Q10 no longer reminding me about calendar events

I am using a BB Q10 and the calendar app of BB Q10. Since my update to 10.3.1.1565 my BB is not reminding me anymore of any event in my calendar with audio, vibration or LED signal. It only shows me on the screen that the next event is coming up in 15 minutes but there is no other signal. This is kind of weird as I have set everything that it should remind me with all 3 means (audio signal, vibration and LED). This functions well for the emails and also for the text messages. I do not understand why it does not function for the calendar. Any help? Thanks, Ch

  • HT2513 How do I make ical remind me about the events that I have upcoming?

I want ical to tell me when I have an event so I don't forget.

Edit the event info, under reminder, pull down to how much advance warning you would like (e.g. 5 minutes, 2 days, etc...).

  • HT4528 How do I recover my calendar events?  How about downloading audio books?

Since the latest iOS 7 upgrade, I HATE my iPhone!  I was able to recover my contacts.  I was not able to recover my calendar events.
How do I recover my calendar events?
I have an appointment tomorrow & can't remember necessary info!
    How about downloading audio books?
I am not able to download an audio book, which I have done for a very long time w/o issues. Have any suggestions?

When I synced, & recovered the contacts, the calendar recovered events (as current) that I had deleted last winter.
I check out audiobooks from the local library & download them using OneClickDigital Media Manager.  It goes thorugh iTunes to get the book onto my phone.  It shows up pale in iTunes (All other items are in bold print.) & the book does not show up on my phone at all.

    Hi,
To configure your ODBC DataSource, go to Control Panel ---> DataSources(ODBC) (If you are in a Windows environment).
Select the tab System DSN. If you have not added your data source, then do so by clicking on the Add button. If you have added the datasource, click on the Configure button to configure it.
Give the datasource name, then the database name.
You have to give the hostname, service name and server name. I guess, in most cases, the datasource name and host name will be the same, service name and server name will be the same. If you are using TCP/IP, the protocol will be onsoctcp.
There will be a file named Services under C:\WINNT\system32\drivers\etc where you have to give the port number for accessing this server.
It will be like this <service name> <portnumber>/tcp
    Hope this helps...
    best wishes,
    Nish

Thanks for your reply. I did this and the events have not been restored. I am clouding between my iPhone and iPad and changed the settings on both devices. Do I need to power on and off?

  • Create a Reminder from Calendar Event

I am trying to create an applescript application that will automatically create a reminder when triggered by an alert. I want the name of the reminder name to be the same as the name of the calendar event.
This simple applescript will create a new reminder when "opened" by a calendar alert:
    tell application "Reminders"
              make new reminder of list "To Do" with properties {name:"This is the new reminder"}
    end tell
Is there anyway I can get this script to 'get' the name of the calendar event that "opened" it and use that for the reminder name?

You cannot drop something onto an app window that was still in Exposé mode (only window on a dark background). After hovering over the app icon, and when the app window appears in Exposé, hover over that until the app comes into the foreground. Then, you should get a green + badge on the drag icon.
If you start dragging and cmd-tab to Reminders, the window should be an active drop zone immediately.

  • My iphone has calendar history for 10 years.  my icloud only shows about 6-8 weeks back.  how can i get icloud to show all the calendar events in the past that are on iphone?

my iphone has calendar history for 10 years.  my icloud only shows about 6-8 weeks back.  how can i get icloud to show all the calendar events in the past that are on iphone?

I encountered a similar problem when finally (and with much regret) I was obliged to migrate my MobileMe to iCloud last month.
Many years of iCal history vanished without trace during this automated transition by Apple and iCloud then kindly synched the resulting vacuum back to iCal on my Mac.
Fortunately, iCloud wasn’t able to decimate iCal on my other Macs because (1) they are still running Snow and (2) I had switched them off as a precaution.  Good job I did.
My solution was to export my iCal data on one of those other Macs to a backup file – then I imported that backup file into my Lion-updated Mac’s iCal. That restored all the iCloud-deleted iCal data back on to my Mac and this was promptly synched automatically to my Calendar on iCloud.  So now it’s all there and showing.
Perhaps you could do something similar?  In the meantime, be very careful not to let iCloud’s amnesia get synched to your iPhone (and other devices).
Experience has taught me never to trust an “upgrade” until it is proven to be working correctly and always to keep in reserve another Mac with a properly-functioning system and all synching to it switched off...

  • HT4860 Is there a way to link a contact to a reminder or calendar event?

I would like to place a link or in some other way embed contact information in my calendar events and reminders.  Is there a way to do this?  Also is there a way to share reminder lists?  For example the grocery list, or a set of tasks for a project.

You can copy and past information into a calendar event or reminder, but not the contact itself.
You can share reminder lists as explained here: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mm4bb3fa6e.

  • No longer able to drag Outlook emails to Outlook calendar events

I use Outlook 2007 on my PC, and sync it to my iPhone and iPad using iCloud.  I used to be able to drag an email to the notes section of an Outlook calendar event, but it looks like this ability/feature is now gone.  Can I get this feature back? I even tried opening an old Outlook calendar event to which I knew I had dragged-and-dropped an email.  when I opened the event, it momentarily flashed up with the attached email in the event notes section, but then the email disappeared.  Frustrating!  I drag emails to this section so that I have the details of my event linked to the event, and not cluttering up my inbox.

Have you tried clicking "Reset Sync History..." in iSync preferences?
Also, make sure you have at least one 'local' calendar set up in iCal - rather than just 'subscribed' ones.

  • I had two backups listed in the information about my icloud account.  I thought the newest backup would have everything.  Is there any way to retrieve what I deleted?  I lost contacts, calendar events, etc.

I, apparently, mistakenly deleted an older backup to iCloud.  I thought the newest backup would have everything - the original infor + what had been saved recently.  So, I deleted the older backup.  Now it seems that contacts and calendar events have been removed from my phone and MacBook.  Is there any way to retrieve that?
    Thanks.

And actually, no I am not sure  that the contacts aren't being restored, but then overwritten by iCloud because it has more recent data.  I don't know how to find that out.
    Thanks.

  • Receiving a calendar event message from a third party on a BB Z10

I have a BB Z10 on the UK Vodafone network. My Z10 is set to GMT time and correctly shows that I am in the "Dublin, London" time zone. This is the GMT time zone description that all BB devices that I have ever owned have shown.
This afternoon (UK time) i received a calendar event notification from a client who I have since established was at his desk in London when he sent the message advising me of a conference call to take place next week.
The advice on the Z10 has five clear sections: "Status", "Date", a bell symbol to indicate when the reminder will sound, and a fifth symbol indicating the number on which to call in, and the PIN code.
However, and this is my serious problem, there is a third section on the advice which has a globe symbol and appears to exist to indicate where the person setting up the event was located when he/she sent the message. In the specific case of which I write, the message states "This event is displayed in local time, but was created in Reykjavik (GMT) [sic}". The actual message shows the time for the event as one hour later than the actual time that the event is scheduled to take place - in other words GMT + 2 hours - namely the time in continental Europe and Reykjavik.
I have serious issues with this:
    1) Is it the real intention to indicate where the sender of the message was located when the message was sent?
    2) if yes, this is a serious breach of privacy
    3) if yes, the location is wrong, as the person who sent me the message has confirmed that he was at his desk in London
    4) if no what is the purpose in indicating where "the message was created" (BB's words - not mine)
    5) the indicated time of the event is wrong - it has assumed a different time zone than that in which I and the sender are located.
Has anyone else encountered this problem and what has BB got to say about it???
    Thanks

I received the e-mail notification on Microsift Outlook from a third party (i.e. not someone within my own organisation).
The same invite on both my lap-top  computer and my BB 9900 Bold did not have any mention about the sender being in Iceland (or anywhere else!) and showed the correct time and time-zone for the agreed meeting - namely, 8,30am on Friday the 19th April.
I confirm that my Z10 is set to the "Dublin, London (+0)" time zone and is currently showing the correct British Summer Time of 16.31. The device switched automatically to British Summer Time on Sunday 31st March.
    I would welcome your comments.
In every other respect (apart from the infamous Outlook USB synching issue about which I am sure you have heard more than enough!!), the Z10 is an outstanding device and deserves to be the device which at long last wipes the smile off the faces of those equine rumps in Cupertino, California!!
I am expecting the roll-out of the Q10 in the UK in a couple of weeks  - please??!!
Thanks again for your help and assistance

  • Why don't I get reminders/calendar events when Smart Cover closed on ipad3?

I don't quite know why. But when my Smart Cover is on my ipad 3, reminders and calendar events don't make any noise till I open the cover, then I have about 20 items all at once making noise. Is there a way the ipad can make noise when the cover is closed to remind me of events etc?

    Hi,
Based on my research, “\Device\Harddisks” means Disk 2 in Disk Management.
However, it seems that he numbers after DR are just unique random numbers. "DR" is being incremented as you insert new drives (e.g. USB). In these scenario,
it is hard to find the \Device\Harddisk2\DR72.
Did you mean that you have 40TB for disk 2? If yes, it would take a long time to do the scan. However, this may be the unique way to make sure the “\Device\Harddisk2\DR72” can
    be scanned.
    Best regards,
    Susie

  • Calendar events and respective alarms are stored s...

I have some events in Nokia calendar (synced from Outlook, though it's probably doesn't matter), in the form of "meetings" and "to-do's" and they have alarm set for each even to remind me.
Due to some mess, I cleaned Nokia calendar i.e. selected from Options - Delete All Events.
All events were deleted and Calendar become clean. However reminders for those events continue to pop up and remind me about them.
Why it happened, though I cleaned calendar? Are those "reminders" stored somewhere separately by Nokia phones? How can I remove all of them, i.e. all "orphaned" reminders not related to calendar entries?

okey-dokey, and now imagine I have 250 events in calendar
sitting one hour somewhere and changing some of them in such a manner - will make anyone mad... unless he has non-nokia device... mua-ha-ha
Of course it's related to the bug you described (I've encountered it too).
But regarding my initial problem as in header of topic - I'm pretty sure it does exist.
I deleted ALL entries in my Nokia calendar and have been ultimately suprized to hear reminder popping up. I even searched through calendar and alarms to see if anything left by chance. No - both were empty. Presume this bug is somehow related to the second one you described.Message Edited by sidream on 16-Oct-200704:14 PM
