Q10 Text Messages app behaves weird

Hi,
After I ugraded to the latest OS 10.2, the Text Messages app in my Q10 has gone crazy. Although the conversation updates smoother than it used to do before but I have noticed that when a conversation is updating quickly and there are messages coming in quick, the whole conversation goes blank and it gets stuck in that same conversation. Even when I close the editor and open it again, I get to the same conversation everytime when I try to write a new message but I cant write anything. The only key that works on that stuck conversation screen is that "Previous Screen" key at the bottom left. The only solution is that I have to restart my device to make it work right again. That is so annoying!
Another thing is when I am texting fast and keep writing separate texts in a conversation, what happens is that the last word of the last sent message stays and copies itself to the editor field. I have to erase it and then write the new message. Never seen this thing before in Bold 9790.
Am I the only one with this weird problem?

I was having the same problem, now my entire text messaging app is gone. It is still on the home screen, but when I click on it, it sends me straight to the hub, and if I swipe left and go to the hub, I don't have text messages on the left column, so I can not access them at all anymore.
Do a simple reboot on the BlackBerry in this manner: With the BlackBerry device POWERED ON, remove the battery for a minute, and then reinsert the battery to reboot.

  • My text messaging app is not working PLEASE HELP!!!

My text messaging app is not working at all is a blank screen when I open it! Help!!!

No its a well known bug with iphones caused by their over complication of things and their complacency that their users will buy the phones on looks alone irrespective of its basic functionality.
Suggestion 1 - The most common suggested solution seems to be: iMessage needs switched off on all your devices and switched back on after a rest. I found that this did NOT work.
Suggestion 2 - Having a Wi Fi Signal seems to confuse iMessage to send an SMS as a text or as an iMessage. Turn off WiFi on your phone and manually send as text message. Slow, I lnow!!
Suggestion 3 - Move away from any wifi source ie out of range.
Suggestion 4 - Send an email, or a letter. Its more personal!!
20 Minutes later - still not sent 2 short texts.
Apple are very complacent and disdainful of their user community. Not what Id expect but this is a global corporation with the same business ethics as an Oil company or a car company. Profit not function.

  • I sure hope that the new imessenger doesn't look like the text messaging app, that would be a huge flop for apple. It has to look and feel like bbm or it will just suck.

I sure hope that the new imessenger doesn't look like the current text messaging app, that would be a huge flop. I think I should look and feel like the bbm to make any kind of significant impact. Am I wrong?

"iMessage in iOS 5 brings the functionality of iPhone messaging to all of your iOS devices―iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. Built right into the Messages app, iMessage allows you to easily send text messages, photos, videos or contact information to a person or a group on other iOS 5 devices over Wi-Fi or 3G. iMessages are automatically pushed to all your iOS 5 devices, making it easy to maintain one conversation across your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. iMessage also features delivery and read receipts, typing indication and secure end-to-end encryption."
That is from the Apple site. If all your friends have an iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad you cang share with your friends, with is exactly like BlackBerry Messenger (BBM only works on BBs).
And it does look just like the current message format. You can also find that at www.Apple.com

  • Is there any way to receive Google Talk messages in the iPhone Messages (meaning the text messaging app)?

I want to know if there's any way to receive incoming Google Talk messages in the iPhone Messages app? What I mean by this is the app your receive text messages in. The reason I ask is because in the new "Messages" app for the Mac, you can include your Google Talk account.

If I recall correctly, it's possible to send a Google Talk message out as an SMS (though there are apparently limits on how many in a given time period in order to prevent spam). That would be the only way as far as I know. Messages on the Mac seems to have folded some of iChat's features into it, so it works a bit differently.
    Best of luck.

    Relaunch
    2. Reset: Hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons until the screen goes dark and the Apple logo appears

  • Is there any way to determine what device text messages are sent from? Do free text messaging apps relate to the apple ID, or the iPod?

My son had a friend give him his apple ID username and password, and downloaded a texting app. Now, some text messages were sent, and they are both denying it.  Is there any way to know if the text messages came from my son's iPod? The app and texts are deleted, so I can't look at a history to see who typed them.

  • How can I change themes (colors for text message app, calendar app, etc) ???

Is there a way to change the colors of the calendar, text messaging bubbles, etc. ?
If NOT, which app is the best one for that purpose ?

This kind of theming is not quite with us yet for BB10.
10.3 adds new colouring schemes so there is a possibility it may be with us soon.
If you've been helped click on , if you've been saved buy the app.

  • Free text message apps

I just want to confirm: The apps to send text messages for free are really just e-mail apps. They will only go as fast as e-mail can carry them, and when I get the response, my phone won't ding (I use the bell sound) like it does when I get a real text message, correct?
If you want real text messaging, you have to pay, correct?
    Thanks!

The free SMS apps use email, yes. In fact, behind the scenes, 'real' SMS is also using email (when sent between carriers, at least).
As for how you receive a reply, that depends on the app. If the app is one where you put in your number as the sender, and the other person replies to your message, then it comes in as an SMS to your iPhone (with the bell sound). In that case, you'd be charged for receiving the reply, but not for sending the original message.

  • Text Messaging App

I have this phone and went to the Iphone 5 (my battery is horrible) maybe going back to my Maxx if the replacement phone does the same thing.  Is there an app that allows you to have different sounds for incoming text messages from different people?   I know the Iphone does.  If so, what is it called?
    Thanks

    Thanks.
Do you know what it's called?  I tried to look online and couldn't find one.
1 of them is GO SMS Pro. "GO SMS Pro deeply supports personalized settings, includs notification(icons, ringtones, LED light, vibration), SMS signature, interview background settings, etc"
I used it for a while, not sure why I went away from it.. It is a pretty good app, it will even back up your text messages for you.

  • Can I send an email from the text message app?

Can a text message be addressed to an e-mail address and sent there? (IPhone 5, ios7)

    OK....
Problem is, the message goes through as a text message to the recipients phone. It doesn't appear that it actually goes to their email account? Am I missing something?

  • I cannot open my text messaging app on iPhone 4. Help please??

It shows I have 2 text messages, but when I tap on the Messages icon, it is just blank for about 10-15 seconds & then just goes back to the home screen.  Anybody know how to fix this?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

Before restoring the iPhone, i auggest you try this:
Go to Settings-> iMessage and turn iMessage OFF.  Then power off your iPhone, wait a little while and power it back on again.  Go to Settings ->iMessage and turn it back ON.
This worked on my husband's phone when something similar happened a few days ago.

  • How to fix iOS 8.3 text message app issue?

I cannot delete old text messages ever since I updated to the new iOS 8.3. Whenever I try to delete them my screen freezes and deletes everything. I have to do a hard restart and it brings everything back that was there before the update. If I go back into my messages it comes up as if i had none and I can't send or receive any so I am forced to restart the phone. Is there a solution to this?

  • Text messaging app keeps adding a "1" to the front of LOCAL 10 digit phone numbers.

this generates an error message. Local calls require 10 digits in this area code.

Sorry I didn't get back sooner. I've been sick with the flu.
As for the screen shot.... no. It would have the number of the person I was texting and I'm not going to post that online.
I've tried two different people and the results are always the same. Telephone function works, I can make and receive calls by selecting that contact. 3G data works, I can browse web. The contact is stored on the sim card. The carrier is net10 (who in this case uses ATT). The same card and contact work fine with my old phone, an LG optimus one.
However when I select a contact and press the text symbol I get the following message. (with “x” substituted for the phone number):
“1xxxxxxxxxx error invalid number. Please resend using a valid 10 digit mobile number or valid short code.”
Of course that 10 digit number work fine if it is a phone call so it is a valid number
Because the number of people in our area code is so large, all local phone calls use 10 digits.
I even upgraded to version v1.0.0B02 no positive effect.

  • App for separate text messages with one phone number

Is there an app for iphone that would enable incoming text messages from specific numbers to be diverted to a separate app than the text message app?
In other words, like a separate inbox that could be kept "hidden" on one's phone but with one number.
Or instead of having the text message on the phone, a website where messages could be viewed from the phone on line?

No app that I know of, however text message is a carrier feature - contact your cell phone provider.
