Q10 sync queries - calendar only

Trying to use the q10 more efficiently...:
Is it possible to sync only/only the calendar or only/only contacts, but not both at the same time?
With the old Curve, I was able to select to sync only the calendar or only the contacts but BB Link seems to force us to sync both calendar and contacts.  I want to be able to choose to sync only the calendar.  Grateful if someone could tell me what I am missing ....

Manually sync your contacts
Depending on your wireless service provider, this feature might not be available.
On your computer, open BlackBerry Link.
At the side of the BlackBerry Link window, click your device.
Click Contacts/Calendar.
If this is the first time you have connected your device to BlackBerry Link, click Configure to select the Microsoft Outlook account you want to sync with.
Select the Contacts checkbox.
Click Configure and select your sync preferences from the drop-down menus.
If you want to sync additional folders, click the Add Folder icon.
Click OK.
Click Sync Contacts/Calendar.
To see a summary of what was synced, at the bottom of the window, click Show Recent Activity.

  • Syncing Contacts/Calendar Only

    Hello
I just received the new 6 Plus and want to set up as new, instead from back up.
Is there a way to only restore contacts and calendar ? Or do i need to manually reinstall all my contacts and calendar info.
    Thank you

If you synced your contacts and calendar to iCloud you can set up your new phone as new and then go to Settings > iCloud and turn on Contacts and Calendars to sync.
If you synced them to your computer via iTunes, the following may help: iTunes 11 for Windows: Sync contacts, calendars, and other info with iPod, iPhone, or iPad
If you only have a backup to iTunes or iCloud, the restore from those backups is all or nothing.

  • 2 way sync - but calendar only one way?

    Hi!
I've just performed the first 2 way sync between my Outlook 2007 and my Z10. Surprisingly my contacts have not doubled up - which is good. But regarding the calendar the sync worked from my Outlook to my Z10 but the items on my Z10 were not added to my Outlook. Obviously I've missed something - or it's not really a 2 way sync????
    Solved!

    Hello nmbpc,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community.
Thank you for your question regarding one way Calendar synchronization on your BlackBerry Z10 smartphone.
Which version of BlackBerry Link are you using currently and which version of BlackBerry Device Software do you have installed under Settings - About?

  • How to sync Q10 with outlook calendar through the cloud on a remote laptop

Hello all, I took delivery of a new work mobile today (BB Q10). All set up with my work email installed. Told I can set up to have my work calendar on it as well - great. Got home, installed latest version of BB Link on my laptop (C Drive), connected the device via USB and got stuck.
It appears to be only willing to sync with a local (C Drive) version of Outlook which was set up for my personal email account (Gmail) That is not the one I want. I want the work one in the cloud. We log in to the whole MS Office 2007 package via the cloud using a Citrix app.
I know it can be done as a colleague already uses it successfully but he does not work local to me and neither of us are particularly computer savvy.
Can anybody help please. The only bits I want are the actual calendar, no contacts etc.
    Thanks
    Dave

I wish that would work for me. I had used BB devices for years until my work took them away and gave me a Samsung Galaxy 4S. I'd been using that for the last 3-4 months, but I just hated it so I went on eBay and bought myself a new Q10. I used device switch and everything moved over except my weekend work schedules. All my other appointments moved over, so I'm not sure why that didn't. I've tried almost everything. The old BB Desktop software used to work great, but now we have to use BB Link, and there is no option for me to sync my calendar from my home iMac, or my work PC laptop.....very frustrating! I should not have to enter it all again manually. I really like the phone, but I can't figure out why BB Link is so limited. There should be an option built in to sync appointments from a Mac or a PC.

  • I have a personal email calendar kept on Outlook, I also have an Exchange calender on outlook.  I want to sync both calendars with my Iphone 5 /6.1.2  but ITunes only sees the exchange calendar. How can I get Itunes to see both calendars

I have a personal email calendar kept on Outlook 2010, I also have an Exchange calender on Outlook.  I want to sync both calendars with my Iphone 5 / 6.1.2  but ITunes only sees the exchange calendar.
How can I get Itunes to see both calendars?

    Hi,
you don't need MobileMe or anything fancy. I personally sync my Outlook calendar and my Outlook address book with three computers (two at the office and one at home)and besides I run Office 2003 on one, Office 2007 on the other and Office 2010 on the third, so it can't get more complicated than that, but it works 100%.
First sync Outlook with iTunes on one computer, having done that when you try to sync it to another machine, iTunes will recognize that it is synced with another computer and ask you if you want to merge the data, say yes, That's all there is to it.
It does not work for music as you rightly say but as far as Calendars and Contacts are concerned it's flawless and transparent.
If you hit a snag talk back to me.
    Cheers.

  • When syncing my iphone i get a msg, "itunes could not sync calendars to the iphone because an error occurred while merging data"   I sync my calendar to outlook.  My iphone calendar has all and the most updated information.  Outlook shows only recurringMY

I'm at a loss as to what to do. Any help is appreciated.  When syncing my iphone I get an message, "itunes could not sync calendars to the iphone because an error ocurred while merging data" I sync my calendar to outlook.  My iphone calendar has all and the most updated information.  Outlook calendar only shows my recurring events.

    hi there,
i've found a great & simple solution for this problem
just open your iCloud acc on iPhone
turn off calendars (it wil ask you to keep info or not - KEEP IT!)
    and turn back on (MERGE!)
    now SYNC it..
    and that's it
PS in my case it was contacts so the procedure is the same..

  • Can I exclude photos on my iPhone from being sent to iCloud and how?  My goal is to only sync my calendar to the iCloud and exclude everything else.  This way I don't have to pay for more space.

My goal is to only sync my calendar to iCloud and exclude everything else.  This way I don't have to pay for more space.

    Hey Murphie,
I don't pay for more space and I'm backing up two devices to iCloud, a 32G ipad and a 16G phone.
However, you can merely chose NOT to backup to iCloud. Then you won't run out of space. Items synced to iCloud do not take up your backup space.
Now, you WILL have to back up to your computer via iTunes the old fashioned way, or risk losing valuable data. Your choice.
However, if you manage your data responsibility, you won't run out of your 5G of storage on your iCloud backup from normal use.
    Good luck

  • Contacts & Calendars only sync from my work location

My iPhone syncs contacts & Calendar with my PC when my laptop is at my office - when I leave the office it will not sync at all. Any ideas?

Sorry - I have not used chat before - I'll try to be more specific here. I use a laptop for everything - I don't have a desktop computer, so my laptop comes with me back & forth to home, trips, etc. I use MobileMe to sync between my laptop & iPhone. Calendar & Contact entries sync instantly when I am at my office (my laptop is in a docking station, but I don't think that has anything to do with this problem). BUT, when I leave my office, NOTHING will sync. Two examples: 1) If I leave the office for a meeting or lunch and my laptop stays at the office, calendar & contacts won't sync w/ my iPhone. 2) If I go home & have my laptop with me, nothing syncs.
One theory proposed by one of my friends is that the wireless router in our office somehow automatically connected with MobileMe when we first set up my iPhone, and MobleMe will only communicate through that router. If that is true, I don't have a clue how I can change that.
I hope this is a little more descriptive of the issue. Thanx for staying with me on this!

  • CalDAV calendars sync as read-only

    Hi!
I have a CalDAV calendar in iCal (Leopard 10.5.4) and can read-write-delete in iCal just fine. It syncs over to my iPod Touch, but as a read-only calendar--as if it were something I subscribed to. Is there a way around this? I imagine the same thing would happen on an iPhone.
    Thanks!
    Corey

Not to get off topic--but let's keep this to syncing CalDAV calendars to the iPod Touch and not a wish list of other features.
I'm still trying to find out if this is possible--having a CalDAV calendar sync to the iPod Touch as a read-write calendar.
Anyone else with some relevant feedback?
    Thanks!

  • My iTunes only syncs my calendar and contacts on the second sync, why?

When I sync my Outlook Calendar and Contacts with iTunes, I noticed the first sync does the backup but doesn't sync the calendar and contacts. I need to click sync a second time and then it syncs my calendar and contacts. How do I set it up where it syncs everything including cal/contacts on the first sync?
Second Question: From when I had MM, I noticed it shows Work, Home, and Calendar under my Calendar. I want to consolidate and only have Calendar. Is there a way to consolidate all 3 and delete Home and Work?

  • Icloud 3.1 calendar only sync

    Hi,
I just upgraded from icloud 1 to icloud 3.1 - and it seems I can no longer fine tune what I want to sync.
I only want to sync my calendars from outlook to icloud (and vice versa) - however I do not want to sync contacts / tasks.
Does anyone know how this is achieved?
    Thanks,
    Mike

Same here. I don't mind having my personal appts in the company outlook calendar, but do not want my email sitting in Outlook and on the the company servers.

  • Calendar only syncs after aug. 15th

My iphone has suddenly stopped syncing any of my icloud calenders prior to August 15th 2012. I tried deleting the icloud account and re adding, and tried deleting and adding the events and nothing before August 15th, 2012 will sync. The only calender that will sync prior to the date is the "Birthday" calendar. So weird right? It used to work fine. Any ideas???

Go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars...scroll down to the Calendars section and tap Sync.  Here set it to a longer time period (it's probably only set to Events 1 Month Back now).

  • ITunes not syncing Outlook calendar. Only gives option of iCal which I don't use.

I just bought a new iMac and I'm trying to sync my iPhone with the iMac. I have Microsoft Outlook as my main calendar keeper. iTunes is not pointing to Oulook to sync the calendar. It wants to sync with iCal which I don't use. Can I sync Microsoft Outlook on my iPhone? I used to be able to do it on my PC.

I don't see at iTM slider at all - just the subscribe loop.  Frustrating.
In your case you need to log out of the iTunes Store, restart your iOS device, then log in to the store again.

  • Can't sync Outlook Calendar

My e-mail works just fine, but my calendar doesn't sync. When I go to the menu in the e-mail application on my phone, and go to preferences, under AutoSync, the only option I have is "Sync: Mail" and I think it's supposed to have checkboxes for contacts and calendar as well.  But, mine doesn't give me the choices.  When I connect my Centro to my computer, it performs a HotSync, but the only thing that shows up on my PalmDesktop is photos off of my phone.  I've checked the settings and it should be syncing my calendar and memos and whatnot from Outlook!  Help?
    Thanks

This was the sync that didn't sync my calendar. I did this one after removing my PalmDesktop from my computer and rebooting, then re-installing. My calendar still wouldn't sync so I posted on this forum. Then I went to bed, re-synced this morning and it worked. The working sync is shown at the very bottom of the page. Any idea why it suddenly worked?

  • Disappearing Contacts, Mobile Me Sync Issues, Calendar crash-Answers??

I'll try to keep this post brief but hopefully it will help provide some possible answers for frustrated users experiencing the random complete wipe out of all contacts and calendar data when syncing with mobile me using either push or fetch. After several weeks of experiencing these random sync issues and spending several hours over several days between tech support calls with iPhone then Mobile Me support and then finally a genius bar appointment where the genius said he didn't have a clue and simply offered to replace my phone.
The next morning, SAME PROBLEMS... and through it all NO ONE could tell me why my sync was so randomly unreliable. Every other day for no apparent reason, my phone would suddenly lose all contacts and/or calendar data. (A few thousand contacts and two years of calendar data). It was both frustrating and strange—even stranger that Apple techs had no clue why and seemed to think no one else was having this issue.
I tried everything - complete restores, resets, deleting and re-adding the mobileme account, etc., etc., etc. One tech support person finally said, "good luck..." The others kept handing me off the higher levels of support... until finally they just said "we don't know why this is happening." I was waiting for someone to just say, "Look, we have issues with mobile me, so hang in there and eventually it will work." I can be patient and I still think the iphone is the greatest invention in recent years. But everybody I talked with at Apple seemed to think this should be working flawlessly.
I also started having a crash on the calendar anytime I tried to see the list view for "all calendars." This was frustrating because that's the best feature of the calendar app!
I was prepared to just return to syncing with my computer and wait for the software to improve between the phone and mobile me. Finally, last night I tried a few things that seem to be working... and for the first full day, mobile me is actually useful to me today. (my fingers are crossed!)
    Here's what I did.
    1. I minimized the number of calendars I was syncing - I have no idea if this affected the sync, but I was syncing eight calendars, now I'm down to four. (You can easily export a calendar and import those events back into a different calendar.)
    2. I did a complete restore of the phone (not from a back up) and the VERY FIRST THING, I added mobile me and synced only the calendar (set to push.) This cleared up the random calendar crash in list view and also mobile me was pushing data rather reliably. After a few moments my entire calendar was on the phone and worked perfectly. New events were transferred quickly back and forth.
    3. I then chose to sync my contacts through the computer rather than over the air. I fear that the contact sync was somehow messing up the whole communication process between the phone and the cloud. Someone suggested that the number of "groups" in contacts might have an impact on the sync issues as well. I didn't need my contacts to sync with the urgency of "push" so this works for me. Plus I have a lot of contacts and it's just faster over the cable.
    4. I then GREATLY reduced the number of apps on my phone. I originally had about 27 and I only reinstalled 9 of them. I did this ONE AT A TIME - starting with the most necessary and useful... and after each install, I checked the functionality of the calendar and mobile me. No problems. Perhaps I was having an app conflict?
    5. Then I reinstalled the rest of my content - music, podcasts, photos. Still no problems.
ONE of these steps actually worked, and I'm not sure which one. My guess is that one or more of my apps was conflicting in some way. OR possibly something with the contact sync... but for the last 24 hours the mobile me calendar sync using push has been consistently reliable and useful. (for the record, mobile me email has always worked perfectly for me.)
No one with tech support ever suggested to me that I could be having an application conflict or any other problems with calendars or contact groups, etc. I've spent many hours on this the past few weeks... and for the first time, my iphone seems to be working with mobile me correctly.
In reading many of these posts, it seems a lot of others are having similar problems... so hopefully these suggestions might be helpful. If you have any thoughts as to which of these solutions was the correct one, I would be interested in hearing your opinion.
    Thanks!

Are your Address Book contacts and iCal calendars/calendar events on your Mac synced with your MobileMe online address book and calendar?
When you say this data is not synced with your iPhone, none of your MobileMe online data is transferred to your iPhone, or after the initial transfer of this data to your iPhone when you first turned contacts and calendars for over the air syncing with your MobileMe account on your iPhone, the data is not kept synchronized with the MobileMe "cloud"?
