Q10 OS Update 10.2.1.2102 probs???

Hello, just wondering about when opening an email the senders address is only partially revealed (sliced through horizontally in the email itself). And Permissions in the Device Folders wont allow anything to or moved be deleted. Pressing the R key to respond when in SMS doesn't engage. One more, the Automatic Timezone Update doesnt hold for long before it goes to the default capital city of my country, Australia. So will the next Update fix these issues or is it just my Q10, Help!

From what you describe, I would deduce that something went wrong with the OS update, and a full reload would be in order. You can do that either via LINK or via AutoLoader.

I am sick of my Q10 - no update to 10.2, no apps, no point in paying for data

I have a pay-as-you-go plan for my Q10, which includes 6GB and a hotspot. All said and done, I pay $140 per month. I can easily terminate my plan and get a discount on an iPhone at another provider. I do not want to pay $700 for an iPhone.
I originally bought my Blackberry Q10 in August 2013. I really like the interface, certain unique features and especially the physical keyboard. When I bought the phone in August, i received an OS update very quickly, in August 2013! Unfortunately, that was the last update I would ever receive.
My problem with the Q10 is the lack of apps. I FINALLY got Instagram (I downloaded iGrann). And yes - I know that you can get Android apps running on the Q10. But every time that I try, I spend a ton of time searching for advice and the files I need.
And then - I FIND THAT TO DO ANYTHING USEFUL I NEED OS 10.2! Why doesn't the Vine app(Whine) show up in the store? Requires 10.2! Want to easily sideload Android APK's with the Snap app? 10.2! Want to get Snapchat on your phone? 10.2! Want to get an app that requires Google Maps? F*** that, it's not worth the time.
After searching for a long time today, I found that Verizon has released updates for the Z10. Those users are on 10.2. Why not me? I guess there aren't enough Q10 users. If I had been able to find a leaked version of 10.2, I would have tried that. But I'm starting to think that I may never receive an update for this phone. I have been waiting on this for about 6 months now, thinking that any week I'd get an update to 10.2.
I like Blackberry and I'm a developer. I understand the massive challanged associated with developing your own OS and trying to get others to adopt it. I want Blackberry to succeed and if they do, I might try them again in a few years.
I also like Verizon a lot. Good customer service, good network speeds & availability. But I have a hard time understanding why I should stick with this crappy phone for another 18 months.
This really sucks. I'm paying a lot of money and I don't feel like I'm getting the experience I deserve on this phone.

Thank you so much for releasing this update Verizon! That was really fast. This must have been in the works for a few months.
I am much happier with my phone now. I really like some of the UI changes that BB implemented, like the in-app Text notifications.
The upgrade process took a little longer than it should. I think this is because my device is encrypted. It literally took 8 or 9 hours. I would recommend backing up before upgrading.
Once it was installed, I was able to download the Snap client for Android Apps. Snap makes it very, very easy to download new apps quickly.
These apps work really well:
- Snapchat: there's a few notifications saying it requires Play Services, but seems to work well. havent used all the features.
- Duolingo: great for learning Spanish, German, etc. works really well on BB
- Tinder: seems to work
These android apps have a few problems with BB
- Vine: there's no way to complete the signup forms on BB. this may work if you already have a login.
- Spotify: runs slowly on Q10, difficult to log in to this app (i needed to get creative). works alright with downloaded playlists.
Apps i wish i had:
- Secret (iOS only)
- Firechat (iOS only, probably iOS exclusive for a few years)

T-Mobile and BlackBerry Q10 OS updates

Will BlackBerry be providing standalone OS updates for our BlackBerry's? I read an article that BlackBerry ended its contract with T-Mobile for selling it's phones, does this mean we won't be getting the latest updates for our devices? Once 10.3 releases will BlackBerry provide a standalone update for the Q10 and other phones? T-Mobile in my area is fantastic, and I won't go to another brand of phones, but I would still like to get the latest features from future updates.
I know with my old blackBerry Bold 9700 I could download the software from BlackBerry.

T-Mobile would be responsible for supporting any phone bought from them for one year (the one-year warranty) so I'd say you can expect updates from them for another year.

Q10 software update

I recently upgraded the software on my Q10 as it came through on BB notifications
Ever since i have had endless hassles on my Q10. It has to be rebooted about 6 times a day. It hangs for no reason. The BB Hub especially seems to hang between appalications. It will for instance get stuck on text messages. For an hour i wont get message (this is an example) i will then reboot the phone and all of a sudden i will have a whole different lot of meassagesa and emails.
OS version is 10.3.1.2243
Software release 10.3.1.1565
Battery life has gone from 24hrs to about 7 hrs
Please help as I am about ready to throw the phone out the first available window.

At least two updates have been released by BB since the one you unfortunately updated to. If your device/LINK/Update Website is not offering you any further updates, then it is your carrier who is slow to release the update to you...they control this, not BB. But, if you want to jump ahead to what BB has released (with, hopefully, fixes for your issues), you can do so via either Sachesi or AutoLoader.

White calendar background on Q10 since update yesterday

I installed the latest update yesterday. Now, the calendar background color is white and I can't switch to black. Contacts and Phone Apps are still black. White does not only consume more battery but also the contrast with the grey letters is very low. Anyone an advise how to change calender's background color?

There is no official, easy, recommended way to get the dark theme back. The only way I found (and which works for me), is to sideload an old dark themed calendar.
Try looking in the CrackBerry forum how to sideload an app and search there (or via google) for sys.pim.calendar.bar (I found it on mega.co.nz).

Why does my Q10 keeps updating and clearing my phones saved information?

My phone keeps updating to 10.3.2.440 Software even though I have already updated the phone weeks ago. The first issue started with the phone not letting me answer any incoming phone calls. Then I was not able to hang up the phone call. This is still currently going on. I did a Master wipe of the phone and restored it back to the original state in which I received the phone and now the phone keeps updating and it also will not let me change the wallpaper. PLEASE HELP!!! I have never had an issue with an update like this before. If there is no solution i'm just gonna update to a NEW PHONE...

Problems since last update... default browser, scanning probs with Laserjet

This may be general, but I don't have a lot to go on. Also, two issues may or may not be related.
1) Since the last update, which included a firmware update, when I reboot my Mac my net apps (Adium, Firefox, etc) always get taken out of default, and I have to make them default again when I first load them. This is annoying... anyone know how to make this stop?
2) Not sure when this started to happen, so it may have been associated with the update, but my HP Laserjet 3055 will no longer scan documents. Printing, fax, etc., all work. Just can't scan anymore. In fact, in HP Director I can't even get the "Fax" button to activate (it's grayed out now).
Any thoughts are appreciated.

Hi, with regards to #2, I had the same problem after the latest update and the following cured it.
Use the HP uninstaller and delete all HP files, empty trash and restart. Then download and install all needed HP software/files and install. Restart and all should be ok.

I updated to IOS 6.1 no prob, but tried IOS 6.1.1 updt

Updated to IOS 6.1 via iTunes no problem. After backing-up my iPhone again I updated to 6.1.1. Left while the update was installing. When I returned, my phone screen was black with the iTunes symbol at the top of the screen and an image of USB cord below and an upward error btwn the two. I cannot alter or access my phone. It is unusuable.
When connected to iTunes, I receive the message, "iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. You must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes." Elsewhere the error is identified as Error 6. I tried the suggested fix without luck. Cannot back-up from recovery. Directed to restore to default/factory settings. How can I restore from back-up?

I've run into a similar situation with my iPhone as well. I tried to update, but got stuck at the "connect to itunes" screen. When i connect it to my computer though, it doesnt acknowledge that its there at all. I tried the page you recommended stevejobsfan0123, but when i try putting it in recovery mode, i connect it to my computer, but nothing comes up for it, and it doesnt show up as an attached device. Any other suggestions?

Updated info on iTunes vs. iMovie / probs w/importing???

I read the previous posts regarding being unable to import music from iTunes to iMovie... just wondered if anyone had found any other fixes BESIDES burning the songs to CD? I'm working on an end of year movie for my students and the amount of time and hassle that would add makes me want to pull my hair out. Is there anything else anyone's found to address this issue?

Link 1.2.2.13, Q10, and Contacts: Time

Working with a new computer, Win 7. Outlook already installed with all 3,000+ of my contacts. I have about that many also in my phone, but I wish to do a 2 way sync with this new computer to get everything equal. Everything is set up properly, and things go smoothly, up until what appears to be the last step. Now, Link has the blue bar, full and darker like it should, but I've been waiting now 30 minutes for it to go on to the next step. It doesn't give me any info on what it's doing (e.g.. A simple Google search found many people get stuck on the text "Preparing to sync", which I sat at for about 5 minutes), the computer has Link running 2 - 5% of my processing power (compared to 50+% during syncing), and there is no "Next" or "Continue" button. With 3,000+ contacts, do I need to give Link more time to complete, or is there an issue with the software/corrupt contact?
Link is 1.2.2.13. Blackberry is the Q10, fully updated. I miss Link 1.1.*, the user controls are completely different and most help topics don't have the new setup.

I gave up on this version of the LINK software. There is something wrong with it. I got no support from my provider and Blackberry Tech support wanted to charge me for a solution.
I down graded to Link Version 1.2. 1.31 and I have been able to synch my contacts.
I have larned not to update the Link Software when asked to given often it does not work.

Firmware relase of 210.21.006 seems to have stoppe...

Have you noticed that the firmware relase of 210.21.006 stopped. Or seems to have stopped. I am checking the "can-i-update" page with different EMEA codes, and it says the only available firmware is 200.21.118. I tried it with 11 EMEA codes so far.
What I wanted to say is this, except for some EMEA codes for which the update is already available, there are STILL no 006 releases for E71s.
So, if you are interested, you can also check out other EMEA codes for E66. I think, it will be the same for E66; the 007 update will only be available for some code but for majority of other EMEA E66s it will not show.
So, my conclusion is this: there is a serious bug, or some bugs they worked on still remain, and that is why they dont release the 006 (E71) and 007 (E66) firmwares for all EMEAs.
What do you think?

Q10 wi-fi with spinning circle

Since the last major Q10 OS update, my wi-fi is on at home and at public places, but there is a constant spinning circle.

Use Static IP
Copy your iPhone DHCP settings (IP Address, Subnet Mask, Router, DNS) and enter it into your iPad Static page. Turn off your iPhone before you activate the settings on your iPad. Otherwise there will be a IP conflict.
