PwdLastSet timestamp changing with every "net user /domain" command.

For an account in active directory every time i run Net User command, it shows current date and time of my system although password was changed long ago. what is wrong with the account..?

Change Open Directory Home Users Directory Command Line

We have over 1,000 users in our first attempt at Open Directory. Right now they have all different home directories but we'd like to set them all to one location, the temp directory, it's for a student lab. What is the best way to programmatically run through every OD users, check their home directory setting, then change it?

As an additional comment:
I used the dscl -passwd CLI for over a year and it was effective. However, sometime around the update to 10.5.8 this command refused to work on my server and resulted in a dsLDAP error code. This happened even if run from a terminal window on the server. The OD master is still running strong without errors.
Thanks to Galen Sprague who posted an alternative, I switched to pwpolicy as in:
$ pwpolicy -a <LDAPadmin> -p <adminPW> -u <username> -setpassword <newpassword>
This seems to work consistently from a Ruby invocation and at the terminal.
The advantage is that an old password is not required only the new password.
The disadvantage is that a user could change his/her own password using dscl -passwd without requiring the adminUser authentication.

My graphical display of converted hexadecimal numbers changes with every run!

Dear all,
I've created a Vi that can select and convert hexadecimal numbers from a string array. These hexadecimal numbers contain acceleration data (units g).
My string array (from line 68+) places every 10 rows a 1 line of hexadecimal number with a length of 300. I've managed to convert this into 1D array DBL.
My current problem is, when I run my for loop my graphical representation of the acceleration data changes overtime!
Can anybody help me solve this problem?

I found a little dead time and decided to have a little fun cleaning up. Notice that I removed the FOR loops on the left side. The biggest thing was that I used the Read Text File configured to read lines (it gives me an array of the lines in the file), got rid of the first 68 lines, and then passed that array into the FOR loop. Your code there was next to impossible to figure out, even with the comment. I have no clue where you came up with trying to update every 25ms. It shouldn't take your processing that long. Instead, just index out the lines inside of the loop.
There's still a bunch of cleaning up to do, but it's quitting time for me. I'll try to get on sometime this weekend of you have more questions.

Cant use iMessage with Every iPhone Users

Hi, I just bought my iPhone 4s yesterday.
My iMessage works for some of my friends (iPhone 4/4s user) but not for everyone.
I was using iPhone 4 with IOS 5.1.1 previously and my iMessage is fine for everyone.
But now with this iPhone 4s, when I text my friends, some messages sent via iMessage while some as SMS.
May I know how to fix this? Thanks.

I changed my wheel group properties to no access at top disk level. I messed up, how can I change back in single user mode "command s" as I am now in Thailand and not able to access startup disks?

I messed up, I changed my "Wheel group" properties to No Access ( or something other than the default) at the top level of my startup disk "Macintosh HD".   Now my computer won't start up, I just get the spinning wheel of death.    I also am in Thailand right now, so I cannot go to a Genius at an apple store, nor do I have startup disks available.
So I was hoping there was a way to change back the properties of my disk (Volume) in single user mode (via Command +s) during startup, i.e. can I do a chmod command on the Macintosh HD listing under the Volume Directory.    Or where do i fix this?   Is it fixable without startup disks, etc...

Yes I changed the sharing "Wheel Group" permissions on my hard drive via Get Info.    But that's all I did.    And then most of the apps wouldn't respond with anything.    So not knowing I did something stupid, I decided to re-boot, and then nothing but the Wheel of Death at startup.
I was trying to limit access to my computer on this network, changed my public folder settings, and then I thought why not the whole hard drive, but at that time I had no idea what the "Wheel Group" was... so I shouldn't have touched it, BUT IT DID ...... argggggg....
I managed to go to an internet cafe & research the problem yesterday.    I used the command +s single mode to get in, and then did the necessary steps to mount the drive so I could make changes.   I basically did this:
Boot into single-user mode (boot while holding down CMD-S)
Follow the on-screen instructions to mount the file system as read-write (a fsck command followed by a mount command)
Type the following: "chmod o+r /" followed by "chmod o+x /"
Type "exit" to leave single user mode and complete the boot sequence.

It worked... thank God!!!   Well so far so good.
I was going to try my own fix by chmod on the Hard drive listed under Volumes directory, but that doesn't seem to match the info under Get Info Window.    So I just used the fix above.    I probably should now go and do "Disk Utility - repair permissions", however I am a little gun shy right now, so I will probably wait until I am back in the States so I can go to an Apple store if it messes up.   Right now I'm following the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" MOTTO...

Use CSV and batch file for net user command

I am trying to load domain user id's from a csv file and parse them through the net user /domain command. I would appreciate it if someone could help me open the csv file and store each line as a variable so that it could be parsed.

My apologies, I didn't notice that you specifically mentioned batch files in your question title.
I don't have much to offer, as my batch skills are extremely rusty.
I would personally be doing all of this via PowerShell, as the AD cmdlets can return any bit of information about your users that you'd like.

Cisco WLC Local Net user Authentication

Hi,
I have a Controller configured with local net users. Web policy with authentication has been configured for Layer 3 security. When the user tries to access the Wireless, they will be redirected to a web authentication screen, where they need to enter the pre-configured credentials to gain access.
Now, the requirement is: users shall have to provide login credentials only upon initial access (one time) and shall not have to accept an Acceptable Use Agreement when their systems connect to the wireless network. The next time user tries, they should be provided access automatically.
We have configured the following setting on Windows 7 client:
1. Connect automatically when the network is in range is selected
2. Please refer the attached screenshots for further configuration for Windows 7 Clients.
On WLC: SSID --> Advanced Options --> We have disabled the “Enable Session Timeout” setting, but we still have "Client Exclusion" Enabled.
When a computer is shutdown and brought back up within a few minutes the wireless credentials seem to stick, however, when the computer is shutdown for a period of overnight, the credentials are no longer cached and we have to re-authenticate to the wireless.
Is this issue because of "Client Exclusion" Enabled on the SSID/WLAN ?
If not, can someone share the complete procedure to make sure that users local net user credentials will be cache.

Well you only can keep it connected for an x number of minutes. You will not be able to set it longer than a day. This means, I can't configure the WLC/Client to cache the credentials permanently? And everyday, they have to enter the credentials to access SSID?You can extend it up to 30 days, but you have to run v7.5. After that, they will have to login again.Change the idle timer to about 2-4 hours and that should keep the client on the WLC DB. This will allow the client to go away for the number set and come back without having to login again. As you said, if I configure the WLC Idle Time for 2-4 hours, do the client have to provide credentials the next day when they access Wireless?Yes. See my previous answerIs there any other way via which this can be achieved? (The limitation is : client should be authenticated only with the WLC.)If you are looking for clients to login once and then never again, the answer is no. Homepageframework: Service-Links don't work with one particular user

when I'm logged in with my user, all the service links on overviewpages do not work. When I do a click on one of them, nothing happens. It works fine with every other user, who is logged in.
It must be a user-dependend problem. What's wrong with my user?

Hi,
In Portal there is a Group Administrators try assigning that to your user and see.
And Did you try assigning Everyone role to the user and see.
Try clearing the Browser cache and see and even that doesn't work try this option.
This might sound crazy: did you try to check in Another system with the user for whom it is not working? and if it works in other system sometimes there might be issue with User Local profile on the system that causes this kind of issue.
Recently we had similar issue, In others system I am able to login and it works fine just in my system it didn't work.

Photoshop CS5 building Histograms with every file change

I am working in Photoshop CS5 on a MacPro with Snow Leopard, 10.6.4. I have a file that is a little over a gigabyte open. Every time I make any changes to the file (i.e. select a different layers, grab the text tool, etc.) a menu pops up with a progress bar and says it is building the histgrams. This process happens with EVERY move. As you can imagine, this has slowed my productivity down to a crawl. Can I do anything to make it stop rebuilding the histograms at every step?

Hello,I am trying to connect to an MSSAS cube with a windows user ( and i need this user to be the end user that connect to the cube) from outside the domain.It will be .Net application.I use msmdpump.dll before but the thing is it impersonate the connection
so the user that connect to the Cube is not the real client user with is a problem for me because i like to manage the security throw roles.
SSRS is able to do what i am trying to achieve ( it ask you your domain user and password) then connect to the cube with these credential which is great,but i do that ?
With ADOMD.Net how do you provide windows user/password in the connection string ?
I tryed to only active windows security access with IIS and MSSAS but it's not working with a computer outside the domain even if in excel i provide a windows user/password.

In adition, please also try to use the following powershell commands to check if the assistant has right permissions:
Get-MailboxFolderPermission -Identity
CEO’s email address:\Calendar -User assistant’s email address
Also check with:
Get-Mailbox -Identity CEO’s mailbox
| fl *GrantSendOnBehalfTo

Ok geniuses, I have a problem that I am fairly certain is user error somehow.   I have an iPhone 4S.   I have a linksys router.   My wifi runs fine with every device in the house.   However, ONLY on my iPhone, it ALWAYS makes me put my password in.

We have another iPhone 4 in the house and it reconnects to the wifi just fine. The kindle, the laptop, the Xbox all reconnect fine. However, for some reason, my iPhone 4S makes me type in the wifi password multiple times a day.   It will connect and works fine while connected.   However, if I let it go to sleep, when I unlock the screen my wifi is "not connected".   I have to deselect the router and retype the password.   If something is using wifi like I heart radio or pandora or an update is downloading, it won't switch off the wifi, but in any other circumstance if the screen locks up and goes to sleep, when I unlock it I will need to reselect my network and retype the password. I have been dealing with this for months and have googled several times for a solution with no success. I'm pretty sure that when I was first setting up the wifi, I changed some setting on either the phone or the
router, but of course I can't figure out what I might have done. Please help!

I read the article thanks.   I tried the settings-general-reset-reset network settings-reboot system-go to wifi settings-select wireless connection-select the ">"-symbol-select auto for http proxy.   I was optimistic about that because I thought I changed some setting somehow to cause this problem, but it didn't work. More specifically, I did connect successfully and browsed the Internet for a good while, but then I put down the phone for a minute, the phone went into sleep/power save mode, and when I picked it back up a moment later it was no longer connected. Dang.   Had to select the connection and use my password yet again.
Another valuable bit of info for you.   The only network with which I have this problem is my home.   I use all kinds of devices at home and no other devices have this problem. Also, I use this iPhone all over with various wifi networks at hotels and starbucks and family's homes with no issues whatsoever. It remembers and automatically reconnects with every wireless network except the one in my own house.
