Qosmio F50-10B XP Drivers

Salam everybody :D
I have been looking for the WXP drivers for my new Qosmio F50-10B laptop. Didn't find the drivers online..
Shall I just downgrade on my own risk or do you think they will provide them soon?
How can I request the drivers from Toshiba? Is there a certain process..?
I have a software that runs very slow on Vista.. so I need to downgrade.. :-(
Any help is appreciate it..
Thank you
Buthaina

Salam my friend
Without much philosophy: obviously the drivers are not available. Not yet. Maybe Toshiba will offer them in the future. Who knows? You can make small experiment and install WXP on second partition or second HDD (if available).
Check in Vista which hardware components your Qosmio has and try to find tem goggling around. If you need it to run some certain software you dont need more than basic hardware configuration without all Toshiba tools and utilities.
For running multimedia stuff you can continue to use preinstalled Vista.

  • Qosmio F50-10G - Windows Vista 64-bit and drivers

I've been using Qosmio F50-10g for bout 20 days now.
It has 32 bit operating system on and i think there is no 64 bit driver support yet.
If i am not wrong x305 series have 64 bit driver support and the configuration of two laptops are similar.
I was hoping to create a 64 bit back-up Dvd but it does not exist on 64 bit if i am not wrong on my pc.
So any suggestions regarding how to use 64 bit drivers on these computers ?
Or do i just have to wait for Toshiba to publish the 64 bit drivers?
    Thx.

    Hi
It seems that at this time only the BIOS and the BT stack was released for the Vista 64bit OS.
But Im sure the other Vista 64bit drivers will be released in the next time.
So I would recommend waiting till the 64bit drivers are online!!!

  • Re: Qosmio F50 - Where can I get drivers for Windows 7?

    Hi
My university has a MSDNAA agreement with Microsoft, allowing all the students to benefit from free Windows Licenses, including Windows 7 Pro (32bit and 64bit). I have had one since September 15th, and Toshiba Europe still hasn't posted any drivers for my Qosmio F50, so I can't use it.
    Any solutions?
PS: I went to Toshiba USA's website and they have drivers for the Qosmio F55 (the equivalent of the European F50), so if any of you can tell me which F55 is equivalent to the F50-10K, I'll be more than happy to try to get its drivers, test them, and get back to you with feedback.
    Thanks

    Hi
I think nobody is able to say what US model is exactly the European F50-10K. ;)
In your case I would choose a F55 model and download the drivers. Try to install them and see what happens. After this you can post the result because it could be interesting for other users.
Normally there is no significant difference between F50 models.
By the way, the most Vista drivers should also work on Windows 7. Its worth a try! ;)

  • Qosmio F50-125 - How to use TV-FM Tuner in Windows 7

    Hello,
I am using Qosmio F50-125 and I just upgraded to Windows 7.
I just now found out that I have a TV tuner on my notebook and I dont know how to use it.
First I dont have drivers for my TV tuner and tried to download something like TV-tuner driver v.2.3.3.31 from the toshiba website, but there is not a typical setup.exe but just some files inside.
If you could tell me a bit more about how to use my TV option and how to install the proper drivers I would be truly grateful.
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi mate,
Friend of me has also Qosmio F50 with TV Tuner and Windows 7 now. As far as I know the posted instructions from the other users are correct.
First you have to extract all files. Then go in device manager and right click on the TV card (I think its marked with yellow exclamation mark). If you right click choose Update Driver and in next windows choose the advanced installation (second point). Now you have to choose the driver directory yourself and navigate to the folder where you have extracted the files. Click on OK, Next, etc. and the driver should be installed properly.
Maybe you to restart the notebook but this shouldnt be a problem! ;)
If you have more questions, please let us know! If you need more assistance I can ask my friend again for further details.

  • Qosmio F50 - Webcam error - Invalid floating point operation

    Hi
I have Qosmio F50 (4 Weeks old) problem is after two weeks webcam has stopped working *Invalid floating point operation*
I have to close program via task manager, *Camera assistant software not responding*.
    Have tried following.
    Update all drivers, system restore
Toshiba help line after all efforts suggested complete reinstall this is to aggressive for me as it would loose certain software on laptop that I had to transfer from old PC and had to plead with certain software companies to transfer (only one license etc).
Has anybody else had this problem and is there a simple solution
    Will

    Hi,
I have the same problem, Laptop Qosmio F50 is 4 weeks old and now the webcam stopped working.... it's quite annoying, whenever I start the application it says ' Invalid floating point operation'. To me this sounds as some issues in the software and the compatibility on vista, I think it could happen after putting the laptop to hibernate or suspension state and then when it comes back, the webcam stops working. so let's see if toshiba realeases a fix or new version quickly, otherwise I would be quite disspointed with such a good laptop.

  • Qosmio G30-10B Virtual Sound Toshiba driver (for Windows XP)

    Hello,
There is a driver listed at the Qosmio G30-10B Win-XP drivers page, with the following data:
    - 09/07/07 Virtual Sound Toshiba Windows XP 1.03.17 World Wide
This driver is listed only in the Win-XP drivers page, and it is not listed in the Win-XP MCE drivers page.
Does anyone know what is it for, and if I should install it on my fresh dual-boot Win-XP Pro installation?
    Thanks in advance,
    Y

    Hi,
since all Windows XP version are the same operating system just with slightly modifications on the shipped software you dont have to worry when installing the driver.
It would work without problems because XP MCE is just a XP with some more optional software from microsoft integrated in the system.
Its like you take a XP and install a 3rd party media center software on it.
Feel free to install the driver, it should work flawless.
    Greet

  • Qosmio F50 - How do I bring the Fn-Keys and Hotkeys to work on Windows XP?

    Hello.
I downgraded my Qosmio F50-137 to XP, found every driver needed for hardware recognition, but am still looking for the Fn-Keys and Hotkeys to work.
I know (or at least think) that I have to install the "Toshiba Hotkey Utility".
But this utility needs the "Toshiba common module" for Windows XP to be installed.
I fond on the web two common modules for Windows XP:
    common_modules_2489A
    and
    common_modules_24895A
The first one says "This software utility does not support this system.Installation will be terminated"
The second one says "TVALZ driver installation has failed"
How can I make the installation work properly? or How can I make the Fn-Keys and Hotkeys work on my F-50 ?
    Thank you in advance

Ok sorry for not answering the questions but I have to find a webpage to answer a few things...
    {quote:title=I said:}I've found the XP drivers of other components for my computer on the Toshiba European driver page {quote}
But I'm not sure it was there, since going there and trying to find the page again drove me to the normal driver page.
I'm asking your help me finding the page where:
    - You choose your computer in a column by type and then the next column apperar (on it's right), until you have selected your computer, and a button "choose now" appear.
    - When you click this last button, you land in a page where you have more drivers than in the normal driver page of toshiba (for me I had the option of Windows XP, while I don't have it on the normal page)
    - I'm preety sure it was on the toshiba-website, but I don't remember how to find this page again... And since I already formatted...
I'll continue looking if I can find it again, if someone knows this page, please tell me/us...
    thank you in advance.

  • Qosmio F50-12J - Battery will not charged on Windows 7

    Hi!
When I install Windows 7 and drivers and power adaptor is pluged in in right corner battery icon says:
    pluged in but not charging!
Then my notebook lose battery and turn off even if is pluged in power.
    Please help me!

    Hi
I must say this is a very interesting posting, buddy. I have Qosmio F50 and Windows 7 too but no problems at all. Everything is working like a charm.
Have you tested the same on Windows Vista the preinstalled OS? Normally the battery should be charged if AC/DC adaptor is connected.
In your case I would also try to update the BIOS. You can find it on the Toshiba page.
Are you using original Toshiba AC/DC adaptor?

  • Re: Qosmio F50-12J - FN key not working with new Value Added Package

    Hi,
I have Toshiba Qosmio F50-12J and have trouble with Value Added Package v 1.2.28.
I can't get the flash cards to work. When I press FN key nothing happens. BTW, I installed VAP on freshly installed Windows 7 64 bit. With the previuos version of VAP that I tried on Windows 7, KeNotify.exe was crashing. Now there is no apparent crash, but nothing happens.
Also, there is a problem with the Button Support utility (touch sensitive controls). Whenever I reboot my system, all the white illumiation LEDs on my laptop are lit although I turned them off.
So, could someone confirm that they have a working Value Added Package v 1.2.28 on Windows 7 64bit ?

    Hi buddy,
Your posting is a little bit confusing and in my opinion you make something wrong. My Qosmio F50 runs pretty good on Windows 7 and I dont have any problems with the FN keys, illumination buttons or other function.
First of all make sure that all drivers are installed!!! I mean chipset, graphic, sound, etc. Check the device manager and if you can find unknown devices or yellow exclamation marks download the missing drivers on the Toshiba page.
The Button Support Utility has nothing to do with Flash Cards support utility. So before you make something wrong, please uninstall Toshiba Value Added Package and Flash Card Supports Utility. Restart the notebook after uninstallation and clean the registry using CCleaner (http://www.ccleaner.com/). If you have clean the registry, restart the notebook again.
Now you should install newest Toshiba Value Added Package. Restart again.
Install Flash Cards Support Utility for Vista. Restart again.
Now you should check if it works or not.
Sorry but thats all what I can say. I dont have any problems on my Qosmio F50 and Windows 7.

  • Qosmio F50-126 not supprted for Win 7 upgrade?

I am really getting angry about Toshiba and Windows 7 upgrading option.
I am really excited about upgrading my Qosmio F50 -126 to Windows 7 from Vista Home Premium.
But after doing a bit research on the issues involved in upgrading, I burst into anger.
I went to this link [http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB9902P50000R01.htm] to check whether my notebook is supported but because i paid good money for it i it SHOULD be supported.
    But guess what.. IT ISN'T!!!
On top of that.. it says on the website that the notbook not mentioned will get 'limited support'!!!!
WHAT?? my 1999 dollar MACHINE WILL GET LIMITED SUPPORTED FOR WINDOWS SEVEN!.
What am i suppose to do.. buy another Toshiba or sue them to get the money and buy a new one???
Does this mean I CAN'T run windows seven will all the drivers runnin??? WHAT SHOULD I DARN DOOO??

    hi abdusamed,
calm down - it takes some time to get all win7 drivers running, i am sure they will provide drivers for your cam etc...
but i think they are not tested yet.. and you wont get a driver that's improperly working, dont you?
and dont stress yourself with that "limited support"-thing...
this only means if a machine is deliverd with eg. vista there is support for vista only.
if you install antother os eg. win7 or linux they will give you "limited support" means if available they provide drivers and help.
just like running this forum (which is realy helpful to me and some others)
so just wait a little i am sure there will be a solution!
btw: you can investigate your hardware and get some reference drivers of the manufacturers..
but this will take a bit (lots) of time and some testing...
and i am not sure if there isnt any special hardware in it that causes the reference driver to work bad/not.
i wont do that ... but if you like....
btw: is there an official release date for win7-machines from toshiba?

  • Qosmio F50-108 - Front operation panel issue

Hello, I have qosmio F50-108 and the front panel does not work me, I think I uninstal a program. Please link to the driver. thanks akem
    sorry for my bad english

    Hi Akem
Sorry but I dont understand what you are meaning exactly by front panel?
Do you mean the Toshiba Control buttons like (play, pause stop, etc)
If you are meaning these buttons and if you have removed an drivers which controls these buttons then a solution should be easy.
First of al you should try to set the OS back to the early time point before you have removed this driver. For this you have to use the system restore utility.
Secondly if the procedure described above will not work, try to reinstall the VAP (Value Added Package).

  • Qosmio F50 - graphic card cannot be recognized under WXP 64-bit

I've installed the Windows XP 64 OS on Toshiba Qosmio F50-10K. I have a big problem, because Windows XP can't recognize my graphic card (nvidia geforce 9600m gt).
I tried to install drivers from nvidia website, but after that graphic card still wasn't recognized.
It causes that, when I try to push and drag some window, I can see how it is re-painting.
Could anybody help me in solving my problem?

    Get ready to kiss me!!
I managed to sort out video drivers and you can to (I hope). After being told by most people to give up trying, a friendlt tech support lady from Nvidia put me onto a way that works!!
Firstly, visit [Laptopvideo2go.com|http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/drivers/xp64/185.20] and click both the *Driver* and *Modded INF* files.
follow the instructions [Here|http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=9243] - scroll down to where it tells you how to install the driver.
This worked well for my Qosmio G50 and I can now run my CAD program.
    Hope this helps!!!

  • Qosmio F50: How can I install Vista business

    hello!
I recently bought qosmio f50 and it came with vista home edition..
I need to install Vista business.
    How can i do that?
    Do i need to format?
Then how can i install back all the utilities and drivers that it came with?
Will i have problems with my laptop if i do that?
    Message was edited by: xaralas

    Hi
The Vista installation is not tricky.
Just put the Vista disk into the ODD and then boot from the disk.
    The installation will start automatically.
But this will format your HDD and you will lose your installed Win XP and other files.
    > how can i install back all the utilities and drivers that it came with?
I assume youve got a Toshiba recovery disk.
If you want to get back the OS installed by Toshiba then you should use the Toshiba recovery disk for recovering.
PS: what Qosmio F do you have exactly? I ask it because F 108 is not known to me
