Qosmio F50 - Need to update BIOS in order of installing Win7-64bit

Dear community,
I plan to update to Windows 7 64 bit. My notebook is Toshiba Qosmio F50-10M with a preinstalled VISTA32bit.
Is there a need to update the BIOS prior installing the new OS? I read that there is a BIOS update f?¼r VISTA64bit available but none I discovered for Win7 64bit.
Can you give a clue?
I am confident and glad to own such a powerful notebook but this not completed OS named VISTA is driving me nuts increasingly reading all those nice reports concerning the benefits of Windows7!
Eager to read your welcomed responses
Yours,
Starmind

Thank you for anwering Paolo!
Do I understand the right way? I shouldn´t change BIOS if I don´t encounter any problems?
But I should change the BIOS from 32 to 64 bit if I install the 64bit version of Win7? I intend to do so as I plan to use the full memory of my machine (I use VISTA32 at the moment).
I should change the BIOS prior installing Win7 as I understood as posted earlier?
Thank your for your kind assistance!

"I have clean installation of Windows Vista on my Equium A110-276. Do I need to update the BIOS or not? Does Updating BIOS Compulsory/mandatory?

    Hi
It seems Toshiba has published a special version of BIOS for Windows Vista.
If you want you can check it on the Toshiba driver page.
But if your Vista runs correctly on the notebook with previous BIOS version you dont need to update the BIOS.
I would recommend updating the BIOS if any strange operational behavior will appear.

In my Java Prefs App I unchecked
    J2SE 5.0
    J2SE 1.4.2 was already unchecked.
    Did I get this right?
Wasnt sure if I was  was disabling Java or Java Script here....
That is Java. Those are also really old versions. You can actually keep them turned on in Java Preferences.
What you want to change is in Safari > Preferences > Security and turn off Java there. Leave Javascript turned on.
This way, the only thing you disable is Java applets, which are useless anyway. If you need to run any Java programs, they will still work. If you have any specific site that requires a Java applet, you can always turn it on just for that site and turn it back off when you are done.

  • Need to update Bios ? n100 Model

Can anyone tell me how to update the Bios on my computer.
I have tried to load the new Bios according to the Lenovo site but it will not take.
    Computer is the 3000 N100  0768 A49
I have downloaded it to the desktop, then run the setup with the wizard then it is telling me it made a file.
After checking the Bios it has never changed and is the same old 63ET62WW V1.08 version.
Also, can you tell me how to eliminate the need for a password on Vista Business.  I do not want to log on every time it boots up or goes into sleep mode.
    Thank you

You need to go to the folder created by the downloaded program and run the bios update.
Read the Installation Instructions on THIS page!
Always use caution when updating bios.
As to password, go to Control Panel, Users and Groups and change your
password to a blank. (delete existing password.)
And Screensaver settings, uncheck Require a Password...

  • CPU upgrade - do I need to update bios??

    I got a KT3 Ultra 2 6380E mobo with Bios V5.60 and I want to put in a AMB 2600+ Barton (333)
Do I need to update my bios to V5.70???
I dont really want to flash it unless I have to - On the MSI bios update monitor it aint clear if V5.60 supports the 'batron' 2600 as well as the normal XP 2600 cpu
And a little second point about clearning CMOS - again is this needed when upgradeing CPUs? - Can I damage anything if I aint got the correst Bios or not cleared the CMOS ??

  • Z87-GD65 - Need help updating BIOS, might've bricked

I recently tried to flash/update my motherboard and I think I might've bricked it. Could somebody confirm and tell me what I should do?
I have the MSI Z87-GD65 Motherboard with an Intel i5 4690k.
My BIOS was an older version and I needed to update to support Haswell refresh. This is what happened:
I downloaded the latest BIOS update from the MSI website, extracted the files to a USB. I plugged that in and updated the BIOS through the MFLASH feature in the MSI BIOS. I updated the MSI BIOS & ME with the USB and I think the updating got to around 30-40% before the screen went black then after a little bit I got back to the BIOS menu. I checked the version and confirmed that the BIOS was updated to the latest version.
Thereafter I restarted my computer a few times and noticed that it took a little longer for the system to get to the prompt to enter "DEL" to get to BIOS compared to the first time when I booted my computer. Everything else seemed fine so I went ahead and turned off the computer again and removed the USB and replaced it with another USB to install Windows. Then as the computer booted I see an screen that shows the BIOS and ME is updating from 30%-100% then my screen went black. Now when I turn on the computer it remains black but the system powers on/fans work.
I looked up several sources to make sure I was flashing the MOBO correctly and I followed all the directions I found through MSI.
I pretty much followed the instructions here exactly:
Also I think my motherboard comes with a back-up BIOS. Is that a viable option to switch to? Are there any difference, how does it work? Also would resetting the CMOS do anything? I've been trying to figure out how I can fix the problem without having to RMA but was hoping to get some more knowledgeable advice before doing anything.
    Thanks!

    1. Could you elaborate on step D? How do I make sure legacy USB is enabled?
Enter bios -> Integrated periphals and check the USB settings.
Quote from: danielsuh on 29-March-15, 07:31:59
    2. In step F, do I have to flip the switch to BIOS B on my motherboard then boot the computer with the USB plugged in?
You should already be at the working bios (b) so there should be no need for switching. But of course boot from the good bios.
Quote from: danielsuh on 29-March-15, 07:31:59
    3. Step G: How do I switch back to the bad BIOS without restart/powering down? Do I flip the switch on the motherboard to BIOS A while the computer is still on?
Yes, you switch to the bad bios WITHOUT restarting or turning off while the machine is running.
Quote from: danielsuh on 29-March-15, 07:31:59
    4. Step H: Will the directions be on a prompter once I switch to the bad BIOS or are there some directions online I'm missing?
Once you switched nothing will change for you. You will have the options from the MSI USB tool youbooted from the stick we prepared earlier. There you select the number of the flash option

    Thank you so much!
I have a few clarification questions.. just for reference this is all for a new PC I just built and doesn't have any OS installed:
    5. Step I: What exactly is the ME drivers? When I originally tried to flash the drive there were two options: Update BIOS and Update BIOS & Me. So after I flash the 1B BIOS, I install windows as normal then once I get to the desktop I install the ME drivers in the link, right?
Right. What comes with the bios is the ME firmware (hardware level) but in Windows you also need to install the driver (software level). Therefor you install the driver linked after all went fine and you are back in Windows.

  • Need to update the sales order status

    Hi Friends,
    I have one query.
we are doing archiving of sales documents.during the preprocessing we have identified that there are some non-archivable documents due to status check.
Example:As per Sales order schedule line category "CT" is relevant for delivery. Now we had a talk with business and removed the "item relevant for delivery indiacaotor" from schedule line category.
This config changes will apply for newly created sales orders.
Now the requirement is to update the status of old sales orders with this new config change to make these non archivable data to be ARCHIVED.
can any one help me out by providing relevant SAP note or by sending me the program name which will update the old order status with the new config changes.
    Thanks & regards,

In the Program MV45AFZZ in the FORM userexit_save_document

    IF t180-trtyp = 'H'.  "Only creation time
READ TABLE xvbap WITH KEY matnr = c_matnr.

                       AND  matnr =  c_matnr.
          l_objnr = xvbap-objnr.
          CALL FUNCTION 'STATUS_CHANGE_EXTERN'

  • I need drivers to install Win7 64bit on SSD mSATA

    Hi!
I need drivers to install WIN7 64x on SSD mSATA THNSNH256GMCT
Serial number on my product is 23NS10BFTABY
    Thank you!

This serial number doesn't help much. It will be better if you can post exact notebook model name and model number.
Anyway, visit Toshiba support and download page for your country and if your notebook model is supported for Win7 64bit you should be able to find all necessary drivers, tools and utilities.

Try a hard reset, works sometimes.Disconnect all external devices first.
    1-remove power cord and battery
2-press power button for 30 seconds
3-reinstall only power cord for first startup.
    4-power on

  • DPC Latency issue, need to update BIOS?

I'm into recording music and latency is of great importance. I did a DPC latency check and noticed I was getting some major peaks, constantly. I tried everything, removing sound card, disabling drivers, etc, etc and nothing works. Then I did a google search and found this: https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=125206.0
    I have...
    Model name: 7519 v1.0
    M/B ERP Version: 06
I have NEVER flashed BIOS before and have no idea how to do it. I don't even have a floppy drive. I really need to fix this latency issue though, otherwise I will have to buy a new computer :(
Can someone help me? I sent en inquiry to the support, but did not get a reply.
    Thank you.

What is the model name of your mainboard?  There are many MS-7519 mainboards with different PCB and ERP numbers (your ERP number is incomplete, there must be three digits):
    http://eu.msi.com/service/search/?kw=7519&type=product
The best way to approach this, is to check your current BIOS Version as displayed on the P.O.S.T. Status Screen:
Write down the full BIOS ID String as it appears in the red box in the example picture.  When we know the BIOS Version, it is possible to check whether or not there is Latency Fix for your board out there or not.
Have a look here and make yourself familiar with our MSI HQ Forum USB Flashing Tool:  >>Use the MSI HQ Forum USB flasher<<.

  • [URGENT] Need Help Updateing BIOS

well my concern is recently purchased  Lenovo G580 (2689)
my BIOS version is  62CN41WW, 10-09-12
I want to flash the BIOS kindly somebody help me to geta detailed procedure for flashing the BIOS
Any help would be highly appriciated
And if so is it possible to Remove the exiting the Pheonix BIOS and Flash it and Install Insyde BIOS??....kindly help me

    hi Abinash,
You can follow this article on how to safely flash the BIOS.
As for modifying the BIOS, you can only update the BIOS that came with the PC. If you flash it with a different type (i.e. Phoenix BIOS to Insyde BIOS, you might end-up corrupting the CMOS settings rendering the computer unsuable.
It maybe possible though to modify BIOS files using different tools as discussed in this thread.
    Hope this helps.

  • I just updated Adobe but I continue to get the message that I need to update Adobe in order to open the PDF

I just updated to the latest version of Adobe but I still unable to open the PDF

When you open the PDF document in Adobe Reader for iOS, do you see a message like this?
(Tap/click the image above to enlarge)
Your PDF document is a special type of form called a "dynamic XFA form".
Currently, Adobe Reader mobile products (Reader for iOS, Android, Windows Phone) do not support static or dynamic XFA forms created with Adobe LiveCycle Designer.
The message "Please wait..." is displayed when a dynamic content is not supported by a PDF viewer.
The following blog post by Jeff Stanier (Adobe LiveCycle Designer Product Manager) explains the reason why XFA forms are not supported on mobile.
Adobe Reader Mobile and XFA forms from LiveCycle Designer
You can use the desktop version of Adobe Reader on a Windows or Mac computer to fill out XFA forms.
    Sorry for the inconvenience.

  • IPhoto is saying I need to update it in order to open it but I have the latest version?

iPhoto says to do a software update but the software update is saying that everything is up to date.
Is there a way for it to open and not lose any pictures? I stupidly didn't back up the pictures onto a seperate harddrive.
My computer is relatively new (about 6 months) and am very frustrated.
Please help and thank you in advance.

    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

    TD

  • Need to sign Lenovo in order to install our Remote Control app for our Customer - Help please!

    Dear All,
Thank you for joining me into the Lenovo Community.
I am not certain if I have started the thread in the right place, if I have not, admins please help me transfer this thread where needed.
One of our Customers is going to purchase our Remote Control application, in order to access and remote control their Android Smartphones, from their Windows PCs (Windows Computers to access and remote control their Android phones). The Customer is using Lenovo as their smartphones (about 2000 of them).
However, our application needs to be signed by Lenovo in order to fully install and run on a Lenovo Android smartphone.
I do not have access to the Support department, nor to the Development department of Lenovo in China.
Is there a way that you would recommend I take, either by contacting Development directly, or Support, and where would that be? China or US?
Thank you in advance and I hope to hear from you soon.
    kind regards,
    Michael Chatzilias

Use the "auto search" feature of the remote to see get the code.
In the manual, it's under "WHAT IF NONE OF THE CODES WORKED"
    Here's a summary:
program the TV, use code 922
    Press Play
    then Press Fast forward.
Keep pressing fast forward until your tv turns off (go slow, if you go to fast you can use rewind to go back a code).
when it turns off, the remote found the code, press OK to save it.
