Qosmio F60-10L Bios is not working

Hey there,
I just bought a Toshiba Qosmio F60-10L.
Now the Bios is not working anymore. Everytime I want to enter Bios menu with "F2" the computer is restarting instantly.
Last week the mainboard has been changed.
But now, after I set a Supervisor password, the problem comes again.
Has anyone an Idea what to do?
Greets marx

Hi
You mean you are not able to access the BIOS or you are not able to boot up the notebook?
I think if you had some problems in the past (you said that motherboard has been changed) then I would assume that this issue might be related again to the same reason which appeared previously
Maybe it would be advisable to ask the guys who have replaced eh motherboard for help
Then could remove the BIOS password or Supervisor password and could update the BIOS if necessary

  • Qosmio X300 - CORSAIR RAM is not working

    Hello,
I own a Toshiba Qosmio x300-130 and in users manuall it is said it support max 2 x 4gb ddr 3 =8gb
So today my CORSAIR RAM ARRIVED !!! AND i was suprised they didnt work !!!!
Ima out of tricks what do u think the pr is ?
    here is the part number
    cmso4gx3m1a1333c9 i bought 2 x4gb :(

Yup...... here is my story and how it went :)
it looks like modules with 1066 mhz are rare these days and apparently....... the newe ones which are 1600 will not work under any circumstance.....
So today the shop refunded my money and i decide to go by car and search for modules which are DDR3 and 1066 mhz and after 1-2 hours driving i found a small repair shop where, when i entered and asked they said they have.. and apparently this shop is collecting all these old modules and reselling them for good profit since these modules are more expensive than newer ones...
Anyway we tried Kingston, Samsung, Adata and many other companies all of them worked i wanted to buy 2x4GB=8Gb the which according to manuall the laptop supports max 8GB RAM !!! but i was shocked after we loaded the modules 2x8GB = 16Gb again 1066mhz ola !!!!
The laptop botted up and in phoenix Bios it showed 16GB !!! i was shocked ....... So i ended up buying the 16GB and went home happilly ever after ;)
    I hope RAM problem resolved

  • Qosmio G30-126 - BIOS is not able upgraded on this configuration

    Hello people
I have a problem with my computer where the Toshiba Service had replaced my motherboard. (a display adapter fault).
I have the computer now but the BIOS is very old, is Version 1.90. I downloaded the latest version from Toshiba's site which is 3.90.
When I try to update I get the message " Error. BIOS Upgrade is Failure. BIOS is not able upgraded on this configuration".
I have Windows 7 and run everything in Administrator mode.
I boot from WinPE CD but still not able to do any BIOS upgrade.
The old BIOS does not support USB boot and has some other issues that make the upgrade an important factor.
One assumption I made is that the BIOS has to be upgraded in small steps, i.e. from version 1.60 to 1.70 etc. until I reach 3.90.
    Any help would be appreciated.

I need the upgrade since some features do not exist. Like, USB boot, screen brightness is allways full and cannot change with this BIOS.
It could change with 3.90 on my previous motherboard.
I used the extracted files as you mentioned with Administrative rights. I downloaded the Upgrade files from Toshiba and are supposed to be OK with Windows7
If i have to format the disks and install the preinstall operating system in order to make a BIOS Upgrade, I prefer to buy a new computer :)
I had tried many other alternatives like, boot from various CDs with BartPE (XP), Live CD (Vista) but had no success.

  • Re: Qosmio F50-12J - FN key not working with new Value Added Package

    Hi,
I have Toshiba Qosmio F50-12J and have trouble with Value Added Package v 1.2.28.
I can't get the flash cards to work. When I press FN key nothing happens. BTW, I installed VAP on freshly installed Windows 7 64 bit. With the previuos version of VAP that I tried on Windows 7, KeNotify.exe was crashing. Now there is no apparent crash, but nothing happens.
Also, there is a problem with the Button Support utility (touch sensitive controls). Whenever I reboot my system, all the white illumiation LEDs on my laptop are lit although I turned them off.
So, could someone confirm that they have a working Value Added Package v 1.2.28 on Windows 7 64bit ?

    Hi buddy,
Your posting is a little bit confusing and in my opinion you make something wrong. My Qosmio F50 runs pretty good on Windows 7 and I dont have any problems with the FN keys, illumination buttons or other function.
First of all make sure that all drivers are installed!!! I mean chipset, graphic, sound, etc. Check the device manager and if you can find unknown devices or yellow exclamation marks download the missing drivers on the Toshiba page.
The Button Support Utility has nothing to do with Flash Cards support utility. So before you make something wrong, please uninstall Toshiba Value Added Package and Flash Card Supports Utility. Restart the notebook after uninstallation and clean the registry using CCleaner (http://www.ccleaner.com/). If you have clean the registry, restart the notebook again.
Now you should install newest Toshiba Value Added Package. Restart again.
Install Flash Cards Support Utility for Vista. Restart again.
Now you should check if it works or not.
Sorry but thats all what I can say. I dont have any problems on my Qosmio F50 and Windows 7.

  • T420 (and others?) WMI BIOS management not working

We are deploying Windows 7 to Lenovo laptops using Microsoft SCCM. We should change a few BIOS options on every laptop, most importantly enable TPM for Bitlocker.
I read the Lenovo BIOS Windows Management Instrumentation Interface document and tested the provided sample scripts. "cscript.exe SetConfig.vbs SecurityChip Active" seems to work as expected, and so do some other settings like disabling modem, fingerprint reader etc. Running the ListAll.vbs script after modifying the settings with SetConfig.vbs prints the correct modified values, so something does get saved.
However, after rebooting the laptop the BIOS settings are back like they used to be. The system even reports "Configuration modified, reboot the computer" or something like that when it reboots, and everything seems fine but.. The settings just don't get saved or don't actually even change. After the reboot ListAll.vbs also reports the original settings.
Any ideas? Shouldn't SetConfig.vbs save the settings when it applies them?
The problem was verified to exist at least on T420, but we didn't test other models yet so I cannot say if it's model spesific. I think I also didn't test modifying just one setting, we changed a couple of them at the same time. I'll test that tomorrow but I don't think that explains the problem either?.
    Solved!

Did you try to update the BIOS to the brand new version?

  • F4 to show advanced bios options not working

Hello, i have a MSI P6N-SLI FI board, with the v27 bios. I'm looking to disable C1E but F4 does not seem to do the trick. I remeber clearly on v25 i think, doing it, but it just dosent want to activate here. Any ideeas?

There is no C1E Option that could be made visible by pressing F4 in BIOS v2.7.  It was still part of BIOS v2.6.  In v2.7, however, it appears to have been removed.
Hit F4 while you are in the "Integrated Peripherals" Section and you will see that the F4-Function itself still works as a new option should appear.
Why would you want to disable C1E Support anyway?
What makes you think that it isn't already disabled?

  • Acer Iconia W3 BIOS update not working

Hi, I have downloaded the new 1.07 BIOS from Acer Support, but when I run the file inside, nothing happens. When I restart the device after this, it starts doing something, but almost immediately tells me it needs to reboot, and nothing happens. My BIOS version is still 1.02, not 1.07. How do I actually use this? Thanks.

Hi Folks, I had same problem with BIOS not updating, and battery stopped charging. My steps: 1. Updated Windows 8 entirely, there were 70+ updates2. Updated Acer Windows 8 drivers3. In BIOS, reset all security settings4. Disable FTPM5. Upgraded one at a time from 1.03 to 1.07 Now my battery works fine. I can't say which of these steps was crtical, but I tried alot of other stuff and these sequence worked for me. I may still take this unit back, but it is appealing that it has HDMI port and separate charging port versus the Dell Venue, albeit the Acer screen is OK versus IPS. Hope this helps,Barry

  • [FIXED] MSI G33M + Q9400 not working. BIOS update not working either.

    Build:
    MSI G33M (MS-7357)
    2GB Kingston DDR2 RAM (800MHz)
    XFX 8600GT 256MB 540Mhz (stock)
Intel Core 2 Quad Q9400 (stock)
    RaidMax 420W PSU
160GB Seagate sATA HDD 7,200 RPM with WINDOWS 7 BETA
250GB Seagate sATA HDD 7,200 RPM with WINDOWS XP MCE 32Bit
Here's what I sent to customer service:
I have been running my system with the above configuration but with a Intel Core 2 Duo e4400. I recently bought a new Intel Core 2 Quad Q9400 which should be supported by my MSI Mainboard - the G33M which supports LGA775 1333FSB, 45nm, Core 2 Duo and Quad. After installing my new CPU the system would start and the splash screen would appear and I would get the regular 3 system beeps, but then the computer would reboot, and the splash screen would reappear, and it would reboot and this process will continue. I am also unable to get into BIOS. So I put in my old processor for now and it's running fine. The CPU was properly installed and should be running fine but it isn't.
My Friend told me to update the BIOS version but I'm not sure on how to do that or if it will fix it. If you could please tell me what the problem is, and if I need to update the BIOS how to do so. Because when I downloaded the 1.3 BIOS update files off your website they were .exe files and another unfamiliar, unreadable file. The instructions weren't very clear.
    Thank-you,
    Nick
Today I went through the forums since they haven't responded and I was tired of waiting. I came upon the BIOS Flash Thread https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=116721.0 and I decided to do it. Everything worked fine (by that I mean the preparation process).  (I made sure USB Lagacy Support, Boot from other device, USB Controller were enabled and Quick Boot was disabled in BIOS. I even made the boot sequence to boot from the memory stick first.) When I start up I press F11 during POST and select Kingston (memory card) just to be sure. Then I get a screen with a bunch of system information (it seems) and at the bottom it says "Esc to boot... 10 sec" then it counts down to "0" and boots my OS (I have windows XP and W7). It should start up the BIOS update like it says.... But it doesn't...  Instead it shows this system info. Does anyone know why?
    Please help. Thanks,
    Nick P.

I got a new power supply as suggested. The power supply I bought is a 600W OCZ modular, I got a decent price, here's the link http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=33041&vpn=OCZ600MXSP&manufacture=OCZ%20Technology&promoid=1029
I switched to the Q9400 and tried to see if it would load up but no success. So back to the flashing part....
Here's the responce I got from customer service:
This mainboard supports Intel Q9400.Please download the bios files:
    http://asia.msi.com/index.php?func=downloadfile&dno=7420&type=bios
    How to update BIOS?
1.First of all, please make a booting disk.
2.Next go to our website to download BIOS file, then copy “AFUD4234” and “A7357IMS.130” into the disk.
3.After that, please go to “BIOS setup” and choose booting disk under “boot sequence”.
4.Under DOS mode, please type “AFUD4234 A7357IMS.130” and it will be updated successful!!
    Warning:
    1. During updating, please stop all working process to avoid update interruption.
    2. Please must not cut the power or restart your computer during you flash BIOS!
    3. Please also remember to Load Optimized Defaults under bios setup after you finish the BIOS update!
This confuses me: in instructions it says:
"DON'T FLASH FROM A FLOPPY DISK!!!!"
then it talks about making a boot disk and booting from a floppy...?
So do I do this from a floppy (why would I?!?!) or can I just do this from a DVD/CD?
How do I do this on a blank DVD and with what software.
Also, does anyone know what could've happened with the USB drive?
    Thanks,
    NP

  • Satellite M30-951 graphic card or video BIOS does not work properly

On the BIOS and boot pages strange characters occur (screenshot www.audioberlin.com/M30-951_SCREEN.jpg).
XP boots up but the elements displayed freeze and the display becomes black for a second. The system becomes slow and does not react any longer.
Maybe these symptoms started after having tried to watch a movie which was not encoded correctly but I am not sure.
I already tried different video drivers (Nvidia FX GO5200), changed the BIOS from 1.7 to 1.6 and back again and reinstalled XP Pro. I also substituted the RAM. Nothing changes :(
Could a broken video bios be the problem? And how could this problem be solved?

    Hi buddy,
no, its not a broken videobios. Your graphicscard is defective and thats a 100% fact. My girlfriend had an M30-244 and the same error occurred with her machine.
At this time she had warranty on her machine, and they replaced the Mainboard of the machine.
After the replacement everything was fine again. So if you have still warranty on your Rig then give it to repair; otherwise you can give the machine to ebay. :)
Sorry dude, but thats a not very nice fact, which I can tell you.

  • Qosmio x500/02G Number Pad Not Working

    Hello,
I have a x500 that i recently purchased and installed Windows 7 Professional on it. Now i cannot use the number pad on the right hand side of the keyboard.
I've tried using various combinations of NUMLOCK and SCROLLLOCK to no avail. Surely there a seperate number pad doesn't require drivers?!

The problem was a faulty keyboard. there was a bank of keys on the numeric pad that were non-functional.
A bit dissapointing given i'd had the laptop for less than 24 hours. Took it back to the store for a replacement.

  • Hey my acer bio protection is not working on mozilla help!! i need an add-on

i have acer aspire 6920g and my acer bio protection was working fine on ie but when i put mozilla the bio protection not working
    any idea

To get it to restore you use an application that is installed from the CD that comes with the iPod... can you find this and run it with the iPod connected. If it is able to see the iPod just go for a full restore that should get your iPod back to the beginning and you will have to add the music again. If the software tells you no iPod is connected and you know it is maybe you will have to contact Apple or an Apple Store, as for being helpful I have approached them several times with ailing mac problems both inside and out of warranty and have found them very helpful and keen to resolve issue. I imagine at xmas they face a fairly large influx of calls from a variety of people with differing technical abilities making it harder to resolve issues and taking it longer to get through.. just keep trying, I I also have large format HP printers which are under a support contract with HP and now there is support that is a joke... any time of the year
