Q10 all of a sudden is rebooting constantly

This happened 18 months ago and my carrier Rogers replaced my unit after 18 months. The same thing is happening again. Initially it would reboot after texts and I have maybe 5 SMS threads on the go. Some have images in the thread. On Saturday I did a complete backup and restore as I did not want to go through the hastle of a factory reset and then setting all my permissions again etc. the behavior still persisted after the re-install Just plugged it in to charge and sync and it rebooted. I do not want to ask for another replacement unit from Rigers as it locks me into a 2 year extension of my contract I believe and caries a minimum $50 fee. Ideas ?

Manual full reconfiguration is the only way to rule that possibility out. I'd suggest a full OS reload and no restore from backup...see if the behavior is cured...if so, then you know it's not a hardware problem, and can continue with putting things back onto the device. If it begins to fail again, then you know the cause...the last thing you put onto the device.wilwoods wrote:

For example, with my Q10, it reboots if I set it onto a table in just the right way...dropping from only a centimeter or so, flat onto it's back. Or setting down onto the table but with a little too much force. It doesn't take much for mine, but that causes a reboot unless I carefully and gently set it onto the table. I have not spent time diagnosing further since my Q10 is not my daily driver. But, the first thing to suspect (if you as well have some consistency to the behavior) is that something is loose inside the device. The only thing you can affect is the battery...so the first try would be cutting a business card to the size of the battery and wedging that between the battery and the back cover of the device. If it's the battery that is slightly loose, this might help it stay in place when the device is jarred. Otherwise, if OS/software has been ruled out as causal, then the problem is something else inside of the device that is loose...and there is nothing more that you can get to in order to try any remedies of your own. Plus which making such an attempt would mean opening the device, which normally would void your warranty, so it's not recommended to try. Good luck and let us know!
