QM: Material Transfer without Usage Decision

Dear all,
I need your help in mapping following scenario.Senario is like:
Material is received from supplier with quality certificates. Material receipt is made on the basis of supplier certificate. Sample from received stock is send to third party lab for testing. Meantime material received is used for production. After some days result from third party lab is received. If report is negative then compensation is to be claimed for used quantity and rest of the material is to be returned to supplier or can be used if supplier agrees to compensate for poor quality.
Should I use long term characteristic for this and if yes then how it is to be used.

Hi (Better if you mention your name),
In your scenario, you can use the long term characteristics for recording results even after usage decision and can take the usage decision, but ensure that you`ll not do any stock posting until you get the report from Third party Lab. After you receive the test results from it, then you do the stock posting for the unrestricted use (for used materials) and return delivery (for rejected materials).

    Following error appears,

    Message no. M7021
    Diagnosis
    Shortfall below the specified stock level or quantity amounting to 1,638 NO.
    System Response
    If the message is an error message (E), the above is not allowed.
    If the message is a warning message (W), the system will allow your input, but the warning is intended to prevent you entering a wrong quantity.
    Procedure
    In the case of a warning message, check the quantity entered.
    In the case of an error message, change the quantity or terminate processing.
    I have checked that quantity 2100 of material 1730PCPBS.0031 is in QI stock. Kindly advice what is the issue and why we are getting the error?

    What is the status of inspection lot?
    One of the possibilities I think could be inconsistencies between MM and QM.
    Have a look on SAP note 48815- Checking possible inconsistencies between MM and QM.

    whenever you do cancellation for material doument then its always done for the same stock type for which you have made GR....
    If you wanna do from it then Choose cancellation and material doc and enter the mrtl doc no.
    and execute ...

  • Quality inspection stock showing in urestricted stock without usage decision

    Dear Gurus,
    We have came across a serious issue in Quality department as follows.
    The skip stock status "REL  SKIP SPRQ CROK QLCH" is showing in unrestricted use stock even before the usage decision is made. Now when we are trying to reject the skip material, in MMBE there is no stock against Quality inspection. & the stock when rejected is getting deducted from unrestricted stock.
    Request you please guide me so as to transfer the "REL  SKIP SPRQ CROK QLCH" stock yo quality ispection once 105 is done.
    Kindly guide what configuration settings need to be changed.

    As I am new to QM kindly clarify following things to me.
    1. Even if we reject the skip stock by making the usage decision, it won't be deducted from unrestricted.
    2. Skip/DOL lot will never be shown under Quality inspection in MMBE.
    3. The only rejection of SKIP/DOL that will happen is the line rejection.
    4. Once the line rejection happens materila status will be removed as DOL & converted to normal for next 5 lots.
    Correct me if I am wrong.

  • Material Disposition After Usage Decision

    Hi Gurus,
    Im working on a scenario werein I need to change the Defect recording after I need to change the disposition of the material. The process is, the lot will be rejected, and will go to a certain Location. In this location, the user will decide whether it can be rework, return to vendor or use as is. User will need to key in in the system.
    At first, I though I can just use of changing the usage decision. But they say they need the disposition per item in the defect code. But once I have done usage decision, Defect cannot be changed.
    Please help to identify other process that I can do.

    Then in that case the only solution will be to activate notification.Please follow this process
    1) Maintaina default notification type in the inspection type in the config
    2) When defect recording is done automaticaly notification will be created
    3) When UD is given notification also gets closed automaticaly
    4) Go to notification ( in UD screen , select the defect and click on Notification and put the notification back in process (menu button > function> Put back in process
    5) Here you can edit the defect or add defect and automaticaly gets assigned to the inspection lot
    Please check and revert back

  • Cinfirmation of 03 lots without usage decision

    Hi
    I am from pharma company , and for in-process inspection lots starts with 03 inspection type we want to confirm the results though valuation and don't want to assign usage decision.
    can i set automatic UD for 03 inspection type ?
    is it possible to to give confirmation for further processing through valuaion for characteristics even if it fails?
    in-process (03 -inspectin lot) results are confirm through valuation than is it required to do usage decision ?

  • Transfer Posting error upon u201CQM Usage Decision with WM HUu201D

    Hello,
    I am switching from the SAP system u201CUsing MIGO with WM (no SU) and Inspection Lot processingu201D to a process using u201CInbound Delivery with WM-HU and Inspection Lot processingu201D.
    For e.g. I have a material with 10 pcs packed in one HU, PGRd and putaway. Inspection Lot is created for the HU containing 10 pcs. I am ideally hoping to do Posting change of 6 pcs to Unrestricted (with underlying mvmt typ 321) and Transfer Posting of 4 pcs to Qty. for Sample usage (with underlying mvmt typ 331).
    In QA11, when I select posting key u201CVMENGE01 To Unrestricted useu201D, I get the error message u201CHandling Unit is locked. No assignment possible. Message No. HUFUNCTIONS007u201D. (I donu2019t have any document open to cause locking).
    When I select posting key u201CVMENGE03 Qty. for Sample usageu201D, I get the error message u201CHandling Unit is locked. No assignment possible. Message No. QHU17u201D.
    Here is the status in u201CInspection Lot Stocku201D tab of QA11.
    u2022     Inspection Lot Qty.: 10 pcs
    u2022     Sample size: 4 pcs
    u2022     Status for u201CHU Transfer Postingu201D is Green
    I am currently doing GR first and then putaway. Though I am open to doing putaway and then do PGR, if that can help, in any way.
    Can anyone please help me with this issue? Please let me know if I need to provide more info. Thanks for your help in advance.

    I did GR for 10 PCs with serial numbers. During QM, when usage decision, in the tab "Inspection lot stock", I input 8 PCs to the unres, 2 to blocked stock.
    Upon posting, system pops up a Serial Number dialog showing "TF quality to unrest" with No. serial no is 10/8, and a list of 10 serial numbers.
    I select 8 serial to post to unres. But still, the system keeps having error "Exactly 8 serial numbers must be selected (instead of 10)"...
    This error is dur to
    You have selected 28 to U/r & rest you want to put to Block.
    so what system does is by default it will select first U/R qty which is 8.
    While stock posting it is showing 10 Sr numbers.out of which you have to select 8 for U/R.
    so only select those 2 numbers which you want to put to block...Click on delet(bucket)
    now only 8 will remain which you wnat to put to U/R.
    select all 8 and click on ok
    save.
    Rest of the 2 Sr number will automatically move to unrestricted.
    This is how sap in UD works for Sr nos.
    This will solve your problem.

  • No Automatic Transfer order creation upon usage decision for 553 mtype

    Scenario: We have quality and warehouse management active. Goods receipt is done against a purchase order. Stock comes into 902 storage type under stock category u201CQu201D. From 902 storage type, Goods issue to scrapping under quality( using IM movement type 553 ) is done using QA11. Normally, once GI to scrap under quality is done at IM level, WM movement type 551 gets triggered automatically in the background which creates a transfer order to move stock from 902 to 999 storage type under u201CQu201D stock category.
    Problem: System unable to find storage bin for storage type 902 Q.
    In our system, automatic TO creation from TR isnu2019t happening once the usage decision for 553 movement type happens. The TO creation process couldnu2019t recognize the stock which is available as u201CQu201D. It throws an error message u201Csource storage bin could not be foundu201D at the time of TO creation from TR. Putaway strategy for the physical storage types is FIXED BIN, MIXED STOCK ALLOWED and ADDITION TO EXISTING STOCK. 902 storage type has ADDITION TO EXISITNG STOCK and MIXED STOCK as a putaway strategy.
    We have already activated auto TO creation settings at WM-IM reference movement types interface configuration.
    Is there any setting missing at QM-WM interface?
    Can someone please tell us a methodology to activate this transfer order creation process (WM mtype 551) for 553 IM mtype ?

    I do not understand your scenario , u are saying are posting inspection lot to non WM storage location and again saying system can not find bin automatically.
    "A transfer requirement (movement type 311 / destination u201C921 Transferu201D) is created after the inspection lot posting (QA11) but the auto-creation functionality is not possible since the u201CSystem cannot find source storage binu201D.
    How can this auto-creation of a transfer order be realized since it is possible to create the transfer order manually via LB11 (entering source u201C902u201D / storage bin u201CPurchase Order no.u201D)?
    The system cannot find the storage bin automatically.

    Please let me know are u using quality interim storage area. If you clear material from quality and want material to go to bin then it should be warehouse managed storage location.

    In our system Usage decision is usually done by QA10 (RQEVAI30) for inspection types 01,04,06.09.
    Now i tried to do it for an inspection type 08(transfer posting),but the system is not recognizing the lots available for usage decision with inspection type 08.But when i try to do the UD through QA32,its doing the same sucessfully.
    Why its so?Why system is not identifying the lots with inspection type 08 thr QA10?

    Now i tried to maintain it.But Whats the usage to be used for stock transfer inspection(08)?I tried with usage 03(universal) and ran QA10.still its not recognizing lots with 08 inspection type.
    I didnt get what u meant by " If yes then is your char in Long term or Required characteristic".

Now after recording the result when i am doing the usage decision for this material, it is giving error that quality certificate missing. The material document has already been posted. How to make UD in this case?

    1.What is status of the inspection lot: is it CTCM
    Then go to UD screen ( QA11)-->edit --> Confirm receipt certificate
    2.Now second option is go to QC51-->enter purchse order >select certificate/Material>double click->go to Certi Status-->select status 5-filed & Inspected
    Save.
    now take UD

  • WM - QM usage decision scrap - automatic TO creation

    How can I realize an automatic transfer order processing for the following scenario:
    MIGO Goods receipt posting with reference to PO into quality
    QA11 Usage decision Scrap
    Transfer requirement (WM mtype 551 / IM mtype 553) is being created but although the correct storage type (902 GR area external rcpts) is being determined the system cannot process the transfer order in background since the respective storage bin (dynamic  IM-material document) cannot be determined => error message u201CSystem cannot find source storage binu201D.
    I am able to process the transfer order in foreground successfully. Via u201Cstock figuresu201D (F7) the system is able to determine the respective storage bin (including stock search with inspection lot) correctly so I wonder why this is not being done in the background processing.

    Hi,
    Bin can be determined automatically only based on the strategy (for your case, it's removal strategy) assigned to the storage type in question. For 902, it's a interim storage type without strategy assigned.
    I am afraid you can only manually process the TR in foreground for your scenario. Otherwise, you may consider putting away QI stock from 902 into a normal storage type. You should then be able to process the TR of scrap in background.

    So what's the different between this both ?

    Or can i have inspection lot without UD ?

    I won't use QM for Notification here. I will use QM for stock transfer & QM in Delivery before PGI.
    As i know the basic requirement of QM 
    Setup the Master Data (QM View & all QM relavant data) ---> Type of inspection (which will determine which type of inspection to carry out ) -----> Inspection Lot Configuration --->Configuration for UD ----> Configuration for COA.
    Master data that which required
    Material master QM view,
    Master inspection characteristics,
    Task lists or inspection plans
    Code, Code groups and Selected sets.
    Quality info-record
    My Question :
    By having the above setup and configuration , without result recording can i have the COA to print out for either Post Process Inspection (Final FG) or Inspection at Delivery ?
    With the Master Data which i mention as above , is it sufficient for me to activate
    Post Process Inspection (Final FG - QM PP)
    QM Inspection at Delivery (QM /SD)
    QM stock transfer with inspection type 08.

  • Automatic TO Creation for QM Usage Decision

    We all know WM TO to releasing stock from QI to UU or return goods to vendor can be created automatically,
    My question is, when the usage decision is split into two, some material going into stock, and some returned to vendor. for return to vendor, SAP will do automatic transfer, but for material go into stock, SAP is not release Q status in WMS to unrestricted (blank), I have set the movement 321 to create TO automatically and post into same bin.
    FYI, if the transaction is separated, SAP perform well (transfer Q to unrestricted done automatically and return to vendor also done automatically)
    Is there any solution for this problem?

    Hi,
    In case of a usage decision for a partial quantity, it is not possible to create the TO for the generated posting change notice automatically. This is only possible when the full quantity is released. The same happens if you release a partial quantity and post the rest using a different stock posting. The reason is, there needs to be a user decision, which part of the quantity has to be posted, this is necessary for example when the quantity is distributed in the warehouse over many storage bins. But even if the full quantity is on one storage bin, there is no automatic TO creation. You can see this also in the online processing LT05), in case of partial quantities you have to enter the selected quantity in the quant list, for a full posting this is not necessary.
