PXI filter bank
Hi all,
Does anyone know if there is a bandpass filter bank or tunable bandpass filter manufactured as a programmable PXI-card? I need this for image-rejection in UHF region when using a PXI-RF-digitizer. Thank you for any inputs.

several subvi's dispite me installing most of the toolsets.
my setup:
Dell Laptop: P4m 2.2ghz 1g RAM: winXP SP2
LabVIEW 7.1.1 student edition complete install
Controls / image / signal processing toolsets
I have downloaded the "Mod B LV 60.llb " version for LabVIEW 6
but recieved the following errors on loading the main program:
Errors:
cannot find: AI Read.vi - AI Start.vi - AI config.vi - AI

is there an updated version of this sample program for use with
7.1.1? Where can I get the needed files to use this program?

[email protected]Hey Todd,
The four vis that you listed are a part of the traditional DAQ driver. It looks like you don't have that driver installed or that you don't have support installed. One quick way to check and see if you have the traditional DAQ driver installed is to go to LabVIEW, then pull up the functions palette. Go to NI Measurements>>Data Acquisition. If you don't have the "data acquisition" option, then either support or the driver itself isn't installed. The next step is to go to the Measurement and Automation Explorer (Start>>Programs>>National Instruments>> Measurement & Automation). On the left hand side of the window, you'll see a directory structure. Under My system, you'll see a "software" directory. Expand it. Look for something called "Traditional DAQ". If you don't have it, then you don't have the traditional DAQ driver installed and that's the problem. To install the driver go to the following web site http://search.ni.com/nisearch/nisearchservlet?nistype=default&filter=+%2BProductLine%3A41+%2BDownloa.... I'm assuming you're using WinXP. Download and install the driver. If you have hardware physically installed in the computer when you install the driver, that adds another step. You'll have to perform a repair of the driver once it's installed. You can do this by going to Start>>Settings>>Control Panel>>Add Remove Programs>>NI Software. Then select change. That should create a list of currently installed software. Select "NI-DAQmx" and then hit the repair button.
One last note. When installing the driver, make sure you select to install support for LabVIEW. You should now see the vis that you were missing in LabVIEW and therefore the program should now run.

I am trying to build an application using Wavelet transforms (Signal
Processing Toolkit) with LabVIEW ver 7.
I wish to include the run-time files on disk along with executable, but
not actually have to install run-time engine on the target machine.
When I try to run said executable on target machine, it fails to load
upon not finding LVSPT.dll.
If I force LVSPT.dll by adding it as a support file or simply placing it
in required directory, I get ERROR...
"An error occured loading VI 'Read Filter Bank Coefficients.vi' LabVIEW
load error code 21: An external subroutine required for execution could
not be found"
This happens for Read Filter Bank Coefficients.vi, Decimation Filter.vi
and Interpolation Filter.vi. All else seems well.
Any suggestions.Hello Guig,
Thank you for posting to the NI Discussion Forums. I am unaware of any “resource.dll” that is
needed for the toolkit. If this is
related to the above posts, the files needed for building an application with
the toolkit are outlined here (http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/websearch/5ED3D385E2D3AAFA86256DAB00775919?OpenDocument).
You mentioned reinstalling LabVIEW, but
if the problems appear with toolkit VIs you
might want to consider reinstalling the toolkit. Make sure that when you remove the toolkit
you do so through Windows control panel in add/remove programs. Could you also provide us with some
additional information on the problem – such as software version information
(i.e. what version of LV,
what version of the toolkit, etc…), as well as some screenshots of any errors
you are encountering?
Hopefully we can help you to resolve this problem. Please let me know if you have any additional
information.

How to put a filter on BAPI(Bank.SaveReplica)?
Hello,
The last days we have had some trouble with the BAPI Bank_SaveReplica (Duplicate single bank (ALE)). We have a 2-environment landscape. In our model view: accounting, data is send from system A to system B. For another project we have created a couple of Dummy country codes in system A, but now system A tries to send VIA the BAPI also to the dummy country codes. The problem is that the dummy country codes arent replicated in system B so all IDOC'S go into error. We are not allowed to create the dummy country codes in system B, and therefore we search a solution with data filtering. I have found a possible solution in transaction "BDBG" you can say for this interface (BUS1011 SaveReplica) I want that the data filter is active. But for this you have to change a standard SAP program, so this is a little bit risky. Can somebody tell me how it is supposed to be done without modifying the standard? Thank you.HI Jens

Low pass filter (PXI 4472)
Hi,
I would like to know whether the PXI4472 module has a built-in low pass filter ?? If yes, can you send me the specfication for that filter?? Also, does the the SCXI 1125 support Vrms = 2500V isolation ??Hello,
The PXI-4472 has a antialias filter which limits the bandwidth of the signal it can represent. The SCXI-1125 has +-300 Vrms of working isolation per channel. The information regarding the PXI-4472 filters and the SCXI isolation specifications may be found at NI Product Manuals.
Let me know if you have any further questions. For direct questions regarding the PXI-4472, you will be better off posting a new question to the DSA discussion forum.

Hi,
I have some questions about the Filter Delays associated with the PCI or PXI-4461 card.
I do not have this card, but am interested in it, especially the 24-bit analog output function, to control a test apparatus I have. The problem I face now is that the test apparatus and sensors are sensitive enough to see each bit change in the 16-bit resolution analog control voltage I now use to control the apparatus. I like the sensitivity of my equipment, but do not like seeing the bit changes in the control signal in the resulting data.
I am concerned about how the Filter Delays inherent in the 4461 operation, the roughly 3 milli second delays from instructing the 4461 to output (or input) a signal, and that output signal actually responding (as I understand what the Filter Delay is), will affect the ability of that card being effectively used as an instrument control signal. I do not want milli second delays interrupting the otherwise smooth control of the test apparatus. I am interested in learning about what triggers a filter delay so it can be avoided if possible.
For example, I might generate an analog output signal to control my test apparatus that consists of several monotonically increasing linear voltage ramps with different slopes, each voltage ramp slope representing a different sliding velocity for the servo mechanism in my test machine to follow.
I could do this by calculating each ramp separately and join them together to make one lengthy voltage ramp / waveform where voltage changes as a function of time vary within the longer waveform. That longer waveform is fed to the DAC to play back at a constant clock rate. Besides the initial start-up of the DAC, I don’t think that there there would be any filtering delays in that example, would there?
However, I do control the machine on the fly so to speak, where changes in the control voltage ramp occurs at arbitrary times without stopping the program, calculations for each DAC update are done right before it’s sent to the DAC. Would each DAC change in this case trigger a filter delay?
Another option to generate a machine control signal is to generate a simple voltage ramp that starts at -10V and ends at +10V that has 16,777,216 values, one for each of the 24-bits. As the program runs, the clock rate is varied which causes the DAC to generate bit changes at different rates, which varies the rate the voltage output changes with time. Will each chang of the clock rate trigger a filter delay?
I realize that there are other ways to increase the resolution of an analog output using 2 or more 12 and/or 16-bit analog outputs, but they too have their limitations. It would be nice to simply have a high resolution analog DAC without the added external hardware and added programming complications associated with the multi DAC output ‘solutions’.
Any comments regarding the 4461 cards and how they might behave under these scenarios, or suggestions for alternative hardware/software to get a finer DAC output resolution would be appreciated.
thanks,
BrianBriank:
The filter delay in an analog output is dependent on the sampling rate that you choose. If the 3-4 ms delay is too much for your application, you can sample at a faster rate. For example, if you sample anywhere between 102.4 - 204..8 kS/s, your delay is 32 samples. This corresponds to a delay of 0.1563 to 0.3125 ms. Do these numbers seem more reasonable for your application?
The filter delay happens regardless, it is not triggered. Let's take a filter delay of 1 ms for example. From the time the data is transferred onto the card, there is a 1 ms delay as it propagates through the DAC. There is a constant lag time when using any output channel.
Changing the clock rate during run-time is not supported, the better way to do this would be to sample at the highest rate possible and create an array of data that has multiple samples of the same value to emulate a lower sample rate. This gives you the benefit of having the shortest filter delay time (0.3 ms).

Setting PXI 4472 anti-alias filter
Please excuse what is probably a very stupid question. I am new to using the PXI DSAs
On a PXI-4472 DSA (as run by a PXI-8196 controller running LV 8.2) how do you programmatically set the cutoff frequency for the anti-aliasing filter? Can you even do this? I tried using the AI.Lowpass.CuttoffFreq property to set it, but it just returns error -200452 and says that "Specified property is not supported by the device or is not applicable to the task."
Thanks!!Panthera395,
devchandler is correct the cutoff frequency is automatically set based on the sampling rate. The only way to modify the cutoff frequency is to either disable to filter, or change your sampling rate. For more information take a look at the NI Dynamic Signal Acquisition Help:
http://digital.ni.com/manuals.nsf/websearch/FCD835105CD3A20E86257130005DA240
The section on the Anti-Alias Filters explains the behavior of the anti-aliasing filters in more detail. Let us know if you have any additional questions. Good luck with your application.

Filter pxi-6602 LabVIEW DAQ-mx
Hi,
I have a PXI-6602 card.
The signal to measure is on the gate pin.
On the source pin, it is the internal 20MHz.
The counter uses the ND_BUFFERED_EVENT_CNT mode.
I have a LabWindows code with NI driver DAQ for this card which uses filter with this function <<< Line_Change_Attribute( device number, line name, ND_LINE_FILTER, ND_5_MICROSECONDS) >>>
I must rewrite the code to LabVIEW with NI driver DAQ-mx.
I use the counter to count edge mode.
I don't know how to configure the same filter in LabVIEW with DAQ-mx.
Can you help me ?
thanks
best regardsAssuming you're using the external signal as a "sample clock" in your edge count task, you would enable the filter like this (called before starting the task):
There are other ways to configure what is essentially the same thing though--if you're using the external signal as something other than a sample clock (e.g. a "pause trigger") then there would be a different property that you would need to set instead.

Using input hardware filter from PXI-5122 with niscope LV driver
Hello,
In my application I want to use the input hardware filter of 20MHz at the input to reduce noise during the measurement. In the NIScope driver I can configure my input with a "Maximum frequency". When I put this on 20MHz, I don't notice any difference. My question: Is this the right way to configure the 20MHz Input filter?
Kind Regards,
JoostOne problem may be that few of us on this forum are familiar with the hardware. Why not try posting in the High-Speed Digitizers forum?
Really, someone at NI should have replied to your post by now, as it is their policy to address all unanswered support questions themselves. They have the ability to route your question to scope specialists internally, so it shouldn't matter where you post. Maybe this one fell through the cracks, in which case you'll just have to keep yelling, or maybe--though you shouldn't have to--repost.

Post Processing a bank line item - opening balance
Hi Experts,
I need some help with post processing of a bank statement item.
It is a greenfield implementation where no legacy transactional data or opening balances are migrated. Therefore I've posted a bank statement with incoming domestic bank transfer. This line item now requires post processing as it does not relate to any preceding transaction / document.
The journal entry looks like this...
161012 - AUD Bank No.1 Domestic bank transfers = Credit 5,000,000
161010 - AUD Bank Account No 1 = Debit 5,000,000
I guess "post processing" is required to clear the account 161012 and credit account 161010.
What is the best way to do that?
Thanks
PuruHi Puru,
Go to Liquidity Management > view bank statements > Filter with your new bank
You will observe that a bank statement with ID # 0 got created and the closing balance is same amount what you have migrated.
Now you select new bank statement the ID will be 1 and the last bank statement 0 closing balance will become the opening bank balance in bank statement # 1.
Migration of balances for bank accounts enables you to migrate the current balances of your bank accounts. During migration system automatically creates an offsetting entry so that the document balance results in zero ( this entry is only for migration posting only )
Your expectation of again posting manual journal is not incorrect and is not required here.
Your migration of bank opening balance amount is successful and you can use this bank account for your postings going forward.
Kindly mark this thread as answered if i answered your queries.
Thanks

Hi,
My bill pay program worked with the older version of Firefox (see url below). It does not work with the most current one. I can either wait until they get it to work with firefox 4.0 which may be never, change banks or maybe (please) you have some easy fix that will work for them so I don't have to uninstall 4.0 and re-install an older version of firefox which I can't seem to find on your website, sigh.
so bottom line is there an easy fix and if not can I get an older version of Firefox to use?
Thanks,
CathyIn some cases, the incompatibility is due to the new HTML5 parser in Firefox 4. You could disable that and test whether the bank site works again.
(1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
(2) In the filter box, type or paste '''html5''' and pause while the list is filtered
(3) Double-click '''html5.parser.enable''' to toggle it to false (it should turn bold).
Then reload the bank page and see whether it works.
And if you need it, here's the process to roll back:
First, I recommend backing up your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Backing+up+your+information Backing up your information]. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)
Next, download and save Firefox 3.6 to your desktop for future installation. http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all-older
Close Firefox 4.
You could install Firefox 3.6 over it (many have reported success) or you could uninstall Firefox first. If you uninstall, do not remove your personal data and settings, just the program.
Unless you have installed an incompatible add-on, Firefox 3.6 should pick up where you left off. If there are serious issues, please post back with details.
Note: I haven't actually tried this myself! -
How to create a filter on BAPI
We have got a requirement where we are passing bank data using BANK_SAVEREPLICA.
Now the issue is that we need to put a filter for one particular country code ( the particular value say 'IND' could be excluded from the list of country codes within the BD64 Distribution model).
On eparticular country code we donot want to get communicated between the systems so need to filter data.
We tried TCODE bd95, bd96 but still missing some step and unable to reach any conclusions on this issue.
need response urgentlyThe active model view is maintained in different system and is distributed in my system say, ABC...
Now we are sending data from abc to xyz.
its using object :Bank and method SaveReplica.
Now i need to put filter on bank country key.....
now the question is :
1) can we maintain duplicated model views in system abc.
2). If i create a model view in system abc and create a filter on BANK_SAVEREPLICA it will be active for all the systems to which we are sending data or it will be active for only the system (i will mention in model view ) -
How to wire up and use 256 points at a time on the PXI-2532
I have a PXI chassis with a PXI-2532 512-Crosspoint Matrix Switch Module, a TB-2640 connected to it, and a PXI-4072 FlexDMM and LCR meter.
I am trying to use the DMM to make measurements of something connected to the switch matrix. What I can't seem to figure out, is since the matrix is a 1 wire 4x128 matrix, how do you connect 256 points when there are only 128 conductors in the ribbon cables that attach to the 2640? There are 2 banks of 8, each with 16-pins, on the TB-2640, that seem to be wired internally together. I would like to utilize 256 points in the 512 matrix at a time, and currently I have the DMM hooked up to r0 and r1 to take the measurements. How would I hook up r2 and r3, in the same matrix?
If you are really confused I can explain further, but I haven't found anything that shows how you would actually connect 256 wires to the 2532, when there are only 128 columns. Any information helps.
Thank you.Since the matrix is a 4x128, there are 4 rows and 128 columns to which you can connect devices under test (DUTs). You can not connect 256 different DUTs because there are not 256 connections. The points refer to the switches inside the card rather than the actual signals.
Here's a bit more info:

Also I would post future switch questions here:

I hope this helps,
