PXE works on Virtual Machines by errors on physical
2012R2. Only 1 box for all roles. PXE has been working fine (both Virtial and Physical). 3 weeks ago all PXE stopped working. I was called in to look things over. Errors showed that the MP was having issues, so I uninstalled
the role and reinstalled. Now only Virtual machines will PXE....physicals throw the following error:
Support for Unknown computers is selected. I've tried both known and right out of the box computers with the same results.
Ideas?

No difference in hardware...the sccm box is virtual. about 3 weeks ago customer says PXE stopped working. I got in and saw that the MP was corrupt, removed the role, reinstalled, now just virtual machine will PXE, but physical machine give
me the above error. The physical machines are from a batch of 15...they deployed the first ten before having the PXE issue...now we can't get any (including machines that we've PXE'd in the past too).

Don't know the reason for your crash, but I recommend you try a more recent version of JRockit as the first step. Download here:

Oracle XE on multiple virtual machines on the same physical machine?
hi,
does oracle's licensing for 11g express edition prohibit running XE databases on multiple virtual machines on the same physical machine? if not, does the machine have to be "hard partitioned" per oracle specifications (link below) to make it legal?
http://www.oracle.com/us/corporate/pricing/partitioning-070609.pdf
i found a similar question regarding 10g express edition in the forum (link below), but it doesn't seem like the question was ever definitively answered.
Oracle XE on multiple virtual machines on the same physical machine?
thanksI thought until I just checked that this was a clear cut no in that it specifies 'a single server'. Now I'm not sure as 'server' is an amibuous term. I at least know that as soon as you start giving developers access to theor own XE instance for dev/testing that there are many VM environments where you can't really know what physical macine your VM is running on to actually be able to tell if you had multiple XE instances running on a single 'Physical' server. I'm not sure the question has been answered by Oracle though.

Hyper-V Virtual Machine Critical error (RAID 5)
Hello
I have received call from my manager today from one of our site regarding hyper-v issue.
So here's the issue he stated as follows:
One of the IT technician was assigned to add 8TB HDD in a SAN just to add more storage space for our servers
So he went to the server room and boom he finished the job in minutes and started to configure RAID from his laptop like its all good as always.
few hours later users started to complain they can't get access to their staff share Drive well guess out all of the hyper _ v machine stopped working (critical error) on the server he installed those TBs, the hyper -v E drive gone missing where all the
virtual machines were stored.
and lastly he told me they already had RAID 5 implemented on that server. To be honest I don't know much either and only possible cause of course would be the RAID which should have been taken under consideration before making such move.
I was asked to give them a hand on this tomorrow and I will, just play around with it for bit and see where I can Lead to.
Any help would be highly appreciated!I wonder if the server has failed, it does happen rarely
I suggest gettings some lower cost NAS boxes for backups in case they are needed to repair the server

But I verified the admin ID does have full access to the folders. furthermore it belongs administrators, domain Admins, enterprise admins,
What gives? what additional privilege I need to give to the login ID, I tried in vain adding to Virtual machines but got rejected. I also could not locate anything like virtual machines in the active directory,
Btw I finally managed to create a new VM wi/ VHD but still can't create new vhd

the physical quad core Xenon server for backup dns also works as exchange server
has 12 GB RAM, 931 GB Raid 5 storage with 325 GB free. These actions are not performed in the security context of the user. The Local System / computer account of the Hyper-V Server is what needs the access, not the user.
Also, many AV products will cause these problems if the exclusions are not set properly, as they block the hypervisor from doing its job.

I have installed two virtual machines(win2k3 32bit and win2k3 64bit ) on Windows Server 2008 RC1 With Hyper-V Technologies (Beta) enterprise. Mouse is getting lost inside VM (using CTRL+ ATL + LEFT ARROW comes mouse control control in host OS).
Is there any setting to make mouse works? Insert Integration Serice setup Disk operation succeeds.all credits for mike_something
The problem is that the old mousedriver is hooked to the mouse device class.
To remove this dependency, go into the registry and navigate to the key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\{4D36E96F-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
Remove the value msvmmouf from the UpperFilters Regvalue.
Reboot....
tadaaa!!
If you wish you can take out the drivers completely by deleting these registry hives completely :
The driver:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\msvmmouf
The Service:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\VPCMap
The CopyHook Shell Extension: ( for folder access )
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{30C14BA C-122C-42ED-B319-1139DBF48EB8}\InProcServer32
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shellex\CopyHookHandle rs\VPCCopyHook
After a reboot you can delete the "Virtual Machine Additions" folder from program files...

IP Virtualization not working in Virtual Machine on Hyper-V
Hello everyone. Have such issue. We are using cisco agent desktop for our users. For working in Terminal server environment it needs dedicated IP for each program session. Currently we'are using hardware server with Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 with RDS.
We've added IPpool in registry for Virtualisation per program. It works fine. Now i'm trying to create a virtual machine with WS 2012 R2 with the same configuration(Hyper-V 2012 R2). The problem is it doesn't work. When creating new session or launching new
program i get APIPA address or get nothing at all. Will it work or still this functionality doesn't work?have you setup the IP virtualization GPOs in the new environment?
computer configuration > administrative templates > windows components > remote desktop services > remote desktop session host > application compatibility
I'm not sure what regkeys you have implemented but you may want to see if they still apply to 2012 R2, you might have to remove them -

Downloading iTunes 10.5 in Windows IE9 on Virtual machine causes error message
I am using an iMac running OS 10.6.8. I have Fusion V 3.1.3 installed, where I have a Virtual Machine with Windows 7 Home Edition installed. I also have a HP laptop with same windows 7 installed.
My problem has recently started where on the Virtual machine the IE9 "Smartscreen Filter" reports that both Itunes and Quicktime "Are not commonly downloaded and could affect my computer". Norton 360 reports that the files are safe. IE9 creates a fragment of file in download destination.
There is no problem with the HP laptop.
I have updated the Virtual Machine Win7 with latest updates.
This has recently happening with Apple downloads. The problem dissappeared, with downloads from Apple site occuring.

How do you get the two step security to work with virtual machines running under parallels?
I use Quickbooks running on a virtual PC under Parallels. I have always have Quickbooks interface with Thunderbird on the PC side to email invoices to customers using my apple email account.
Once I switched to two-step verification security, Apple doesn't recognize the "new" computer trying to access my mail account, but it also doesn't send any kind of code to a second device to authorize the access.
For now, I've had to switch back to the traditional security and the above process immediately works again 9without asking me any security questions).
Is there a way to have Apple recognize the virtual PC (or any other non-Mac computer) with two-step verification security? You have to go to your Apple ID and generate application specific passwords.

Error to run Configuration Wizard weblogic 12.1.2
my system is windows xp by 2 gig ram
and jvm version
C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.7.0_25\bin>java -version
java version "1.7.0_25"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0_25-b17)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 23.25-b01, mixed mode, sharing)
how resolve this problem and how find log file weblogic to this error? In user environments where the path to java is not already established as an system-level environment variable, the service is unable to determine where to find java and this error will occur.
This could occur, for example, in environments where there is more than one JDK installed, or where the default JDK is different from the JDK which needs to be used by WLS.
Try to set the environment variable in windows i.e JAVA_HOME=C:\Sun\Java\jdk1.7.xx.x. to point to jdk 1.7 and run the configuration wizard.
Hope it helps!!
Thanks,
Vijaya
