Qosmio F30: Video IN WDM driver for VfW capture?

Does anyone from Toshiba read these forums?
Is there any hope that Toshiba can rewrite the driver for the composite 'Video IN' hardware so that it works correctly under the Windows Driver Model and Video For Windows so that it can be used with Windows Media Encoder please?
I bought this F30 on the basis it had an inbuilt Video In port but to my horror it wont work with Windows Media Encoder. I also read on these forums other people are having problems getting the 'video in' port to work with with video capture based programmes.
For such machine, surely the 'video in' should work as a proper VfW piece of hardware.
Look forward to hearing the reply.
Tim.

Hi Tim
I dont believe that some Toshiba technicians will read this because this is user to user forum. Anyway I have made some experiments with Qosmio G20 and composite in port. I have tested it with VHS recorder and sat receiver.
I have noticed that on some applications those external devices are not recognized as video source. I have also tested my camcorder with firewire port and it works perfectly with every video editing applications.
Which video source you want to use?

  • Need Creative SB Live! value (WDM) driver for win7

    hey,
? i just upgraded my PC to win7 and am looking for ideas to get my sound card (Creative SB li've! value (WDM) working again - is there an updated driver or?do i put another Win7 compatible Sound card?
    thanks,
    ? ramesh

Re: Need Creative SB Li've! value (WDM) driver for win7] the driver and applications that exist for the package are very crippled. The card is very very old, even though I loved mine when I first got it. The headache and workarounds that you would have to use in order for that card to simply function are not worth your time.
I am not here to market, but in the last month I have been switching between my Dell OEM xtreme Music, my X-FI Titanium and my Fatality Gamer Pro Platinum. The last two are great cards and have worked for me at least, flawlessly in Vista and Windows 7. I admittedly use the Daniel K. 2.0 pack as a base for my software install of all three, but that coupled with the newest Creative issued driver have worked beatifully.
I picked up my Titanium off Ebay for $40.00. I bought my Dell OEM card for $30.00. I bought the I/O bay for the X-FI Fatality for $25. So your options are very open. That old li've will not accelerate sound well at all for Direct X based games, and you will be very disappointed. Again, all this is opinion, but I have been switching intensely between the above cards lately, and they are worth it. I do not have digital speakers, like the Logitech z-5500's. But my four year old pair of Logitech z-640's sound fantastic. I tried even with my onboard sound just for giggles. It was just that:? giggles.
Try this for a great price and fantastic performance.

  • Qosmio F30 - installing new hard drive

    Hi,
I have just installed a new hard drive on my Qosmio F30 - It originally only came with one 60 GB hard drive.
The second drive is identical to the first in every way, i.e. 60 GB Toshiba drive.
I have initialised the new drive and it is showing as online and unallocated. I want to use the drive to basically increase my capacity, not as a mirror, and therefore selected this option using the RAID utility.
However when I expelore the C drive, it still only shows the total capacity of the drives as 60 GB. I assume that both drives should be showing as one drive, as 120 GB.
    Is the drive working properly?
    Thanks

    Hi!
Chad is right, you should check the BIOS if the second HDD is recognized properly. Then you can set the RAID that you want. As I understand you right you want RAID 0.
If you dont have the user manual you can download it on the Toshiba website:

  • Qosmio G10-100 - Need sound driver for Windows 7

Please please please can anyone help I have spend hours and hours installing loads of difference drivers and none work. I even tried installing DriveRobot and that installed a RealTec 97 but does not work.
I need a window 7 sounds driver for a G10 100 I am sure there is someone out there that has the same issues. Please note that when I go to the sound device it shows up and no sound drivers installed even if I install the Realtex ones.
I am pretty sure that the sound card build into the lappy is a SoundMax

    Hello
First of all you should check the specifications of your notebook and what sound card is built in. I have done this and the Toshiba page shows a built in AnalogDevices AD1981B sound card. That means a Realtek driver will not work.
On the Toshiba website I can only find Windows XP drivers that means Windows 7 or Vista is not supported :(
You can search on external websites and with Google to find a driver. Maybe you have a little bit luck. ;)

  • Using wdm driver for 24-bit out

I'm trying to modify a visual c++ program to play 24-bit wave files using an Audigy LS. (I had been using a 6-bit SB Li've.) I recoded to use DirectSound rather than Playsound. How do I get my program to use the wdm (Directx) driver, which I'm told I need for 24-bit output?

Works on F30,G30 With nVidia Geforce Go 7600
    Download from
    Here

    Thanks for this notification.
This website is already known to me and I have noticed this new graphic driver version.
Its really an option to the original nVidia GPU drivers which are usually designed only for the desktop PC graphic cards.
But the drivers from the www.laptopvideo2go.com site run on the notebooks too.

  • Qosmio X300 - Nvidia 9800M GTX driver for XP

    Hello,
I don't have found any driver who run on Windows XP for my TOSHIBA X300-123
The graphic card is a Nvidia GeForce 9800M GTX with 1024MB
I have search on the net but nothing is running (Nvidia web site) and there is nothing for X on the Toshiba web Site!
Please if anybody have got the driver, give me!
    Thanks for all

I presume its 32 bit version of XP? Nvidia are now hosting mobile drivers and I found the driver in a minute or so by looking on there site,
Nvidia drivers will work on nearly all their GPU versions including the 9800m GTX.

  • WDM support for MPEG2 capture

I am trying to capture audio/video in MPEG2 off of a hardware encoder card. Unfortunately, this does not work through the VfW WDM wrapper.
Any ideas for how to accomplish this?
When will JMF support WDM (right now it only supports VfW, which includes some WDM-only devices because of the wrapper. That doesn't work with MPEG2 unfortunately, though).

    WDM=>VFW success story:
I tried to get my JMF application to see a USB webcam on Windows XP but no luck - even though XP already had the vfwwdm32.dll installed. So I did a little digging. Seems there is a note titled "VirtualDub documentation: How to install the VFWWDM wrapper for Windows 2000" located at http://www.virtualdub.org/docs_vfwwdm. It lists entries in the system registry but mine were slightly different. I added the missing entries from the VirtualDub memo and it worked.

  • [GeForce 6] nx6600gt-vtd128 vivo driver for windows xp x64 edition?

Are there any (beta or release) wdm driver for this msi's nx6600gt-vtd128 for windows xp x64 edition?  If not, are there plans to make an x64 driver in the near future?

I have the same card, and i can't find ANY capture driver for it. Not even the WindowsXP 32-Bit.
Could you enlighten me on where exactly did you see the 32bit capture drivers? (Other than the MSI CD)
    EDIT:
Now I noticed you said NVDIA's Website, they're even older than the ones MSI provided on the CD. Older by like 2 years.
What I'm looking for, is a place where I can find fresh new WDM drivers. Or at least an online package of what's on the CD
Drivers should not be availiable only on a CD.

  • Windows Vista Update posts 64bit driver for Qosmio F30 32bit Vista

    Hello
Today I've noticed that Windows Vista update is posting the wrong update for one of Qosmio F30 drivers.
I have Windows Vista 32Bit but Windows Update post a 64bit version of the driver.
    see the screenshot [Here|http://imagefilehost.googlepages.com/f30Wrongupdate.jpg]
    Any idea?

    hmm... this is strange ?:|
The Toshiba x64 ACPI compliant driver means definitely a 64bit version!!!
I dont know why the Vista driver update notification reports an 64bit driver for a 32bit OS but usually the 64bit driver shouldn't be compatible with the 32bit OS.
However, the case seems to be clear dont install it if the driver is not designed for your OS.

  • Qosmio F30 Sound Driver for Windows Server 2008

I am running a virtual machine with Windows Server 2008 installed on it. The server sees my Sound Driver but it doesn't recognize it and asks for driver all the time. I tried running the Sound Driver installer from the CD but it did work, said: Unsupported operating system. I searched all the web for a driver and I didn't find any. Can any one help in finding this driver for me or let me know it it is possible to manually install this driver?
I'll be so thankfull for any help.

As you probably know Qosmio F30 is not designed to be used as a server and generally speaking Toshiba doesnt support Server2008. All you can do is to identify sound card manufacturer and try to find the driver on their support page.
Sorry buddy but thats all what I can say about it.

  • Qosmio F30: Need 64bit driver for RAID controller

    Can anyone help me???
    Please!
    I have Qosmio F-30.
Where can i find 64-bit driver for raid controller?
    Is it exists somewhere?
    Please, help me!!!

Unfortunately, the XP 64bit drivers are very rare and on the Toshiba driver page you will not find any.
Possibly because Toshiba does not deliverer any notebooks with OS XP 64bit.
See only one way to find one; google for 64 bit DAID driver and maybe you are successful
    Good luck
