Qosmio F10-105 runs only with 600 MHz

hello
my f10-105 run only @600 Mhz! in the bios and in the power options i have select fullpower.
the bios vers. is 1.20
has anyone an idea?
thx

Hi
Usually after motherboard replacement it can happen that notebook runs just at 600 MHz. In this case you must contact service partner. The microcode must be written again. If the Service partner doesnt do this the machine runs at a fixed speed of 600MHz.

  • Satellite L20-101: I think 667Mhz module runs only with 266 Mhz

    Hello,
    I have purchased 2x 1024MB DDR2-RAM for my L20-101.
First I tried 533MHz but the notebook didn't work with them, so I bought the
    667 MHz version.
CPU-Z says that the FSB:DRAM-ratio is 1:2 so both are actually running with just 266 MHz.
I've updated the BIOS with the latest version from the Toshiba-homepage, but nothing changed.
    So finally my questions:
    1. Maybe CPU-Z is wrong (I don't think so...), are there any other good programms to check the memory parameters?
    2. If the values shown in the programm are correct: Where can I change the value for the ratio? Is there any possibility to see more than the few settings in BIOS or is it a jumper setting?
    Thanks for your help

    Hi
First of all its important to mention that the Satellite L20-101 supports an FSB of 533 MHz.
    So the DDR2-400/533 256MB (PA3389U-1M25) and DDR2-400/533 512MB (PA3412U-1M51) memory modules should work and are 100% compatible!
If you will use the 667Mhz module, it will run only at 533Mhz because of the limitation of front side bus.
Furthermore I think you have misunderstood something.
These are DD2 modules and therefore the CPU-Z recognizes the modules speed as 266 MHz (2x266 = 532Mhz)
So everything seems to be ok!
PS; You can also use the other tool called Everest home edition. Its a freeware and very useful to run a system and hardware diagnosis

  • Portege M200 - CPU runs only at 598 MHz ! Toshiba DOS Base Service Tool

Portege M200 - CPU runs only at 600 MHz
    I have a Portege M200 with a Dothan Pentium M 725 supposed to run at 1.6 ghz but posts a 598Mhz
clockspeed. I updated the bios to 1.8.
    I read in a previous 'locked' post ...... :
    http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=63390
...there is supposedly a DOS base utility from Toshiba to solve the issue. .
it is said it is not a Bios issue.....................
Can anyone direct me to this utility?
    Thanks!
    Gary

The answer is here...thank all and whoever is responsible:
    http://forums.toshiba.com/t5/Qosmio-Laptops/598-MHz/td-p/194566
    The key is a utility called ' pom200t1 '
    You will need the following.
A floppy or if you don't have one an external floppy drive, or if you are savvy to be able to boot a file from a CD-Drive.
You will also need WinImage as all the files you download come as .ima files
Download pom200t1-V1.5.zip and pom200t1.zip (if one doesn't work the other should).
    You can find them here:
http://www.stormpaintball.com/toshiba/pm765.bin (this one is a last ditch attempt).
Then follow these instructions from the site I posted before:
Symptom:CPU stays at 598 MHz constantly.
    *Procedure:*
    1) Boot into BIOS. (Press "Esc" during the boot process, before the OS loads, but after entering your password, if you are using boot-time password protection).
    2) Look under the "Others" category.
    3) If the motherboard doesn't have enough information about the CPU, the category "Dynamic CPU Frequency Mode" will be blanked out (you won't see it).
If the laptop is in this condition it will never go faster than 598 Mhz until you perform the following procedure.
Note: Although this utility says that it is for a Toshiba Portege M200, the particular fix you need might work on other Toshiba laptops.
It has worked on 3 different Toshiba Satellite Pro M15 S405s, but *USE AT YOUR OWN RISK*.
    1) Boot into Windows and create the bootable floppy disk from the pom200t1.exe file.
    2) Boot from the floppy disk you just made.
    3) At the menu select option 2 "Repair initial config set"
    4) At the next menu select option 1 "Initial cofiguration" (misspelled)
    5) After a few seconds you should see "Writing a file was completed!" and the laptop will automatically reboot without prompting.
    6) When the laptop reboots go back into the BIOS and look under the "Others" category. You should now see the "Dynamic CPU Frequency Mode". Make sure it is set to "Dynamically Switchable" for CPU throttling.
    7) Reboot into Windows and verify the CPU can throttle in the normal manner. The Intel SpeedStep Technology icon should now be in the systray. Go into the Toshiba Power Management / Power Saver Properties and update all of your Power Save Modes to use the SpeedStep Technology you prefer (Fixed or Automatic), and bump up all the processor speed caps, or you won't be able to go above 798 MHz because the sliders will still be at their old settings (4 or less), whereas they can now go up to 7.Let me know how you get on.
I've fixed the CPU now just need to find out why my fan only works when I manually activate it!??

  • I have Mac OS X 10.4.11 with 600 mhz PowerPC G3 how do i get Flash Player 10.3.183.20 (65.7 MB) power pc processor

i have Mac OS X 10.4.11 with 600 mhz PowerPC G3 how do i get Flash Player 10.3.183.20 (65.7 MB) power pc processor?

Flash Player version 10.1.102.64 is the last version available to PPC Mac users. However, this Flash version won't work for many videos on Facebook, YouTube and other sites. Adobe's latest version, 10.2.x or later, is only for Intel Macs. Adobe will not provide a newer Flash version for PPC Macs.
The message requesting that you download Adobe Flash Player takes you to Flash Player requiring an Intel processor. Doesn't work on a PowerPC processor. I found a hack, installed it & it works with Firefox, TenFourFox & Safari.
Download this http://www.steelbin.com/FPforFBPPC.zip to your desktop, unzip it, and replace the current Flash Player plug-in which is in your main/Library/Internet Plug-Ins folder, (not the user Library). Save the old one just in case this one doesn't work.

  • [FIXED] Compiz runs only with emerald and crashes with metacity

    Hey,
I currently try to use a metacity theme and have compiz enabled but apparently that's something compiz doesn't really like.
One think i noticed in fusion-icon is that the entire metacity option under: "Select Window Devorator" is just not there.. (or was that always the case?)
Oke, things i have done so far:
    - Search this forum (obviously) nothing found with a solution
    - Searched the wiki (same results)
    - in gconf-editor /desktop/gnome/session/required_components/windowmanager set to compiz (like said in the Compiz wiki page on archlinux.org
    - disabled metacity as compositing manager (tried with enabled as well but the same results)
    - right now i have the compiz bash script from ubuntu (tweaked a little) and that starts up compiz just fine but not with metacity
And incase you want the script:

I hope someone can help me here,

Wait, what, I thought metacity isn't as window decorator, it is a window manager, right? I don't really get what you're trying to do... maybe install compiz-decorator-gtk and use it instead of emerald?
edit: aaah, yes, I think you're missing compiz-decorator-gtk, try that, look at fusion icon "window decorator" option again.
Strange.. i was under the impression that pacman -S compiz-fusion would install GTK and QT decorators... guess not.
This issue is fixed now. Running metacity decorations now WITH compiz.

This sometimes just happens - a drive won't like a certain set of media. Happens to me with client-provided CDs/DVDs.. There's not much you can do but upgrade the drive to a newer unit.

  • Qosmio F10: What to do with the Update Tool CD after motherboard replacement?

    Hi, Hoping someone can help.
My F10 has had three new mother boards since the first one broke down. Fortunately I had paid for the extended warranty. However, when it came back this time they had formatted my hard drive because they changed the chip set. Now it can't find a TV signal and the FN Keys dont work. They sent me new CD Roms entitled "Update Tool" and "Qosmio Player Update", but they don't do anything to help the problem. Anybody got any ideas or does it need to got back again?
    Thanks in advance
    Chris

Ok, I think the engineer will install everything again and will make an update.
By the way; I think the bundled Qosmio Update Tool CD is a booting CD and its necessary to boot up from this CD to install the proper system drivers for the new hardware components.
The complete update process will take about ten minutes. Follow the on-screen
    instructions.
After approximately 5 minutes, the copy process is complete. The message
The media will update software, please do not remove it. Hit any key to Shutdown
is displayed. Press any key to shutdown. Turn on the power of the computer and follow the on-screen instructions.
The Update Tool CD for Qosmio screen then appears and the process of updating the software begins. This can take approximately 5 minutes and the
    computer will reboot to complete.
The Qosmio Player Update only works if the Qosmio Player was installed on the HDD.
This is true for original Toshiba image installation.
Note: Do not install the Player if it's missing!
    - Boot the PC with the QosmioPlayer update CD.
    - Select desired language with allow key and press the Enter key.
    - Select desired Country/Region Code and Keyboard Code with allow key and press the Enter key.
    - Follow the on-screen instructions

  • Does UCCX 8.5.1 Historical Reporting Client run only with admin rights?

I installed UCCX 8.5.1 Historical Reporting Client on a Windows Vista machine. When I try to open it as a regular user, it gives me an error message "Unexpected error: Quitting". I can only open it when I log into the machine as administrator. Does anyone know this is the normal behaviour? If so, then every supervisor of my contact center will need to have admin rights in the computer?

    hi,
The Historical Reports client uses Windows's secondary logon service.  It uses this to run
the software with the CiscoHistRptUsr when the agent or supervisor is logged into the PC
with their own account.  This is the service that gives you the Run As option when you
right click on executables. Check to see if they have this ability on the PC, and make
sure the "Secondary Logon" service shows as Started in the Windows services (Run -->
    Services.msc)"
So, on one of the PCs with the issue, look for Secondary Login: Start >Settings >
Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services. Scroll down to Secondary Logon and
verify that this service is started.
Also, if the service is running, please look for the application, right click on it and
    select "Run as Administrator"
    Hope that helps!
    Thanks,
    Karthik

  • Qosmio F10 - cannot install WXP with new HDD

My F10 doesn`t start from hard disk anymore and because of the obvious sound from the hard disk it is certainly broken. I have changed the build in Toshiba hard disk with 80GB for a Toshiba hard disk with 60GB.
I put a Windows XP Installation disc into the drive and pressed C at the start for booting from the CD. It doesn`t start the installation but instead it says that I have to remove the hard disc.
Why? Is it only possible ti install an identical hard disc because there is no bios?
    PLZ HELP!!!

    Hi
Is your new HDD recognized in BIOS properly?
    Check this!!
Furthermore when you get exactly the message from Windows installation and what will be displayed exactly?
Can you try it with Toshiba recovery disk, please?

  • Leopard on iBook 600 MHz PowerPC G3

Is it possible to run a iBook 600 MHz PowerPC G3 with 640 MB SDRAM with Leopard??? And if so, because some of you jokers will say yes, how do I do it???
    Cheers,
    Johan

That would be better taken up on a different web site, since detailing ways around Apple's installer restrictions are iffy per the terms of the Discussions. If you search the web for something like "leopard install unsupported", you'll come across a number of pages of discussion about the issue.
    Regards.

  • New Qosmio F10-101. Where is OneNote?

Just purchased a new Qosmio F10-101 in Greece with Greek Windows XP, but I don't seem to find Microsoft OneNote installed in my machine. In the european site in "Discontinued Models" the specs say clearly that OneNote is included with this model.
So, why is this software missing?

    Hi Thanasis,
My copy of OneNote came on a bundled CD and I had to install it myself. It was not included on the OEM Windows XP installation, and it is not included on the recovery CDs.
I suggest checking the original packing for your Qosmio to see if there is a CD in there somewhere.

  • If I upgrade my iphone 3Gs to iOS5 then whether its speed will reduce or it will become slow because its processor is only 600 MHZ ? If it is so then whether it should be upgrarded to iOS4 ?

I'm running iOS 5 on my 3GS, and it runs fine, granted it's not as fast as a 4 or 4S, but it will still run fine.

  • Qosmio F10 doesn't run after recovery procedure

Hi, I have just purchased the toshiba recovery dvd for my qosmio f10 laptop, i put the dvd in and it goes through the recovery process and completes 100% it then tells me to remove the dvd and then press CTRL ALT DELETE to restart the computer.
Upon doing so it gets to the screen were it tells me windows is starting then the screen goes blank and flickers a couple of times, then the laptop re-boots and keeps on doing this, I press the F8 key when it restarts to go into save mode, but when it goes into save mode it tells me that windows is not fully set and won't go any further and tells me that I need to run set up again.
I do not have a windows cd only the dvd from toshiba which should put my laptop back to factory settings.
Can aynone help me before I ring toshiba?
    thank you.

    Hi
Its not easy to say why it happens. Usually the Toshiba recovery CD should works properly and after whole recovering procedure the notebook should run without any problems.
You have suggested that you have ordered this recovery CD from the ASP.
Did you get the right recovery CD? Check the CD description.
The other possibility is that the unit has a hardware fault. In this case you should contact the Toshiba service. Sorry but this is all what I can suggest.

  • 600 MHz PowerPC G3 with iPhone and iTunes

I have an old 600 MHz PowerPC g3 but cannot install the new iTunes so that I can sync my new iPhone. What can I do to upgrade my OS. Or any other better ideas. Thank you for any help you can offer!
    Message was edited by: tbrodale

Look on your iPhone's box or in the manual for a list of system requirements:
    *Mac system requirements*
Mac computer with USB 2.0 port
Mac OS X v10.4.11 or later
iTunes 8.2 or later (free download from www.itunes.com/download)
    iTunes Store account
    Internet access
However, I'm sort of confused because there is no 600 MHz G3 or G4 PPC Mac, so I'm not sure what to tell you in terms of whether you can actually run 10.4.11 or higher on your computer.
