" permission to? Am I right?
You are talking about global permissions but did you add the "reassign task" to the
groups permission the users belong to?
Silly question, but do the users have select a task before trying to reassign it?
    Hope this helps,

  • Need to Enter Real Subtask "Actual Work" and "Actual Finish"

I am creating a Project file by importing a CSV file.  I need to be able to import both the real Actual Work hours and the real Actual Finish dates contained in the CSV file.  Somehow Project ties these two together for finished Subtasks:
entering the Actual Work sets the Actual Finish.  And entering the Actual Finish clears the Actual Work.
Is there a sequence to enter those for a Subtask, and display what is in the CSV file, rather than what Project wants to compute?

    andyrice,
If you set the % Work Complete field to 100%, then the Actual Finish field should not be empty. Do you have automatic calculation turned off? Are you using manual scheduling mode?
For the test sequence I ran, my task type is Fixed Work. I set % Work Complete to 100%. At that point Project assumes the task finished as planned so it sets the Actual Finish date to be the Finish date and the Actual Work to equal the Work. Now you need
to adjust the work and finish date. If you simply change the value in the Actual Work field, Project will reset the % work complete if the actual work value does not equal the Work field (remember, task is fixed work). So to "replan" the task to what actually
happened, you must update the Work field with the actual work value. Finally, if the Actual Finish is not the Finish, then the Actual Finish date must be updated. Try that.
    Project's scheduling equation is:
    Duration = Work/Units.

  • Adding time phased actual work to fixed work task with finish no later than constraint

I am using MS Project Pro 2010, no service packs are installed. I have a 40 hour fixed work task, auto scheduling is on, and I've set a finish no later than constraint 4 weeks into the future. I have assigned a single resource with assignment units of 1.0
and Project correctly determines a 5 day duration and schedules the task from the start of the project with the task start date the same as project start date and 8 hrs per day.
I switch to task usage view with the time phased time scale set to weeks (middle) and days (bottom) and add the actual work field. Calculate on edit is selected in project options. When I add 8 hours to day one (which matches the planned work), the planned
work on the last day of the duration changes to 2 hours and the remaining 30 hours is spread at 10 hrs each to the three days in the middle and the duration changes to 4.2 days. Work stays the same as expected.
The behavior I expected is that after I add the 8 hours of actual work nothing would change since remaining work is 32 hours and there are 4 days left in the schedule and the work is already scheduled for 8 hrs/day. When I continue to add actual work of
8 hours to each day, the duration continues to go down until I’m adding 8 hours past the duration. What am I doing wrong? This behavior persists whether or not I select the "move unfinished parts…” options in the project options or not. The only way to
achieve the expected result is to remove the constraint, add the actual work and then reapply the constraint. I assume I have missed an option that needs to be correctly set to achieve the expected (and desired) result. Thanks.

Thanks, Julie.  I thought it was just me.  The reason for the FNLT constraint is that I'm not really scheduling projects but scheduling a single multi-unit resource in a shop environment where many projects are running through at the
same time.  I've set up a single resource with units equal to the number of shop personnel and I'm intentionally forcing overallocations (should there be any) by levelling and by not allowing Project to move my tasks any further than externally mandated
delivery dates.  From that, I can then see where I will need to alter shop release dates, allocate overtime, hire new workers or subcontract the work.  By entering actual work weekly, I can also see where I might have extra hours to use elsewhere
or vice versa.  Unfortunately, a deadline will not prevent Project from moving the tasks beyond the customer provided date when leveling.  This method worked fairly well in Project 2007 even though it's not really what the software was intended for.
I obviously only use a fraction of Project's capabilities.  There's probably better-suited tools out there but this is the one I have and it actually does a great job at it.  I'm sure I can still make it work in 2010 but it looks like I'll have to
modify my approach.  I'll leave the question open a while longer and see if I get any additional feedback.  If not, I'll mark it answered and move on.  Thanks, again.

  • Add a dropdown field to the task view that determines work hours for that task.

I'm very new to MSProject.  I'm entering project data for the design, review, implementation, testing and acceptance of many subroutines.  The subroutines can be categorized into an enumeration of types. 1 - direct sub , easy, 2 - direct sub,
average, 3 - direct sub complex, 4 - supervisory sub easy, 5 - supervisory sub average, 6 subervisory sub complex.
I would like to create a dropdown field that once the category has been selected, the work hours are locked.  For Example if I have 50 "direct sub, easy", I want to be able to change the work hours assocated with "direct sub, easy"
in only one place and have all "50 direct sub, easy" tasks automatically use the new work hours.
Is there a way to do this in MSProject?

    Denis,
Okay, let's revisit the approach. If you have six defined categories and you want to select from one of those categories for each task, then you need to create a custom field with a lookup table. Let's use the Text1 field.
    1. First add the Text1 field as a column in the view, I assume you're using the Gantt Chart view
    2. Select the heading of that column and go to: Project/Properties group/Custom Fields
    3. That will open the Custom Fields window with Text1 already pre-selected. Hit the "Lookup" button
    4. In the Edit Lookup Table window, enter each of your 6 categories. You can give each a number with a description (e.g. 1 - direct sub, easy), or just put the description in the Value field (e.g. direct sub, easy) with nothing in the description.
    5. Hit close
Now when you select the Text1 field for any task, the lookup list will appear allowing you to chose of the the entries. Now you can create a filter as I suggested before and go through the process of setting the work value for all like category tasks.
    Hope this helps.

  • Daily working Hours Calculation

    Dear All
Time Management - >Work Schedules->Set Work Schedule rules and work schedule
How to calculate the Daily working hours if my shift time is as given below
      Night  00:25 to  Morning 07:30
My break time is between 3:30 to 4:00
So my actual working hours is  6:35 hours (6 hrs and 35 min).
What i need to enter in the Daily working hours, whether 6.35 or 6.58 (0.25/15*35)?
    regards
    Suresh S

    Hi,
First create a break shedule from 3:30 to 4:00 AM and specify if paid or unpaid.
Use this break schedule while creating daily work schedule. Specify the timings of 0:25 as start in planned working time, the end time will be calculated automatically.
Use this DWS in your PWS which you in turn use while setting WSR as you stated above. The Daily Working time will be automatically taken from DWS. And I think it should be 6:35 hrs.
    cheers
    Ajay

Here 222,012 HR is the Rem.Cap.Requested hours.
From CMP3 Transaction, for a employee, I am booking 3 hours daily from 26.03.11 to 29.03.2011(total 12 hours). When I am again running CM50 Transaction, these 12 hours should also add in 222.012 Hours because it's already allocated and I must see - 234 Hours updated. But I am not able to see that. Am I running wrong transaction to review the updated data or am missing something else so that I will get updated Working Hours evaluation data, everytime I allocate hours to someone. Please let me know. Shall I see some other transaction?
    Thanks and Regards,

    Solved by myself.
In this case, planned working hours was not changing the reports data that I illustrated above. Actual Working hour was affecting the data.

  • Project Server and Project Pro 2013 - Tasks not allowing Uncomplete Work to be rescheduled

We are current;y running Project Server 2013 on Premise and using timesheets to update task status. We are using the proactive task scheduling to let the allocations, work and dependencies drive the schedule to get accurate project finish dates.
We have several projects that give an error stating "Change would modify work entered by a team member" and "We can't make that change because Project Web App is set to only allow actual work to be entered by a team member through Timesheets
or My Work" when setting the status date and Updating the Project and selecting reschedule Uncompleted Work to start after the status date. We have determined that usually it is only a single task causing the error. we have tried to remove the resource
when no actuals have been entered but we get the same issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Paul,
Looks like the settings "Only allow task updates via Tasks and Timesheets" has been enabled on your PWA (under Server Settings >> Task Settings and Display).
But the setting is used to prevent any updates to actual work from project pro, and will throw the error  you mention above, if a PM tries to update the actual work.
I am not sure why the "Rescheduling of uncompleted work" would thrw this error, but worth checking that setting.
