Hi all
is Qosmio F30-112 compatible with (2+2) GB 667Mhz memory system?

Did you check your user manual which was preinstalled on your notebook?
Usually such info is placed there!
The compatible modules are DDR2 533MHz (PC2-4200) 200-PIN SODIMM.
You could also use the 667Mhz but if your FSB (front side bus) supports only 553Mhz then your 667Mhz modules would run only at 533Mhz

Qosmio F30-112: cooling fan is running very fast

Hi,
I want to ask somebody thier, my laptop qosmio F30 -112 recently every time i start my computer i heard that the cooling fan is running very fast (i mean) it wasn't stop unlike before its running smooth only i heard it when i playing games but not continuous, then after that my computer now running slow.
Somebody can help me what im going to do?

F30 is a little bit older notebook series I think about 3 years old or older... did you clean the cooling modules in the meantime?
I think there is a lot of dust and debris inside the notebook and I think this prevents the air from circulation and therefore the fans run faster.
Try compressed air spray this should help to remove dust and debris.

I agree with the user above. Toshiba doesnt support linux on their computers so you have to search yourself for drivers. You should ask in Linux forum
The most users here are using preinstalled Windows version

Qosmio F30-112 - How to reset the BIOS password

Hello
I get broken laptop Qosmio F30 -112 with broken lcd.
Now I get new lcd monitor and fix it but I can not access to bios password.
I found out how to recover passwords for other tips of toshiba laptops but I can not find for this.
What I looking is name of "jumper" that will reset my bios password.
I was carrying a laptop in a local service but they did not know to remove the problem.
Please help !!!

Qosmio F30-112 D-video to (HDMI or A/V)

I need to connect my F30 to a plasma TV what kind of cable to use ,the only cable in the box was a D-video/SCART.

I have checked Users manuals and, if I am understood right, using S-Video out port just picture will be send to the TV. To get sound you must use notebook speakers or a set of headphones connected to the headphone jack.
In my opinion the best solution is delivered SCART cable. Unfortunately the SCART cable is little bit too short. With HDMI port on the unit (like on some Qosmio G30) is much easier to connect unit on the TV.

Qosmio F30-112: Can not use 1366x768 resolution on external monitor

How to connect F30-122 to LE-32R73B and where to set up the display (Fn+F5 gives me a lot of options, bios, Nvidia settings)?
I tried VGA cable, but picture is poor. I can't use full resolution of LCD TV (1366x768), just 1024*768.
Any suggestions?

i Have the same problem and have done ever since i purchased this dam laptop. The laptop is awesome the softwarfor hd.dvd is awful. only way i can get my laptop to run @ the res of my tv which is 1366x768 is to use the latest version drivers from nvidia. problem is as you may or may not know no updates to laptop drivers are made by the card manerfacturs so you have to realy on 3rd party drivers or updates from the people who make your laptop. well found a site few months ago called http://www.laptopvideo2go.com they make modded inf files for the latest graphics drivers so that they will run on go type cards. just get latest driver and download the modded inf then copy that modded inf into the driver folder write over the exsisting one then run the drivers this will unlock the full power of your gpu and all of it's functions. it will def have the res you are looking for.
but there's a couple of issue's which may just be issue's my end. intervideo will not run hd-dvd discs with anything but the useless toshiba graphics driver update which is useless anyway as you cant run the res you need and also even the new toshiba hd player seems to have issue with anything newer than the toshiba graphics drivers. the drivers toshiba use are anceint and are good for nothing so i have contacted toshibas software team asking them to sort this issue because im sure this is not only a couple of people with this problem.
hopefully there will be an update in coming few weeks as this 2 me is a major issue as i cant use my windows media center or my hd-dvd drive because the current player software wont run with new drivers which i have to have to run my other programs i run on my laptop.

Qosmio F30-112 - DVD drive can't read and burn some DVD's

Hey everybody!
Here is the problem: My DVD-ROM won't read some DVD's it won't burn. In Nero when it start burn error pop up and the message is: Power calibration error
I've alerady tried with all testers for burner and reader and they all didn't found any problem. They said that burner and reader are working correctly. I even reinstalled Windows Vista couple of times end it still show me that error and it won't burn or read some DVD's (which I tried to read another computer and there was no problem). I tried to clean it with cleaners and nothing.
I think that problem started since I updated firmwire F103, but I'm not sure...
Help please.

Was the firmware update made for your CD/DVD drive or do you have anohter one? In my opinion the drive could be faulty due a wrong firmware
But before you exchange the drive you should try to remove the upper and lower filters in Windows registry:
1) Start Regedit (Start -> Run -> Regedit)
2) Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
3) In the right pane, delete the "UpperFilters" key, and delete the "LowerFilters" key.
4) Reboot.

Qosmio F30-112: Cannot install Virtual Sound for Vista

Installed Windows Vista, downloaded sigma sound drivers ver. 6.10.5462.0 and installed them, then tried to install Virtual Sound and got message "Toshiba Virtual Sound does not support your computer." Where is the problem?

I did back up my files before i install windows .7 Unfortunately, i've got only my files instead of the programs.
So my problem now is where i can get some programs which is important for me like DISC CREATOR & WIN DVD MOVIE FACTORY? Please somebody can help me?

Such applications and software were a part of the Toshiba image and are not downloadable.
You can use it only if you install the original Toshiba image on the Toshiba notebook.

Memory upgrade on iMac G3 700, help with system crashes

I tried to do a memory upgrade on my iMac, so I bought two kingston 256 MB PC133 modules, but none will work, the system starts, but hangs in about two minutes after loading the desktop. I went back to use the older memory module wich is an spectek, but I need the upgrade, any ideas?

The iMac 700 G3 should have been supplied with 1 stick of 256mb ram. However which is the correct type i am not sure as the Apple specifications for this model state PC100 whereas my iMac G3 700 graphite was supplied with 256 MB PC133-333 SDRAM

Apple profiler from my iMac this is the original supplied RAM from Apple:-
DIMM0/J13: Size: 256 MB
Type: SDRAM
Speed: PC133-333
1) I would re-instal the original ram and open system profiler to see what type the ram is.
2) Keeping the original stick in place add another stick of the new ram and look again in profiler to see if its recognised and again try the second stick to see if there's a problem with one of the sticks.
I am currently running my iMac with a small upgrade of RAM and the additional RAM is 128MB of PC100 and i have noticed the performance improvement since adding the PC100 so it's working and i have suffered no ill effects doing this..

Qosmio F30: Multimedia buttons not work after Vista Upgrade

I upgraded my Toshiba Qosmio F30 laptop to the Vista Home premium that I got from microsoft.
After upgrading, the multimedia keys (First row) is not working and also some of the shortcuts which is done by combining the control + Function keys (like Control+F1 to switch off the screen).
After upgrading to Vista, I updated all my device drivers with the second software dvd received with the Vista upgrade.
Also again I updated these drivers with the final Toshiba drivers for Vista dated 25/4/07 on the internet. How to restore the function of these multimedia keys and other keyboard shortcuts which is not working.

Can I ask you: Where did you downloaded the drivers and the tools software?
As I upgraded my machine I had the same problem, so a user told me watching on the Canadian Toshiba website and there I found some useful drivers.

System crash just got a memory upgrade and installed tiger.

When I was runnig panther and connected to net and at random times I get a message that read " Your computer needs be reset" . The message appears in several different langauges. When I was using Panther i did two clean installs of panther i still got the fore mentioned message. I thought installing tiger would take care of the problem but it didn't. i get the same message and a system crash. Is my mini shot?

Grizzo, what you're suffering from is known as a 'Kernel Panic'. It's not all that common, but it's not unheard of either. Kernel panics can be caused by a wide variety of things - often by memory problems (hence the previous poster asking whether your memory upgrade was done before or after you first started getting these) but can also be caused by other hardware issues, or even by software.
One thing that a kernel panic doesn't mean is that your mini is faulty. It MIGHT be, but it's also possible they're being caused by something you have installed on your mini, or a device connected to it.
First thing to try is to disconnect all external devices other than keyboard, mouse and screen and see if the mini panics then. If it doesn't, the problem is in something you had connected to it before. If it does, then it's in the mini (though some displays have been known to cause kernel panics too!).
