SU01，GUI(Ctrl+F8)->properties->Specifications，RSPRIPARADMIN
RSPRIPARADMIN的设置针对所有用户，但是只能对指定的程序有有效。
GUI(Ctrl+F8)->properties->Specifications的设置只能对当前用户有效，但是可以选者对某一个程序有效，还是对所有的程序
都有效。
SU01的设置比较简单，只能对打印设备和即时印刷进行设置

setSize(...), if used, should only be used on top level containers (JDialog, JFrame...).
For all other components you should be using setPreferredSize(...). The LayoutManager will use the preferred size and position components and resize components accordingly. Therefore, the size of the component may be overridden by the LayoutManager.

Disable GUI/SSH Login for specific users

I have two groups,
sshonly
guionly
As the name suggestes i want only ssh login permitted to the first group of users and only gui login permitted to the next group of users.
Is it possible?

Ok Solved it. This is what i did.
Create a user with "standard" previlage not "sharing only"
Because "sharing only" user has no shell or no home directory. You need both of that for ssh login.
To Enable sshSelect the user/group in remote access option system preferences -> sharing
To Disable sshDont select the user
To Enable GUI LoginDefault enabled, so dont have to do anything again
To Disable GUI Login

Disable all the user with userid less than 500 to not have a gui login, this is the command for that
$ sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/com.apple.loginwindow Hide500Users -bool TRUE
Or else add specific users to the hiddenuser list, i prefer this one, because we don't have to change the user id just for this.
$ sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/com.apple.loginwindow HiddenUsersList -array $USERNAME
And finally remove the other option from the login window
$ sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/com.apple.loginwindow SHOWOTHERUSERS_MANAGED -bool FALSE

GUI graphical objects properties

I want to develop a GUI for an RF switching network where the user see a diagram of the actual network. I did something similar before but I was using a pdf of an autocad drawing of the network where I placed custom controls to represent the switches (see the attached front panel picture). By clicking on the switch it was changing position. Note that the switching network to be developped is a lot more bigger that the one showed. The GUI will be a top level diagram and by clicking on some section the detail of these sections will open and that's where the user will set the switches
Now I would like the created path to change color to better see it. Is there a graphical application I could use where the line objects have properties that can be changed in LabVIEW? Or is there a way to do it in LabVIEW?

Have you reviewed the examples we have linked into the Picture Control thread located in the Breakpoint?
THe center portion of the GUI shown in these two images was rendered using a Picture.
and the same with 6 cells used and gas routed thru some cells.
and for my model railroad I developed this interface so I can see which blocks are allocated to which cab control.

Acrobat Properties - How can I set a default group of properties?

I have been unable to determine how to create a default set of properties. Every time I create a pdf, I have to go into the properties and set the document to open with a set of properties specific to my needs. It requires me to change the Description and all of the settings in Initial View and Security. Surely I can do this once and save it as a default. Can anyone advise?

Set the defaults in the printer properties. Not within a program as they only change for that use of the program, but in the properties of the printer (Start>Printers> right click on your printer and select properties). Some properties can be set in Distiller, but generally the printer properties overrides the choices in Distiller.
I am not sure if there is any other way to make the PDF Maker selections stick - they may be kept according to the preferences set within the application, but I am not sure (I don't use PDF Maker much).

Acrobat X Pro Ctrl E option for Edit Document Text tool

Hi,
When I use the "Edit Document Text" tool (formerly TouchUp Text) in Adobe X Pro and press Ctrl E, it's saying "Properties No current selection".
However, pressing Ctrl E on other tools such as Comments, Link etc, the Properties toolbar is showing properly. And when I switch back into using the "Edit Document Text" tool, the Properties toolbar will show as grayed out.
I tried using Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro and it's doing the same thing.
Is the Ctrl E Properties toolbar is not really available for "Edit Document Text" tool? Do I really have to right click on the area and choose Properties?

How to add encoding to mq.properties

We are receiving an error in our log files about an encoding piece missing, "X-ORACLE-EL8EBCDIC423R is missing in mq.properties file. Please make sure that the entry for this encoding is present in mq.properties file". The question is, how do we add this to the mq.properties, specifically what format? Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advanced.

Set the "clientEncoding" attribute as UTF8 in the outbound connection pool of your MQ adapter and update the adapter after making the change. Test again after this.

GUI status local/global

Is gui status that is created by us for a particular program is local for that progam or it is global, so that we can use it in other programs.

GUI STATUS are screen specific, different for each screen. If u want to use same in other prg then copy gui status to that program in se80-gui status-status name - right click -copy.

Is it at all possible to apply something like: putClientProperty to the entire GUI rather then a specific object?
I dislike the java style, and prefer to have my layout as the windows style, but don't know how to do this rather then setting each gui element to windows style...

Setting RMI properties in app module

Howdy all,
How does one define java system properties, specifically some
RMI properties, to be accessible by an application module? I
tried putting them in the
appmodule_package_AppModuleName.properties
file, but that didn't work. I need to set some basic RMI app
properties so that my app module can act as an RMI client.
I also need to set a security policy file for my app module.
If anyone has any idea how to accomplish these things, let me

Basically designing a GUI we use .properties file in java to save the language resources.
But can it will be possible to save the language resource in the database instead of .properties file and show the GUI in different languages by getting value from the databse.

Sure. In fact, you could probably extend the Properties class to get the values from the database. That way the code that uses the properties wouldn't know the difference and wouldn't have to be changed.

After upgrading to APEX 4.1 the database management GUI has been removed

I've succesfully upgrated to APEX 4.1 on my database 10gXE
The only problem is that now the database management GUI (Usage Monitor section) has been removed from APEX and I'd like to keep on dealing with DBA activities as before. How is it possibile? Now can I handle DBA activities only by using SQL*Plus and SQL Developer?

Hello Mark,
unfortunately, that management GUI is an XE specific application build into the APEX version that shipped with XE. So basically, what you experience is correct: After an APEX upgrade, you can't use it anymore, because the "generic" APEX versions are not branded for XE.
There is a theoretic possibility of using the command line exporter to export that management application from the old APEX instance before upgrading (or using a different XE instance that still has it) and import it to the upgraded APEX instance. But I would not recommend to do that, as APEX itself has changed a lot from the 2.2-branch that XE 10.2 shipped with to the 4.1 you use now. This can cause severe issues when using that application in 4.1, especially concerning the APEX management part of that application.
Now can I handle DBA activities only by using SQL*Plus and SQL Developer?I'd recommend that. And I really think SQL Developer has become very handy for that purpose compared with the version that was out when XE 10.2 was released...

My FF 4.0.1 will not complete the opening of new tabs e.g. a specific account statement while at a banking site. The tab stops with "About Blank" in the location line. What can I do to fix ?

Large Gui design

I have one class representing my main GUI screen ie includes code for
3* Toolbars
1* MenuBar
Main Panel
The class is getting very long - close to 1000 lines.
1. Is it good practice to split Gui into classes representing specific parts ie Toolbars or MenuBar classes
2. If so should a CustomToolBar class extend ToolBar??

Use encapsulation unless you are changing component behavior. I also like to have the encapsulating class implement all the listeners for the component (or components if it is a compound encapsulation).
For example, an outline might look something like this:

Do system properties used by JavaFX vary across platforms?
Will the JavaFX system properties continue to work in future JavaFX versions?
