Qosmio F30 question about TV-tuner

Hi, I am Mike from Slovakia (middle europe)...
Is it possible to watch TV program on DVB-T ?? or this signal is only for Qosmio G-series ???
I have a driver on CD: AVerTV v5.2.0.14 Slovakia Patch
but during the instalation it shows me: "WARNING: Wrong TV utility version!
this driver is from ORIGINAL TOSHIBA CD ! NO COPY...
and when I try to connect my Toshiba to the "normal" aerial trough aerial cable, notebook is able to find only three HUNGARIAN (I am from slovakia) program im the very bad condition too,,, when I connect this cable to the classic TV, I can watch more than 30 programs....
Where is the problem???
DO I need driver for slovakia TV programs??
Is possible that on Slovakia there isnt a DVB-T signal ???
Is possible to watch TV in high quality anywhere I am, only with "pocket" aerial connected to my notebook???
Happy new year and thanks for your answers !

Hi
Are you sure you can watch DVB-T in your region? Please check it at first. It is definitely possible that there is no DVB-T signal because I know that many west countries are not covered with this signal. Please dont understood me wrong but technical development on west is much better as in Slovakia and I believe there is definitely no DVB signal just normal TV signal that you can receive with simply TV antenna.
With notebook TV devices is that they are country specific and maybe because of that you can not see all channels you would like to see. I was not out of my country with my Qosmio and I didnt test it yet but I am really interested about that and how it works exactly.

  • Qosmio F30 - question about D-Video out

    Hey,
some months ago I bought a Toshiba Qosmio F30 notebook in Germany which has a D-Video output. There was also a cable included converting from D-Video to SCART. I tried that with some TVs at home using SCART but there was always a horrible fuzzy video signal where I could hardly identify some desktop icons. Do you have an idea what goes wrong there?

    Hello
I do not know for sure but in BIOS settings somewhere must be option to enable SCART option. Please enter BIOS settings and check it out.
Other very important thing is to use the right channel on the TV.
    Good luck!

  • Qosmio G30 - Question about the Raid driver

Do i actually need this driver to use RAID? If its set in BIOS, what does the driver actually do? apart from give you health stats?
    Cheers

Yes, you need the RAID driver.
I think The Qosmio G30 was designed with the RAID feature like some G20 units.
Without this RAID driver you will be not able to install the OS because the OS setup cannot recognize the HDD.
    The RAID uses two options:
RAID-0 (Striping): two HDDs are used as one big drive, if one HDD fails all data is lost
RAID-1 (Mirroring): both HDDs contain the same data, if one drive fails data is not lost
I think you could check this posting and additionally use the forum advanced search for more results about RAID.

  • Qosmio G20: Questions about MCE Recovery CD/DVD

I bought this Qosmio G20 laptop few months back. Its cool. I live in Asia where media centre edition is not launched with this series. I have a Windows XP home edition with this laptop. Can anyone tell me whether its possible for me to format this OS and install MCE on this laptop? And where could I get media centre edition's recovery cd/dvd ? What is the procedure to install Media Centre Edition from recovery cd if I get one? And anyone would like to share their media centre edition recovery cd with me would be great.
pls contact me on this email address [email protected]
    Thank you very much (:

    Hi
In my opinion the only solution is to install Microsoft WMCE (full version). I dont believe that you will be able to get original recovery DVD because the hardware is bundled with software and you can just order the same if you lose one.
Like I said you can try to install full version but you must be careful because this unit support RAID and you must install RAID driver at the beginning. The Qosmio player should also be installed before you start to install MCE. Please check Qosmio area on this forum and you will find a lot of useful topics about Qosmio G20 installation.
    Use also option Advanced search.
    Good luck!

Your technical issues have zero to do with the installers. Whatever is at play is rooted on your system, but you have not provided any specific system info nor crash logs. Pardon me, but "Photoshop is crashing" is a useful as my 88 year old grandma telling me her phone doesn't work...

  • Question about I-tunes?

I just got a new iMac and i just downloaded the I-tunes 12.0. I'm looking for the New From Your Artists Section, but i cannot find it. Where is it? Was it taken down for improvements? I have scouted the from page endlessly.

An iPod can only be synced with one iTunes library. You can manually manage music on the iPod which will enable it to be used with more then one computer.
When you authorize your computer it only allows your iTunes Store purchases to play, it's not specific to an iPod.
To put the iPod into manual mode follow article: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61148
Make sure to choose cancel to the erase and sync option as you will probably want to keep your content that is on the iPod there.

  • Qosmio notebook question about mains power supply

    HELLO GUYS
I just wanted to know if a buy a Qosmio from the America or other countries in europe will they play on UK mains power supply. I saw one on ebay that said it had an auto sensing power supply which will work anywhere. But i wasn't sure if i should believe this.
    Thanks in advance

    hi Navdeep,
Most modern AC adapters work on a voltage range of 100-240 volts so they can be used virtually world wide. This obviously saves the cost of producing specific adapters for different countries or regions.
Just check the specifications for the Qosmio in the country where you plan to purchase it.

  • Questions about Qosmio F30-141 and OS

    hi!
I plan to get notebook Qosmio F30-141, but after purchase I wish to replace operational system on Linux Fedora Core and with it would like to learn, whether are correctly supported by the given operational system this model (support wi-fi especially interests), or you recommend other model?!?
    thank's

The problem could be that the Toshiba does not support any Linux drivers and you will have to search in internet and on 3rd party websites for compatibles and supported drivers!
Furthermore the Toshiba notebooks support many Tools and Utilities which enables the notebook features.
I presume you will be not able to use such features like FN keys for example

  • Qosmio F30 and Radio tuner for WMC

    Hi,
I found software (radio tuner) but the problem is I couldn't run it. I don't have hardware (Floppy disk drive) to run on it.
And maybe it is not compatible for my Qosmio F30. Is there any another software that compatible for laptop?

I saw your posting where you asked about this software. Why you didnt wrote there where you found it exactly. This can help other forum users.
Sorry but it is not so cool just to ask something, read answers and ignore what other people wrote to you.
So if you have European notebook model it will probably not work. As far as I know US models have this function.

What do you mean 'cancelled all my apps' ?
Have you got any auto-renewing subscriptions ? There are instructions on this page for managing and stopping them : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4098
Or does anybody else have access to your account and/or devices and may have made those purchases ? If nobody else has, and if they aren't auto-renewing subscriptions that you hadn't stopped, then you can try contacting iTunes Support : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/

  • Questions about editing with io HD or Kona 3 cards

My production company is switching from Avid to Final Cut Pro. I have a few editing system questions (not ingesting and outputting, just questions about systems for the actual editors - we will have mac pros with either kona 3 or io HD for ingest and outputs)
    1) Our editors work from home so they most likely will be using MacBook Pros - Intel Core 2 Duo 2.6GHz 4GB computers with eSata drives to work on uncompressed HD, will they be able to work more quickly in FCP if they are using the new Mac Pro 8-Core (2 Quad-Core 2.8GHz Intel Xeon) or will the mac book pro's be able to hold their own with editing hour long documentaries, uncompressed HD
    2) Will having an AJA Kona 3 (if we get the editors mac pros) or io HD (for the mac book pros) connected be a significant help to the editor's and their process, will it speed up their work, will it allow them to edit sequences without having to render clips of different formats? Or will they be just as well off without editing with the io HD?
I'm just trying to get a better understanding of the necessity of the AJA hardware in terms of working with the editors to help them do what they have to do with projects that have been shot on many formats- DVCPro tapes, Aiptek cameras that create QTs and P2 footage.
    Thanks

    1. with the IoHD, laptops become OK working with ProRes and simply eSata setups. Without the Io, they can't view externally on a video monitor (a must in my book). It will not speed up rendering a ton, nor will it save renders of mixed formats. The idea is to get all source footage to ProRes with the Io, and then the Io also lifts the CPU from having to convert ProRes to something you can monitor externally on a video monitor, and record back to any tape format you want... all in real time.
    2. Kona 3's on Towers would run circles around render times on a Laptop... no matter what the codec, but the Kona does not really speed renders up. That's a function of the CPU and just how fast is it. (lots of CPU's at faster speeds will speed up render times).
I'd recommend you capture to ProRes with Io's or the Kona 3 and don't work in uncompressed HD. You gain nothing doing it quality wise at all. And you only use up a ton of disk space (6 times the size in fact) capturing and working in uncompressed HD, which from your post, you're not shooting anyway. The lovely thing about ProRes is that it's visually lossless, efficient, and speeds up the editing process. Mixing formats can be done, but it's better to go to ProRes for all source footage, and edit that way.
With either the Kona or the Io, you then can output to uncompressed HD tape... that's what they do for you no matter what codec you've edited in. ProRes is designed to be the codec of choice for all HD projects when you're shooting different formats especially... Get them all singing the same tune in your editing stations, and you'll be a much happier camper. Only reason to buy laptops is portability... otherwise you're much better off with towers and the Kona 3 speed wise.

  • Question about delete statement

I have question about delete statement...
i am performing some simple delete statement against one table..but its taking so long..How can we check whether particular delete statements actually deleting records or not..?

Is the associated select-statement returning rows or not?
If yes -> delete is deleting
If no -> delete is just using CPU-cycles
To tune the delete-statement, you have to tune the corresponding select-statement. To tune the select-statement, you want to read the thread When your query takes too long ...

  • Qosmio F30-117 freezes

Hi! I bought a Qosmio F30-117 a little while ago and it has now started to freeze. I get to the desktop alright, then it just completely freezes and I have to take the mains lead and battery off to restart it, then it usually loads up fine.
Anyone else had this problem or has an advice on what I should do?

  • Question about the "iPod radio remote"

I assume the "radio remote" is the same for every country and is under software control. I want to buy in Canada but use in UK and Canada.
Has anyone got one and seen the RDS work, in the UK almost every FM channel is RDS. Do they have RDS in Canada (Toronto) can anyone confirm?
And of course it says FM so this again I assume no AM, not that I need AM it was just an interest in if it could do it.
What happens about headphones, you can plug a pair into the remote, can you still plug into the bottom of the iPod or does the remote connector get in the way.
What is the story with "line out" I use this all the time as I amp my headphones. So I assume you cant use line out? or is the remote a line out also.
And I assume the remote cable and you headphones act as the aerial, how is the quality? Is it any good indoors, some little FM radios I have used drop to mono indoors. Does this Apple one frop to mono if the signal is weak?
Someone that has one can perhaps answer
    Cheers
    Ray

I can at least answer some of the questions.
The RDS function on this radio/remote is poor in the
UK. You have to set the radio function on the iPod
to "Europe" and when you do this RDS info is not
displayed on almost all radio stations such as
Virgin, XFM, Capital, GLR, etc. It does display on
Radio 2 however. At least, this is my finding. So
it's unpredictable at best. Setting the radio to
"USA" on the iPod increases the likelihood of getting
the RDS to display, but the downside is that you can
then only tune the radio in increments of 2mhz which
is a bit awkward if your looking for 89.1mhz!
There are three settings for the radio which you
choose via the iPod. They are USA/Europe/Japan. No
setting for Canada, although I'm sure you will still
be able to use it over there as I can still use mine
here in the UK even if it's set to USA.
No, there is no AM radio.
You can plug headphones into the remote or the
headphone jack on the iPod, or both at the same time.
I'm not sure I understand your question about the
bottom of the iPod. The radio plugs into the iPod
    via the dock connector.
There is no 'line out' on the iPod. If you mean the
one on the dock, then no you can't use it as you
cannot place the iPod into the dock whilst the
radio/remote is connected as they use the same
    connector.
Yes the cable of the remote acts as the aerial.
Reception is surprisingly good where I am, but it
will of course depend on where you use it. I've
used it indoors without any drop in signal or it
    dropping to mono.
Lastly, you need to update the software for both the
nano or the 5th generation for the radio to work
(after you do this a radio function appears in the
menu), and some users have found that doing this
screws up the iPod. I have mine working on both the
nano and the 5th gen without any problems.
There is a review of the radio/remote here. I like
mine and consider it a worthwhile accessory, but of
course there will be those who disagree.
    iPod
    Radio/Remote Review.
    Thank you for the reply.
Think your right USA or Europe will work in Canada.
Yes I mean the line out via the dock, I just wondered if the remote become a line out socket (I also use a pocket dock for line out for headphone amp as I use a pair of Sennheiser HD600 with my ipod) but of course that is silly becasue you have a volume control on the remote and line out is normaly fixed.
Based on your views I shall get one in March when in Toronto
