Q10 Proximity sensor and light sensor

Hello,
I updated my Q10 to .2941 last week or so and since the update both of the sensors stopped working. In fact i tried to check via BBVE and on those two test for these sensors it said cannot obtain data from sensors. This happened after the update and now issue is that I went back to older version, it didnt help, got the latest version via autoloader, still didnt work. I am stuck with this issue and its a meance as everytime i call or get a call my screen does go black as it should and in order to use screen via call, I do need to unlock the device via gesture that is annoying.
I have removed my protector still didnt help.
I am putting phone near my ears yet it doesnt go black.
please someone help me on this one.

When you did the test on BlackBerry Virtual Expert. If there was a connection problem with the sensor(s). BBVE will say it's not available for your device. As it's begun after your update. Try reloading or updating the phone via BlackBerry Link. Don't use autoloader.

  • Proximity sensor and light sensor not working

    Z10STL100-1/10.2.1.2141
My proximity and light sensors are not working. BlackBerry virtual expert can't detect motion in proximity sensor test and not able to handle light dim or high in light sensor.
    What should I do now?
It's very frustrating because I just bought this phone yesterday.

Strange thing happened to me today. When i did security wipe my both sensors started working. Both were working till evening. Then suddenly it stopped working, so what is the problem.?
I am really waiting for solution.

  • Help: z10 stl002 proximity and light sensor issue

Proximity and light sensor not supported message on BBVE, both sensors stop working

I have BlackBerry z10 and I had the same problem ( proximity sensor was not working while being on call) and it started only available the update 10.3.1.1565. Then I noticed that my sensor was working before the update, that meant that hardware was okay. It might be the problem with the update. But I had got a new glass guard for the protection of my phone screen, I thought to remove it and then check. To my surprise, now it is working fine. I suggest you, if you also have some screen guard or glass guard on your phone, remove it and then check if it works. For me it did.

  • Automation using IP cameras, temperature, motion sensor and smoke sensor Using TCP/IP

    Hello people,
    My name is andy.
I have right know a project that i must automation a building using TCP/IP.
This building must have IP cameras, temperature, motion sensor and smoke sensor using the TCP/IP with a Sever.
    My question is ?
what is IP cameras support Labview ?
and what VI i must Use??????
if any person have experience in this area for me is helpful to help me for some idea's.
    please write me
    thank you

    Hi koeyers,
Are your cameras Gigabit Ethernet? If they are, we have some interfaces that you can use as frame grabbers.
    http://sine.ni.com/nips/cds/view/p/lang/es/nid/203245
And you can use our image acquisition driver, NI-IMAQdx, you can download our driver for a 30 days free trial.
    http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/view/p/id/960/lang/es
NI-IMAQdx installs LabVIEW VI’s that calls the NI-IMAQdx driver to control you camera, example files are install with the driver too!
If you are not using Gigabit Ethernet, you will need to use the driver that ships with the camera. Do you have the data sheet of the camera you are using? Or are you starting to look for cameras?
If you are looking for cameras this is a good link that will help you find cameras that are supported by our drivers:
    http://sine.ni.com/apps/utf8/nipc.specs?action=search&asid=1102
Some IP cameras (not Gibabit Ethernet) have ActiveX calls to control them, and LabVIEW can make those ActiveX calls, you just need to have the documentation of those calls that must come with the camera. Other cameras might have DLL’s and you’ll have to make calls to those DLL’s from LabVIEW.
They are more difficult to program that Gigabit Ethernet because they are not a standard, and National Instruments doesn’t have a specific driver for them, but we can make calls to the specific driver of the camera.
Later, if you want to process the images, then you will be interested in NI Vision:
    http://www.ni.com/vision/vdm.htm
Please let me know if this helps you or you need more information.

  • Two VI merging (a Temperature PID and Light sensor detecting) plz help

    Hi,
my goal is to get the data from the light sensing detectors and also to control the Temperature too.
So I designed a VI named Light detecting "sensor and data storage.vi" but the problem was temperature controlling.
as in this VI I can not set the temperature which I want.
So I made another VI named "temperature control PID.vi", and now I can control the temperature through the thermocouple.
But again the problem is that I can not run Both the VIs at the same time.
and when I try to run both the VIs at same time, the following error appears,
and I think, it is because that both the VIs has the settings for same thermocouple and can not acquire the data (teperature) at the same time.
So I want to remove the thermocouple settings from the "Light detecting sensor and data storage.vi" and want to put the " temperature control PID.vi" into it.
I am uploading both the VIs, If anyone can solve it, His work will be appreciated.
    Attachments:
Light detecting sensor and data storage.vi ‏190 KB
    temperature control PID.vi ‏140 KB

    Hi,
I mean to say that from the first VI, i m getting the signals from detectors and it also shows me the temperature. but from this VI, I can not set the temperature of the heater.
thats why I made another VI <the second one in attached files> by which I can control the temperature.
but both the VIs are not working simultaneously.
so plz delete the temperature settings from the first VI and put the second VI into it.
    thanks.

  • Passport - Proximity and Light sensors 'unavailable '

It's 3 days with the Passport and I am getting disillusioned like rolling down the cliff.
    1) The Proximity sensor dosent work and the phone screen goes blank after a call is over until I hit the lock button.
    2) The keyboard dosent light up even in pitch dark. The BBVI indicates unavailable sensors.
    3) Data transfer from my q10 to Passport via BlackBerry link was garbled and contacts do not show up correctly.
    4) if I go to contacts and hit search, there is an inordinate delay, the results are shown after a while.
I think my Q10 was far better than the Passport.
Need help to rectify these issues.
Is it the new software update which could have done the damage?
    Solved!

    Hi @brownhawk
Regarding issues 1 and 2, if you restart your device you should see the sensors function as expected.
For more details check out the following KB > KB36375 The BlackBerry Passport Sensors are no longer communicating with the BlackBerry 10 software
For the contacts issue, can you expand on your statement about them be garbled and not showing up correctly?
How many contacts do you have as well? To find out, open the Contacts app, tap and hold on the first contact and pull down slightly and you'll see a total contacts number appear. Thanks!

  • Proximity and light sensor not working

I've been experiencing some problems with the proximity sensors of my Z10 STL2; not sure if it's a coincidence (after the latest backup) but the sensor sometimes fails and I have to reboot the device. After the reboot it stays ok for a while but 30 min it fails again.
Wright now it stopped working completely. What should I do?
    Thanks!

  • Nike + wireless sensor and shoe sensor

does anyone know how long the battery on the sensor lasts for and when it does run out can you place it or do you have to spend £19.99 for a new Nike + pack.
whats the best way to maintain the battery on the sensor as well as it doesnt say on the booklet or online.
    thanks runners

The battery is rated to last about 1,000 hours when the kit is in use. (Most of the time, the kit will be idle, at which time the drain on the battery is negligible.)
If there will be long periods between your runs (several days or weeks), you can put the sensor to sleep. To do that, following the instructions here:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=303934#faq10
The battery is not replaceable, so you'll have to buy a new kit when the current sensor's battery finally dies. But presume you run an hour a day, every day. The means you will get about 2 and half years out of the battery before it dies. At £19.99, the cost to you is only about £0.019 per day! Not a bad little investment!

    @daltzi
I agree with @darp   I haven't been able to recreate your issue, it could be that an app it's creating this issue, @SomeQuickAdvice boot on safe mode and run diagnostics again or repair your phone with PCC
    PC Companion (PCC)
    Bridge (for Mac)

  • What is the extra slot at the top of the white phone? Is it the proximity sensor and just shows thru the white face?

What is the extra slot at the top of the white phone? Is it the proximity sensor and just shows thru the white face?

Perhaps I used that screen name 18 months ago before the iPhone 4 came out and just forgot it. It does show my email address in the profile. I kind a like it so I'll keeping using it. What 18 months can do for your mind.

  • I just bought a new iPhone 5 today and the Ambient light sensor is not working. What can i do?

I just bought a new iPhone 5 today and the Ambient light sensor is not working. What can i do?

Ambient light sensors are not always perfect in their function. To test, go into darkened room, with screen OFF, Locked, tap Home button. Look at screen it should be normal for use in darkened room, turn on bright lights, the screen should brighten to help compensate. If your iPhone does not do this, then Restore iPhone with current iTunes on your computer. See if better. If still problem, make Genius reservation or set up Service and take or send to Apple for resolution under Warranty.

  • Proximity sensor AND lock button NOT working on iPhone 4

My iPhone 4's lock button is all of a sudden stuck. Along with it, the proximity sensor has stopped working and, consequently, the screen stays on during calls, so I keep hanging up or starting FaceTime through my face. Is this one single problem or two seperate ones? Someone told me that the flex cable connecting the button and the sensor is the same, so the problem is actually one. My iPhone, having been purchased in early 2011, is no longer covered by warranty, so I will have to pay for the repair myself.

Well, theres nothing you can do yourself to resolve this issue.
assuming there is no physical damage or water damage, your warranty should cover this at an apple retail store.
in the meantime, look into assistivetouch.

  • I have a new 27"ACD connected to a 27" iMac (2010) and cannot control brightness on the ACD. Also, the option to turn off the ambient light sensor is not available. Tanks for any help.

I have connected a new 27"ACD to a 27" iMac (2010) and cannot independently adjust brightness on the external display. Also, the option for turning off the ambient light sensor is not available. The iMac has the latest updates according to Apple messages. Any help will be appreciated.

No, Detect Displays had no effect. However, I made the USB connection from the ACD to the iMac after the system was on. Following a re-start, all controls are available. Thank you for your response.
