QM- Inspection interval & triggering automatic/manual inspection

Hello friends
1) why there is a need of giving inspection interval?
inspection interval Specifies the interval between different quality inspections.....what does it mean?
when we can decide when to create recurring inspection in variant & run through QA05 or QA07 why there is need of Inspection interval?
2) How recurring inspection automatic/manual is related with inspection interval?
also please provide me information/source link so that i can read more on this.
Thanks & Regards

  • Inspection lot quantity in manual inspection lot (T.Code-QA01)

    Dear Experts,
I have activated inspection setup "89" with lot origin '89".I have activated this inspection set up to a material in QM view.
When i want to create a manual inspection lot through T.Code QA01, the inspection lot quantity is a required field. But i do not want to enter a quantity here. I want to create manual inspection lot without quantity. Is it possible?
If yes, please suggest how to proceed.
    Your help is highly appriciable.

    Use User Exit :QPL10001
    Description
You can use this enhancement to change all the fields when creating an
inspection lot. The function module is only run once.
You must be careful when using this enhancement since this can lead to
inconsistencies in inventory management. For example, if you change the
        quantity fields.
    Logic:
Logic will be when you are using a specific Material say MATNR : xyz .......then disable the Qty field LOSMENGE.
I hope this will help you

  • Automatic recurring inspection

    Hi Gurus
Is it possible to have a recurring inspection automatically? Can SAP create inspection lots based on the inspection intervals without having to go to QA07?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
In Recurring Inspection: Inspection lots are created automatically, based on the "Inspection Interval" set in the Material Master QM View.
    1. Based on the Retest date, the system creates Inspection lots automatically (when sceduled in QA05)
    2. You can use "Initial Run in Days" days so that, the system creates Inspection lots in those days.
    3. Based on the SLED and Retest date, the system transfers the stock to Blocked or QI stocks respectively
You can also use Manual Scheduling by QA07
    But, please ensure that:
    1. Material is Batch Managed
    2. Shelf life expiry date is populated
    3. Inspection type 09 is activated in QM view
for all the materials requiring Recurring Inspection.

  • Manual Inspection Lot for Inspection Lot Origin '04'

    Dear SAPians,
We are presently getting Automatic Inspection lot with the Closing of Process order against Inspection Lot Origin '04'. Now there is a requirement came to generate Manual inspection lot against Inspection Lot Origin '04' but System is STOPPING US and giving an Error Msg. You Cannot Enter A Material  for the Specified Origin. I feel that there is some customizing issue. Please suggest.
    Thanks

    Yes Atul,
The system is correcting you, remember the 04 type lot triggers in reference to the Order!!!!
So don't enter the Material, just enter the Plant and inspection type i.e. 04 and press enter in QA01 trx.
The system will ask you for the Order number.
NOTE:- This will be manual lot (Other inspection), so will not have the stock posting tab at UD, though it will have number range of 04.............

  • QM Manual Inspection Lot - with Inspection lot origin 89

    Hi QM Guru,
I did maintain inspection type 10 in this material but while i would like to create the inspection lot manually.
I try to create manual inspection lot manually , i encounter this error with Inspection lot origin 89.
No valid inspection type for material 10000037 was found or selected
    Message no. QA280
    Diagnosis
An active inspection type for the material 1XXXXXXX in plant XXXX could not be found for the specified origin 89 or none of the available inspection types was selected.
    System Response
    Inspection lots cannot be created.
    Procedure
Check the inspection type setting in the material master.
Is there anything which i missing ?
    Thank you.

    Hi,
I hope you have got the answer for this query. You get this error because you are trying to create a manual inspection lot (origin 89) of a material for which Inspection type 89 is not activated.
    From your statement,
I did maintain inspection type 10 in this material but while i would like to create the inspection lot manually.
I try to create manual inspection lot manually , i encounter this error with Inspection lot origin 89.
It is clearly stated that you are using different inspection types. As Rama has suggested, activate Inspection type 89 in the material master and make corresponding master data.
Other than that, you cannot create manual inspection lot for the origins 10, 11, 12, 13 & 14. Similarly, Automatic inspection lots cannot be created for origins 07, 15 & 89. This answers your further query raised in the thread.

  • Inspection Interval

    Hello Friends
    My requirement is somewhat like this;
Inspection Interval ( for recurring inspection ) is defined in QM view of the Material Master. Sometimes, it happens that supplier himself suggests Reinspection of the material after an interval which is less than that of specified in the Material Master and it will be applicable only to the specific batch of said material. In such cases, client want the flexibility of manually specifying the Retest Date at the time of UD ( the way we specify SLED ). We can think of of at the time of GR too. Any suggestions on this issue are welcome.
    Thanks.
    mahesh

    Mahesh,
These are the steps to be followed:
    Customisation:
    - SPRO>QM>QI>Insp lot completion>Define follow-up actions. In this create a function with "Usage decision for insp lot" and enter a text.
    - Select that Function and double click on Function modules. Here you need to define the 'Z' function module which you will be creating for calling the MSC2N BDC.
    Master data:
In QS51 - For catalog 3 /plant/*.   Select 04 / 03 Selected Set and choose the codes for this set. In the right side you have the option of entering the Function defined in customisation.
With the above when ever the used enters the UD, the function module is called which calls up the dialog box for date entry and then the BDC.
So depending on your requirement you could enter the fucntions for the required UD codes.
Hope is clear to you now.
    regards
    Ram

  • No equipment or serial no. in manual inspection lot

    Hi All,
I have maintained 2 user status servicable & unservicable for my serialized equipments in refurbishment processing. In the process after work completed when I move the material to quality and create the manual inspection lot thru qa01 and done the usgae decision as accepted, equipment status should be changed to unservicable to serviacble. For this I am using Function Module EXIT_SAPMQEVA_010 but my problem is in inspection lot I am not able to get equipment no. or serial no. so that I can change the user status.
Can anyone please put some light on how I can get the equipment no. or serial no. in inspection lot?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
For automatic user status change :
    SPRO>Quality Management>Quality Inspection>Inspection Lot Completion>Define Follow up Actions
In follow up actions select QM_PM and double click on Function Modules. Now Uncheck the Sync Update and the AfterPosting Indicator to manually Complete the Order.
In the aboev path you can create a Z Function Module which picks eqpt no from EQUI by giving material no as input andin that you can change user status using FM STATUS_CHANGE_EXTERN[This is used to set or delete User Status]

  • Creating a manual inspection lot

    Hi,
I have to create a manual inspection lot for a batch of material in inspection stock. However is there any way to move the stock into QI stock even though there is no goods receipt document to reference?

    Hi,
Refer the help provided by SAP.
QM cannot manage stock movements for insp lots that were created manually.
The QM component cannot manage stock movements for inspection lots that were created manually.
If the Materials Management (MM) and Inventory Management (MM-IM) components are active in your system, you can use the functions in QM to manage the materials while they are in
inspection stock. When an inspection lot is created automatically as a result of a goods movement, the QM component can:
Record and track the material stock in an inspection lot
Make the necessary stock postings to move the materials out of inspection stock

  • Manual Inspection lot

    Gurus,
I need to create a inspection lot for a confirmed production,is it possible.I take UD for Production order. Then shift the material to warehouse. Then i find the product is not perfect.I need to create an inspection fo this material, manually.

Yes.. activate the 04 inspection lot.  But in the settings in the material master for the 04 inspection, click OFF the "Post to QI" indicator. When you do this, any inventory goes right to unrestricted inventory.  Shipping can pick the material and ship it to their hearts content.
The quality guy can take a week to clear the inspection lot if he/she wants to.
If you really want to get slick, use DMR to have all the 04 lots created as SKIP lots.  Set a wait time on skip lots in the plant QM settings of say about 10 hrs.  Set up the automatic UD program to process the skip lots and run it every hour.
When you confirm production, an 04 inspection lot with skip lot status will get created and all stock will go to unrestricted inventory.  If everything is good, ten hours later the 04 lot is processed automatically.  No one touches it.  If something is bad, the quality person has ten hours to access the inspection lot and record results, defects, problems, create notification, etc.... whatever you want them to do.

  • Manual Inspection Lot and Material Document

    Dear All,
I created a manual inspection lot using inspection type 89. i wanted to make a relationship between my GRN material document and the Manual inspection lot. Is there a way to link these two. Even in the table level is there a relationship between these two?

    > If i assign inspection type 01 for the above mentioned material two inspection lots will be created with the same batch number. What i want to do is in RR combine these two and record results for one inspection lot. By using inspection type 89 even though i can create one inspection lot combing those two, SO reference (Mat Doc reference) is not there. What you suggested is good but once i create a manual inspection lot the way you explained how do i keep the relationship to the automatic generated inspection lot. If you could explain little bit further really appreciate.
Your understanding is correct here. For above two lot if you batch number X123 then simply assign this batch number X123 to manually created lot with type 89, this way you can map all three lot with batch number.
If you want to enter SO in manually created lot for information or reference then assign this SO at field short text in QA01 (technical name - QALS-KTEXTLOS)
FYI - For 89 lot you can do RR & UD for record but this lot would be not stock relevant.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks!!!

  • Manual inspection with stock relevance?

    Hi,
I know that manual inspection lots aren't stock relevant. But is there some way of making it stock relevant, user exits etc?
Let me first explain the scenario:
    1. The client wants to perform periodic inspection of certain products.
    2. The periodic inspection should be triggered manually.
    3. The inspection should be stock relevant.
    4. The organisation is just using 1 plant with thousands of storage locations, so they want to select which storage location to perform inspection on. I.e. not the whole plant.
    5. The products are all organised in batches.
We've considered using QA08 for creating the inspection lots. It works fine a part from the fact that it takes the whole batch in the plant and creates inspection lots for it (no way of limiting the selection on storage location). And the time for next inspection field on the batch is also set at plant level. So we would potentially have to create a new field for storing the next inspection date per storage location per batch.
The functionality of creating manual lots would have been ok if it was possible to make the inspection lot stock relevant. So is there a way of making qa01 transfer stock from unrestricted to QI stock?

    Dear Kennethi
Manual inspection lot can never be made as stock specefic. So the possible solution can be
    1) As replied by vinay activate 08 inspection type for the material
    2) Make a copy of 311 movement type and create a movement type  for eg Z11
    3) In config maintain for this movement type QM active
SPRO>QM>Quality Inspection> Inspection lot creation> inspection for goods movement
    4) Create a QM storage location.
    5) Whenever you need to test use the movement type Z11 and using MB1B transfer the stock to QM storage location. you can do stock posting to the ealier storage location
    hope this helps

  • Inspection lot should automatically be updated

How Inspection lot should automatically be updated with the correct inspection plan and sample size upon GR ? is there any exit avialable?
As per my requirement the revision level should not be taken into account when selecting the
inspection plan. The start date of the inspection should basically be
used as a key date(i:e; current date) .how to implement this logic ?
i have found one exit for this QPAP0002.can anyone explain detail how to implement logic to my requirement?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Pradeep

    hi
check teh material master QM view there shoul be inspection with task list and automatic assignment shoul be there
1.create inspection plan(QP01) with mIC (QS21) assign for opeartion.
2.mantion usage in plan header as 5 goods recipt.
then when ever you get inspection lot for the materil the lot will release,
3.now your lot is in CRTD status do goto QA32 slect the lot click on change inspection lot or goto QA02.
clcik on tasklist specifications and clcik on button task/specification and move to clcik on sample tab then clcik on sample and save teh lot the staus will change from CRTD to REL.
if the plan plan is created after generating date of lot then you face problem of key date.
ok still if you are not getting then use your exit. there should be logic of picking the key date and pass it into start date get these datails fromQALS table

  • Manual Inspection lot creation

    Hi,
In our scenario, there is customer inspection which is done after the final inspection.
For this I have configured manual inspection lot creation after the final inspection.
I expect that if a lot exists for a Sales order, it should not allow PGI for delivery.
    How can I set this?
    Regards
    Ramakanth

With manual inspection, it may not be possible. But it possible by using standard inspection type 10.For this activate the insp type 10 in material master QM view and create the master data (insp plan). or you can use the same inspection as used for 04 insp type. For this do necessary config changes. Also in QM config, assign insp lot origin 10 to the delivery type used by SD(Std is LF).

  • Manual Inspection Lot Sales Order Reference

    Dear All,
I have GRN a material and make a Manual Inspection Lot. Then i did the results recording and usage decision.
    1. Can we make a Sales Order reference to a Manually created Inspection Lot?
    2. Can we make a Purchase Order reference to a Manually created Inspection Lot?
    Regards,
    DTD

We cannot create an inspection lot (QA01) with reference to either Purchase Order or Sales Order.
Instead we can enter Vendor or Customer Number in the Inspection Lot and capture the Sales ORder Number or Purchase Order Number in Short Text Field.

  • Qm - Manual Inspection lot

I want to manage manual inspeciton lot for material & serial no.
I defined the material as serial no. but no serial field excit.
    Thanks
    Shlomit

    Hi ,
As serial numbers are used for inventory maintenance therefore when you create manual inspection lot there is no field for serial number maintenance.
But the results you can manitain with serial numbers.
    Cheers,
