Qosmio F50 - graphic card cannot be recognized under WXP 64-bit

I've installed the Windows XP 64 OS on Toshiba Qosmio F50-10K. I have a big problem, because Windows XP can't recognize my graphic card (nvidia geforce 9600m gt).
I tried to install drivers from nvidia website, but after that graphic card still wasn't recognized.
It causes that, when I try to push and drag some window, I can see how it is re-painting.
Could anybody help me in solving my problem?

Get ready to kiss me!!
I managed to sort out video drivers and you can to (I hope). After being told by most people to give up trying, a friendlt tech support lady from Nvidia put me onto a way that works!!
Firstly, visit [Laptopvideo2go.com|http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/drivers/xp64/185.20] and click both the *Driver* and *Modded INF* files.
follow the instructions [Here|http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=9243] - scroll down to where it tells you how to install the driver.
This worked well for my Qosmio G50 and I can now run my CAD program.
Hope this helps!!!

  • Graphics card is not recognized in windows 7

Hi guys, i just installed windows 7 ultimate on my bootcamp partition. Everything loaded fine. I used my osx disk to install bootcamp, it worked. But my video card (Nvidia geforce gt 330m) is not recognized or something. i checked device manager and under display there is only standard VGA driver. I went to the nvidia website and downloaded the driver but when i go to install it, it says: the nvidia setup could not find any drivers that supports your hardware.
    Any ideas??
my video card works perfectly on mac...

^^Gecko, I'm not bustin' on you, but you're wrong. Or, you are, but I doubt it, one of the lucky ones.
I've gotten 3.1 installed by running the setup .exe file from the DVD via Windows Explorer. Everything seems OK except the graphics/resolution. My NVIDIA card isn't recognized and my resolution options only go up to 1280 x 800.
The Window 7 Performance Information and Tools shows this:
    "Graphics
Total available graphics memory Not detected
    Dedicated graphics memory 0 MB
    Dedicated system memory 0 MB
    Shared system memory 0 MB
    Display adapter driver version 6.1.7600.16385
    Primary monitor resolution 1280x800
DirectX version DirectX 8 or earlier"
    Apple, please, help us!

  • Qosmio X870 - Graphic Card upgrade

    Hello
I'm here to ask if is possible upgrade the graphic card of a Toshiba Qosmio x870 (13K model). I use it mostly for work (3D Work) when I'm out of office. When I had decided to disassemble it to clean all dust and changing thermal paste to reduce the heating - successfully, btw - I had notice that nVidia graphic card (gtx 650M) was pluged into a *MXM 3.0 type B* slot.
So I thought: "Is it possible to upgrade?!". I'm very interested to upgrade for a 770M or 870M, with more dedicated memory, of course. I had noticed the size, the format and also the poscion of the "slot screws" are the same relatively to newer cards.
    Thanks.

    Hi
Mobile machines are not upgradable like desktops. GPU upgrade is definitely not supported and Im 99,9% sure it cannot be done.
Due to specific design and limited cooling possibilities such upgrade cannot be done.
Some basic info about CPU or GPU you can find on http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB9401AX0001R01.htm

  • Qosmio G - Graphic card displays wrong screen

My laptop froze to a blank screen. When rebooted it first displayed a black background with a light concentration of blue and white shaded blocks in strips vetically down the screen - like a tetris game.
As it went through the loading of Windows in the background, the display turned to a green-yellow lines on black bakground verticlly down the screen - like the Matrix screen from the movie of the same name. The next display was black and white barcode blocks also vertically. It started a repair-recovery action which eventually failed and would not go any further. I went on in safe mode with the same displays happening. I disabled the NVidia GeForce GO 7600 graphics card to set it to the standard VGA.
I can now log all the way onto and use it in the normall manner but visually it is the same as described above through the boot porcess, but adding blue rain like verticle lines down the screen - like Vista is behind the window of wet coloured glass. White pages such as a Notepad windoe has pink verticl lines down it but the text is readable but everso light in shading.
Everything seems to work fine, browser, web surfing, email, but the display is shot. I connected external monitor but got same. I tried to check BIOS but is all displayed in coloured tetris squares making it hard to see what to do. I upgraded the BIOS from v3.40 to v3.90 successfully but no change to display. I ran diagnostics and Graphics card failed.
I guess the graphics card is a goner and I need a new motherboard aye !

    I know this problem.
If you power on by the button TV-Tuner, you have a problem?
    As i solved this problem:
Power On notebook (press standart button ON/OFF , not from TV tuner button)
When you lisen a sound, press FN+F5, then press ESC>F1 to enter setup (in my notebook)
Press PageUp PageDown to select pages with settings, in 1 from 3 page you see LCD settigs (or "display settings" or somthing else, im forget), change settings from AUTO-SELECT to LCD+VGA, save+exit

  • What workstation graphics card should i run under bootcamp?

I run Rhino (64 bit) with windows 7 through bootcamp. the software mfg's recomended graphics card is the AMD FirePro v7900 or v5900, and user group recos the nvidea quadro 4000. I am currently using an Nvidea gtx285 and driving two displays from it. Looking to upgrade both memory and video card for optimal performance.

Mixing nVidia and ATI under Windows is usually a no=go.
The FirePro is single slot and 150W so only needs 1 x 6-pin power cable.
Amazon has $790 or $100 more than the v7900  NVIDIA Quadro 4000 for Mac
I take it the GTX 285 doesn't work well enough?
If you don't care about early boot screen there are GTX 570/580 take up two slots.
    some upgrade ideas:
Put Windows on an SSD and put your work data files on another drive.
is 2008 model uses FBDIMMs 8 x 4GB is max - 8 DIMMs though is ideal.
    Crucial Technology CT2CP51272AP80E 8 GB
    DDR3 (2009+)  24GB costs what 8GB FBIMM would.

  • HP xw8600 nvidia gtx 650 graphics card "cannot start device code 10"

I have an HP xw 8600 with two Xeon 5450 processors and 4GB RAM, it's still running XP sp3 with /3GB enabled. Bios 01.46
The original ATI Firegl graphics card just died and I have installed an nvidia geforce GTX650. The latest nvidia driver is installed version 344.11. But the graphics card isn't running correctly, it provides very slow low resolution graphics and device manager says "cannot start device code 10".
I tested the card in a Dell t1700 and it worked correctly.
NB. while waiting for the GTX650 I installed an old nvidia fx550, the card worked correctly running dual monitors. BUT after installing the GTX650 and getting the error, if I switch back to the fx 550 it also now gives the code 10. Tried going back to a restore point before the GTX650 was installed and reinstalling the fx550, but it stall has the same code 10 error.

  • Qosmio X770 - graphic card exchange

    Hi!
I have a question - is there a possibility to change graphic card in this laptop? I ask about it, cause I'm using this laptop rather to 3D modeling than to games and in this situation programs like SolidWorks inform me that capability of my capomuter (graphic card) is very low.
    Any ideas?

Generally speaking graphic card exchange or upgrade is not possible on mobile units.

  • Qosmio G40 - graphic card keeps overheating and crashing while gaming

My nVidia 8600GT card in my Qosmio G40 laptop keeps overheating and crashing when Im gaming.
It runs all the games I put on it fine, but overheats then crashes and kicks me out of the games Im playing.
Is it just because its a laptop and its prone to do this?
I have tried to increase the fan speed using riva tuner and precision, but neither program allows me to access to the fan speed utility.
I presume this is because its a laptop specific card... I also cannot find driver updates for this card from nVidia.
    Please help.....James

    Hi!
Are you using the Toshiba display driver? This is important because the manufactures driver dont have an overheat protection and so the graphic chip can be damaged.
Furthermore this could be also an overheating issue. So you should clean your notebook with compressed air spray that you can buy from a local computer dealer.
Last but not least I would not try to change the fan speed or something else. This will be controlled automatically.
    Bye

  • Graphics Card Not Recognized under Mavericks Update? MacBook Pro 8,2

Every since I updated my macbook to mavericks, my dedicated graphics card is not recognized under system profiler or any software on the computer. I have the Macbook Pro 8,2 (late 2011) and the upgraded dedicated GeForce graphics card from the factory. My system is just running off of the integrated intel graphics at this point and there is no option to switch back in system preferences. Is my card just dead in there or did mavericks ignore it? I have no other operating systems to check. Should I just make an applestore appointment and get it looked at?

    Found the solution ... finally!
Go to your system preferences - energy saver and then check if your Graphics setting is set to »higher performance«. Somehow the update to Mavericks change this setting to »better battery life«
Now both cards are recognized and running ... however, watch out: since I changed that setting, my fans are going crazy! ... so I'm not sure if I should keep it. It would be much easier if one could change the setting all the time without the need to logout and login again ... well, Apple though good isn't the Holy Grail

  • Dedicated graphic card not recognized

Hello there, I have bought a Lenovo G500 with a i3 3110m proccesor 4 gb RAM and an AMD Radeon 8570m graphics card. I have a very big problem now, a couple of hours ago I got a blue screen of death and since then, my dedicated graphics card isn't recognized, only the Intel one. I tried doing a system restore of yesterday when I installed some programs, that didn't work, I did another one for about a week ago, I uninstalled and reinstalled the driver, I even installed an older one to see if anything works, but nothing yet. Something like this happened before but I don't know how it got fixed, I'm asking for someone's help because I really don't know what to do, the notebook is only a couple of months old and I don't think it should be acting this way. Thank you.

Do you have the latest version of bootcamp? If not, download it and recreate your driver cd then when in bootcamp install the new drivers

  • Sudden problem between iMovie and my Graphics Card?

    Hello all-
Please forgive any omissions, first time posting.
    I'm running Tiger 10.4.9 on a G4 iMac Desktop, 800 MHz w 768 MBram.
My graphics info is apparently: NVIDIA GeForce2 MX:
I only recently had iMovie HD 6.0.3 start displaying an alert message detailing it's requirement of a 'Quartz Extreme Compatible' graphics card. This is news to me, since I've been using this version of iMovie since October 06 without this alert cropping up. So this seems Out Of The Blue.
Funny thing: I've booted the computer from the Tiger startup disk a couple of times since this error began - to check if a disk repair is needed - and with each assisted reboot the graphics card is correctly recognized/supported... once. One unassisted boot. After which it reverts to 'Quartz Extreme Compatible' unsupported once again.
I swung the problem briefly past a genius at a MacGenius bar, who felt the problem was probably not the card itself going bad, (as she thought the card would fail entirely if it was having problems) but either corrupted software in the system, or a HardDrive problem. I have no other evidence that my HD might be failing, so I'm left with her other advice, to do an Archive and Install.
Honestly, nothing's been installed or updated recently. If I had to guess, it
-may- have started after Quicktime failed to play an .avi file off CD this week, but I can't be sure, as I hadn't tried HD for a little while before then. Could QT bombing out have corrupted a system file?
Would you also suggest an Archive and Install? And what sort of system clean-up can I expect after such a procedure? Is there a less radical fix?
    Thanks for any thoughts,
    Andrew

    iMac G4 Desktop   Mac OS X (10.4.9)   Graphics : NVIDIA GeForce2 MX:

    Hi Folks,
I am running a G-4, 1.25 Gz, 2 gigs ram, running 10.4.9, and a Radeon 9800 pro graphics card. I am having the same problems. I have tried the solutions mentioned here and still have the same problem. I have tried saving the iMovie to to my desk top, run permisions. The Graphics/Dispalys in system profile says
    ATI Radeon 9800 Pro:
    Chipset Model: ATY,R350
    Type: Display
    Bus: AGP
    Slot: SLOT-1
    VRAM (Total): 128 MB
    Vendor: ATI (0x1002)
    Device ID: 0x4e48
    Revision ID: 0x0000
    ROM Revision: 113-A07525-130
    Displays:
    CPD-E540:
    Resolution: 1344 x 1008 @ 60 Hz
    Depth: 32-bit Color
    Core Image: Supported
    Main Display: Yes
    Mirror: Off
    Online: Yes
    Quartz Extreme: Supported
So what is the solution...Do I have to retrograde back to iMovie 5?

  • 2nd graphics card doesn't work after upgrade to 10.6

I ordered my Mac Pro with two ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT graphic cards and they always worked great. After I upgraded to Snow Leopard, it always shows a display connected to the second card even when there isn't. This wasn't an issue until I started having windows displayed on that "ghost" screen that I couldn't see. In the System Profiler, It no longer recognizes the graphics card like it should and reports the wrong amount of memory (1024 instead of 256MB... I wish) and of course reports a "Display" that doesn't exist. Since from time to time I like to connect my TV to my Mac - for movies or whatever else - I connect it to this second graphics card but since 10.6, it hasn't worked.
In short: my second graphics card isn't recognized correctly; it has a ghost display with or without a display connected to it; will not connect to a display.

I'd assume you do have a bad card now. Maybe wait and see if newer ATI cards come out, or opt for 4870 or flash one of the 1GB models that can be flashed, and save couple $100.

  • Graphics Card not working as it should?

Hi. i bought a pavilion dv7-4165dx laptop so i could play my favorite games on it, but today when i tried to run need for speed carbon with maximum settings the game started to lag a lot, then i apply medium settings and it still did the same thing until i put the settings on low i could play the game with no problems at all. The lag only happen when the game was at maximum or at medium settings, so my question is that how can a laptop that has a 4250 premium vision graphics card cannot play this game with maximum settings when my 2006 compaq presario can? The new laptop has: AMD Phenom II 850 triple-core processor, 2200MHz with 4 gb of dd3 ram and a 4250 premium vision graphics card.
P.S. I already update everything so updates are not the problem.

    Hi,
We can't compare apple with orange. Playing high grphices game will make machines hotter very quick. In your case, I believe the laptop gets hot and slow things down.

  • Upgrade graphics card available?

    Hello,
My iMac has an ATI RadeonHD 2600 card with 256G. Is it possible to upgrade this computer's graphics card? If so, what are the options for upgrade?
    thanks.

    Short answer: No.
Graphics cards cannot be upgraded - the only choices there are if you buy from the online store and choose a special configuration.
