PXI error Insufficient location information

We have an HP EliteBook 8740w laptop (Windows 7) connected to a PXI chassis, via IExpressCard, using an NI PXI-8360 in slot 0. Using Measurement & Automation Explorer we can see the 8360 and the PXI chassis, but are unable to see any of the other cards plugged into the PXI chassis. We saw, once, an error in M&A that stated, for slot 2, VISA Resource = PXI7::15::INSTR (sTATUS=eRROR 0xBFFF0011 : Insufficient location information.

Hi Jim,
Did you identify the controller as “external PC” and identify your chassis in MAX? What cards do you have plugged into your computer? Do you see them in MAX? In Device Manager?

Hello,
    We have been getting this error once in a while on our test system. (See attachment) Our system is running Windows 7, MAX 5.5.0f0, TestStand 4.2.1 and LabView 2010 SP1.
   To get the error to clear and the system to run we have to go in and rename each VISA to a bogus name and save it. Then go back and rename them back to what they should be and save again.
   We get this error maybe once every 3 or 4 months, but it does stop production until we get in and fix it.  What is going on and how do we fix it?

Which program is this error occuring in? (Teststand or LabVIEW?)
   I am running a TestStand sequence and it is calling a LabView vi to set the power supply.
How long do you run the program until the error occurs? (Are you running it the entire 3-4 months?)
   The system is typically run during 1st shift each day.   Powered off at night.
What are the names of your VISA resources?
   "DCPS1" the power supply
   "DMM" the multimeter
   "FREQ-CNTR"   frequency meter
Are you referencing the VISA resources using the ASRL::INSTR aliases in your program, or something else?
   The vi specifies the VISA session.
NI recommended the method of temporary renaming of the handles, but they never gave a long term fix or root cause of the problem. When it happens we rename each VISA by adding an additional character to the name and Save it. Them delete the character and Save it again, as the original name. We do that for each VISA then the TestStand sequence will run with no problems.

I had labview software running and talking to all instruments. added a agilent E4440a psa to the GPIB bus and now my code does not run. even when i build a vi from scratch it keeps giving me this error and no communication to equipment. any ideas what happened or how to fix it??

I opened MAX and can query all equipment.

Trying to communicate with HP54845A using IVIscope routines and getting error 0XBFFF0011 (Insufficient location information or the requested device or resource is not present in the system).

I am able to talk to the device using the MAX tool and also using Plug & Play VIs. The device is at address 7, so I'm using the string GPIB[0]::7::INSTR. I have downloaded the latest hp345xx dll (version 3.13)and have iviscope version 3.0.2.0 installed.

What version of the IVI Compliance package do you have? You can check this under the software tab in MAX. Also, see the attached screenshots for a sample assignment/configuration of a logical name and a driver session. Once you have gone through the analagous steps it should work, where your resource name control in LabVIEW should be populated with the logical name created in MAX.

Insufficient location for USB Device

I get the following error when I run the working program on another computer.
Error was -1073807343
Insufficient location information or the device or resource is not present in the system.
I have created an alias in my program #define THORLABS_ALIAS "ThorLabs-ITC4001" and inside MAX I have added the alias to the device. On both computers MAX finds the instrument and shows it working properly.
I had no problems using the instrument with the MAX setup on my development computer.
I have tried changing the alias to just ITC4001 in both my program and MAX but still get the same error.
What is the next step I need to do in troubleshooting this error?

Is this problem limited to this device? Do you have any other devices or instruments to test an alias on. Maybe something is wrong with your MAX installation or database. What version of MAX are you using? Could you send me a Spy Capture of your communication attempt? Might provide some further details. Follow the instructions here and make sure to enable logging to a file.

Ora-01031 error: insufficient Priviliges

hi experts,
im was completely enervated by a simple error for which im hanging out for plenty of hours. kindly advice me what to do to eradicate it.
i have a Redhat Linux AS 4 server and 9.2.0.4 database version.
The problem is, when im trying to connect database as sysdba with netservice name, i.e using remote authentication method, i was thrown ora-01031 error: insufficient priviliges. But when i tend to connect it locally using OS authentication method it permits me to do it.
for example,

i've configured oracle in Linux environment as per the documentation. i can't figure out the exact problem. the sqlnet.ora file contains SQLNET.AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES=none

yes. i've Password file in its appropirate location,
which is named as orapw$ORACLE_SID
and the parameter, remote_login_passwordfile is set
as EXCLUSIVE.This should be fine.
Try
- select * from v$pwfile_users; to check whether oracle sees the password file
- recreate the password file, if possible (it can get corrupted sometimes)
- delete sqlnet.ora to go with the defaults (of course, backup it first)
- check whether you can connect as usual user using the net service name (and check whether you connect to the proper database, just to be sure)
- try to connect from a different machine
- check that TWO_TASK and TNS_ADMIN environment variables are not set.

It also creates an empty filter condition when drilling down: *sawx:exprsawx:comparisonequal is equal to / is in [missing value] [Edit Filter]*
Also notice the extra equal sign in the generated query which is causing the problem.
The time hierarchy is set up correctly in the repository (with keys on the levels, etc.) and no preferred drillpath or anything special.
If you have any hint or solution for this problem please let me know.

I found out this occurs when you have 'double column' columns (columns with a Descriptor ID set in the repository) in your report. When you try to drill down on any dimension you will get this error. I reproduced this on the Sample App installation. This seems like a bug.

Hope all are well. I am getting this error "insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service" while trying to install Lookback Adapter on my Windows 7 Professional OS installed on my HP Laptop.
Well, there is more to this problem. Actually I have VMWare installed on my Laptop where everything was working fine. At one fresh boot, I found VMWare Host-Only adapters were missing. So I tried to enable them and could never do so. I tried to troubleshoot
a lot but couldn't get it working. Not sure why but I thought of uninstalling Lookback Adapter and reinstall and see if that works and there you go, I am getting "insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service". I am sure if
I can solve this one for Loopback Adapter, I can also make VMWare environment working as there definitely appears to be a relation between these two.
So by now, I have at least read 20 different articles and did a "Clean Boot" of OS and uninstalled all unnecessary applications from it. But I still can't install Loopback Adapter.
Can some Microsoft expert provide a solution? I can see many people facing this problem and many of them haven't found a solution. Note that I have admin rights on my OS.
Any quick help will be greatly appreciated!

SSIS - "Insufficient Connection information was supplied" problem

I have connection problem with my SSIS package. Setup is as follows:
Package includes 150+ dataflows that pump data from Informix tables to MS SQL Server tables
Setup of each dataflow consists of ADO.NET source (newest driver version 4.10 for Windows x64) and OLEDB destination pointing to SQL Server 2012
Data components are linked to connection managers, which are parametrised. Connection string is set from one parameter and password from another (sensitive) parameter
All dataflows are in one big container to achieve maximal parallelism (parameter MaxConcurrentExecutables = -1) and highest performance.
Most of the time, it works correctly. But ca. 1 out of 10 runs, I get following error:
Error: ADO NET Source has
failed to acquire the connection {3DC4A80D-EC92-4551-
B607-B0D2E2652F43} with the following error message:
"ERROR [HY000] [Informix .NET provider][-11302]
Insufficient Connection information was supplied".
When I then re-run the package with identical configuration, it runs fine. Informix support told me, that from their point
of view everything seems OK. They tried to simulate this error and ran test with ca. 50 dataflows (but with password supplied in connection string) and it ran correctly.
So they assume, that problem lies within SSIS, which sometimes simply fails to supply password to ADO.NET source
and it fails. Do you have any suggestion where might be problem?

According to your description, it supposed to be the performance issue. I suggest you can run the packages in more network traffic time, increase the hardware and virtual memory of your computer to test again. For adding virtual memory, please go to System
Properties -> Advance -> Performance Options -> Advance -> Virtual Memory, increase the size for Virtual Memory.

Error message "Location XYZ does not exist for item1" Message no. BBP_PD047

Hi all,
When i do confirmation for PO in SRM, the system gives error message "Location XYZ does not exist for item1" when i enter Location for the plant thought the Location is mapped to Plant in ECC system. System shows error when i click on check button, it allowing me add locations.
This is happening when confirming the PO line items having differernt plants and it is not happeing all the time, sometimes it does't work. I
f all the line items have same Plants, there is no issue.
I am not able to understand why it is working some time and not working other time.(message no: BBP_PD047 in SLG1)
can some one help me in understanding this?

Can not sign in to photoshop elements - Error occurred and information not saved

I am trying to sign in to my account from my Photoshop Element 10 program. When I log in, I get a msg that says my account has been located and I need to update some information. It asks for DOB and to make up a website address. After filling in all the blanks and check boxes I try to click on Update account. It tries to "submit" information when I get a "failure" msg saying Error occured and information was not saved. I can not move past this step. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the program without benefit.

If these are iMessages then they are "archived" as the app runs a database item called chat.db that holds the "history" of the iMessages conversations you have had.
In Mavericks this is in ~/Library/Messages
There are several database items in here that are needed as a whole.
If the chats on show in the main Messages window are from AIM, Jabber or Yahoo connection then these will need to have been Saved at the time.
In Messages Menu > Preferences > General Section is the setting for Save on Close.
This will save the chat if you dismiss it from the Main window or when you quit the app.
With an open chat this may mean that different bits are saved in folders dated for different days.
In Mavericks this is in ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.ichat/Data/Library/Messages/Archive
Basically this is in the Sandboxed area of ~/Library
Have you tried going to the Accounts section of the Preferences and using the Sign Out button ?
Once you have done this shut down the app (Quit).
On restarting the app re-add the Apple ID.

Location information on year view is not shown.

Strangely I do not see the location information of my pictures that are taken in 2014 when I am in the "Year" view in Photos app. If I go in to the year itself (2014), I do see that all pictures have location information.
I tried to reset the phone, turn of iCloud photo sync etc but nothing worked.
It is very annoying, any clue how to fix this?

Error: "The document information panel was unable to load"

I have created a custom document content type that uses a specified word template for a sharepoint document library for contracts and offers, and added a few custom columns in the document library as well. The word template launches succesfully when creating a new item in the document library, but the problem arises when I add custom columns to the word template content type. When the document loads in Word, I get the following error: "The Document Information Panel was unable to load. The document will continue to open. For more information, contact your system administrator." And in details:
"Document Information Panel cannot create a new, blank form.
Document Information Panel cannot open the form. To fix this problem, contact your system administrator.

Interestingly enough, I have two web applications running on the same server that I have tried to implement this on, and on the other it works flawlessly, meaning that the Document Information Panel launches successfully and I can edit the columns associated with that content type and store the values in a document library. I have also tried to save the DIP template from the working web application and use it as the default DIP template on the other application, but that doesn't work either.
I have also tried to browse through all options and configurations in the application settings in CA and SSP, but to no avail. Any suggestions about what might be causing this problem or how to fix it would be greatly appreciated.

How do I export an album from the iPhone Photos app in a form that retains location information so I can import it to ArcMap or Google Earth?

I have an iPhone 4S with OS 5.1 installed and I have taken several hundred photos that are geotagged and that show up in the Places page in the Photos app. These were taken for field work and have data in them that we want to use to tie information in the photos to locations in a GIS application. Therefore I would like to be able to export the mapped locations along with the photos in a way that would allow me to upload the locations to ArcMap or to Google Earth. I know that the individual photos have location information but the process of uploading them to Panoramio one at a time is labor-intensive, whereas I can take an entire album in the Photos application and quickly display locations tied to photos on the screen.
Also these photos were taken before I enabled iCloud on my iPhone and I'm wondering how to upload them even though they were taken previously. When I go into the "share" menu my only options are email, tweet, message, and print. I'd like to send the whole album to iCloud so I can at least bring it back into applications on my Macbook Pro.
Does anyone have a recommendation as to how I can go about doing either of these things?

Go to about half way down the page. The script works well, but I'd like to change it so that I only export Versions w/ a specified "main rating" (or greater than a minimum rating)
If you look at the script, there's a line:
"set theimages to every image version as list"
FYI: "image version" is an Aperture class that represents an image version. "main rating" is a property of "image version"
Is there a way to modify this applescript statement to spec only those "image versions" that meet a min "main rating"? I tried a bunch of things, and none of them compiled. (I need to learn Applescript)
If not, then how could this be done w/ a little loop in Applescript?
