Python S60 for Nokia E52 ?

Hi all. I'm having this problem: Yesterday I Uninstall my Python S60 2.0 from my device from Application manager. I downloaded it before some days from SW Update direct from my phone, but now there isn't there. So I am wondering is there any place to download it or I don't need this application ?

  • For Nokia - E52

This is Nokia at its best!!! Plain and simple.
I've played with lots of mobile devices but this one is by far the best I've come around.
It's a perfectly balanced mobile phone in terms of size and weight!!! It's wide but it's not to wide to say it doesn't fit in your hand while being very light at the same time, the width and the weight making it a very balanced mobile phone. Sometimes I was actually forgetting that I had the phone in my hand. The screen is of a good size for this form factor, and the keyboard it is a delight to type on. Basically when it comes to the physical dimensions this phone is having everything E51 missed. I really mean I can't get enough of that keypad! The keys are just PERFECT, wide without being to big or chunky, so you can type very efficiently on it without pressing the wrong buttons(unlike the C5's ones that are big but in the wrong way). The size and shape of the keys together with the T9 dictionary can easily match the efficiency of a qwerty keypad. Actually I don't see the sense on having a qwerty if you know how to handle this device. It is definitely an improvement over the already very good keypad that E51 had.
It has a very good processor, having a more powerful one would have made to much of an impact over the battery life. Excellent battery 1500Mah Li Po.
Drawbacks? Or why I wouldn't purchase this cell phone? I travel a lot and because of this I need HSDPA on most of the frequencies out there.
NOKIA just issue a second edition of this mobile phone with HSDPA on 850/900/1800/1900/2100, almost the same frequencies you have on the N8 and you've got yourself the perfect candy bar phone!!!

To me it is one of the best handsets nokia made,
it has every thing any phone can have.
Yes it has a camera. it is a camera on a phone. what more can we ask of a PHONE.
High speed data. compass. it has more than most phones. Most important 1500mA battery.( the n900 has 1300mA battery>>> i ask why?)
i do my emails, twitter, sms. mms, maps( very acurate in the uk but off by 100meters in nigeria)
But i guess it has been stoped in production. a few bugs in the firmware( way much better than the N97, lol)
Very good Phone overall. next phone is N900 most likely my last nokia unless..............

  • Psiloc Wireless Presenter for Nokia E52

I wanted to get a bigger(one with more space) memory card to put in my nokia. Before changing memory cards, I made a backup of all contents(cut/paste everything onto my pc) in the memory card that came with the phone. After doing so, I switched to the new one and simply put all the contents on the new one. I then proceeded to check if everything was in order and realized that several applications no longer appeared in the menu, but were shown as installed in the app manager. I tried resetting my phone to see if the apps would reappear and also updated it again to see if that would work, but they still weren't there. As a result, I uninstalled them thinking I just had to reinstall them. I searched for them on Ovi Store and then the nokia site, but realized some weren't available such as Psiloc Wireless Presenter. I was wondering if it's possible to retrieve Psiloc WiPresenter somehow? I would greatly appreciate anyone's help

Not sure I understand.  Did you buy Wireless Presenter, or did it come with your phone?  If it came pre-installed on a new phone, that is an issue between you and Nokia.  Maybe (a long shot?) you could buy another memory card from them with it pre-installed?  If you purchased (a 30 euro program), you should have a receipt to present to either Ovi support or to Psiloc directly.
There is also a separate "Phone Applications" forum here, where you might get better advice.

  • Gmail for Nokia E52

Please help, I set-up my e-mail using the e-mail set-up wizard using my Gmail account.  I can see my inbox mail, and receive new e-mails but I cannot send any replies or new mail out. I do not know how to resolve this issue.
    Thanks.

    AnnaBHoriike,
Some providers are known to block the ports used by POP and/or SMTP for incoming and/or outgoing mails. It'll be a good idea to check with your network provider if they have these things set up in their servers.
If you just have to check mails and reply, then the Gmail application is a good alternative.

  • Nokia e52 updates

when will telstra release anna for nokia e52 has anyone got any ideas

The E52 is a Series 60 3.2 device, not a Symbian^3 device, and is not even touchscreen. Symbian Anna is for Symbian^3 devices, therefore no E52 will receive the Anna update. Hope this clears things up for you.

  • Default antivirus software in nokia e52

    Hi,
I wanted to know that which is the default antivirus software installed in nokia e52 phone.
If not then which is the prefereable antivirus software for nokia e52?
    Regards,
    Ashlesh

There is no default antivirus software on any Nokia phones.
Basically there is no need for one either. It only exists a handful of viruses for the Symbian OS, and as long as you don't open every suspicious e-mail, mms or bluetooth file sent you your phone the probability of caching a virus is very small.

  • No email body in mail for exchange? Nokia E52

On my Nokia E52 i have setup mail for exchange access to gmail, but all it seems to download is the header with who its from and the subject? There isnt any mention of the email body/message at all?
My contacts and calendar all sync properly.
Am i missing something?  On my ipod touch it downloads the messages using the exact same account

Curious issue, on the 22nd January 2010, I also got a system message stating ‘Mail for Exchange – Your account does not have permission to synchronise with your current settings.'  then a further message saying that the phone required a locking password etc.  This resulted in the phone being locked before it could be opened.
I'm sure nothing changed on the local mail servers, so I wonder what has changed on the Mail For Excange settings?

  • Losing internet connection on Wi-Fi (Nokia E52)

    Hi Everyone!
    I have:
    1) PC (Windows 7) with ASDL internet (D-Link DSL-200) and USB Wi-Fi Adapter (TP-Link TL-WN821N)
    2) Two netbooks (Windows XP)
    3) Smartphone Nokia E52
I want to: share the Internet from PC to other devices via Wi-Fi adapter.
The problem: on PC Wi-Fi connection disconnects with smartphone. But on smartphone, connection is active, the smartphone sends the packets, but the PC is not responding
    Updates, drivers, firmware:
Windows 7 - all the latest updates.
Windows XP - all the latest updates.
    D-Link DSL-200 - installed the latest driver.
    TP-Link TL-WN821N - installed the latest driver.
    Nokia E52 - installed the latest firmware (091.003 \ 03-Apr-2012)
I was standing on a PC Windows XP. First I tried the program Connectify Pro. Speed is low, not always connected. I created connection manually by Ad-Hoc mode (I manually prescribed IP and DNS addresses). On netbooks, connection is good! But the problem is with the smartphone. Sometimes the connection is lost, on PC Wi-Fi connection disconnects with smartphone. But on smartphone, connection is active, the smartphone sends the packets, but the PC is not responding. I thought, that USB Wi-Fi adapter's power saving is active, but it was disabled. My friend recommended installing Windows 7. I’ve install it. The same thing ... (on PC Wi-Fi connection disconnects with smartphone. But on smartphone, connection is active, the smartphone sends the packets, but the PC is not responding). Situation is the same in Ad Hoc mode and in SoftAP using MS Virtual Wi-Fi or Connectify Pro.
    Is there any solution?
By the way! I forgot to say, if any of netbook will be connected to the PC via Wi-Fi, the smartphone does not lose internet connection, but turning off the netbook creates the same problem after minutes (on PC Wi-Fi connection disconnects with smartphone. But on smartphone, connection is active, the smartphone sends the packets, but the PC is not responding).
Wi-Fi connection on netbooks is good, internet works, no disconnects.
I read on the Russian forums, that such a disease is on all Nokia S60 smartphones.
P.S. Sorry for my bad English.

    Hi AssIsBack,
Thanks for your feedback and welcome to the forum.
From your description I make it you are creating the ad-hoc connection using the TP-Link TL-WN821N? As a general rule it is not advisable to use ad-hoc for 'permanent' WLAN connections. This is more intended for quick 'point to point' connections and is generally considered to be both unstable and insecure. Also it could be you are using the same USB hub on your PC to connect both the modem and the WLAN interface which may cause these two devices to interfere with each other.
I would strongly suggest you replace the D-Link DSL-200 with a modem which has a WLAN accesspoint built in. You will find this will increase your networks dependability and speed. It will also allow you to have your PC turned off and still be able to use WLAN with your phone.

  • Are we Beta testing the N97 for Nokia?

Because if i was given this as a beta release i would have told them what i thought, the current launch version on the N97 with V10 firmware is barely an Alpha release, this phone was a rush job thrown out on the market to coincide with the launch of the iphone 3Gs.
This is my fourth N series, N80, N95, N95 8gb (the best N series yet), and now this N97 what should be Nokia's flagship, but being stripped of apps and filled with Trial versions to please the accountants at Nokia.
Day one and it locked up twice, corrupted my contacts when synced with OVI, and ran down to less than 4mb on the C drive, day 2 i found the GPS was not working, it was a joke, walking down the road under a clear sky and it could not hold a signal lock, driving was worse barely holding a signal for a few seconds and as for sitting spinning it round for an age to get the compass to work........forget it id rather be lost than look like a **bleep**.
Deleting apps and reinstalling them on the mass memory frees up some space, but why should we have to do this, the whole phone is badly thought out and configured.
Soon after the stylus supplied with the phone and attached to the phones only tie point scratched my screen, what was wrong with a rear cover with a bump and a thin PDA style stylus, no not good enough for Nokia, a fat thing on a string will do for them.
New Firmware release 4 days after UK launch and still not available to most users as it has not been network approved yet, 3 network say its Nokia's job and they are delaying things, Nokia say its the networks delay. Come on if it was needed that quickly why leave most of your customers waiting, or just get to work on a layered OS with a standardised core with a network layer, so everyone can have the updated without waiting.
4 weeks in on this phone, i too have the scratched camera lens, still No working GPS, and having some good negotiations with Three to try to reverse the contact upgrade, as i don't think another N97 will last any longer than this one.
I see Nokia spending Millions on punting the N97, TV, Billboards, Net adds, why push so hard on what is a sub standard product, could you imagine Joe public trying to free off some memory by moving apps, tell the care centres to brace themselves the N97 flood will be coming their way.
What next, well if 3 don't cancel the upgrade, then Nokia will have to fix my phone again and again and again untill it works as advertised, in the mean time i am off to get in touch with watchdog so they can let Joe Public know what to expect from an N97.

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I don't believe we're beta testing the N97 for Nokia. Beta testing suggests it is in a state prior to production. Nokia's track record (at least to me) seems that leading edge phones never reach a stable plateau.
What I believe happens is the phone is released and remains unstable until they sort of perfect the platform, then a new handset is released bringing a whole new world of bugs and problems and so the cycle continues.
By the time the phone is suitable for every day use it is, by today's technological stance, ancient and the damage has already been done to the reputation.
S40 phones seem to fare much better, mainly because it is much more widely used within Nokia. S60 is up against some fine competition from vendors who will rush fixes out.. Nokia only ever seems to rush phones out. It isn't the same and it shows (see their forcast for the next 6 months)
I honestly would not be surprised if this flagship phone limps on in a partially functional state until it is superceeded by a budget blackberry clone.
Sad? Very! Am I being cynical, or telling it like it is.
I'd be real interested to know if any exec at Nokia used the N97 in the weeks before it was released.. Not that I'm a fan, but we all know Stevie J used an iphone long before it was released.. I kind of get the impression they must all use very basic "corporate" s40 handsets and assume their flagship product must be of the same calibre.
Next release, why not give 100 people N97 for testing, real testing.  It seems Nokias quality assurance team is out of touch with what a $700 handset demands.. ooooh, I gasp in awe at your 30 MB of free capactity when you remove ALL the applications you can. (It's like having a 2TB hard drive in a computer and continuing to boot from a floppy)
I appreciate there are product time lines to meet, but if Nokia were aiming to compete with the likes of the pre, iphone and the various android handsets (not even mentioning windows mobile) rushing out a phone like this was very wide of the mark. Concept wise, the N97 is a great design.. the implementation of both the hardware and software just isn't going to cut it in todays market..
(but this is what they want? you'll get bored with the handset and buy a replacement! yeay!)
