Qosmio F30-141 Memory Stick DUO / cardreader problem

I have a problem with Memory Stick Duo Adapter/Memory stick PRO DUO card.
Computer don't recognize volume. Device Memory Stick appear in the system, but when I click on it in the explorer, computer say "Insert disk into drive E". I have Original Memory Stick PRO DUO card 2gb and MS Duo Adapter. Computer every 30 sec try connect this card.
Computer properly work with Memory Stick Pro Card 1Gb and with Memory Stick M2 Card 1Gb with M2 adapter.
all this cards work in my Photo and on another computer.
I try to connect this card through Sandisk 6 in 1 PCMCIA adapter, but in this case no one card works.
This device appear in IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers as "____________Memory_Card_Adapter_II" but driver for this device is not installed (KODe 28).

Thanks to the wonderful internet world for this info:
The F30-141 does not support the memory stick pro duo and any adaptors was not tested.
I afraid also the usage of any adaptors wills not help.
I have bought a external card reader. Its a small device and was not very expensive and the best is that this external card reader supports most cards ;)

  • Questions about Qosmio F30-141 and OS

    hi!
I plan to get notebook Qosmio F30-141, but after purchase I wish to replace operational system on Linux Fedora Core and with it would like to learn, whether are correctly supported by the given operational system this model (support wi-fi especially interests), or you recommend other model?!?
    thank's

The problem could be that the Toshiba does not support any Linux drivers and you will have to search in internet and on 3rd party websites for compatibles and supported drivers!
Furthermore the Toshiba notebooks support many Tools and Utilities which enables the notebook features.
I presume you will be not able to use such features like FN keys for example

    http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/jsp/productPage.do?service=UK&PRODUCT_ID=121991&toshib aShop=true)
which, according to that page, is supposed to have "1 x 5-in-1 Bridge Media slot (supports SD Card, Memory Stick, Memory Stick Pro, MultiMedia Card, xD-Picture Card)" but the pdf user manual that came with it says that it does not support Memory Stick Duo, Memory Stick Pro Duo or mini-SD.
However, I have a Memory Stick Pro, and a Memory Stick Pro Duo in a Memory Stick Pro adapter and the reader can't seem to read either of them (they should both count as Memory Stick Pro which should be readable right?)
Should I be able to read my Memory Stick Pro cards? Why can't I since it says I should be able to? Do I need to install something first?

    Hi
In my knowledge and according to the manual the Bridge Media slot supports Media of type
    - SD Memory Card
    - MultiMediaCard xD-Picture Card
    - Memory Stick
    - Memory Stick Pro
Please note that the Memory Stick and Memory Stick Pro are not the same as Memory stick Duo and Memory Stick Pro Duo.
    Dont mix it.

  • Re: Qosmio F30-141: Is PA3237U-1ACA adapter compatible?

I've got a Toshiba Qosmio F30-141. Its AC adapter (PA3237E-3AC3) is out of function. May I use PA3237U-1ACA instead?

    Hi mkarabal,
Just compare the specifications of both AC/DC adaptor. If both adaptors have the same voltage and the same or a higher ampere, you can use the other AC/DC adaptor too.
As you can see, voltage must be the same, just the ampere must be the same or higher.
So I agree with MisterX. You can use the new adaptor! :)

where you can buy a motherboard for Toshiba QOSMIO F30-141?

    Hi mate
You need a special board which has been designed especially for the Qosmio F30-141.
Such motherboards and all compatible parts can be purchased from the Toshiba ASP in your country.

  • Satellite P100: Memory Stick Duo Pro with MSD adaptor is not recognized

When I insert MSDP in the multi card reader of my Satellite P100-473 - Vista preinstalled - (using a MSD adaptor), the Removable media is listed in the Explorer but the card cannot be read.
With a 32MB card, it reports that card should be first formatted... but correct data are inside and should be visible.
With 1GB card, it reports that a card shall be first inserted...
Does anyone has already experienced this issue ?

    Hi
Did you check you user manual ????
Take a look into the chapter 8!!!
There you will find a information that the card reader supports only SD; MMC; MS; MS Pro and xD cards.
As you see it supports the Memory Stick Pro but Not the Memory Stick Pro DUO!

  • How can i insert sony memory stick duo sd,sorry for my french.

I can not insert my merory stick duo in my macbook air 13"

The current 13" MacBook Air provides an SD card reader that reads SD type memory cards.
The Sony Memory Stick is an altogether different form of flash memory that the MBA is not designed to read directly. You will have to use a USB Memory Stick reader, purchased separately, and insert it into the USB port.

  • Is there a problem with USB Memory Sticks and OSX?

This may not be the correct forum for this question but I don't know where else to ask!
I am having problems with a 64GB USB Memory Stick. Acrobat Reader can't read a pdf file on the memory stick but no problem from the hard drive. Acrobat Reader won't work from the memory stick. Music files (aif) won't play from the memory stick.
The memory stick came formatted for MS-DOS but I re-formatted it to MAC-OS Extended. I can write files to it but they don't seem to work from there. Is there some incompatability with OSX that I am not aware of? I would welcome some advice.

MAke sure the drive is inserted and mounted, then launch Terminal from /Applications/Utilities.  Type:
    mount
    and hit Enter.
One of the lines returned will contain the words, "/Volumes/<name of your flash drive>".  Copy that whole line and paste it here so we can see what's up.

  • Satellite P200D - Won't read Memory Stick Pro duo Adapter

    Kia Ora
My Satellite P200 won't read my Memory Stick Pro Duo in the adapter, both Sony Brand.
I'm running Vista Home Premium. SD cards are read OK.
The adapter works fine in my PC running XP home premium. I have tried two different pro duo cards. Please help!

    Hi
I think you should check your user manual because this type of card is not supported:
+Memory Stick Duo/PRO Duo and the Memory Stick adaptor are not compatible with the Multiple Digital Media Card slot. Do not insert Memory Stick Duo/PRO Duo into the slot. Data may be lost or damaged if you use any card other than those supported.+
Do you have more questions? ;)

  • I am unable to insert the Memory Stick into the card reader slot on my HP 7510

I have three Photosmart 7510's (C311a)  and one Photosmart Premier (C310a).  All of these printers have the identical Card Reader slot on the lower, left front corner.  ALL four printers will not accept a standard Sony Memory Stick from my Sony digital camera.  In all cases, the slot has two layers for "DUO  SD  MMC" chips and each will accept the "Sony Memory Stick Duo" without the silver and white MSAC-M2 Adaptor.  No matter what I try, the Memory Sticks will not even start to go into the slot.  I have looked into the slots with a fiber=optic flashlight attachment and there appears to be no issues -- except, possibly, the separator between the upper and lower part of the two-slot opening, is a little above center in the opening.  Sitting in front of the 7510, I can look into the slot and see a white or very light gray surface that is sided to side across the opening, just inside the opening.  When I get down and look into the slot at about a 'flat' angle, the white surface does appear to be just high enough that it partially obstructs the lower slot -- all the way across the slot.
I have tried four Memory Sticks and two Memory Stick Duo's, with and without adaptor.  NOTE that the Memory Stick DUO, when NOT in the adaptor, will fit right into the upper part of the slot.  However, with the Memory Stick Duo in its adaptor, and all the other Memory Sticks I have, none of them will start inot the upper or lower 'bay' in the slot opening.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

I think I will declare this discussion closed.  In an earlier post I said I would need to keep working at this problem until I seized up the right setting.  Well for my 1080ii XDCAM EX 35 timeline, I have alredy tried a number of settings.  The source WWV is 1280x720.  The problem is stuttering video losing every other frame, audio popping or audio continuously losing a greater amount of sync.  I tried APPLE TV 1280x720 in Compressonr (I'm still making more, not all have been tested.)  The Apple TV h.264 works.  It has to be rendered.  I know some will say that's not optimal.  I have put a lot of time into this with no other good results so I'm accepting this for now.  I might be cooking up another right now in Compressor that will work better.  Thanks to the posters.

  • Re: Need mainboard for my Qosmio F30

Hi! I think it is standard problem- overheating GPU. I can remove motherboard by myself.
Where can I find Motherboard for Toshiba Qosmio F30-141 FUHSY2 A5A001825130?

    Hello
I assume that Ika7 has already bought a new mainboard because the thread is from February 2009.
As Raver posted you have two possibilities:
    -eBay (second hand)
    -Authorized Service Provider (new part)
Furthermore the ASP can exchange the mainboard for you because its a little bit tricky and you have to remove a lot of screws.

  • Qosmio F30 starts with blue stripes during the start screen of Vista

My Qosmio F30-114 runs since years without Problems with Vista Ultimate.
Since some Days there is a huge Problem.
The Qosmio starts with blue stripes during the start screen of vista.
So I deleted the driver of the graphic card and used the standard vga card driver. the hardware assistent found a driver on the system.
For a short moment i was very lucky.
After a restart, there was a blue screen. after the next restard, again the standard vga card driver.
    What can i do?
The download section of toshiba has no drivers for graphic card.
And really ... i wonder - how does it works all the years without problems...
    Has anyone a solution?
    thanx
    toshibalover ;-)

    Hi!
First of all do you have this issue on an external monitor too or only on the internal monitor? Maybe its not a problem of the graphic card so check this with an external monitor.
I have checked the Toshiba website and there I can find some drivers for the Qosmio F30:

  • Copying from a USB memory stick

Now i can access my iPhoto App (thanks to T. Devlin), I'm trying to import photos saved on a memory stick. When i try to import them, after about 10 seconds a message comes up saying; "The application iPhoto quit unexpectedly, click to relaunch.....", another message pops up; Saying; "Do you want to reset application settings for iPhoto, the application quit unexpectedly after it was relaunched. Resetting application settings may fix problem". When i click reset and launch iPhoto's goes blank. Yet i have put saved camcorder movies on iPhoto from same memory stick with no problems.

When i click reset and launch iPhoto's goes blank.
    1. Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and point it at your iPhoto Library Folder - by default that's in your Pictures Folder. If iPhoto sees a valid library there it will open it.
    Otherwise:
Try these in order - from best option on down...
    1. Do you have an up-to-date back up? If so, try copy the library6.iphoto file from the back up to the iPhoto Library allowing it to overwrite the damaged file.
    2. Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
    3. If neither of these work then you'll need to create and populate a new library.
To create and populate a new *iPhoto 6* library:
Note this will give you a working library with the same Rolls and pictures as before, however, you will lose your albums, keywords, modified versions, books, calendars etc.
Move the iPhoto Library to the desktop
Launch iPhoto. It will ask if you wish to create a new Library. Say Yes.
Go into the iPhoto Library on your desktop and find the Originals folder. From the Originals folder drag the individual Roll Folders to the iPhoto Window and it will recreate them in the new library.
When you're sure all is well you can delete the iPhoto Library on your desktop.
In the future, in addition to your usual back up routine, you might like to make a copy of the library6.iPhoto file whenever you have made changes to the library as protection against database corruption.
    Regards
    TD
